[One-Shot]
Let Him Know — Park Jimin
Tumblr media
✔︎ Summary: Jimin is tired of seeing you suffer; he is done with watching you cry over men that don’t deserve you. And he is especially sick of seeing your self-stem being hurt every time you find them cheating on you or leaving. So, he takes the problem on his hands one last time and decides to make you feel better in his own way.
✔︎ Trope: Exes to lovers, exboyfriend! bestfriend! Jimin x female! Reader, smut. (it will make sense once you read their story I swear)
✔︎ Inspired by: Let Em' know, Exchange and Don't all by Bryson Tiller (basically the entirety of bryson's discography lol)
✔︎ Word count: 3.6k
✔︎ Warnings: Cheating, low self-stem, mentions of toxic relationships, possessive jimin. Dub-con, body restrictions, slight knife play, panty sniffing, oral sx (f receiving), over stimulation, crying, dirty talk, praise, fingering, somnophilia, male mastubation, no aftercare.
✔︎ thvlouvre's note: remember when I said I didn't have much experience with smut? yeah, this one shot feels a little unfinished for me... still the freakiest thing I've done, I need to go to church, byeeeeeeeee.
Tumblr media
Jimin’s jaw was clenching in anger, his knuckles cracking every time he clenched them.
You were breaking down on the elevator, hands covering you face with shame while you cry your heart out, tears falling endlessly down your cheeks and the glimpse of face he could see under the places your small hand couldn’t hide he could see red fluffiness.
It all started with you and Jimin coming back to the office, where you, him and your boyfriend work. The three of you had made a reservation that Friday night on a jazz club in downtown, so you all could have a few drinks and hang out together. Your boyfriend had said in the last minute that he couldn’t go, since he was tired, and his mom was out of town and he needed to go to her house and check the cats.
You both believe him, and just when you and Jimin were halfway to the jazz club you came back because you had forgotten to give your boyfriend the apartment keys, you both found him fucking the marketing girl on your desk. The one that was in the middle of Jimin’s desk and his own. You throw his keys to his head to catch his attention and leave, Jimin following you disgusted with the sight of the imbecile trying to put back on his pants, shouting your name.
You didn’t want to go home, since probably your boyfriend would go to your apartment looking for you, and obviously you wouldn’t go to his so you ended up on a silence ride to Jimin’s flat.
While he drove all the way to his apartment, he reminiscences the beginnings of your relationship with him. You and Jimin had met when you both started college, you instantly clicked, the type of friends that would always end each other’s sentences and knew the other better than the palm of their hand. Some other friends of yours would always say that there was some chemistry between the two of you, a tension anyone could feel.
So, after six months of being best friends, you went for it. Gave each other a chance.
It was a disaster, unfortunately you dated Jimin when he was going through a hard period of his life. He didn’t give the attention you needed, the affection you deserved and even when you always let him know you could never hate him for anything he could do to you, you were surprised when you found out he wasn’t exclusive to you during the month you both were together.
You ended the situation. That’s what you used to call it, because maybe for you it was an experiment to see if you could see him as something more than a friend, but for him it was real. No matter how awful he acted towards you during your relationship. You went back to being friends, “We work better as friends” that’s what you have said to him to make Jimin feel less guilty, so he thought that giving you sometime for yourself would work. He would become a better man for you for the next time you give him a shot.
That shot never came.
You started to date guy after guy after guy, and he was your number one beholder for every single failed relationship. Years went by, and he still hold hope dear close to his chest knowing that there would be enough space and forgiveness for him in your heart once again.
But Jimin was starting to lose his patience, for every tear you ever drop he had been there. For every unfaithful man that ever had the audacity to betray your trust, he was there. For every heart piece they ever broke he was there to pick them up. But what hurts him the most is see how you have lost your confidence wondering if it’s you the one that’s cursed or there was indeed something wrong with you.
“Is there something wrong with me?” You asked in between moans, the tears blurring your sight so you could only see shadows and sparks of light in the darkness of the car.
He did not answer, his heart already aching and his hands holding tightly the driver as he wish he could speak softly to you, but Jimin knew that if he talks now he would lose it.
“Am I ugly?” You kept silence waiting for a response of his, all he could do was deny with his head “Am I annoying? Am I a bad person? Am I a bad lover?” He kept moving his head aggressively denying everything.
“No, __. There’s nothing wrong with you.”
“Then why I can’t make anyone happy enough to stay with me? To choose me and be loyal?” You didn’t wait for him to answer, you just broke down sobbing and hiding your face with your hands.
Because men are stupid. He was stupid once, those two months where you and him were together were the happiest shiniest of his life and yet he somehow managed to screw it up and turn his problems against you. You, the one and only person that knew him and the things he was facing, you the person that had always hold his back. He had the nerve to cheat on you and being the first name on the list of men who mistreated you.
He hated himself for it. And even if you forgave him, he hadn’t.
“You can take my room” he said once you arrived to his house, in several occasions you and him sleep together innocently, but this time he wouldn’t be forcing you to sleep on his bed with him because you needed time alone “I’ll take the couch”
“It will be just for tonight, I’ll change the lock of my house tomorrow” you said in a low voice tone, arms crossed in front of you like hugging yourself. His heart felt heavy when he was making dinner and you showed up on his kitchen fresh out of the shower with one of his cottons t-shirts, but your eyes were inked in blood, you cried in the shower.
You two ate in silence, watching a comedy movie. You could feel his fingers going up and down to your thighs, massaging them, trying to make you feel better. One thing about Jimin is that he will always give you contradictory messages, just when you would think you were over him and his two-month situationship that happened years ago, he will always show you moments of how he used to be with you.
Foot massages, movie nights, surprising you with a cake after a work meeting, ordering clothes that he saw online and thought they would look good on you.  But he was always respectful to you, never crossing the line of friends ever again after you two broke up.
You finally feel asleep after you cried for a whole hour, tears dried out on Jimin’s pillow, and you thought you were discreet with your sobs, but your best friend had heard each of them. He stayed on the couch, TV on but muted. He was staring at the screen but watching nothing, he was just abstracted in his own thoughts. Anger and frustration boiling the blood on his veins, wondering what he could do to make you feel better.
You wake to a sensation of restriction in your body, your late-night dream suddenly interrupted and forgotten as soon as you realize you’re still inside Jimin’s room, but there was a light turn on in a corner, and Jimin himself was standing in front of you, pacing from side to side like a tiger inside a cage.
You could feel your arms being forced one down to other in a restraining position; the cold breeze of the air greeted your body and you also notice that the blankets that covered your body were gone now. And you started to move your legs in protest when you finally realized what was happening. It took you about twenty seconds to connect the dots and see what he was doing. He tied you up.
“What is going on?” you asked, raspy voice cracking in nervousness since you were actually freaking out, but one part of you deep inside knew that Jimin would never harm you.
All the contrary, what Jimin wanted to do with you was to make you feel better, and to make himself a little relief that he could make you stop crying, from sorrow at least. He was also very angry still, it hurt him deeply to see how you were doubting yourself, how your strength and self-stem was being destroy by a stupid man; so he had two choices for that night, either going to that scumbag house and beat the audacity out of him, until Jimin’s knuckles were bleeding and he no longer had any strength left on his body and the idiot was barely breathing or, give you pleasure.
His number one priority that night was to make you stop crying, because the more he heard your cried, the angrier he gets. A reasonable voice in the back of his head was telling him to stop, to not proceed to whatever perversity he had in mind, but he was so mad to even care about the consequences, he needed to show you how you should be treated.
“Jimin, what is this? What are you doing?” he could feel the anxiety in your voice, but he told to himself that he was going to release all that angst and stress off your body very, very soon.
“You said some shit you shouldn’t have said, __” he stated, unbuttoning his shirt, his low deep voice tone sounding a little to petulant. You coughed confused and a little outraged, what could you have said to make him so upset?
“Don’t you remember? You telling you’re ugly? That you’re annoying and a bad person?” he pointed at you, knowing it wasn’t your fault to feel that way because you were hurt over your ex’s actions, but still he founded insulting how you were talking to yourself “Why are you even doubting yourself? Because of that asshole?”
You stayed silence, not knowing what he really wanted to hear and fear to make him even more upset.
“Not tonight, baby. You’re not crying for that bastard” he started to walk towards the bed and kneel in between your legs, and in your short sight you could see something silver and shiny on his left hand.
The moonlight was leaking through the curtains, and in his open shirt you could see the shadows and the lights that marks the cusp of his abs. His body was always something forbidden and delicious you wanted to taste, even before your situationship, you have always been week for his physique. His delicious and exquisite tonified body. You would dare to say that you tried to look for that in the other boys you’ve been with, a similar physique.
He moved the scissors on his hand to your right thigh, caressing the skin with the cold metal and you started to get afraid of him.
“What are you doing?”
“Removing your shirt” he smiled devilish, the moonshine covering the left side of his face “Or should I say my shirt?”
“Jimin get off me, please. This isn’t right” you started to deny but it was all too late, when the scissors finally ripped the shirt open showing your naked torso for him and the cusp in between your legs he could already see the wet spot in your panties.
“This isn’t right, but it will feel so good, I promise” he whispered once he could finally take your panties of and sniff them. He has missed your smell and the taste of you, one of the things he would never forget not even when he becomes an old and resentful man would be the taste of your cunt. He inhales deeply once he takes the chance to stare at your naked body.
Finally, after all these years, he can see you bare again. His shirt ripped open, the slacks falling down your sides, your arms wrapped and tied to his bed headboard and your legs open for him.
“Goodness, look at you…” he growls licking his lips, and you could feel his eyes everywhere “Gorgeous pair of tits, ass to die for, tiny waist and that fucking pussy…”
“Jimin, please…” you didn’t know for what you were begging now, for him to stop or for him to stop teasing and eat you out already. However, he took your cries as a forward sing and his head fell in between your folds.  He started slow, kissing and pecking your lips with adoration, making you wetter for him if possible, the breath of his crashing to the sensitive skin of your vulva and making you shiver.
“Jimin!” you scream desperate, pleading him to put his whole mouth and start sucking just the way you wanted.
“What baby?” he asked innocently, finally relieved that your mind was thinking something else besides your tragedy “You want more?” and you nodded in response. You moan madly, making sure to wake up his entire floor when he sucked and bite one of your lips. You felt him smirking against your cunt, and he continued his attack on your pussy as if the men haven’t got a good round of oral sex in decades. And the funny thing was that he was just getting started, he could feel how close you were when your belly started shaking and your legs were kicking the air, but he wouldn’t stop.
“I won’t stop” he said in between kisses and lickings to your soft, domesticated pussy “I won’t stop until you have come so many times the tears rolling down your cheeks are from pleasure and not sadness” and when you started to come for the first time, he started to lick the juices of your first orgasm of the night like a little kitten.
“Uhmm, you taste so good, how can anyone cheat on this pussy?” he prologues your orgasm when he entered his tongue on your hole and pass it all the way to your clit like a credit card, and when all he could hear was your cries and sobs from pleasure he found a moment to say “This is how you should be treated, beautiful. Crying every day before sleeping but of how many times you have come, not because someone is making you suffer.”
He entered his tongue and he wished he could replace the hardness of his tongue with his cock, but that night was all about you, your pleasure, you feeling better, you knowing you were beautiful, not him. No matter how much he wanted to sink his dick on you and make you scream his name. If Jimin could fuck you right now, he would call your ex over the phone, put the call on speaker and let him know how good you were being fucked.
“If this pussy was mine, I would eat it every single day, twice a day. You would limp perpetually because I wouldn’t let that pain leave your cunt” you moaned to his words, to his tongue and the way his lips curved when he was talking against your folds.
“He made the biggest mistake of his life, that poor miserable idiot” his sight was locked on the juices that were falling down your legs and leaking down your ass cheeks following your second orgasm “You will have him regretting everything in the next forty eight hours if not less, and he will realize he just lost the most beautiful, sweet and smart woman that has ever walked this planet, you’re such a blessing to have around, __” and in between his hard sucks and bites to your vagina, he pecked your entrance devotedly as if it was the entrance to an altar.
“He will kneel every night to the foot of his bed, praying on God for you to forgive him and give him another chance, he will ask God to make him a better man, someone that deserves you…” even in your mind-breaking, life-changing, religious experience stimulation you were having, you still found some lucidity to notice that Jimin was projecting himself on your ex.
“No men on this planet deserves you, __. But if someone is going to marry you that’s going to be me” and with that he stopped his monologue and started to fuck you with his face, sniffing, inhaling, licking, and sucking the smell and taste of your vertex as if it was the life elixir.
You were reaching the climax for a third time, when you heard Jimin saying something in the distance. You didn’t answer to anything he could be asking, the feeling of pleasure being too distracting for you to pay attention to him. He stops kissing your middle, and death stares you. You cry in protest, waving your hips to his face.
“I asked you something” he spitted.
“What’” you could barely articulate.
“Say you’re beautiful.” He smiled, looking at you like the crying mess you were. “You’re beautiful” you say moving your hips to the direction of his face. He spanks the soft flesh of your legs, anger.
“You think I’m stupid? You got to say ‘I’m beautiful’” he starts to enter a finger in you, and you understood his motive for you to say what you needed to say,
“I’m beautiful” you whispered, trying to catch air when his fingers reached a new spot in your cabins.
“You don’t sound so convinced, pretty. I might stop if this isn’t working” he teased but the idea of stop the pleasure drove you crazy and you found yourself screaming “No! Please, Jimin! I get it, I’m beautiful!”
“Again” he demanded, his mouth attacking the abused pink flesh once again.
“I’m beautiful!” you shouted.
“Again!” he growls, his voice echoing his whole bedroom.
“I’m beautiful, I’m so fucking pretty, so, so gorgeous” you lost your patience and screamed whatever synonym that could work for him. He smiled when he finally had you repeating those words like a mantra, again and again.
You came three more times. You were sleepy and profoundly relaxed when he was finally satisfied with the crying mess you were to his sight. His boner could have never been bigger, and his mind could have never been blurrier, so he sticks out his cock and starts jerking off with the view of you naked, tied and sleepy, adding one more sin to the list.
And that’s when it hit him, what he had done. He stood up from his bed as soon as it hits him, separating his body to yours like you were on fired and he felt the shame roam his body. What had he done? He rushed to undo the knots on your wrists and let the circulation in your arms run after he briefly massages them. He covers your body with the blanket again, and turn the lights down, closing the door softly to not wake you up.
He was panicking, the feeling of crossing that line he had carefully trace and respect all these years was again in his throat, not letting him breath. What if you reclaim him in the morning? He could deny everything, tell you it was a bad dream and gaslight you, but it would make him even a worst man. No, he would face you and let you kick his ass.
You wake up again, the sunlight covering your face and you could feel noise on the other side of the door. You started to remember what happen during the a.m., how he entered the room and tied you when you were still asleep. How he devoured you and make you scream not just his name but your own followed in praises.
You notice your bare body under the duvet and the smell of sex his mattress radiated. His ripped shirt was gone and in the bureau there was a pajama set, a red stripped pants and a grey shirt. You put them on and prepared to go outside and face him. For a reason you felt ashamed, you were so lust driven last night, you never stopped thinking he was your best friend and that he was crossing boundaries without your consent. But at some point, he ended having your consent, you were begging for it.
“Hi” he shyly greeted you; he was making breakfast but his body freezes when he sees you, eggs getting fried in the pan his left hand was holding “Good morning” he whispered.
“Good morning” you responded; the sound of boiling oil filled the awkward silence between you too. You wondered in the memories of what he did to you, and you indeed felt better now. The last of your worries was your cheating boyfriend and now was to come clear with your friend.
“I’m so sorry” he finally speaks, loud and clear “I don’t know what happened to me last night, I just know I wanted to make you forget but I promise it won’t happened again, I hope you can forgive me, there’s no excuse for my behavior last night I-I”
“There’s nothing for you to be sorry, what happened last night was… amazing, and maybe you don’t want to do it again, but I’ve never felt more beautiful and praised than last night” Jimin smiled at your words, at the end of the day all he wanted to do was to make you feel better.

✔︎ thvlouvre's p.s. the cover pic is horrible, grammar is not on point and I didn't proof-read it so please, be kind 😭. This is meant to be just smut with a little bit of plot, but I got a block in the middle of the hot scene and it was just better to end it nicely than leave it unpublished, remember english isn't my first language and I am publishing this during my break at work, I have no fear of God. Take care and stream Park Jimin💋

You let out an airy sigh as you enter your home, relieved to finally kick your shoes from your aching feet. You peel off your jacket, hanging the denim on your coat rack. You notice Jungkook still sitting on the couch, just as he was when you left for work this morning. “Hey, honey.” You greet the brunette. “Hey.” He mumbled, his eyes staying glued to the tv screen. You furrow your brows at his lackluster tone, finding his unenthusiastic attitude off putting as he usually greets you at the door, but you chose not to dwell on it. “Where’s Junior?” You keep the conversation moving, venturing towards the kitchen.
“Asleep. Where else?” He says with agitation in his voice, subtly hinting that he wasn’t quite in the mood for talking. He takes a sip from a plastic red cup that you hadn’t spotted in his hand until now. You sense the hostility in the room, so you decide to address it. “Is there a problem?” You ask the brunette, who still refuses to look away from the television. “No,” he burps. “Do you want one?”
You scoff, throwing up your hands as you refuse to argue with him and his random act of rudeness. You focus on the mess that was left in the kitchen, rolling your eyes. Leave it to Jungkook to make a mess and not clean it up. You grab the garbage from the counter, stepping on the peddle of your trash can, the lid popping open.
You notice an empty glass bottle sitting atop of the heap of garbage, and a frown forms your lips. You throw the trash in your hands back to the counter before you grab the glass bottle from the trash, reading over the label. ‘Jack Daniels’. Your cheeks heat up with rage, and you stomp over to Jungkook, slamming the bottle on your coffee table. “What the fuck is this?!” You shout angrily.
Jungkook finally pulls his gaze away from the tv, looking from the bottle to you. “A bottle.” he replies in a snarky manner. “Yeah, that much I fucking gathered. What’s it doing here?” You cross your arms, giving him the 3rd degree.
“I had a friend from my sobriety class come over, and we had a little drink. So what?”
“So what?! You drank the whole fucking bottle, Jungkook. You’re not supposed to be drinking at all, you’re a recovering alcoholic!” The brunette scowls as though he didn’t need your reminder. “I know that.” He slurs a bit, his voice nonchalant. “Then why the hell are you drinking with your sobriety buddy when you should be attentive to our five year old?”
“You know I’ve had a tough week, so give me a fucking break.” He takes another swig of what was in his red cup, which you could only presume to be the rest of the Jack Daniels. “That better not be alcohol in that cup.” You point to the red solo cup. “And if it is?” He glares at you, his eyes glossy.
You huff, stepping around the table to snatch the cup from his grasp but Jungkook is too quick, moving the cup away from you. “Jungkook, give it here.” You demand, reaching for it once more, though it was all to know avail. Fed up, you smack the bottom of the cup, watching it fly out of his hand and hit the floor. “What the fuck is your problem?!” He bellowed, abruptly standing up from the couch.
“No, what’s yours?!” You size him up, not backing away just because he towered over you. “You promised me you changed, but here you are drunk with our son only in the next room! You’re fucking hopeless!”
“I’m hopeless?” He chuckles. “If I’m hopeless then you’re pathetic. Having that damn kid when you know I never fucking wanted him in the first place!” He spat. You felt a pang in your chest, your eyes watering a bit. You refused to let them fall though. Instead you pull your hand back and slap Jungkook across the face. The brunette’s head turned upon impact, and you could see him bite down on his lip ring.
Before you’re able to process what you’ve done, Jungkook lunges at you, knocking you down onto the couch. He straddles you, his hands flying around your throat. You struggle to get him off you, your fists pounding against his chest. The struggle only makes him squeeze tighter, your eyes watering as you lose oxygen.
“Daddy?” The sound of your son’s voice rings in your ears; Jungkook’s grip suddenly loosens, and he finds himself pulling away from you. The look on his face is a look of terror, shame, and sadness as Junior stands there in confusion. Though the child didn’t understand what was going on, it was the mere fact that he was witnessing his father strangle his mother, and that made Jungkook sick to his stomach.
Jungkook looks from the five year old, to you, lying there trying to catch your breath. He runs his fingers through his hair, his eyes brimming with tears. “I’m… I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry.” He shakes his head, standing up from the couch and darting to the front door. He puts on no shoes, or jacket, just opens the door and leaves you there alone with Junior. You sit up from the couch, the tears you wouldn’t let fall finally did so.
Junior approaches your shaking frame, looking up at you with worried eyes. “It’s okay, mommy.”

(In which he is most definitely sick)
↳ Description: being a guest at the Jeon Estate after a mishap of being kidnapped and dragged into your brothers affairs isn’t all that bad. Truth be told it brings you a lot closer to the mobster and owner of the estate Jeon Jungkook himself.
His two rules are simple, don’t cause trouble and don’t give him a hard time. Somehow you manage to constantly do both in the most endearing way despite being pregnant and waddling around most of the time.
↳ Pairing: Jungkook/reader, ???/reader
↳ Genre: slice of life AU, mafia!AU, pregnancy, there’s like…a little bit of a plot but not a lot, future smut? maybe? it's very domestic!

Note: I'm back AGAIN, simply because I can't get enough of these two!!! they're my life line these days tbh! i know I said there wasn't a lot of plot to this BUT....theres definitely some plot if you squint
Tumblr media
“Are you sick?”
Jungkook looked horrendous, it was evident he hadn’t showered yet, as his hair was somewhat oily, wild and unbrushed, his voice was raspy and the moment he greeted you good morning, it was evident he was congested.
“I don’t get sick.” Jungkook replied, but his voice alone gave away the discomfort he was feeling, he sat at the small table attempting to eat but after two bites and the pure agony of attempting to swallow, he gave up.
Your lips parted before closing once more, a sigh escaping you, “If only that were the case,” this had been your concern since he had come home late a few days ago, soaked to the bone and freezing cold.
Yesterday when he had taken you out you noticed he had been sniffling, but aside from that he sounded totally find, today he looks like he had been hit with a car.
Jungkook rolled his eyes, “I have three board meetings today, a stack of paper work in my office that needs to be signed and a deal tonight at the Red Light, I can’t afford to be sick.”
“Jungkook,” You chastised softly, “Do you even hear yourself? I don’t think anybody is gonna want to be around you when you sound like that. What are your symptoms?”
“I’m not-”
“Yes you are!” You spoke over him, your expression shifting into anger at his stubbornness, “whether you like it or not! You’re sick. Now tell me so I can figure out whether I need Jimin to call the doctor or not.”
Jungkook groaned as he leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms in thought before he reluctantly spoke, “My throat feels like it’s on fire. Even speaking feels like I’m swallowing a dagger.”
“And I have a massive headache,” He ushered softly, eyes closing as he rubbed his head.
Your expression softened once more, “Why don’t you go lay down? I’ll call for Jimin to get the doctor and make sure you’re alright,”
“I am alright.” Jungkook replied, puffed up at your words, one glare however shut him up.
He tiredly blinked as he sunk into his seat, “I can’t just take the day off.”
“Then do what you can from bed.” You said with a frown, “But you’ll make others sick and yourself worse if you go out today.”
He said nothing got a long moment before he shook his head and got out of his chair, your eyes followed him across the room until he left, somewhat surprised at his lack of argument.
Yeonjun who had been digging through a folder off to the side briefly glanced up to the closed door and then to you, “That’s a first.”
“Pardon?” You asked.
He smiled, “Jungkook letting someone boss him around. It’s a rather nice change of pace.”
You scratched your cheek, uncertain of how to take the his words, your lack of reply only made Yeonjun continue though, “Y’know he used to..,” He cut himself off, as if realizing it wasn’t his place to meddle, “Sorry, I won’t bring it up. I’m sure neither of you want to dig up the past.”
The past…You gave a sad smile, picking at your food, “It’s alright, there’s nothing to dig up, Jungkook was a nice acquaintance back before I was pregnant, if you could even call him that. Nothing more…Yoongi is his partner, right?”
Yeonjun frowned, looking away warily before he eventually nodded, “You’ve met?”
You shook your head, “Only once, a long time ago, informally might I add.”
“Do you want me to ring for Jimin?” Yeonjun decided to change the subject, “That way you can finish eating?”
You nodded with a grateful smile, “Yes! That would be quite helpful.”
Tumblr media
Jungkook looked downright annoyed as the doctor poked and prodded at him before he had finally come to a conclusion.
Turning to you as it was evident Jungkook was not in a good mood, “The good news is that it’s only a case of tonsillitis.”
You sighed in relief before you asked, “Is there bad news?”
“It’s a bacterial infection, so we’ll need to put him on antibiotics. Lots of rest and warm, soft foods will help, he should be better in a few days at most once the antibiotics are in his system.” The doctor gave a warm smile.
“Few days?” Jungkook’s brows pinched together in annoyance.
“I’ll be sure to keep him rested.” You cut over him with a smile, “Thank you Doctor Choi.”
“Of course Y/n, I will see you on Friday for your check up.” He gave a short bow before existing the room.
“I can’t be in bed for a few days!” Jungkook immediately piped up, though you didn’t miss the slight wince in expression at the obvious pain he was feeling.
“Doctors orders.” You gave him a sweet smile as you held your hands up.
He slumped back, glaring through his bangs at nothing in particular, “Can you at least get my laptop?”
You let out a noise of amusement as you stood up, one hand on your stomach, the other on your dully aching back, “I didn’t realize having strep throat made your legs not work.”
“You want me in bed or not?”
“I’m going, I’m going.” You giggled as you waddled out of the room and into the open space of his office, digging through paperwork you made sure nothing was messed up, before finding his laptop charger and eventually finding the source as well.
Opening the cracked door to his room however you smiled softly as the sight of him laid back down, knocked out once again, a soft snore even escaping him as you tutted, walking over you set his laptop on his nightstand before tenderly pulling his covers back over his shoulder.
His expression looked so delicate when he was asleep, lips parted slightly and brows relaxed, tenderly you brushed your fingers through his hair before catching yourself.
Your hand snapping back to your chest as if it had been burned, swallowing hard you shook your head, you had been thinking about the past a lot more these days.
You couldn’t help but wonder if Jungkook did the same.
Frowning you shook your head before you exited his room, there was no point dwelling on the what-if’s after all.
Tumblr media
Most of the day had gone by quietly, there was something different about the estate when Jungkook was home, even if he was sleeping away or working in his room, his energy still filled the air and brought a comforting feeling to whatever you did.
Eventually the afternoon passed and an idea had overtaken you.
“What are you doing?” Yeonjun paused at the door as he cocked his head to the side, brimming with curiosity.
You turned towards Yeonjun with a grin, “You can’t tell Jungkook.”
He sighed, “I hate when you start a sentence with that.”
You pouted, “I’m making him soup!”
Yeonjun looked relieved, “Oh…okay, better than I anticipated, it does smell good here.” He glanced around the empty kitchen, “But the kitchen staff are already preparing supper.”
You crossed your arms once more, “Well, that doesn’t change that I’m making him something to eat. There’s nothing like home cooking when you’re sick!”
Yeonjun held up his hands, “If it’s from you I’m sure he’ll love it….” He shuffled closer before peering over your shoulder, “Will there be extra?”
“Are you asking for a bowl?” You grinned.
“Only if there’s extra.”
“There’s plenty.” You replied with an excited smile, giving a little happy dance as you grabbed a set of bowls, proudly pouring your soup before handing one to Yeonjun who looked like a little kid snatching it from your hands.
Setting the other bowl on a tray you tided it up with a nice hot ginger plum tea and a few napkins, “Tell me how it tastes! I’m gonna run this up to his room.”
“Don’t you want some?” Yeonjun had already grabbed a spoon, slurping noodles.
You grimaced, “Honestly the taste of chicken broth makes me wanna vomit, back when I had morning sickness the smell alone had me gagging.”
“That’s a shame because this is honestly the best soup I’ve ever had- second actually,” Yeonjun smiled at his bowl, “Reminds me of my mom’s when I was sick as a kid.”
You only smiled at his words before briefly glancing down at your stomach, large and round, you could only hope you’d make the best soup your baby would love one day.
“Well nothing can beat mom’s soup, hopefully it’ll be second best for Jungkook too.” You laughed a little as you walked past Yeonjun, carefully holding the tray.
You didn’t know much about Jungkook, truthfully, sure you had talked pre-pregnancy, but it always…you huffed, shaking your head.
This had been happening more frequently, memories of the past would surface and you’d have to shove them back down, the past was the past for a reason. You could only assume they kept coming up because well…
It was Jungkook.
Knocking on his door you heard a scratchy ‘come in’ before opening the door.
Jungkook was sat up in bed, looking tired as he typed away on his laptop, eyes dragging towards you before you noticed them brighten just a little.
His eyes then dropped to the tray before he stiffened, “Why are you carrying that?”
“I can-” You couldn’t even finish your sentence before Jungkook had already gotten out of bed, swaggering up to you before grabbing the tray.
“Ask Yeonjun next time.” It was difficult to take his chided words serious when he was rasping this hard, a wince visible on his face as he continued, “If you drop that-”
“How many times do I have to tell you,” You huffed, “I’m pregnant, not dying.” Your expression softened a little as a small smile tugged on your lips at the sight of his floppy bangs covering his eyes in a sulky manner, “Lay back down, I made you something to sip on. I always loved warm broth when I was younger.”
Jungkook set the tray on his nightstand as he sat back down at the edge of the bed, staring down at the steaming bowl, his expression nonpulsed for a long moment.
“You do like soup right?” You shuffled a little nervous at his quietness.
“Who the fuck doesn’t like soup?” He quipped, “I just…” He glanced away, “You didn’t have to do that…”
“Of course I did!” You replied immediately, “If I don’t then who will?”
Jungkook parted his lips before closing them, sighing but not saying anything else as he propped his nightstand up, it extended upwards before turning towards him, he paused before taking a sip, “Well don’t just stand there.”
You glanced around the room, not much had changed, a few chairs still against the wall, a particular spot open to the wall, opposite to a mirror on the other side of the room hanging.
“Have you considered redecorating?” You asked as you rounded the bed, choosing to sit beside him on the empty side.
Groaning you rested your back against the headboard as your hands dropped to your stomach.
Jungkook shrugged beside you, “Not much reason too. I thought it looked fine.”
He plopped the spoon in his mouth as his eyes shut. He was never a very expressive person, but there was something about that satisfied look on his face that made you smile.
“It’s alright, it's just…” You trailed off, suddenly feeling as though you weren’t as ready to have this conversation as you thought you were.
“Just what?” Jungkook’s brows furrowed.
You forced a smile as you shook your head, “Nothing.”
The same way you last remembered it.
You glanced at the that small open space of the wall between both the chairs, how cold it felt against your back when…
Jungkook could obviously sense the uncomfortable silence, “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“The soup.”
A somewhat hesitant smile tugged on your lips, “Of course. I’m…” Your smile became disheartened as you stood up, “I’m gonna start preparing for bed, you should get some more rest.”
Jungkook frowned but said nothing, though it looked like he wanted to, he only nodded.
You left his room feeling your feet drag as you closed your eyes, this feeling was something you were used to when it came to him.
This feeling of always dancing around one another, never talking about the tension in the room, except now it was even more evident then before.
You’d have to talk about it eventually.

I’m not familiar with the group but I just wanna say I’m so sorry for the fans and even more so his family, friends and members. I also wanna say, do not feel silly if you are upset. You are allowed to grieve people that you don’t know personally. Whenever stuff like this happens, there are shitty people who go out of their way to try and make people feel stupid for reacting. Ignore them. Again, you are allowed to grieve for people you don’t know personally, there’s nothing silly about that.

It's okay if you're really sad. Some people might dismiss your sadness, but your sadness is valid! It doesn't matter that you didn't know him irl. You're allowed to be sad, and nobody should tell you otherwise!

Your feelings for Jimin were almost instant, as though they were always there from the moment you two had first seen each other.
JANUARY 5, 2019.
When you first met him, snow was falling outside.
Hoseok had invited you over to the dorms, insisting that he needed to treat you to celebrate the big job offer you had gotten. You bought cases of beer and and a box of chicken on the way, together with a rather late housewarming gift for the rest of the members.
"Come in!" Hoseok exclaimed, happily leading you in through the front door.
He walked you straight into his room and helped you out of your thick winter coat before excitedly cracking open 2 cans of beer. He assured you that all of the members were out on their day-off, and that you two wouldn't need to worry about anyone intruding.
He was proven wrong; however, about 2 hours into the little celebration you two were having. You had just grabbed a chicken drumstick from the box while Hoseok raved about a new dance trend when suddenly—the door opened.
And there he was.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, I didn't think you guys would still be here." Jimin said, his expression nothing short of apologetic.
Hoseok quickly shook his head, giving the younger a reassuring smile. "It's alright, Jimin-ie. We were just talking, anyways." He said before briefly glancing toward you. "Oh, have you met my former school hoobae? You guys are the same age."
Upon hearing his remark, Jimin glanced towards you, tilting his head to the side before giving you a smile. "Oh hey, I'm Jimin. Hoseok-hyung's bandmate and roommate."
You smile back and wave, “Hi, I’m (Y/N).”
Little did you know.
MARCH 23, 2019.
When you first talked to Jimin alone, you had just gotten a new haircut.
It was only a few weeks after you first met that you came back to the dorm to spend time with Hoseok. You walked in and politely greeted all of the members before making a beeline for Hoseok's room—expecting only him to be inside. But when you walked in, you were met with Jimin instead.
"Oh, hey." Jimin said as he gave you a small wave from his bed.
He was wearing a white tee shirt and a black pair of shorts, sitting atop his bed with his phone in his hands. He seemed to be resting before you came in, making you feel almost guilty for interrupting.
You waved back at him, flashing him a small smile. "Hey. Sorry—I didn't mean to barge in, I just assumed Hobi-oppa would be here."
This made Jimin chuckle and shake his head. "It's okay, he told me to expect you anyways. He just ran out for awhile to grab some stuff at the convenience store, but he should be back soon." He responded, shrugging at you.
"Oh—alright then."
When he saw that you remained by the door, he cleared his throat before nodding towards Hoseok's bed. "You can sit there while waiting, if you want. I'm sure he wouldn't mind." He added, motioning towards his hyung's bed.
You blinked and nodded, closing the door behind you before walking towards Hoseok's bed. You awkwardly sat down, glancing downwards as you felt the mattress slowly sink beneath you.
"Nice hair, by the way." Jimin suddenly said, surprising you.
"Oh."
The two of you had only met twice beforehand, with both times being rather brief. So, you didn't think he'd notice. But either way, you were slightly flustered upon hearing the remark.
You cleared your throat, the tips of your ears turning a light shade of red. "Thanks." You responded, giving him a small smile which he returned.
NOVEMBER 17, 2019.
When your feelings for Jimin first began to develop, you were all watching a movie.
By this time, it was almost normal for him to join you and Hoseok during your little hangouts at the dorm. The two of you were steadily getting to know each other better, and before you both knew it, a friendship was slowly forming between you two.
For this specific occasion, Hoseok suggested that you three watch a movie—which was ironic, considering he ended up needing to suddenly excuse himself mid-movie.
"I just need to take this call then I'll come back right away, okay?" He said, ruffling your hair.
You simply smiled and nodded, "No problem, oppa."
You watched as he walked out of the room, waving at you and Jimin before closing the door behind him. As you diverted your attention back to the screen, you suddenly flinched upon feeling your phone vibrate. You sighed and checked it, frowning when you read the message.
"Everything alright?" You suddenly hear Jimin ask.
You glanced towards him and nodded. “Yeah,” You responded, giving him a tight-lipped smile. “Just don’t really feel like dealing with work right now.”
Jimin frowned in concern upon hearing this, scooting a bit closer towards you. "Is something bothering you? You can talk about it, if it helps, I won’t judge." He said in a gentle tone.
You sigh at this, placing your phone face down on the bed before turning towards him. You purse your lips, trying to think of how to start. “It’s just one of my team members—he keeps rejecting my ideas just because I’m younger and have less experience.”
As you explained, you neglected to notice the way Jimin’s eyebrows furrowed as he listened, the concern evident in his expression.
“—and, it’s getting kind of tiring, honestly.” You continued with a sigh. “I mean, working in this company had been a dream of mine since I was in high school. But, if all the people I’m going to work with act the way he does, then I don’t think it’s a job meant for me.”
Jimin’s eyes widened at your last remark, quickly shaking his head. “Hey, don’t say that,” he said, lightly nudging you. “Hoseok-hyung always talks about how great of a talent you have, and you shouldn’t let that go to waste just because someone doesn’t want to treat you right.”
As you listened, warmth bloomed in your chest at the sincerity in his voice, his words being exactly what you needed to hear at that moment.
“—besides, you’re a great person, (Y/N).” He added, giving you a small smile. “I mean, I haven’t known you for too long but from what I’ve seen so far, you seem like such a hardworking and diligent person—someone they should be happy to have on their team.”
When he finished speaking, you let out a sigh and glanced toward him, giving him a sincere smile. “Sorry, was that too much?” He asked with a laugh, making you chuckle and shake your head.
“No, it was good actually. I really needed that.” You responded, the smile on your face still lingering. “Thank you, Jimin—really.”
He sighs in relief at this, letting out a chuckle as he nods. “Well, I’m glad I was able to help, (Y/N).” He replied, giving you a smile.
You smiled back, watching as he returned it before looking away to check his phone as it buzzed.
And for the rest of the night, even as Hoseok came back, you couldn’t let go of the warmth you felt in your chest when Jimin comforted you.
DECEMBER 31, 2020.
When you realized your feelings for Jimin were genuine, you two were dancing together.
Hoseok had invited you to the company's New Year's Eve party—saying that you shouldn't need to celebrate the holidays alone. But during the party itself, you remained on the side of the room, silently watching as everyone danced and celebrated in the middle of the room under the bright lights and loud music.
“You can join them, you know?” Jimin suddenly said with a laugh, walking up next to you.
You glance towards him before letting out a soft laugh, playing with the bottle of beer in your hand. You shook your head and took a sip before replying. “I’m not much of a dancer, really. I think I’ll stick to sketching designs.” You responded, crinkling your nose at him.
He chuckled at this and nodded in understanding before taking a chug of his drink as well. “Well, at least Hoseok-hyung seems to be having fun.” He joked, gesturing in front of him.
Hoseok stood far in front of you both, evidently the star of the floor as everyone danced around him. You let out a laugh at this, shaking your head in disbelief.
You glance towards Jimin, a small smile gracing your face as you tried to ignore the way warmth began to spread in your chest upon seeing him smile. "Y-You can dance pretty well though, what are you doing here?" You asked, inwardly cringing at the stutter in your voice.
Jimin simply shook his head before turning towards you. "Well, I would but, I think I'm fine staying here with you instead." He responded, shrugging.
You let out a breathy chuckle at this, taking a big swig of your beer. There was no denying the fact that your heart sped up at his choice at words, despite the nonchalance in his tone.
It was mostly moments like this that you wondered—what if he felt the same way? That, you two actually had a shot? But, at the same time, what if Jimin just acts the way he does because Hoseok knew you? That all the signals were just in your head?
The realizations made you let out a soft sigh as you cast your eyes downward, making Jimin glance towards you. He looks at you worriedly, putting a hand on the small of your back.
“Hey, are you okay?“
Your breath hitched as you feel his touch and you nervously glance towards him. "Y-Yeah, sorry. I was just thinking." You responded, praying he can't sense the slight stutter in your voice.
To your relief, Jimin simply smiled back and nodded, patting your back before pulling his hand away to take a sip of his beer. "Well, if you ever need to talk to someone, I'm here."
You smiled at him and nodded back, "Thanks, Jimin."
After a few seconds of silence, he playfully raised his bottle towards you, making you let out a laugh as you clinked your bottle with his. The two of you take big swigs of your beers, feeling the slight bitter taste on your tongues.
"Jimin-ah!" Someone suddenly exclaimed, his voice barely above the loud music playing in the room.
You and Jimin both glanced forward to see Hoseok waving at you two, a big smile on his face. He jogged towards you, putting an arm on your shoulder.
"What are you doing standing here? You should go join us!" He told Jimin, giving the man a playful nudge.
The younger laughed and shook his head, taking another sip of his beer. "I don't know, hyung. I'm having a bit more fun just watching." He teased, making Hoseok roll his eyes and laugh.
"Come on, when is it ever a party if The Park Jimin doesn't grace us with his presence on the dance floor?" He said, causing Jimin to smile sheepishly.
He glanced towards you before looking back towards his hyung, a teasing smile on his face. "Fine, I'll go if (Y/N) goes."
Hoseok looks slightly started upon hearing this, glancing between you two before letting out a chuckle. "Well, what do you say, (Y/N)-ie?" He asked, patting your shoulder.
"Oppa—I don't dance." You responded with a laugh.
Hoseok huffed and shook his head, not taking no for an answer. "Come on, just this once." He said in a pleading tone.
You glanced towards him and then moved your gaze to Jimin, seeing the expectant look on his face as he gives you a smile. After a few moments, you sighed in defeat before nodding.
"Fine." You mumbled, biting back a smile as you hear the two roommates let out cheers.
Hoseok puts an arm around Jimin before pushing you both to the dance floor, letting out a laugh. "Well, go on!" He teased, watching the two of you with a smile.
You stood awkwardly as everyone around you began to dance, Jimin staring at you in amusement. He gently grasped both of your hands in his before swinging you from side to side, smiling as he hears you let out a giggle.
"Just let loose!" He exclaimed over the music, nodding at you encouragingly.
You laughed and continued to hold his hands, letting him lead you through the song with big smiles on both your faces. As you two danced, Hoseok watched, a happy glint in his eyes as he sees his two younger friends bond.
Meanwhile, you unconsciously bit your lip in nervousness as you both moved, the quick beating of your heart getting increasingly difficult to ignore. But Jimin, seemingly unfazed, simply grinned at you, continuing to dance with your hands in his.
And as he continued gazing in your direction gleefully, you can't help but smile back at him, the warmth swimming in your chest.
That night, you realized you that definitely felt something for him—and you weren't quite sure what to do about it.
MARCH 4, 2020.
When Hoseok figured out your feelings for his friend, you were both sitting in his studio.
He was editing a demo for an original song he had written, while you had been sketching some new designs for the company. After a bit of silence, you heard Hoseok pause the music, causing you to glance towards him.
"I have a question." He said, turning his chair toward you.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, clueless as to what he was going to ask. "What is it?" You asked, putting your pencil down.
Hoseok awkwardly cleared his throat, leaning back into his chair. "I want you to answer me honestly, okay?"
You hesitantly nodded, looking at him expectantly. When he sees your response, he props his hand under his chin and stares straight toward you.
"Is there something going on between you and Jimin?"
Upon hearing his question, you suddenly choked on air, your eyes wide. "Uhm–no? What made you think that?" You asked once you recovered, disbelief in your tone.
Hoseok shrugged, slightly amused at your expression. "I don't know, you guys seemed pretty close during the New Year's Eve party." He said. "—and I don't know if you've noticed but you two have been pretty touchy with each other as of lately."
Your cheeks turned pink at this at his words, quickly recalling the last movie night you had with the members.
Jimin had insisted on sitting next to you, saying it was simply because you two both enjoyed the same popcorn flavor. But throughout the movie, you couldn't ignore the occasional glances he would give you, together with the several moments his hands would brush against yours.
"I don't know what you're talking about," You simply mumbled, avoiding eye contact. "Besides—why would Jimin ever date someone like me?"
The words slipped out of your mouth before you could help it, making you inwardly cringe. But Hoseok is quick to refute your claim, nudging your knee with his.
"Yah, don't put yourself down like that," He said, frowning. "Jimin should count himself lucky to know someone like you."
He observed your reaction, quickly catching the slight sadness in your eyes, making his frown deepen. The gears slowly shift in his head and his eyes suddenly widen.
"(Y/N), do you like him?"
You sighed at his question and looked at him, about to deny it until you realize your expression practically gives it away. Hoseok reads your face and gapes at you, surprise in his eyes. "Oh my god, you do like him."
He watched as you wince at his conclusion before glancing towards the ground. "Is it that obvious?" You asked, playing with the hem of your hoodie.
Hoseok's eyes soften at your tone, rolling his chair closer to you. "Not really? But, I don't know—would it really be that bad?"
You sighed and shrugged, finally having enough courage to look at him in the eyes. "I guess I'm just kind of tense," You say. "I mean, we only began to get really close recently and I don't want to scare him away by telling him."
Hoseok nodded understandingly, leaning back into his chair. "But, you'll never know how he feels until you tell him." He says, as though he knew something you didn’t.
You huffed at this and nodded, "I know, I guess I'm just not ready yet." You responded.
Hoseok sighs at this, choosing to simply respect your decision. "Well, whether or not you decide to do it, I'm here if you need me, okay?"
You smile at Hoseok's remark and nod, thankful to have a friend like him.
DECEMBER 9, 2020.
When you finally confessed to Jimin, the two of you were walking by the Han River, watching as the sun slowly began to set.
A significant time had passed since your conversation with Hoseok, and you couldn’t help but think of what he said every time you would see Jimin.
This time though, it was a little different.
He had texted you a few hours before, asking if you were free to spend some time with him alone. He seemed pretty upset when he messaged you, so you couldn't help but stop what you were doing to accompany him.
"This feels nice," Jimin said, stopping in his steps as he faces the water.
You smiled and nodded your head, halting in your steps to stand beside him. The pair of you took a seat on a nearby bench and stared into the water, a comfortable silence filling the atmosphere.
"Are you feeling better? You seemed pretty down earlier."
Jimin hummed at this and slowly nodded, glancing towards you with a small smile. "Yeah, I am. Thank you for agreeing to come with me."
You smiled back, happy to know he seemed okay. "No problem, Jimin. I’m just relieved to know you’re better.” You responded, leaning back against the bench with a sigh.
As silence once again takes over, Jimin lets out a sigh as he leans his head back as well. "To be honest with you, the members were just a bit too much today. So, I just needed to kind of get away from everything.” He explained, staring towards the sky.
You nodded, glancing towards him. "Do you want to talk about it?"
He sighed, unconsciously playing with his fingers. "It’s not even that big of a deal honestly, I don’t know why I got so worked up.” He said, biting his lip.
You look at him, giving him an encouraging nod to continue.
“Joon-hyung brought up how the management is thinking of making us go on tour again.”
Upon hearing his words, your expression falters. Jimin notices this and lets out a sigh, shaking his head.
"I mean, don't get me wrong—I love seeing our overseas fans. But, we're on the go all the time." He said in an exasperated tone. "I haven't even gotten around to meeting most of my old friends from high school—let alone be able to message them."
You frown at this, placing a comforting hand on top of his. Jimin smiles at you gratefully before glancing back forward, watching the water as he continues.
"I've also just been having so much fun spending time with people outside the industry—people like you." He admitted. "And if I do leave the country again, I'll lose contact with everyone and it'll be like I didn't make any new friends in the first place."
He finished with a huff, his hand still in yours. Meanwhile, you looked at him, slight warmth in your chest as what he said began to sink in.
"That must be really hard," You mumbled, slightly turning toward him. "I never realized that would be a problem you guys experience, but it's completely valid."
Jimin nodded at this, giving you a small smile before you continue.
"But look, as hard as it may be, friendships are meant to be strong—no matter the circumstances." You said. "So, even if you're abroad, if your relationships really are solid, then you shouldn't have a problem staying in contact with them."
You let out a chuckle when you finished talking, playfully giving Jimin a nudge. "I can even text you every day if it helps." You teased, smiling when you see Jimin let out a laugh.
"Really?" He asked, a big grin on his face.
He playfully nudged you back, making you let out a laugh as you nodded. "Of course."
You both smiled at one another, Jimin's fingers slowly interlocking with yours as the color of the sunset reflects on your faces. You feel thankful for the pink color of the sky, as it perfectly hides the just as pink tint on your cheeks.
As you felt the warmth spread through your body, you awkwardly cleared your throat and smiled at Jimin, pulling your hand away. His smile slightly falters for a second when you do, but he immediately covers it up as he purses his lips.
"Everything okay?"
You smiled and nodded, reaching behind you to unravel your scarf. "Yeah, it's just getting a bit warm." You said, huffing when you realized it seems to be stuck on your necklace.
Jimin quickly noticed your issue and moved closer to you, reaching behind your neck. "Here, let me help." He said, unclasping the necklace.
You both smiled in triumph when you successfully separate the scarf from your neck, your necklace still in Jimin's hands. But as he moved to give it to you, he suddenly hesitated, looking as though he was thinking of saying something.
As Jimin remained deep in thought, you tightly clasp the scarf in your hand, a whirlwind of thoughts also occupying the space in your mind.
Everything was perfect—you two were alone, it was peaceful, the weather was good. Was it a sign?
You bit your lip anxiously, weighing all of the pros and cons in your head before you once again recall what Hoseok once told you.
"—you'll never know how he feels until you tell him."
Jimin snapped out of his thoughts before you did, wiping his clammy palms against his coat before turning back toward you. As he moved to give you the necklace, he noticed the distracted expression on your face.
"(Y/N), you good?" He asked, playfully waving his palm in front of your face.
You snap out of your trance and look towards him, gazing straight into his eyes. Jimin blinks moving one of his hands towards his right cheek,
"Is there something on my face?" He asks, wondering why you were staring at him so distractedly.
Then a second passes, and two.
Before suddenly—
"I like you."
The words slipped out of your mouth before you could even process it. Your eyes travelled to Jimin, immediately spotting the shock in his expression.
"I-I'm sorry." You quickly said, standing up abruptly. "You don't need to say anything. I'm sorry—it just came out of nowhere." You mumbled, biting your lip.
Jimin continued to stare at you in surprise, standing up after you do. "(Y/N)," He mumbled, his voice unreadable.
You couldn't tell what he was feeling, but the small frown on his face was enough for you to know how he felt.
"I should go." You quickly said, biting your lip.
You grab your purse from the bench, silently cursing as you already feel the tears prickle your eyes.
How embarassing.
You sharply inhale and turn towards Jimin, forcing out a small smile. "Thank you for tonight, I uh—I had a great time." You said, stepping backwards.
"—and I'm sorry if I ruined it."
You quickly walked away from him after you were done saying goodbye, unable to stay any longer.
As you left, Jimin blinked in shock, watching your back as it grew further and further away from him, your necklace still dangling from the palm of his hand.
DECEMBER 28, 2020.
When you next saw Jimin, it was the same day you bought yourself a new car.
By this point, it had been almost 3 weeks since your accidental confession to Jimin. "Please just give me time. I promise I'll give you an answer." Was what he texted you the exact morning after your confession.
You couldn't help but go through all the lengths to avoid him after receiving the text, unable to scrape the memory of his shocked, sad face from your mind.
Yet here you were, in front of the Bangtan dorm, a day after Hoseok had invited you to come over. You told him about what happened a few days after it did, and he immediately expressed his sympathy toward you.
But when he found out you were getting your new car from the dealership right by his dorm, he managed to convince you to come over—saying the other members missed you and that Jimin wouldn't be there anyway.
Just drive-by and pick me up. You can't avoid my dorm forever. You recall him saying, a sigh leaving your lips.
You hesitantly rang the doorbell to the house, backing away slightly when it opens. But when you see who's inside, your eyes softened, a small smile gracing your lips.
"(Y/N), I missed you!" Namjoon instantly exclaims, tackling you into a hug.
You laugh at this and hug him back tightly before pulling away, the smile on your face widening. "I missed you too, oppa. How have you been?"
Namjoon smiles and leads you inside the house, closing the door behind you. "I've been good. Just the usual." He responds, causing you to let out a soft chuckle.
At least the others seemed to not have changed.
"Oh! Hobi's in his room, by the way." He said, assuming you were here to visit him.
You smiled at Namjoon gratefully and nodded, thanking him before walking out of the living room towards the stairs.
As you walked up the familiar set of stairs and arrived in front of the familiar door to Hoseok's room, the heaviness in your chest became increasingly difficult to ignore.
But you took a deep breath, telling yourself there was nothing to be nervous about. You bit your lip and twisted the doorknob open, heart immediately dropping at the sight in front of you.
Hoseok is nowhere to be found.
And on the other side of the room was Jimin, on his bed with an unfamiliar girl seated on top of him. They seemed to have pulled away from each other just as you opened the door, their ruffled hair and unbuttoned tops both being tell-tale signs.
When Jimin's eyes land on you, he quickly pushes the girl off of him and onto the bed, standing up. "(Y/N), it's not what it looks like—" He said before you quickly cut him off as you leave and shut the door.
Your chest is suddenly unbearably heavy, the pain from seeing Jimin with another girl suddenly being too much to handle.
Of course.
He didn't actually need time—he just needed an excuse to reject you.
The thought had tears spilling out of your eyes, the palms of your hands beginning to tremble as a sob almost leaves your mouth. You quickly walked down the stairs and towards the hallway, thankful to see that it seems to be empty.
But as you walked up to the door, you hear a voice that immediately makes you stop in your steps.
"(Y/N)," Jimin said, his voice almost sad.
You hesitated before turning around to meet his eyes, not bothering to hide the tears that glide down your cheeks. Jimin sees your face and sighs, standing still.
He breathed in, eyes landing on you one last time before they moved to the ground.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled, his voice trailing away.
You swallowed at this and looked away, biting your lip. You take a deep breath, gathering your emotions before you looked at him one last time, a sad smile on your face.
"I'm sorry too." You croaked out before turning around and leaving through the front door.
And for a brief moment, as you left, you hoped that he'd run after you and tell you to stop.
But he never did.
So, when you walked back into your car and finally felt the tears continuously fall down, you couldn't help but let out a sob as you felt your heart crack into two.
You sobbed, and sobbed, the tears from your eyes spilling onto the material of the brand new car seat below you.
And then, you felt your phone buzz beside you.
Your heart stopped as you hesitantly checked it, hope slowly rising from the bottom of your stomach.
But it quickly dissolved as you read the message, another feeling forming in your stomach instead.
Mr. Dae: Hi (Y/N), I hope you're doing well. This is kind of sudden but, would you be willing to come to my office within the hour? I'd like to discuss an offer with you. Specifically, one that involves a three-month job in Italy.
You almost let out a chuckle when you finish reading the message, dropping the phone onto your lap as you closed your eyes and leaned your head back in disbelief.
Timing. You think. Such a funny thing it is.
FEBRUARY 4, 2021.
When you last saw Hoseok, you were boarding for your flight at the airport.
“Do you really have to go?” He said with a frown, watching as you brought your luggages out of his car. “You know, Bang’s been wanting to renovate the BigHit building for awhile now. Maybe I can get him to contact you about it instead.”
You laughed at this and shook your head, “I’ll only be gone for a few months, oppa. It’ll pass before you even realize.” You replied, giving him a small smile.
Hoseok huffed in defeat, helping you close the trunk before walking you to the airport entrance. “I’m just sad, you know? You literally just moved to Seoul less than two years ago and now you're moving away again?"
You frowned at this, turning towards him. "I know, oppa. But I just can't pass on this opportunity, you know?"
When you finally met with your boss, he told you all about the offer—his words still as clear as day. "A client in Italy saw your blueprint and was impressed. He reached out to our Europe office and wants to work with you." He explained, watching as you stared at him in pure shock.
You recalled the memory, watching as Hoseok simply nodded and let out a sigh.
"I'm going to miss you, (Y/N)-ie." He said, a pout forming on his face.
Your heart warms at this, a pout also forming on your face as you tackle Hoseok in a hug. As much as you'd hate to admit it, you were definitely going to miss him too.
"I'll call you every day." You mumbled, tightening your grip around him. "I'm gonna miss you too."
Hoseok smiled and hugged you back, sniffling. "I'm holding you to that." He joked, causing you to chuckle.
As you two pulled away, your eyes quickly widened as you see a tear leaving his eyes, another chuckle leaving your lips. "Yah! I'm not moving!" You joked with a laugh. "It's not like we won't see each other again."
Hoseok pouted and stared at you, playfully punching you in the chest. You stared at him in disbelief, unable to help it as a tear comes out from your eyes as well. "Oh come on, now you're making me cry!" You exclaimed, wiping your eyes.
He laughed and wiped his eyes as well, "Look, just promise me you'll stay safe, okay?" He said, giving you one last smile.
You smiled back, holding back any other tears threatening to fall as you nod. "You too, oppa." You replied, patting him on the back.
He led you to the entrance, pausing when he sees it’s time to leave you.
“So this is it, huh?” You mumbled with a chuckle as you glanced toward him.
Hoseok simply sighed with a smile and gave you one last hug before pulling away.
“Go kick some European architect ass.” He said, making you let out a laugh.
You smiled one last time before walking past the guards by the entrance, turning around to face him. “I’ll call you as soon as I land!” You exclaimed, waving at him.
He smiled and waved back, motioning for you to walk. “Yes, now go! Before you miss your flight!” He responded.
You grin and nod, waving at him one last time before beginning to walk around the terminal, finding your designated airline crew.
And about an hour later, as you sat in your airplane seat watching as your plane slowly left the ground, unconsciously overlooking Jimin as he stood in front of your door, two cups of your favorite coffee in his hands as he hoped he wasn’t too late.

Jimin's feelings for you, meanwhile, came a little more gradually. But when they finally did, they struck like a wave.
JANUARY 5, 2019.
When he first met you, his day had been nothing but cold.
He had used up his day-off to meet up with his girlfriend, Miyeon, expecting to end the day happy. But unfortunately for him, the universe seemed to have other plans.
"Let's break up." Miyeon blurted out, stopping in her steps.
Jimin chuckled, thinking she was joking, until he glanced to his right and met her serious eyes. His smile faded, quickly replaced by a confused frown.
"What?" Jimin said, hands buried into his pockets. "Miyeon-ah, what are you talking about?"
His girlfriend huffed and gazed straight at him, a frown forming on her face as well. "We barely even talk anymore, Jimin."
Jimin blinked, not knowing what to say. When Miyeon noticed, she let out a soft scoff.
"See? Even you can't deny it." She said, "This isn't a relationship, Jimin. I'm tired of always coming second to your job."
At the mention of his job, Jimin lets out a sigh. "Yeon, you know I can't do anything about that. It's my job." He said, "But, look—we can still make this work, okay? I-I'll try to talk to my manager—"
"It's no use, we both know you've tried to in the past." Miyeon responded, cutting him off. "Look, I'm just tired, okay? I can't do this anymore, Jimin. Not when I can't meet you as much as I want to, or when I can't even tell my friends that you exist." She explained, the tone in her voice growing softer.
Jimin's heart cracked upon hearing her words, taking his one of his hands out of his pockets to grasp hers. "B-But we've been together for almost a year, Yeon. We promised each other we wouldn't give up on this." He mumbled, voice cracking at the end.
But Miyeon, seemingly already decided, simply sighed and took her hand out of his. She held back her tears and put her hands back in her pockets. "Well, m-maybe we weren't meant to be together forever anyways." She responded, lip quivering. "Jimin, I loved you so much but—I think we both know that we aren't really meant for each other."
Jimin bit his lip, glancing downwards as a tear fell out of his eyes. His heart felt heavy, almost too heavy. "Yeon, please—I can't do this, not right now." He said pleadingly, eyes meeting Miyeon's glassy ones.
Miyeon simply sniffled and shook her head, giving Jimin a sad smile. "I'm sorry, Jimin." She said, letting out a shaky sigh.
Before he could say anything, Miyeon quickly walked away, not letting him see the tears in her eyes. Jimin stayed, watching as she walked away.
He stood there for a few moments, the cold air hitting his face. Then, with a heavy heart, he decided to go to the only place he could go back to, home.
As soon as he arrived, he was met with muffled sounds of laughter, something that seemed ironic when compared the current emotions he felt in his heart. He reluctantly walked up to his room and opened the door, only to be met with a sight that surprised him.
A girl was sat on the ground with Hoseok, smiles on both their faces as they caught up and ate together. As Jimin briefly met their gazes, he let out an awkward chuckle and forced out a smile.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, I didn't think you guys would still be here." He said, hoping his roommate wouldn't notice his rather sad mood.
But Hoseok simply shook his head and gave him a reassuring smile. "It's alright, Jimin-ie. We were just talking anyways." He replied, putting his can of beer on the floor.
His gaze travels from Jimin to the girl beside him, causing Jimin's eyes to follow suit.
"Oh, have you met my former school hoobae? You guys are the same age." Jimin inhales softly and forces out a small smile, tilting his head to the side. "Oh hey, I'm Jimin. Hoseok-hyung's bandmate and roommate."
You simply smiled back and waved, "Hi, I'm (Y/N)."
And despite all the sadness and heaviness in his heart, Jimin couldn't help but feel a tad bit brighter as he stood in the room.
JUNE 23, 2019. When Jimin had next met you, he had been spending the day alone.
"Hey, I'm just going to run to the store really quick. Do you need anything?" Hoseok asked, standing up from his bed.
Jimin hummed and shook his head, giving his hyung a small smile. "No, I think I'm alright. Thanks, hyung."
Hoseok nodded, grabbing his bag as he walked to the door. But before he stepped out, he glanced back towards Jimin. "Oh, (Y/N)'s coming over by the way. Just giving you a heads-up in case she arrives before I come back." he said, making Jimin nod his head.
"Okay, I can just step out when she gets here."
Hoseok paused, shaking his head. "No, you should stay and join us! I'm sure (Y/N) won't mind a bit more company." he quickly responded with an encouraging smile.
Jimin pursed his lips, slightly hesitant, "Hyung, if this is about what happened with Miyeon, I'm okay—really." he said, causing Hoseok to sigh.
"I'm not forcing you to date (Y/N)-ie, Jimin. I just want to make sure you have some company. You haven't talked to anyone other than us since it happened." Hoseok replied, giving the younger a small smile.
Jimin hesitantly glanced towards him, biting his lip before he finally sighed and nodded, "Okay, I guess I can stay for awhile."
He watched as Hoseok smiled in triumph, "Great!" he exclaimed, "I'll buy food for three people then."
He waved goodbye the younger member before walking out, causing Jimin to sigh and look down towards his phone. It had been a few months since he and Miyeon broke up and yet, he still couldn't find it in him to move on from everything she said.
He continued to space out, a solemn expression on his face before he's quickly startled by the sudden movement of the door. He glanced towards it, blinking when he saw you walk inside. "Oh, hey." he said, giving you a small wave from his bed.
He suddenly felt a bit awkward, sitting on his bed with his usual home attire while you seemed much more put together, wearing a simple outfit and—
Oh. Your hair was new. Jimin quickly realized, the now shoulder length-cut greatly contrasting the long hair you had when you first met.
He snapped out of his daze when you waved back to him and responded, "Hey. Sorry—I didn't mean to barge in, I just assumed Hobi-oppa would be here."
Jimin let out a soft smile—suddenly recalling the short interaction he had with Hoseok earlier. "It's okay, he told me to expect you anyways. He just ran out for awhile to grab some stuff at the convenience store, but he should be back soon." he explained, shrugging his shoulders.
He gazed at you as you blinked in response, hand tightly holding the strap of your bag before you curtly nod. "Oh—alright then."
Jimin pursed his lips and offered you a smile, about to divert his attention to his phone when he realized you stood still. Unconsciously smiling in amusement, he simply cleared his throat, watching as your eyes met his. "You can sit there while waiting, if you want. I'm sure he wouldn't mind." he said, one hand pointing towards Hoseok's bed.
His eyes remained on yours as you once again blinked before closing the door behind you. When it clicked, you walked towards Hoseok's bed and sat down, silence once again filling the room.
Jimin, recalling Hoseok's encouragement, reluctantly broke the silence and gave you a compliment. "Nice hair, by the way." he blurted out, carefully watching your reaction. "Oh." you simply say, making Jimin inwardly wince.
Was that too blunt? he thinks, looking downwards. He tries to come up with something else to say, but you beat him to it. "Thanks." you replied after clearing your throat, giving him a small smile.
Jimin sighed, giving you a relieved smile in return.
FEBRUARY 9, 2020.
When Jimin first began to appreciate your company, he and Hoseok were in their room.
You had been frequently visiting for a few months now and while he hadn't exactly realized it yet, he was beginning to look forward to your hangouts together.
"Hey, are you up to anything tonight?" Hoseok asked, causing Jimin to hum.
He looks up from his laptop, shrugging at the older member. "Not really, Tae invited me to have dinner with his friends but I'm not really feeling it." he replies, "Why do you ask?"
Hoseok merely shrugs back before typing on his phone, "Just curious."
Jimin raises his eyebrows in curiosity, glancing towards him. "Is (Y/N) coming over?" he asks, a bit more excited than he anticipated.
He watches as Hoseok glances towards him, a slightly confused expression on his face. "No? Jiminie, I was just curious, really." He says, letting out a chuckle.
"Oh," Jimin replies, leaning back towards his headboard. "Well, I just thought that since she hasn't come by in awhile, she would sometime soon." He says, causing Hoseok to snicker.
"Someone's keeping count." He mumbles under his breath, biting back a knowing smile.
Jimin scoots closer to the edge of the bed, not understanding what Hoseok said. "Did you say something, hyung?" He asks, the older member feigning innocence as he shakes his head.
"I'm just happy to know you two seem to be getting along well," He replies, giving the younger a smile. "It's nice to see two of my dongsaengs bond."
He smiles wider when Jimin suddenly glances down and gives him a shrug. "I mean, she's cool I guess."
Hoseok chuckles and shakes his head, throwing a pillow towards his roommate's head. "She's just busy with a project right now. The company got a really good opportunity and they assigned her as a leader." He explains, his expression growing proud.
Jimin perks up at this, a smile also forming on his face. "That's great to hear, I'm glad she's doing good."
Hoseok simply nods, "And uh—don't worry, she asked about you a few times as well." He teases, letting out another chuckle.
The younger simply smiles at this, shaking his head. But as he heard Hoseok's words, he couldn't help but notice the sudden warmth he felt in his chest.
MARCH 2, 2020.
When Jimin began to think of you more, he barely even comprehended it.
He was roaming around a store with Taehyung in tow, humming along to the R&B music playing through the speakers. It was Yoongi's birthday in a couple of days and he had taken the day off to look for a gift.
But as his eyes scanned the shelf in front of him, he couldn't help but think of you as they land on a certain object. It was a mechanical pencil, which funny enough, he immediately associated with you because of a memory.
"I still don't get it, it's just a pencil." Jimin said, staring at the image on your phone screen.
He laughs as soon as you let out a scoff, amused at how worked-up you were getting. "It's not just a pencil, it's the key to productivity! The way the lead just glides onto the paper and—"
Jimin quickly cuts you off, nodding his head. "Okay, okay, I think I get it. No need to go all architect on me." He jokes, causing you both to break out into laughter.
He chuckled as he remembered, toying with the mechanical pencil in his hand. Should I buy it for her? He wondered, biting his lip. A warm fuzzy feeling quickly filled his chest at the thought, making him smile unconsciously.
"Jimin, you good?" Taehyung suddenly asked, causing Jimin to snap out of his daze.
"Huh?" Jimin responded, slightly confused.
The other member laughed and shook his head, pointing to the pencil in his hand. "You've been smiling at that pencil for the last 10 seconds, I was just wondering if you were getting it for hyung."
Jimin blinked and looked towards his hand, staring at the object. Then, he cleared his throat and looked back towards Taehyung before nodding his head.
"Yeah, I think I'll just buy him this." He replied, causing the latter to nod his head.
The two of them walked up to the counter to pay for their items, Taehyung playfully nudging Jimin as the cashier scanned their cards.
"You know, you've been spacing out a lot recently." He said, "Is there something on your mind?"
Jimin quickly tilted his head, "Really?"
Taehyung thanked the cashier and accepted his card before turning towards his friend. "Yeah, it's something a few of us noticed." He said, letting out a chuckle.
Jimin simply shrugged, accepting his item from the cashier.
"Huh." He mumbled, looking downwards.
DECEMBER 9, 2020.
When Jimin suddenly found out about your feelings, he was very confused.
Throughout the day, he remained upset over the news of their tour for reasons even he couldn't understand. Usually, such news would excite him as it meant he'd be able to interact with ARMYs all around the world. But for some reason, the news just made his stomach churn in a way it never had before.
He thought back to everything that had changed over the past year, and realized one of the only new things that had come into his life were you. But, before he could think any more of it, he simply brushed it off as a coincidence.
However, as he spoke to you and vented out his concerns near the Han River, some of his feelings suddenly became a bit clearer. He watched with a smile as you gave him advice, gently interlocking your fingers together.
He was enjoying the moment you two were having and he liked the way he felt, even though he didn't know what exactly it was. All he knew was that there was a warmth in his chest whenever he was with you, and that it would slightly heighten when you two would touch.
Which was exactly why he couldn't help but frown when you suddenly pulled away from him.
"Everything okay?" He asked, looking at you worriedly.
He watched as you simply let out a smile and nodded before you reached backward to unravel your scarf. When he noticed you seemed to be having a difficult time, he moved towards you and unclasped the necklace around your neck.
He smiled as the two objects finally separated, quickly withdrawing his arms to give you space. He glanced towards the necklace in his hand, doing his best to untangle it while you took the scarf off of your neck.
He gazed at the small pendant of the necklace, noticing it as the one accessory you always wear whenever you come to the dorm. The crystal pendant was so small, and yet it always stood out regardless of what you'd wear.
There you go again. He quickly thought, remembering what Taehyung said and snapping out of his daze before he thought of anything else.
Jimin looked towards you, bringing his hand up to give you back the necklace when he noticed that you seemed to be deep in thought as well. He smiled and waved his hand in front of your face.
"(Y/N), you good?" He asked, chuckling when you finally look at him. "Is there something on my face?"
His smile falters when he sees the hesitant expression on your face, worried he might have said something wrong. "Are you—"
"I like you."
As the words come out of your mouth, Jimin can't bring it upon himself to hide the shock on his face. He didn't expect it at all, hell, he had no idea you even thought about him that way.
He thought back to all the times you two hung out, wondering if he ever missed any signs. Yet he couldn't think back to a specific memory, especially not with the sudden surge of emotions he felt.
"I-I'm sorry." You said as you shot up from your seat. "You don't need to say anything. I'm sorry—it just came out of nowhere."
Jimin continues staring at you, mouth agape. "(Y/N)," He finally said as he stood up, before immediately pausing.
He wanted to respond to what you said, he really did. But, what was he supposed to say if he wasn't even sure if he felt the same way? So he simply watched as you looked at him expectantly and quickly noticed the crestfallen look on your face when nothing comes out of his mouth.
"I should go." You said, swiftly grabbing your things from the bench. “Thank you for tonight, I uh—I had a great time.”
Jimin tried to stop you, but his body remained frozen.
“—and I’m sorry if I ruined it.” He hears you say, before you instantly walk away from him.
His heart cracks upon hearing the tone of your voice, tightly clasping the necklace in his palm. He felt like screaming and crying at the same time, unable to convey the feelings he felt inside. He'd never felt anything like it before, and maybe that's what scared him the most.
While he remains deep in thought, a voice suddenly brings him out of his daze, a voice he knew all too well.
"Jimin?"
He turned around and his arms both immediately dropped, shocked at the sight in front of him.
"Miyeon, is that you?"
DECEMBER 28, 2020.
When Jimin last saw you, he was conflicted.
It had been a few weeks since your last encounter, and he couldn't help but miss your presence. Sure, he was partly to blame, but he honestly just missed having a friend to talk to, or just someone to go to.
He had spent most of his days practicing with the members, burying himself in work so that he wouldn't need to think about you. As he did, he also used some of his time to catch up with Miyeon, even though he knew deep down that it wasn't right.
He just always yearned for familiarity, something to hold onto in the middle of all the tours and changing timezones. But everything with you was so new, and it scared him. So, choosing to spend his time with Miyeon was just easier—as selfish as that was.
Meanwhile, Hoseok wasn't all that happy with his decision. Sure, part of it was just him being a protective friend over you, but he also felt like what Jimin was doing was wrong—especially when he never gave you a definite answer.
Due to his disappointment, he stopped bringing you up in front of Jimin. Something that he later on realized, was also most likely a mistake as well.
Because if he had told him you were coming to visit today, maybe Jimin wouldn't have done what he did—and things wouldn't have changed as much.
"Are you sure this is okay?" Miyeon asked, sitting next to Jimin on the bed.
The latter nodded, giving his ex a small smile. "We got a lot more freedom about who we could invite to the dorm recently." He said, "It's not the first time someone's come to visit us, so don't worry."
Miyeon simply nodded her head, glancing towards him. "So, what do you want to do?" She asked, tilting her head at Jimin.
The two began to chat with one another, catching up with one another as they always did. Then, maybe it was their rather close proximity, or the fact that they were on Jimin's bed.
But slowly, Miyeon's eyes slowly gravitated towards Jimin's lips, the latter doing the same. Before they knew it, they both moved closer, and closer, until their lips meet.
The next few minutes feel like a blur to Jimin, from the moment he felt Miyeon's hands in his hair to the moment she began to crawl onto his lap. He wanted to feel euphoric as it happened, but he couldn't help but feel heavy inside.
As though, he was doing something very, very wrong.
Then, before he knew it, the door quickly opened, causing them both to pull away from one another. Jimin quickly glanced towards the door, ready to explain the situation to whoever member was at the door.
But then he sees you.
And once again, the words are just stuck in his throat. But luckily for him, he seems to have a bit more control over his limbs this time around.
He gently pushed Miyeon onto the bed and stood up, reaching towards you. “(Y/N), it’s not what it looks like—” He says, before pausing as the door gets slammed in his face.
He quickly buttons his shirt, looking at Miyeon guiltily. "Oh my god, Miyeon, I'm so sorry." He says, ruffling his hair. "Just give me a minute to fix this."
He quickly opens the door and rushes out, the thoughts running through his head at the same time. He didn't even know what exactly he was going to say. All he knew, in that moment, was that he didn't want you to walk away from him again.
But, as he met your eyes in the living room and saw the tears in your eyes that he had caused, his heart began to ache in guilt. His thoughts begin to eat at him once again.
Even if you did decide to hear him out, did he even deserve it?
So consumed by his own thoughts, he decided to cave into the fear and hold back, in spite of the fact that his heart wanted him to do otherwise.
"I'm sorry." He simply said, defeated.
He sees the sad look on your face contort into one of disappointment, bracing himself for what you had to say.
"I'm sorry too."
As soon as the words come out of your mouth and you leave, Jimin feels his heart crack into 2, the pain being too much for him. Everything felt so wrong, no matter how much he told him himself that what he did was right.
JANUARY 2, 2021.
When Jimin began to come to terms with his feelings, things also started to fall back into place.
It had barely been a week since he last saw you, yet he couldn't wipe your face away from his memory. He had thought long and hard about everything, which is what led to the decision he was making right now.
"I think we should end this," Jimin said, staring straight at Miyeon as they sat across one another. "Whatever this is."
To his surprise, Miyeon didn't seem fazed by what he said. She simply let out a chuckle, nodding her head before she took a sip of her coffee.
"It's that girl, isn't it?" She asked, causing Jimin to stiffen. Upon seeing his reaction, Miyeon let out a sad smile. "It's okay, Jimin. I kind of noticed it too."
He looked at her confusedly, unable to understand what she meant. "Notice what?"
She looked and him and shrugged her shoulders, "That day I came to you at the dorms, I saw the look on your face." She said, "I mean, it's one thing to be mortified when someone walks in but—you almost looked guilty."
Jimin sighed at this, "I'm sorry, Miyeon. I swear, this wasn't how I expected things to go." He explained, "If I had known, I wouldn't have tried to start anything between us in the first place."
Miyeon simply sighed before responding, "Jimin, it's fine, I promise."
But he frowned and shook his head, the guilt of the entire situation eating him up once again. "No, it's not, Miyeon, I led you on. Hell, like you said, you saw me run after a girl right after we kissed."
"Look, Jimin," Miyeon mumbled, leaning back in her chair. "You made a really big mistake and I think we both know that. But—I didn't exactly go to you with any intentions either."
At this, Jimin glanced at her, confused. "What do you mean?"
"I saw you that day at the Han River and I honestly just wanted to catch up. But, when I noticed you didn't seem to be dating anyone either, I thought it would that, well—it wouldn't hurt to rekindle a past relationship."
She sighed and toyed with her glass before continuing, "I never expected anything from you, Jimin. In fact, it makes me happy to know you seemed to have moved on."
Jimin's gaze travelled down to his glass, swirling the coffee around. "I don't even know anymore, to be honest. Everything about her just feels so—new." He mumbles, the tone of his voice expressing his slight nervousness.
Miyeon nods understandingly, "Well, is that really so bad?" She says, watching his expression turn into slight confusion. "I mean, I get why you'd be scared but, for all you know, maybe it's a good sign."
"Maybe," He mumbles, still hesitant.
His ex sighs, putting her glass on the table. "Okay then, answer this. Those feelings you feel—those new ones? What kind of feelings are they?" She asks, looking at Jimin expectantly.
The man huffs, "They're fuzzy and warm," He replies, "Like, whenever we're together, I always get this warm feeling in my chest, and it only dissipates once she's gone or sad."
"Well, is it a bad kind of warmth? Like from discomfort?" Miyeon asks, causing Jimin to shake his head.
"No," He says, "Not at all. It's more—comforting, actually. Kind of like a hug after a long day."
Upon hearing his answer, Miyeon sighs, a sentimental smile on her face.
"Well, I think you have your answer then."
FEBRUARY 4, 2021.
When Jimin finally understood, he didn't realize it was too late.
After parting ways with Miyeon, he gave himself a chance to truly ponder over what he felt for you, as well as process everything that ensued.
He would be lying if he said he was completely certain about everything, but all he knew for sure was that he did indeed feel something and that he missed you.
So now, after what felt like forever, he finally mustered up enough courage to show up at your door and talk to you about it. He bought your favorite coffee as a peace offering, hoping you'd appreciate the fact that he still remembered your coffee order word per word.
"I brought you coffee, and uh—I was thinking we could go watch a movie afterwards." He practiced, staring straight at the door in front of him.
He took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell, patiently awaiting your answer. But to his disappointment, no one seemed to be answering the door. The coffee in is hands grew cold, and he began to lose hope.
After a few more minutes, Jimin walked back to his car in defeat. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and opened a conversation he had with Hoseok.
jimin: hey, hyung. is (y/n) with you? i'm in front of her door but she doesn't seem to be opening it.
He stared at the phone, frowning once again when Hoseok also fails to respond to his message. In a last leap of faith, he walked back to the door and rang the doorbell one last time before he finally gave up and decided to leave.
A few hours later, he found himself inside a theater, sighing at the empty seat next to him. The fact that he hadn't heard from you and Hoseok made his chest constrict in a way he hated as the guilt from what had happened began to eat at him once again.
But as he watched the movie, he suddenly felt his phone buzz on his lap, causing his hopes to go up a bit. He unlocks his phone and sees a message from Hoseok, and his heart quickly drops at the message.
hoseok: she left on a business trip to europe. she isn't coming back for another few months.
Upon seeing the message, the heaviness in Jimin's heart suddenly increased. He dropped his phone onto his lap and looked straight at the screen in front of him. Not long after, he glanced towards the seat next to him, the words of Hoseok finally sinking in.
Then, all at once, the heaviness disappeared—and in its place was nothing but emptiness.
