Ahhh. . . luckily Nobara wasn't around, or the two of them may have never eaten again.

Carmine eyes widen slightly at him, her head ducking though it did little to hide her bashful smile, or the colour that dusted her cheeks. ❝ — Of course, ❞
She stares at the half-bitten fruit for a quiet moment before taking a bite herself, savouring the sweetness. ❝ They’re always sweet at this time of season. ❞
― 🜺 ― Had she not heard his stupid pun before? Surely, that would have been the moment where he'd have that tasty peach thrown onto his face with a fiercely annoyed expression to break apart the calm ― but ah, she's refuted his bizarre action with something equally as strange. Welcome, but, strange. Any sort of trepidation attempting to bubble over had now fizzled out to further appreciate her reaction ( and quite honestly, shift his focus from the fact that she ate directly on top of his bite-mark ) calming down at once, shoving his hands anxiously into his pockets, yet retaining a smile that rivals an intensely setting sun.
For a moment, all he could do was laugh at his own awkwardness, but quickly shifted his focus so that she wouldn't feel that awkwardness too.
" Y'know, I always avoided buying fruit like this because I just never ate it all ― If I don't manage to finish them, you'll finish them for me? " a jump back, quickly shooting up both hands, fumbling over his words. " Not that I'd expect you to! "

Obscure Headcanons.
Itadori Yuji
what they smell like. Yuji smells like some basic body wash and shampoo, but I do hc when he’s older that he’ll wear some cologne - especially if he’s dating someone. He doesn’t particularly have any aversion to smelling a certain way, but I think he’d know if he at least smelled bad. It’s a calming wood-burning smell.
how they sleep. sleeping position. schedule. He can sleep as soon as he hits the pillow, or really, at any given point. It’s unfair, really, how easily he can just shut his eyes and stay asleep. As I’ve said before, he’s a big cuddler. So he’ll start sleeping on his back and then roll into a ‘hugging the body pillow’ position, and even wake up like that!
what music they enjoy. I have a strong feeling he’d enjoy jrock the most. Particularly artists like The Pillows.
how much time they spend getting ready each morning. He doesn't! Sometimes he'll just pop out of bed, put on pants and a hoodie and just leave the room like that! In his older years, he takes a little bit longer to make himself presentable outside of his usual hoodie and jeans routine. Though, it's much easier for him to do this if he's in a relationship and they offer their expertise.
favorite thing to collect. Memories. He hadn't been much of a collector before he was made a vessel, but has now taken to making memories with the people around him. Photographs, cooking, movie marathons, etc.
left or right handed. righty!
favorite sports. Yuji is pretty golden and is generally good at any sport he could play! But as for a favorite, I can't pinpoint any!
favorite touristy thing to do when traveling. he is so embarrassing. Yuji will look exactly like the kind of tourist that the locals hate. Extremely easy target. Love him.
favorite kind of weather. sunny and bright! Though, he loves sleeping and staying in bed when it's raining.
weird / obscure fear they have. I wouldn't call it weird or obscure, but I suppose to other people it would be just that. His execution after consuming the remaining fingers of Sukuna.
the carnival / arcade game they always win without fail. claw game and goldfish game! He's also particularly good with knocking over pins and hitting targets with a toy gun. Really, he's good at all of them, and most of his classmates will go to him if they have a prize they really want.

listen when I read your jjk verse I yelled it’s so clever incorporating Lilith into a curse and it gives them this connection right off the cuff as two people who were unfairly put into their situations. Yuji’s more so of foolishness, Rei of no fault of her own at all. They already have a connection there, and Yuji will easily fall into a roll of a ‘Knight’ of sorts. Someone with a shared pain giving his all for her.
Doesn’t have to be a ship though!! I feel Yuji would really just... want her to be safe! Want her to live on for him! Have a life he can’t! Share in some of her pain and make sure she knows she isn’t alone.

*Yakuza verse. I die for not only the Romeo and Romeo stories between rival families but also the fine line between a best bro and a boyfriend. That confusing transition neither can understand completely, but in the end they just want to stay at each others side despite what their families are doing.
ok so i DO ship Yuji and Megumi, I love their dynamic in the manga and how quickly they became friends and faithful comrades, having each others back and wanting to see to it that the other will be alive, if they can’t be safe. For romance, I feel like they have the kind of friendship that could easily slip into the subtlety of love that neither understands, but doesn’t do anything to stop it. There must be this moment of realization. Constantly in danger and constantly slipping into ‘he’s going to die’, ‘but he’s going to die being loved’. Definitely slow burn.
But no matter what, Megumi is always Yuji’s ride or die and I love their potential so much!! Their opposite personalities mash like puzzle pieces and I just!! See SO MUCH!!!

a calmness stirs in megumi with sense of relief that comes after a VICTORY from another battle. he takes the moment to bask in the RAYS of sunshine as he keeps his eyes closed for a moment. their world is an invisible shield to non-jujutsu sorcerers, it was an unsettling truth that they couldn’t truly be ready for. so the world they looked like two EXHAUSTED highschoolers. fingers fix the collar of his school uniform before yuuji’s words catches his attention. ❛ when did i agree to this?❜
his lips dance into a frown, but he thinks of the times tsumiki often took care of him as a kid. megumi doesn’t have much knowledge of cooking except that meatball recipe yuuji taught him. however, he has to admit his stomach is growling. ❛ i guess…it’s easy like that one recipe you taught me, right?❜ he questions before he takes STRIDES towards the direction of the nearest grocery store. the both of them might as well make a stop before they had back to the dorms. ❛ i figured we could get ingredients, do we even have anything?❜
― 🜺 ― If by 'easy' he meant 'time-consuming but worth it', then Megumi would be correct there. Now his mind was awash with the floating list of spices, ingredients, and preparation methods at full speed. Flour, milk, eggs. . . cheese. The only thing they might have really needed was pepperoni and other kinds of meats and vegetables. Shiitake, for sure, but did Megumi even like shiitake? What about mayo? Shrimp? Their possibilities were endless and their night was soon to join along.
" We've got enough for the pizza itself, we just need to stop for the meats! " Yuji stepped forward, nudging Megumi's shoulder in playful jabs. " It'll take a while to cook but with how tired we are I bet it won't even feel like that long. Right? Everything's good with you? You aren't hurt or anything? "

" Ah! " alleviating his embarrassment, Yuji leaned forward with an open mouth, taking a large bite of the fruit still warmed by her hold. After standing back to his fullest height, he finally gave her a real response. Giggling. But a response regardless. " You're a ― P E A C H I E ! Thank you for the food! "

Her full attention was on Yuji the moment he appeared , overcome with a blend of cheerfulness that matched his and curiosity for what was happening at the current moment .
He wanted her to guess what was in his bag ? The corners of her lips curved in a delighted smile . Teru loved guessing . She did it with everything all the time ! As usual , she started the process of elimination , which began first with any and all inanimate objects . It was a sure and swift deduction this time around , in view of the fact that the bag was clearly —
“ Moving ? It’s moving ! You can’t be serious ! ” The peculiarity of this situation thrilled her beyond her original fervor of excitement . Really ! What had he shoved in there ? The girl brought herself closer to her friend , nearly pressing herself against him to get a better feel of what was inside the bag . “ It’s alive ! It’s — It’s a small animal ! A squirrel — ? No ! It’s — ”
It was right there at the tip of her tongue , yet the guessing timer surely ran out at the sound of a small and sudden yap ! Because how wouldn’t that give it away ? Unable to hold herself any longer , Teru’s eager hands slithered their way into the bag to quickly seize its occupant .
“ Yuji-kun ! Ah ! How — Where did you find a puppy !? ”
― 🜺 ― There it was. The smile that pierced the veil of a cloudy sky, sending his heart racing with her every reaction ― most especially so when he was spoken to in such familiarity. The sort that even his friends didn't call out to him with, that unfamiliar '-kun'. Truthfully, all thoughts of the dog he'd found very nearly slipped his mind at that moment. If not for its pitched cries and wriggling, he may have even allowed for the bag to drop in his hands. Instead, his heart beckons him to hold tighter, perhaps even tempt his luck by using the same familiar language to see if she would notice.
Snuggling the pup closer to prevent its fall, he parted his lips in trepidation for the risk he was about to take ―
" I found him under the overpass, Teru-chan. " a half truth, as he'd saved the dog from a particularly nasty spirit, shaking and scared, but otherwise uninjured. He presses on, as naturally as he could, stepping closer to watch both Teru and the dog. " A bit messy, but I think they must have been owned by someone really recently. I was gonna take it to a shelter but I couldn't find one so. . . Ah, you mind helping me out? I can't keep it where I am. "
Though he'd hate to put the pressure of taking in the dog on her, he also didn't want to risk having it at the school. The only option was to take it somewhere safest, much like he knew he'd have to do for Teru-chan eventually.

I do have a strong feeling that Yuji will not survive this manga. I do think he’s gonna die after kenjaku is defeated and they find the rest of sukuna’s fingers. i do think he’ll die before 16 and open his eyes in the afterlife to be surrounded by the friends he’d lost. Seeing his grandpa and father last and accepting a big hug from both of them. telling him he did well, being proud of him, telling him he’s loved...
that is why I have verses where he gets to seal sukuna and live out his life like he deserves. thats my ‘happy end’ verse but he still has ptsd and still fights curses and all that while going through college and... yeah
