Hi Buri!! It was such a nice surprise to see your name back on my dash!! If you don't mind, I'd love to hear more about two of your Guardian wips. First is the crack twin fic. Which twins is it about? Shen Wei and Ye Zun? Chu Shuzhi and Chu Nianzhi? Are so many Dixingren being twins the crack part??? There are so many possibilities here and I am v curious.
The second one is the mindreading fic. Who is doing the mind reading? Is it a "gift" bestowed on someone by the Hallows? A regular Dixing power?? Tell me more (please if you have time and you want to <3)

The crack twins fic maaaaay be a misnomer (whoops!) I just opened the document to refresh my memory and the working title on the document is "Seeing Double" while "Crack Twins Fic" is the filename. It's an outline of a 5+1 in a fix-it universe where Zhao Yunlan comes back but Zhang Shi is still in his old body... Shenanigans and mistaken identities ensue. So, no biological twins.
The mindreading fic is another 5+1 (yes, they're my comfort format) of 5 times Zhao Yunlan thinks that one of Shen Wei's powers is mind reading and the one time he realizes that it isn't.

I have. Questions about the thistledown Guardian wips you have. Mainly. What is thistledown/how are they all linked? 👀

I've been having pretty bad writer's block (or, writing for work taking up all the words?). I saw a deck of oracle cards called Thistledown, created by Stephanie Burrows and illustrated by Adam Oehlers and the illustrations just started sparking all of these ideas. I've been pulling random cards and writing short fics based on the the word/feel.
Most of them are Ye Zun centric, and so far, most of them are closer to the "Find Our Way Back" fics than either Mao Didi or In His Shoes. I call the the Thistledown Ficlets after the deck and each one word title is the name of a card.

It's @mdzsrbb time again!!! @mockedspace and I have a fic for any dragon-noodle fans or fans of Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen! Please go give mockedspace and her fic some love <3
I had a great deal of fun with this partnership. I got to pull out my watercolor landscapes again and paint tiny JC. I'd say he's a giant in the first painting at a hair over 2cm tall from boots to bun, but...
Then I painted this one, and both Dragon Xichen and Jiang Cheng are *big*. JC (from waist to the top of his bun) is 2.9 cm.

I get to share my second @mdzsrbb partnership for 2023!!! Saichan took my art and ran with it in all the most amazing ways, taking a single thread and making something wonderful.
This fic is all about family, friends, and preparing for an exciting future. Jiang Yanli is at the center of it all, and it was a delight to get to know her this way through Saichan's words.

So I'm not doing an official Journal 52 challenge this year; even though I did complete the weeks for 2022, I ended up leaving them in my notebooks instead of scanning. Also. Words. Not necessarily my strong suit sometimes.
So for this year (2023) I'm just going to share random art as I get it done and scanned.
Saw some lovely work at a market and decided to try to recreate some of effects in my own preferred media. This is done with FineTec Pearlescent watercolors and gold foil.

I’m thoroughly excited to be able to share what I’ve been working on for the last few months!
I had a phenomenal time collaborating with the magnificent Magpie during the @mdzsrbb for 2023! We have an illustrated fic to share with you all, featuring two lonely and hurting cultivators taking care of a couple of orphaned children. There's angst, and feelings, and found family. We hope you enjoy!!
Just so there are no spoilers; here's the inspiration piece of Jiang Cheng with A Yuan and Jin Ling done in papercraft and watercolor:

Chapter 1: A worn down Lan Wangji carrying a bundle (baby A Yuan) and holding his sword up defensively
Chapter 2: Jiang Cheng carrying an unconscious Lan Wangji on his back while he holds a feverish A Yuan close.
Chapter 3: A Yuan gets a baozi in Lotus Pier.
Chapter 4: A Yuan learning to help Lan Wangji with his ribbon.
Chapter 5: Two Jiang juniors carrying a heavy chest.
Chapter 6: A serious discussion between Lan Wangji and Lan Xichen
Chapter 7: Jin Ling being angry and fighting with his safety rope.
Chapter 8: Jiang Cheng talking with Jin Ling.
Chapter 9: A Yuan, Jiang Cheng, and Lan Wangji kneeling and lighting incense.
Chapter 10: Lan Wangji presses his forehead against Jiang Cheng's; Jiang Cheng looks confused.
Chapter 11: Jin Ling runs off with Fairy.
Chapter 12: Lan Sizhui hugs Jin Ling

Papercraft commission of Wei Wuxian (flautist extraordinaire) and Lan Wangji (a dragon)!
I had sooo much fun with this one - not only was it an adorable request and an interesting composition, but I got to bust out my slowly-growing collection of dragon-patterned papers! (You can see some twisty scaly serpents in the black fabric of Wei Wuxian’s robes and in Wangji’s blue mane.) I may have to make more dragon-themed art of these two lovebirds (or rather, a lovebird and a love…mythological creature…?) in the future.
