Dan Snowberger holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. With over 30 years of experience in education, Daniel Snowberger is a superintendent at Durango School District 9-R. He was also appointed to the Colorado Education Leadership Council (CLEC) in 2017 by Governor Hickenlooper. The Colorado Education Leadership Council was formed in 2017 with the singular goal of mapping the blueprint to revamp the education system in the state of Colorado. They have partnered with a non-profit organization, the Keystone Policy Center, to promote the program through public meetings and media coverage, as well as focusing on the achievements of local students, offering finances for visionary education projects, and helping to implement their developed framework. The framework of the CELC is based on four main areas that need to be nurtured and addressed in the state. There is a goal for complete literacy for children by the end of the third grade, as well as making stronger educational programs for students from K through fifth grade. The council has also pledged to assist high school students better transition to post-secondary education or the workforce and also pledged to have stronger partnerships with the local community.
