Id: Video starts off with a large stack of coloring books and various coloring supplies. Then it cuts to various clips of distributing colors to the children of the camps in Rafah. The three images that follow are of children receiving the coloring books.
Israel's actions are evil. Pure evil. Nobody deserves to experience what they have done and are doing to the Palestinians. Nobody. This is not self defense. Trying to get rid of a whole people is not self defense.
i still cannot get it out of my head that a police officer pointed a gun and screamed "get on the ground" repeatedly when faced with a young man burning alive. its been like 12h since i saw the video and it keeps coming back to me. you literally could not ever make this up
if someone wrote this scene as a political metaphor ppl would roll their eyes, as if as if as if. and it just happened. the arm of the state that holds a gun knows nothing but killing even when faced with death itself
Growing up Arab literally means you’ve been told it’s your fault your whole life. It’s your fault you’re Arab, it’s your fault you were displaced from your homeland, it’s your fault you will never get the chance to practice your culture in an environment that endorses it. That’s why it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest when I see think pieces out there about how “well they’re not MY children” “why should I boycott Starbucks for people I’ll never get to know or meet” “I’m not political so it’s not really my business” like that kind of thinking is exactly why Arab suffering has been perpetuated for so long. If it’s not your problem, then whose is it? Because at this point—when multiple countries like Palestine and Sudan are facing ethnic cleansing in real time—it has to be somebody’s problem.
the flour massacre is ongoing. it is everyday. it was not an isolated event. it was not even the first time israel shot at and killed palestinians going for aid (they do it whenever they allow aid through). in fact, they did the exact same thing yesterday morning. just because smaller-scale murders go under the radar for lack of shock factor doesn’t mean they’re not happening continuously.
I just saw a picture of a Palestinian run over by a bulldozer. I am not okay. That was... Yeah naw that settler colony needs to go. I need everyone involved sentenced to life or death. What could possibly make you run someone over... What a cruel fucking way to die... It took me a moment to realize what I was seeing...
it broke today that biden airdropped aid to gaza. other than the fact that this is an obvious pr move ahead of his re-election campaign, i think it's important to stress how ineffective this method is compared to just allowing humanitarian access to come through. airdrops carry far less aid than truck convoys, for one, and require an airdrop zone with a lot of idealistic conditions that don't often coincide. this is a major reason why you hear a lot of airdrops being conducted at beaches--and why a lot of them have been blown to the sea. and what's even more dangerous about that is that a lot of these palestinians are malnourished, starving, in a delirious state of mind. many of them are so utterly hungry that they'd be willing to swim through just to get their hands on a sodden meal. but apparently this is the best thing the us, which literally funds israel's ongoing genocide, can do for palestinians at the moment.
I'm going to keep posting about this because WHY AM I STILL SEEING PROMO POSTS BEING MADE TODAY NO LESS THAN 15 MINUTES AGO? that is NOT important. now CLEARLY ISNT THE TIME. making rentry graphics isnt, and never will be, important enough to ignore an ongoing genocide. today is supposed to be a complete shutdown; a global call to action, and so many of you are just ignoring it.
please, LISTEN. don't scroll past this post or ignore it. don't scroll past ANY posts about palestine. you can wait for ONE DAY to post your edits. this is more important than your fandoms or interests. please, be a decent human being. you CAN make a difference, especially those of you with large followings.

the United States airdropped 38,000 meals into Gaza
some progress, I guess, but it’s not enough.
the airdrop on March 2, 2024, came two days after 100+ Palestinians were killed after Israeli forces opened fire on desperate, starving civilians in what was dubbed the “flour massacre.”
this is part of an US attempt to aid Palestinians as Gaza faces starvation. three US air force cargo planes dropped 38,000 meals — no water or medical supplies — in southwest Gaza. but cargo planes can’t carry as much as aid convoy trucks. and we’ve seen the tragedy that happened.
aid groups have criticized this plan, and they are absolutely right. they’ve said the focus should be forcing Israel to open up more ports and entryways into Gaza instead of airdropping because trucks can carry way more supplies, like I’ve mentioned.
there are also several drawbacks to airdropping supplies: it’s inefficient, expensive, and doesn’t provide enough aid. there are 1.5+ million refugees in Rafah. 38,000 meals can only provide for ~0.253% of the refugees. it’s not even 1%.
but the Gazans need everything they can get right now. airdrops, however inefficient they are, are essential for Gazans to survive.
support a ceasefire now.
