When it comes to Chaggie I really like the second option. I like the idea of them having a proper fight of their own valid reasons. It gives them more depth and I think development.

Also having them take a break in favor of the hotel’s safety is also a great choice cuz it gives Charlie time really think about her relationship with Vaggie and maybe realize she just can’t be in a relationship with her anymore but still cares about her.

It could be a mutual breakup, one they both come to their own conclusion cuz you can love someone so much and have it still not work out.

Because while it would technically mean more work from me writing-wise, I really do wish the show had let that plot point of Vaggie's past getting revealed hit harder and have more consequences for them, especially since Vaggie's writing already nuked a lot of opportunities for her to really show depth of character :')

I also really want to dig more into her military-esque past since that seems to affect her mindset quite a lot still. She's still following that mindset of chasing a single directive with an almost tunnel-vision-like dedication - so maybe she still considers herself a tool to be made use of for one cause or another, and I think there's a lot of potential in exploring her finding herself as a person outside of Charlie once they separated.

I'm ngl at this point I'm half considering trying my hand at writing a separate fic written from Vaggie's POV where I explore exactly that, but I'm already struggling getting any of my writing for this fandom postable that it's unlikely I'll ever get to it :'DD

It's fine to be that guy! That is a valid question to ask!

I'm undecided still atm but these are the two options I'm considering:

They were never together to begin with and I have it play out as one-sided attraction (i.e. Vaggie in love with Charlie, but Charlie doesn't reciprocate) - this would be the easier option, but also offers less in terms of mutual character development potential imho

Add a soft rewrite of episode 7 and 8 so they have a proper argument about their situation (Vaggie would in this case be - rightfully - upset with Charlie for making a reckless deal with Alastor, while Charlie is still upset with Vaggie for lying about her origins to her for 3 years), which they then decide to temporarily shelf for the sake of prioritizing protecting the hotel, but after all that is said and done they break up, both of them needing time to really process everything that had just happened between them.

Ultimately they won't be a couple by the time Dawn happens either way, I'm just indecisive about the details of precisely how I that to play out.

I brought this up to a friend on discord too (he's helped me plenty with snowballing ideas for this AU before) and he made a counter-suggestion of her having a bit of a southern drawl bc chances are Alastor might actually drop the transatlantic accent around her if he gets comfortable/tired enough

Simultaneously I think there's also a good chance she picks up some slang and pronounciations from Angel Dust as well

All in all coming together in what might be the strangest mix of accents in all of hell :'DD

I'm ngl I struggle imagining it (doesn't help that I don't really have a voice claim for her either) but it's still fun to think about the different influences the people around her might have on her <3

All the art of dawn is so friggin cute. Seeing her be absolutely feral made me wonder how vox would react to alastor having a kid now. For some reason i imagine dawn would kick him in the shin. Dunno why

Oh yeah I technically already cut into how she'd feel about Vox back here when someone asked about it since I drew her wearing a shark onesie (she just likes animals with sharp teeth really), but I feel like if they were to actually meet, Vox would quickly learn that she got Raised Right™

I like to think her full demon form didn't really come out until she hit the late toddler age range? It certainly reminds both parents that this child they're raising is - in fact - a demon through and through :'D

Vaggie: Mage of Light (I really desperately wanted her to be a knight tbh but I couldn't really find the right aspect to match her with that class in a way that made sense...)

Angel Dust: I sadly don't know what exact aspect he would be, but I feel like he'd be either an heir or a page?

Husk: Whatever class he may embody, his aspect either has got to be light or doom. Maybe a prince of light? i.e. someone who destroys luck/illumination/fortune/truth

Niffty: maid of void maybe?

Sir Pentious: Also no idea unfortunately :') Maybe blood, since his bonds with the hotel residents and the sacrificial nature of his death to preserve their safety could work with that to a degree.

Charlie for the most part just lets her be - uncharacteristic of her, when she's normally the stricter parent! She remembers all too clearly having had a similar phase and she'd feel like a hypocrite if she tried to undercut it unnecessarily. Her father had tried doing that and, if anything, only prolonged it by inciting her spite.

The only line she draws are more intense kinds of body mods. Most piercings can grow closed again, but stretched ones for example might never be the same again - and given how Dawn and her parents are practically immortal since they don't keep aging past a certain point, that is just an awfully long time to live with the permanent consequences of reckless teenhood.

Alastor meanwhile is not a fan of this new style at all and, frankly, feels a little bit disrespected by her attempt to visually distance herself from her parents so harshly - and while he'd never admit it, it's in part because he fears losing the bond he had with her long-term.

She's always been particularly attached to him, looked up to him like an idol - and now that she's getting older he might have a bit of trouble accepting that his little girl is slowly growing much more independent. Him nagging her so much about this is obviously not helping that, so it's a bit of a learning curve in a lesson about tolerance for both of them.
