Rin probably learned from Kaede how to interact as a mother with that hug thing, as I doubt her home village taught her and she was likely orphaned years before she’d fully understand such nuances from her mother.

I don't think its down to one person though definitely Kaede would have told her. Its more like the general culture Rin grew up with. She might have also learned from Sango since she also came from a warrior class.

Sesshomaru and Inuyasha being Girl Dads will never not be amusing to me. So yes, people have always shipped them!

20 year old Rin ilysm

(The demon/human cultural dissonance of Rin wanting to learn self defence so that she "doesn't have to rely of Lord Sesshomaru". To demons, the stronger ones in the clan protect the weaker ones and that's how it's supposed to be. The idea of Rin not wanting to be a burden doesn't quite compute to poor Sesshomaru. He's like tf? does she not think me capable any more ?? What have I done to lose her faith ??? )

Yeah I have some favourite characters.

What I'm really appreciating this re-watch is how Rin is canonically a Weird Girl. I like to think that everyone expects her to become more Normal™ after coming to the village and getting more human socialization but gradually realize that oh. that's just the way she is.
