Influence
I think influential people should be more cautious with the ideas they promote and spread. First off, I think it's weird in a bad way that people can develop a "social media following" which can become a "platform". Second, I think it's dangerous when influencers use their platform to experiment with weird ideas, like alt-right people and conspiracy theorists on Joe Rogan's podcast. Sure, he tends to expose them for being idiots, but nobody remembers that part. They just remember that Milo and Alex Jones were on Joe Rogan's podcast. I think everyday people should also be more cautious with the ideas they promote and spread.

Misconceptions about drugs
I think many people have some of the following misconceptions about drugs:
- drugs affect different people differently (alcohol makes some people happy, others sad) - dosage differs for different people with no obvious pattern - a failed drug test just means a person used drugs at some point in the somewhat recent past, not that they are currently high

Weightlifting is kind of funny because you're like "I'm gonna lift that heavy thing" and your body's like "nah" and then you force your body to lift it and it's like "ok" and then it gets easier.

There are two types of people who work on classified things: (1) people who say "I can't talk about that, it's classified" and (2) people who say the things that aren't classified without mentioning the things that are.

Tumblr v5
Apparently Tumblr v5 came out and it has an easy email-to-post option. This has probably been around for a while, but I'm not enough of a Tumblr user to notice.

Why didn't Google buy Tumblr? Instead they went with Jaiku, the Twitter clone with commenting. Commenting is cool and I wish Tumblr had it, but I think Twitter is stupid, and Jaiku follows in its footsteps.

Every time I come back to Tumblr after a few months away from it, I'm absolutely a fan of it. It's a really cool yet simple little tool. Unfortunately, I don't really have a use for it at the moment, which is the same reaction as my first one in March.

As much as everyone else is into Twitter, I'm kind of into Tumblr. But I'm not into it like it's the biggest new thing ever. I think it's cool and it's a great idea. But again, I already have this functionality. I guess the difference with Twitter is that it helps you keep up with your friends. I don't have any friends. I'm not into Myspace. So I'm not into Twitter.

Oh, and Tumblr is blazing fast. That's what I would've expected, but I'm still impressed by its unbelievable speed.

Twitter
The problem with Twitter is that it's a little slow and clunky, seeing that it's such an unbelievably simple system. Also, I feel a little constricted by it's central question: "What are you doing?" It puts the question before the box where you type entries. It makes me feel like I should answer the question, which isn't why I blog (or whatever you call this). Tumblr asks no questions and assumes nothing. It's such a simple, stripped-down blogging platform. I'm an instant fan.

This Tumblr thing seems a bit like Twitter. It's simple and cool, but I like my recently-created plain-text note-taking app. We'll see where this goes.
