In Bejeweled music video, Pat McGrath is the Queen and judges the contest.
Pat McGrath is Taylor’s make-up artist. Thus: The Queen of Make-Up, or…the Queen of Make Believe.
She picks the performer with the best make-believe story as the winner of the contest!
Taylor learns her winning performance with Dita Von Teese - the Queen of Burlesque.
Burlesque definition: an absurd or comically exaggerated imitation of something, especially in a literary or dramatic work; a parody.
Hmmm…An absurdly or comically exaggerated imitation of something 🤔 Such as the Taylor Travis spectacle, maybe?

You know what’s wild to me? All of her surprise songs in Tokyo were sooo telling about how she really feels. She could have easily done love songs or stuff like that leading up to the big game. In fact, swifties were basically demanding Mary’s Song the entire time.
Instead she sings multiple songs about falling apart, fans not seeing her and hiding in plain sight with dear reader, how she took the money in YOYOK and this from just a couple of days ago:

Ok i love how the The Tortured Poets Department album cover contrast Midnights with the night and what seems to be like (day)light on this one? 👀
Tumblr media
Especially this one, it's like that time of the day (in the morning) when light shines through the window and the curtains are semi drawn?
With Midnights, the "lights" come from artificial lighting (like a lighter, lamps, etc). But with TTPD, seems like the light actually comes from a natural source (the sun)? We'll see with the rest of the photoshoot 🤓
Edit: (Also, the color scheme / theme looks more silvertone than just black and white?)

Which like, there's a hint of yellow/warmth... 🌝

I just love how Taylor made London Boy + So Long, London, but NEVER ever said goodbye to New York (like the actual title being New York etc). It's only ever been Welcome To New York 😭 and then kept on referencing New York in lyrics until very recently with Midnights 🥴🤭
I'm New York City / You're the West Village / This city screams your name and so on ~

I also think so long london could be a so long to bearding, since london boy was so obviously about a beard.
Tumblr media
Same anon. I chickened out to say it with my whole chest so i put it in the tags, but now we're two soo 😂 It still depends on the actual lyrics tho. But anyway right? Most of them were from London. So when i saw this, that's the first thing that came to my mind bc it felt symbolic to that. It's just so funny to me how she kept referencing new york up til midnights, even tried to push joe as the "new york" when we all know he's not, so it really makes you think - if joe's london, who's new york? Who's always been new york?
Now i'm not sure if she'll actually stop bearding - bc with tk, obviously not - but maybe we're a step closer to that IF she plans on doing ~that~.
In addition, i think it's noteworthy the main color of this album ~seems~ to be white (as i've posted about here). White heart emoji 🤍, white dress, white number 12 midnight clock. Also how in the karma segment, when the door reaches the ground, it turns into white before the colored dusts...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
White is cleansing, a clean slate. A blank page (poets department - academia vibes). And then the bonus track being manuscript - "a book, document, or piece of music written by hand rather than typed or printed". Like a transformation of sorts?

Hi everyone I’m back from my hiatus bc I just had an epiphany after Taylor announced her 11th album (WHICH IM FREAKING OUT ABT BTW I SWEAR THIS WOMAN IS GONNA BE THE DEATH OF ME)…So she put the song Karma on Midnights and everyone was thinking Karma would be the title of her 11th album since that was the 11th track and obviously we just found out that’s not the case, but what if Karma is actually the title of her 12th album since midnight is 12:00. Karma the song on Midnights to foreshadow Karma the album happening at midnight (i.e. when we meet the real Taylor). And of course there’s the orange karma theories. Orange is the only color she hasn’t used yet and I’m guessing this is why her 11th album is black and white—she’s saving orange for Karma, her 12th album, which will complete the rainbow at the same time she comes out!! 🌈
