Just a reminder that your character doesn't have to be aloof, grumpy, or goth to be aromamtic or asexual. They can be the most friendly, pastel-themed, tactile person in the entire cast, and that's still valid.
Despite stereotypes, if you have a character, and are thinking they'd make a great aro/ace character but don't want to, because they don't fit the stereotype? Do it anyway. They can be aloof, and goth! But, as a cottagecore, friendly, cuddly asexual, we don't have to be.
Aro/ace representation beyond the stereotype is still valid. You, or your character, do not have to be aloof and disgusted at relationships, or wear certain clothing to be valid. + dont feel afraid to write in queerplatonic relationships! Write them! Make then go well, make tjem go poorly, its a relationship just like any other, with thwie ups and downs.

Sounds like you should have a nap. THEN FIRE ZE MISSILES! (Or tell me about your DnD character. It's something I don't know much about but always looked like a fun thing to get into!)
Itâs a ton of fun - especially if youâre playing with friends, and ESPECIALLY especially if those friends happen to be storytellers. Iâve played tabletop RPGs with people who arenât storytellers before, and itâs fine, but those players tend to be more concerned with battles and mechanics than the story being told. Which, if thatâs what they like, good for them! But Iâm playing with eight other people who are emotionally invested in the story the DM has created for us, and itâs just incredible. This past weekend we drove each other and ourselves to literal tears.
And you donât necessarily need to know all of the lore of DnD to play! Plenty of games take place in other worlds. The one Iâm playing now does. Iâve seen DnD campaigns set in a fantasy high school suburb, in modern day NYC, hell - even a GOT-type political intrigue campaign that took place in a refrigerator, where all the characters were food! The possibilities are limitless.
Anyway - my character. The whole premise behind him was âwhat if, in the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast, the breaking of the curse didnât heal the fatal knife wound?â Things have sort of spiraled from there. This character is partly inspired by the Beast, by Rumpelstiltskin, by Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist and RobotMan from Doom Patrol, by Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and probably several others Iâm not remembering. Heâs a loser barbarian wife guy who was supposed to be all aloof but has somehow found himself as the partyâs dad figure.
Thank you for indulging me! If you ever do decide to get into DnD, Iâd love to hear about it!

First off, take a break. Rest up. Feel better. I can't speak for Hellcheer, but Rumbelle has been around for a while--we're not gonna abandon your fics if you take some time off. Hopefully you'll come back stronger than ever.
Secondly, how do you write when you're not writing? Do your art projects ever help with your fandoms? Do you plan out plots or think about character stuff? Make playlists? Did/does the soap making inspire you?
The art projects mostly just help me relax. Honestly I think the most helpful thing theyâll do (once I stop being afraid to draw my own shit instead of tracing or following tutorials) is getting random fic ideas out of my head. Some of my ideas are less story ideas and more images/vibes, so⊠yeah.
Iâm honestly still figuring out how to write without writing. Iâm so used to just cracking open the scrivener document whenever I think of writing, so right now Iâm training my mind NOT to do that. Iâve spent the past⊠almost four years, wow⊠obsessing over getting updates out NOW NOW NOW! In doing so, I kinda burnt myself out, and that was before four months of sleep deprivation, so⊠yeah. Gone are the days where I can squeeze 30k words out of my head in a single week by treating my brain like the worldâs most abused tube of toothpaste.
Iâm also channeling both Eddie AND Rumplestiltskin (mostly Rumpel) into my DnD character, which absolutely helps.
