A great series to read

I recently found a series that I  found and could not put down.  It is called Renegades by Marissa Meyer.  This book is written for young adults (or teens) but no matter what your age is, it is still a great series of books.  It is a trilogy about superheroes and villains.  The age old question is explored whether a villain can become a superhero and vice and versa.   These three books in the series follow Nova, our villain.  But is she really a villain?  We learn about her history.  A thought does come to mind of does our past affect our future.  This truly is the case in these books.  This thought does not just pertain to the character of Nova.  I kept having this thought when other characters were introduced. It also follows Adrian, our superhero.  He shows us just because you have a superpower and are a superhero, it may not make you feel like it is enough.  So what do you do?  You look for more power.  This may not be a bad thing but this character should teach us that who we are is good enough. Now one person once told me that it was difficult to follow the story because there were so many characters.  Are there?  Perhaps but superheros and villains do have alter egos.  What would Superman be without Clark Kent?  Or Bruce Wayne without Batman?  What is helpful is that in the second book of the series (Archenemies) it does give a listing of the characters and their alter egos. If you read these books, let me know what you thought.  I obviously do not want to give anything away.  I want everyone to read these books and just enjoy them.

Always looking for good books

One of my favourite things to do is to read.  I tend to have a list of authors that I love and will read all of their books and then I have the daunting task of finding a new book to read from an unknown author. I am sure others have the same issue as me.  I ask people to recommend books.  I look at lists of books that are on the internet to see what the top books of previous years were, or what books have won awards. Now, when looking for ebooks, I will look at popular titles and to see what other people are reading. I am also lucky enough to work in a library.  So I am looking at books all day long.  And yes whenever I see a book that piques my interest I have my 'to read' list ready at hand.  It is amazing how many wonderful books I have found this way.  Although I must admit, my 'to read' list is growing by the day. So, the purpose of this blog is for me to share my favourite books and authors with you and if you want you can recommend books to me.  Let the book sharing begin!!! I cannot wait.
