Animate DTIYS with tutorial!
Meet Petals and Antenna 🌸 🍃 I’m hosting my first DTIYS challenge, aimed at 2D animation beginners or illustrators who want to try animation, check out the tutorial!
(The main challenge is on Instagram, but of course, you can share it here too! Though I gotta be honest, I still don't know exactly how Tumblr works, so I may not see it, but tag me or send a message or something please! And I'm sorry I feel so boomer lol).
Guidelines
- Animate (or draw) Pet and Anty (one or both)
- You can follow the tutorial or make a crazy sakuga, however you want!
- I’ll share them until June 15th
With all the AI stuff going on, I am in a pretty bad mood regarding art; so much disrespect toward artists is disheartening. To counteract that, I decided to host my first challenge with an animation approach! Starting 2D animation can be daunting, hopefully this challenge and tutorial gives you an easy introduction and gets you pumped about what you can accomplish!

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.
and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.
there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.
i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

This sorta reminds me of “Finding Nemo”, where a male and a female get put in a situation together, and no romance happens.
I didn’t know that the people were supposed to be a woman and a brother in-law. Lol! I was gonna suggest them being a virus and white blood cell. But the white blood cell has to protect the virus so that the body has time to grow a stronger immunity to support a resilience to the virus.
…or something.
I wrote a story where a man and woman character had to sleep in the same place to pool warmth for survival so I decided to see if making them a lesbian and an asexual man would stop people in workshop from wanting to see the story get erotic but NOPE that was still feedback that I got

Recently I had the opportunity to experience the amazing Beauty and the Beast ride in Tokyo, which has rekindled my love for that film. I was having to hold back tears the entire time.
But I've always wanted to see more of Belle and Beast bonding. And I know that Beast would be so soft to cuddle up with. XD
