Impa - Protector, Teacher, Sage

As the Hylian Civil War neared it's end, training completed a young Impa readied herself to join her brothers and sisters in battle as a sworn warrior of Hyrule. However much to her disappointment and anger, the Elder instead gave her a mission of great importance. She was to travel away from the front lines and instead head to Hyrule Castle to become the Guardian of the baby Princess. As her mother had passed away, she was the only remaining vessel of the sacred bloodline and her safety was paramount. She buried her resentment and took her place as the little girl's shadow. In time she grew to truly love the child and knew there was nothing she wouldn't do to ensure the safety and happiness of her charge. When the time came, she relinquished her duty as Zelda's protector to become the Sage of Shadow. Many amongst the Royal Council were concerned for the Princess's safety and her souring attitude without Impa's steadying influence. But little did they know that Impa had long left the Princess equiped to defend herself and take control of her destiny... as both her family and honoured teacher.

Discovering that my last post was the start of June has really blown my mind.

I've spent the last few months dealing with poor health which is now a lot better and have actually fufilled a dream of mine which is to have my own studio space! As my roomie and I finally rent a townhouse and not an apartment I have been able to set up a corner of the garage for myself! And the cat can't get me there and stand on everything hooray!

As result, I have spent a fair amount of time playing with new and old mediums and being focussed mainly on study as opposed to fanart. Making mess with charcoal, pastels both pencil and oil and after many years of debate I finally decided to try oil paint (and it's the shit omg)

I've done barely any digital, namely because a computer update cost me my copy of Photoshop CS6 and all my settings. I have found CC extremely frustrating to use.

I also forgot Inktober for the first time in years until about a week in. I hadn't been making art for a month by that point so it completely slipped my notice. My mates ended up setting up a RPG which ignited the inspiration again so I ended up working on a prologue comic for my PC which I chose to do in ink. Session 0 and the start of the game has revealed her to essentially be female pirate Mavik which i'm naturally loving.

Anyway I'm playing OoT again while waiting desperately for Baldur's Gate to come out on xbox, so will probably be hanging out on the Forgotten War blog.

I’m playing around with a few different ideas in regards to Art History and Myth within the AU but it’s still a bit incoherent at the moment. But here’s some examples of what i’m working on.

someone insults Zelda behind her back, Agitha unleashes locust plague in the palace 💕

Lady Agitha of Castle Town.

Only child of the Mayor of Castle Town, Agitha grew up spoilt by her doting father. Considered incredibly odd by the townsfolk for her love of all things insects she was frequently made fun of, especially as she often treated her beloved bugs as though she could speak with them. She often held parties and picnics for them, calling herself the Princess of the Bug Kingdom.

When she turned 18 she was invited to Court alongside her father where the young Nobles continued to mock her. She soon caught the attention of Princess Zelda who sensed that this odd girl was blessed by Fae magic. Zelda took her under her wing much to the shock of the Court, encouraging her to further explore her connection to the Natural Order.

Agitha, at last had found a friend beyond her beloved bug family and would not hesitate to help when needed.
