townie by mitski as a c!fundy song in this essay i will talk about how it’s the father issues the abandonment issues the i’m not gonna be what my daddy wants me to be, for me. the fact that townie is described as THE SELF DESTRUCTIVE FATALISM OF YOUTH…. ANARCHY AGAINST PARENTAL PRINCIPALS.
the way that literally every side every leader that c!fundy has supported or sided with has ultimately let him down and/or hurt him to the point where if he can’t make people smile he will make them cry the we’ve tried hungry and we’ve tried full and nothing seems enough
let’s not even get into the whole chorus of wanting a love that falls as a body from a balcony, the romantic desires that start out as yearning, like the excitement of a first love, but ends in destruction and violence cough cough fundywastaken wedding cough cough i know it’s not canonical but still! the way it fits!! the disaster and pain, the baseball bats and hitting the ground
smoke in my hair I think I’ve had enough but he wants a finale and I came prepared. c!fundy backstabbing l’manberg along with niki on the day of doomsday aka the finale of the vengeance era, after finally having enough.
if i wrote about every single person, leaders specifically, that c!fundy has ever cared about and supported, only to have them let him down and hurt him we would have a whole new post about abandonment issues. but thinking about I’ve tried sharing and I’ve tried caring and I’ve tried putting out in the context of exactly how many times the above’s happened.
and change, change, change is gonna come, but when, when, when? the way that it’s just one side after another one conflict after another, a new leader to replace the last and no change to the cycle of war no matter what.
