Papa... - I randomly made this connection btwn these scenes and of course I had to draw it. I think I've never shared my thoughts about Sakumo's death, so now I will.

I have strong feelings for this character, at the moment he is my favourite, and when I see someone ranting about how he neglected Kakashi, how he didn't arrange stuff for his future before he killed himself, I am a little angry. You are allowed to have your opinion, don't get me wrong, but I think people just lack empathy sometimes.

Don't you think some people are just not built to endure so much psychological pain and hurt? Some people are not here to live in this world to feel so bad, and they just can't take it. So, I think they have all the right to quit. It's their life, their choice.

And now you can say, but Sakumo had a kid, he had responsibilities.

Well, yes. But he couldn't know he will be the hate target of the whole village when he decided to have a child. He was never ever bullied and hurt so hard before that unfortunate mission. He did not know there is a kind of pain he wouldn't be able to process.

And to the part that he didn't do anything to help Kakashi get by later: I strongly believe Sakumo did not want to die until the last moment, and he himself wasn't aware that he will be able to do it. His suicidal thoughts just kept swirling around in his head until a point that his mind collapsed and he did it. He loved his son, he did not want to leave him. If he planned his death, of course would have done everything so Kakashi has it all easier. But I guess that's just not how taking your life works.

So yeah. Empathy. Please be empathetic towards people who did what Sakumo has done. It's not their fault that they couldn't be strong enough.

Hello everyone! @kanekolinkk here, the mod of this event ❤️ In a nutshell, I really love Madara and Sakumo, and love their ship even more, as well as their little family with their two sons Obito and Kakashi… so I decided to host an event for them! And what would be a better occasion than Sakumo’s birthday? Let’s create for these old men and have fun together :D

2. Prizes if you participate

If you decide to join my event, 3 of you will have a chance to win a commission by me (any characters)! I will do a raffle with every participant after the late entry period is over, and with a random generator I will choose 3 winners! So, everyone has the same chance to win. I would like to appreciate your time creating for this :))

1st winner: a fully colored commission, up to 2 characters, full body

2nd winner: a flat colored commission, up to 2 characters, full body

3rd winner: a sketch commission, up to 2 characters, full body

3. What is allowed?

There’s some important things to keep in mind if you would like to join this event:

- Drawings or writings. (For drawings: please don’t disrespect other participants with entering with stickmen, after all there’s a prize. For writing: min. 300 words)

- As a ship only MadaKumo is allowed, after all the event is about them.

- But! You can create for them separately, with other characters showing up as well. The event wants to appreciate them and if a prompt fits only Sakumo or only Madara in your head, I don’t want to stop you 💖 Draw them with their friends, kids, pets, whatever your idea is!

- Light or implied NSFW is allowed, with censoring if needed!
