Growing up Arab literally means you’ve been told it’s your fault your whole life. It’s your fault you’re Arab, it’s your fault you were displaced from your homeland, it’s your fault you will never get the chance to practice your culture in an environment that endorses it. That’s why it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest when I see think pieces out there about how “well they’re not MY children” “why should I boycott Starbucks for people I’ll never get to know or meet” “I’m not political so it’s not really my business” like that kind of thinking is exactly why Arab suffering has been perpetuated for so long. If it’s not your problem, then whose is it? Because at this point—when multiple countries like Palestine and Sudan are facing ethnic cleansing in real time—it has to be somebody’s problem.

There's SO much discourse around Taylor Swift on this site and it fascinates me, so I making a poll to see what the overall opinion of her (and her music) is.
I am specifically not tagging this with her name because I don't want the audience to be biased towards people who follow her tag, because they're more likely to be fans. Would appreciate it if people of all opinions reblog the poll to get the best sample possible.

These are your 'civilians'.
Tumblr media
It is taking all of my power, my restraint, my strength, not to just say the most violent diatribe imaginable that is trying to enter my mind right now.
Human torture zoos. That's what your 'civilians' are up to. You fucking genocidal pigs.

I don't think people truly understand the gravity of Rafah being bombed.
There is nowhere left to go.
The lowest cost is $5,000 USD to flee to Egypt. There has been people paying over $10,000 USD.
That is the only option
Pay or die.
Rafah was the only place in Palestine promised not to be bombed. That promise is broken.
1.5 million people have nowhere to go!
Reminder, if possible, please donate to the PCRF, ANERA, Islamic Relief, Palestine Red Crescent Society, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Defense for Children International - Palestine, Doctors Without Borders, and all other trusted organizations.

hi everyone, my dad and his siblings have been desperately trying to get my aunt and her whole family out of gaza. I’ve watched him have multiple breakdowns over seeing the conditions they’re living in. they haven’t seen each other in person in literal decades. my aunt’s home in gaza city was completely destroyed and her family have had to repeatedly flee from the devastation. they deserve a better life than this, her kids deserve a better future than this.
it costs an insane amount to get over the egyptian border. please, donate if you can or rb this, it would mean a lot. thank you

the amount of ways we have to qualify the geoncide in gaza in order to get people to care is actually sickening to me. “it’s a feminist issue!” “it’s a disabilities issue!” “it’s an environmental issue!” like i’m sorry but even if this was happening solely to able bodied men and was causing no harm to the environment, it would still be wrong because it’s a genocide and these people are being bombed and killed and starved every fucking day. you shouldn’t need an extra label to give you a reason to care about people that are dying.

I have just read your story "I wanna be happy, I'm ready" and it was a beautifully complex, cathartic and moving experience reading it. From start to finish it was like being wrapped up in the warmest blanket of emotions. It was the first time I ever felt like someone truly understood the depth of what was lost for Gamora during Infinity War and then took the time to explore what it meant for her and give her the kind of loving and healing journey canon skipped over.
Everything from Gamora's relationship with herself to her relationship with Nebula and all the other characters was raw and poignant and I don't think I've cried this much reading a fic in a very long time or felt as much joy as all the healing took place. You managed to capture how much was taken from her when she was killed and then give it back to her in a way that made it clear that giving it back wasn't about one relationship or one part of her life. Instead it's that everything she was and managed to build for herself was hers to own and not her abusers. Being a guardian and having specific relationships with those characters and taking on the kind of work that they did was more than a fun experience. It was the affirmation that she's not Thanos' daughter. That the parts of herself she hated thanks to Thanos were not the entirety of her life and worth as a person. All of this was felt so deeply reading your story.
I feel like there is a ton more I could say but mostly I just wanted you to know that what you wrote was beautiful and meaningful. If there was ever an opportunity presented to explore Gamora more in canon I would be praying that whoever was behind it had the same vision you did, because your vision was the most wonderfully humanizing vision for Gamora.
ahhhh thank you for this anon!!!! your message truly means the world to me 🫶🏼 that fic was born from all the things i wanted canon to acknowledge abt gamora's character that it failed to do :'(( i'm so grateful to connect with others like you who feel the same way abt her character as i do 🫂
