ACOTAR theory
I know this has been discussed already many times but I just realised some things last night and wanted to share them with you (I know that somehow I am always late to the party)
theory: Tamlin and Rhys‘ sister were mates.
And there are a bunch of reasons I believe that:
The pool of starlight in the Spring Court. Tamlin told Feyre that he does not really know how it got there. What if he actually does know and just could not bring himself to tell Feyre. What if he made that pool thingy for Rhys sister or in remembrance of her? Maybe the water reminded him of her eyes…or she helped him make it?
Tamlin‘s overprotectiveness. What if he is terrified of loss because he lost his mate? What if that is why he locked Feyre in and wanted to keep her safe so badly? Because he could not keep his mate safe…
It would make sense that they had known each other. Rhys and Tamlin had been friends and maybe Tamlin got closer with Rhys‘ sister
Okay that is now super, super farfetched but in folklore Tam Lin finds his true love in the queen of fairies. She is often named Titania. Aaand in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night‘s Dream Titania is the queen of fairies. Night and dream somehow seem familiar….
What if Tamlin's father found out about them and that was the reason for him to kill them? To hurt not only the Night Court but also his son who had failed him.
Tamlin burned the wings. What if he could not stand seeing the wings of his dead mate? What if the reminder ruined him.
What if the darkness and anger inside of Tamlin solely stems from this loss and hurt?
These are just a few things that came to my mind, none of them should apologise his behaviour but maybe serve as a little explanation and I would love to hear what you think 💭
