to imply offense---before his lips curve into a sly smile.

there’s a good deal of barely concealed sarcasm being
passed off as further teasing here, but it’s all meant in
good fun. SOMEONE has to alleviate the monotony of
pencil on paper that falls somewhere inbetween their
conversation. it might as well be the guy NOT drawing
