MC and Toa watch the stars in the sky on a cloudless night. Toa wraps an arm around MC to ward off the chill.

Toa: I did not observe the stars like this as a child. There was always something else pressing—a lesson, a duty, a solemn task to be done. In secret, I’d watch the stars from my bedroom.

He sighs, speaking so softly MC can barely hear him. I had a pillow though. I clung to it and often pretended it was someone to watch with me.

MC: Squeezes his hand. You aren’t alone anymore. I am here—to watch clouds, constellations, anything that brings you comfort.

Toa: Turns to face MC. Then let me watch you instead.

The wind blows MC’s hair across their forehead. Toa gazes at MC with the softest of smiles, tucking a stand of hair behind MC’s ear.
