════ ⋆★⋆ This caught the rodent’s attention, especially when the towering demon placed those rather gentle hands under their chin. Wide eyes carefully observed the other, ears high and alert. It was the way this demon walked up to them in a… non threatening manner that caught the lab rats attention. Their own monstrous claws twitching about, a look of confusion on their face.
Should… they be concerned?
When asked about their weight, bright hot pink eyes glanced down to look at their rather… lanky body. It was best to not do anything to make this stranger angry or upset. Who knew what she was capable of. With a curl of their two pairs of tails, Ash focused on her once again.
" ι... нaven' eхacтly eaтen aѕ мυcн aѕ ι'м ѕυppoѕe тa'... " They replied, now fiddling with their fingers. " ιn ғacт... ι don' нave тнe мoney тo вυy ѕoмe... " They did wander around Pentagram City for a while now, trying to survive. Or… look for a job.

════ ⋆★⋆ The amount of little pups that squeaked and nibbled on his tails were enough to make the rodent even more confused than he already was. Shifting his tails just a little bit, making sure to not make any of the pups fall or stumble, he could tell his tails were looking at one another. Trying to think about what to do. Yes, Rosie and Posie have a mind of their own… they weren’t exactly the smartest, but were connected to the lab rats body.
Just when he was about to speak, he heard someone call out for them. His ears high and alert, staring at… is that a walking and talking egg coming towards him? Oh, he was not expecting this, but did it intrigued him. " oн... ѕo тнeѕe lιттle gυyѕ вelong тo yoυ? " Asked the rat demon, who glanced down once again to see the tails helping one another pick each pup up.
" yoυ're welcoмe... тнey ѕυddenly aттacнed тнeмѕelveѕ on мy тaιlѕ... ι don'т ĸnow wнaт тнey wanт вυт, нere leт мe тry and pιcĸ υp a ғew ғor ya'. " Using his large claws, he needs to be careful… but with the size of his hands… it might be impossible for him to pick them up.
" υнн... ι can'т pιcĸ eм' υp ѕadly... вυт roѕιe and poѕιe мιgнт нelp wιтн тнaт... rιgнт gυyѕ? " The two pink creatures were distracted, one of them would gently nuzzle the pups. Keeping them close.

Eventually leading him to spiral down in his mind. The lab rat was seen to be a wandering demon, having nowhere to go. With a sigh, he stopped moving his long thin legs. He was planning to get himself a job… but would that be enough to get a decent apartment around here? It didn’t hurt to try… whatever he can to at least get a roof over his head. All that mattered was he’s free now. No more worries of going back into a small ass cage. Or being poked… and more. What he didn’t know… was his tails eventually making confused squeaking sounds that made him quickly turn around. Large eyes glanced over at his tails, who were covered by a few colorful yet small fluffy creatures.
His body flinched.

How did they get here? What were they anyway? The rat demon saw his tails staring at the little fluffy snakes slither around, and making all sorts of demanding noises.

♡♤♡ Cry? So is that what the gray face stranger wanted.
With a twitch of his spade, the jester removed his face from his hands. Glancing over to the other, who was looming over him. As the tears continued to stream down his cheeks, a look of determination in his eyes. He wasn’t going to let a stranger knock him down with force or a tug on his tail hard enough to make him cry. As it may flood his head with painful memories.
It didn’t stop him from smiling.
A grin escaped his lips, giving the other a friendly look. " ιѕ тнαт ѕσ? ∂σєѕ му ѕα∂ηєѕѕ мαкє уσυ нαρρу? ιƒ ѕσ. ι'м αƒяαι∂ ι ¢αηησт gινє уσυ тнαт ωιѕн. " He quickly stood up, looking delighted as ever. He walked closer to the grey demon. thick wires, barbed or not, cross your body, tangled and bent. your body has adjusted to the ache, although sometimes your keeper tightens them and you have to adjust once again. please do not adjust. let your blood boil, and bide your time. tighten your relations, making new ropes, soft and sweet. when the time is right, and you MUST make sure it is, cut through the wire. your ropeburn will stay long, perhaps even forever, but that is normal. keep that in your mind.

you have given too much, taken too little. your heart hurts, aching for something your blood burns to refuse. do not give into your blood. your heart needs what it asks for. try looking in the mirror, and trace the patterns of yourself you like the most. if you cant do that, look at the sunset, or the sunrise if youd prefer.

The anon sneaks up on the jester and yanked his tail just to see his reaction.
♡♤♡ Standing near the sidewalk minding his own business, or perhaps looking at the demonic looking insect that flew past him, he soon felt a painful sting that made his whole body jolt up in the most unbearable manner. He stood still, his breath hitched making a loud shriek in the process. Without thinking he tried running away, but his tail was held by the grey demon. A whimper escaped him it got worse when bolting away. Eventually his string-like tail was let go, making the imp demon fall right onto the concrete floor.
He could still feel the harsh sting on his lower body, burning, pounding. It was… something he faintly remembered… something that stayed with him for a while… the memories began flooding back, making the fool shiver. A characteristic that did not fit him well.
Fear.
Quickly backing away, his eyes widened with shock. The one he knew who would do something like that would be… but this individual wasn’t him… and yet. His whole body trembled in terror. Lips quivering while he felt tears stream down his face. He did feel… weak… he was always weak wasn’t he? Was the king perhaps right? This fool was nothing but a low peasant?
Silence…
The jester was quiet, which isn’t like him. However, getting himself up, stumbling a few times, his legs shook, running away from the anon to find a safe place to hide. His tail twitched and flailed behind him, running to a nearby alleyway, he hid behind a few large garbage cans, hugging his knees close to his chest while he felt more tears escape from him. Yes, it would be wise to fight back… but the jester wasn’t one for violence! Oh no, no! Violence was not his thing. If that anon was looking for a fight… Jacko wasn’t the right demon. Because this was the opposite reaction any demon wouldn’t do. Is run away like a coward.
The pain lingered, stinged, eventually going numb the longer he stayed… but it hurt whenever he moved… He… was just a jest isn’t he?

Only to clench their fists and take a deep breath, they sighed. Who knows where he came from, but by the looks of it… he was new. Crossing their lengthy limbs to their chest. ♡♤♡ Oh goodness!
So many choices! The jester got a bit overwhelmed because of it! He wasn’t used to seeing such meals, or ever eaten much of it! A lot of them were quite… new to the fool. Back in the medieval times, all the peasants ever had was a piece of bread, water, and a few other things. Rarely ever having a meal that properly filled them. Poking his cheek with a finger, the jester tilted his head. Blinking at the variety of food in front of him.
" єαѕу єησυgн, єαѕу тσ ∂σ! ωнαт єνєя ѕнαℓℓ тнιѕ נєѕтєя ∂σ? "
He stuck his tongue out, he accepted the plate given by the prince. Giving him a delighted look, only to turn and face the food choices in front of him. His tail flicked in curiosity, observing the meals closely. " ∂σ єχ¢υѕє мє, ∂єαя ρяιη¢є ƒσя ιт αρρєαяѕ ι'м ησт υѕє∂ тσ тнιѕ! " A giggle escaped him, he still looked happy, but deep down he felt a little unsure. As hungry as he was, he didn’t want to be a burden! It was difficult for Jacko to be nobody’s fool. He was so used to following orders from the king and others, he felt like he always needed to ask permission to do these things. A fear lingering on the back of his head. A hint of whispering that spoke ever so close to where his ears should be…
" ∂єαя ρяιη¢є? "
Jacko paused, turning his head to face Stolas, while holding the plate close to his chest. Leaning forward and tilting his head, a little puffy smile was shown on his face. " ι ∂σ нανє уσυя ρєямιѕѕιση, уєѕ? ι ∂σ υη∂єяѕтαη∂ тнιѕ ιѕ мєαηт ƒσя тнσѕє αяσυη∂! тнιѕ ƒσσℓ ωαηтє∂ тσ вє ѕυяє! ι ∂σ ησт ωαηт тσ вє α вυя∂єη! " Another giggle escaped him, maybe his permission will help reassure the jester it was okay.

It appears he was trying to get away from a bunch of larger demons who decided to pick on the little guys. Squinting, while the demon’s seemed confused, they shrugged it off and walked away.
Not a moment too soon, both his tails curled to face the little reindeer in awe. A few giggles escaped past their thin rows of sharp teeth. Glancing over, the rodent tilted their head to the side. Observing Chopper with those bright reddish-pink eyes.

The loud booming voice was close to the deer demon, sounds of bells jingled from each step. Only to stop just a few feet away. Right in front of Alastor was a tall looking demon, wearing an outfit that is similar to a jester, and it appeared this individual was one. A thin tail was seen to be swaying back and forth while using his tippy toes, hopping in one place as he stared at the radio demon with overflowing excitement.
" α ρℓєαѕυяє! α ρℓєαѕυяє ιт ιѕ тσ ƒιηαℓℓу мєєт уσυ! σн нαρρу σηє! тнє ѕмιℓє уσυ ωєαя υρση тнαт ƒα¢є ιѕ ¢σηтαgισυѕ ησηє тнє ℓєѕѕ! "
Such a devilish grin like that holds so many secrets, so many stories. How the fool would lean over to listen to whatever demon mentioning Alastor’s title, listening to every detail. He wondered, he pondered! What is the radio demon like? What does he do? Oh, but how can the jester contain himself by that smile! A smile that holds so much emotion, he who never frowned. It amazes him to no end! The imp demon kept his distance, giving the radio demon a bow, when doing so the bells jangled, returning back to his original posture.
Clasping his hands together while he observed the radio demon, so much red! A color that truly fits the deer demon's nature.

A squeak can be heard from the lab rat while bending their knees to reach at Shard’s level, nuzzling their fuzzy cheek against his head. Holding their sibling gave them a sense of comfort.

Curious eyes observed the rabbit demon. Only to give him a reassuring smile, the sizable claw reached to give him a gentle pat on the head. Massaging the scalp, a chuckle escaped them. " yoυ're ғιne... вeѕιdeѕ, yoυ are ιn no good condιтιon тo вe doιng anyтнιn’. ғor now, ya’ need тo reѕт. " Using their giant claws to lift Shard, careful with him and the wounds, the rodent made their way to the couch. Softly placing Shard onto the soft cushion. " waιт тнere, ι'м geттιn' ya' a glaѕѕ oғ waтer and тнe мedιcιne тo nυмв yoυr paιn. "
Just as Ash turned heels to get everything they needed for Shard, they stopped. A turn of their head to face the rabbit demon. Giving him a friendly and caring glance. With a nod, their tails were seen to give Shard happy squeaks here and there. That… melted Ash’s heart.

════ ⋆★⋆ Sounds of chitter can be heard inside the little apartment, thankfully Ash manages to get a decent job to help pay for the supplies they needed, it wasn’t exactly enough for the bills per se, but it helps. Doing their best to support him whenever they can.
There in the middle of the apartment, the lab rat places the bag of goodies on the table. Their tails swished in joy. Turning their head around, he fixed his posture.
" нey, lιттle вro? are ya' нere? ι'м вacĸ ғroм тнe grocery ѕтore ! ι alѕo dιdn'т ғorgeт aвoυт тнoѕe paιn ĸιllerѕ ya' aѕĸed ғor! "
Ever since what happened with Shard, Ash became very protective, they knew Shard was able to protect himself, but there were some stronger demons out there who’ll hurt him. Since one did, never had the rodent felt so vicious towards the individual. A worse hatred they had that wasn’t their creator.
