Exactly one year ago me and the rest of our family went to see Encanto together in the cinema. We didn't really wanted to but Carla insisted. Today pass a year since my sister felt in love with Encanto and all of the characters, especially Dolores. I am glad she could see herself in those characters and in their stories and that she decided to share it with other people
Thought I'd share it. It's a nice memory

Carla would've been 16 today
Because of the hate you received, death threats and bullying from racists on this account we can't celebrate it with you today. Happy birthday Carla. We miss you

As I thanked people who showed my sister support and so much love on here before I would also like to say that I see all of the hate messages that she was getting. Racism, death threats, telling her to kill herself and just hate in general. If you have ever sent Carla any hateful message and you are now reading this I want you to know that somehow you are a cause of her death. I don’t know all of her reasons but I can imagine how big impact those messages had on her. She was 15. She was a child.
And to people who were standing up for Carla, who were with her. I am very grateful for you. Thank you again, may God bless you.

Carla Rosa 07.08.2006 - 15.03.2022
Hello I’m Carla Rosa’s brother. I didn’t know much about this account but what I knew was that it brought her a lot of happiness. Before she decided to go she asked me to take care of her blog because she knew people would be worried. It took me more than month to write this and I apologise for it. I want to say thank you to every person who showed my Carlita love on here. I’m grateful you made her life brighter.
Rest In Peace

hello, i have a quick question!
i love the movie encanto and i especially love the outfits, and very much mirabels. i am white, and i really want to buy her outfit. would it be disrespectful of me to do that? as long as i dont post on social media, or saying im cosplaying her?
thank u for answering this! <33
hello I think it wouldn’t be disrespectful it’s a costume after all but maybe if you have the money and time of course buy a better one or make it yourself? but only if you have the possibility to of course if no just buy the costume and have fun
oh and maybe keep in mind that those ones that you buy on the internet doesn’t have a lot in common with the actual Colombian dresses (I mean the material etc etc) but yeah I think it’s fine

To the anon asking about latinos in other countries who speak Spanglish -
Yes, depending on your parents level of English. Someone who speaks 90% Spanish will always say “tu tío” but a parent who maybe learned English in their early 20’s and/or was bilingual since they were a child would say “your tio.”
It just depends on their level of English and what they’re more comfortable with saying. The more English is your primary language, the more English is is woven in between words.
In the end of the day Tio is Tio. No one would really call anyone Uncle Jose for example, irregardless of your level of Spanish - Tio Jose is Tio Jose. You would only reference him as Uncle if you were talking to someone who doesn’t speak Spanish at all.
Hope this helps 💕
thank you for this

Shallllooomm I just wanna say that I love your blog and I love you and seeing you so happy over Encanto makes me happy because I can imagine how I would feel if Disney made a movie based on Israel or Jews in general (I really hope one day they will!) and I would act totally the same as you hahahah
Please never stop running this blog because I see how much happiness it brings you and believe me it brings happiness to others too! Sending much love from Yerushalayim ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hooolaaa thank you so so much I’m so glad you like this blog because you are right it really brings me happiness and I’m even more happy when I see other people being happy about it. I can imagine how happy you would be if Disney made a movie based on your religion/country/culture because they did make one based on mine and the feeling is just you know it’s hard to explain but you feel even more in love with your country. I’m not planning on stopping running this blog anytime soon so don’t worry jajajajaj sending love from Cartagena ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

do Colombians and Latinos in general mix Spanish with English how it was in Encanto? I mean for example instead of “your uncle” do you say “your tío”?
well I don’t know how about Latinos in English speaking countries but in Colombia we don’t do it because we just don’t speak English we just speak Spanish. this is why I don’t really like watching Encanto in English it feels weird, mixing languages etc but I understand why they did it like that

I can’t wait for the Christmas special 😭😭😭😭
I don’t celebrate Christmas but I love the vibe of it and I would love to feel the vibe of Colombian Christmas
same 😭😭😭 and I hope so much that if they do the Christmas special they will do it accurately and portray everything correctly because the vibe of Colombian Christmas is really the best and I would love to see it in Encanto. Imagine the Christmas with Madrigals 😩

What do you think about Brazil???I’m a brazilian woman and i hate when someone says we are not “true latinos”.I LOVE being a latina and It really hurts me.We are not second class latinos.Brazil and Colombia have lots of similarities and i think your country is truly pretty
I love Brazil and Brazil is in Latin America so you are Latina there is not doubt in that and people who tell you that you are not are just weird. People tend to forget the difference between Latino and Hispanic and what Latino actually means. It’s not only about your ancestry or the place where you were born it’s about the mindset, the culture and everything and this is what connects us all. Sending much love 🇨🇴❤️🇧🇷
