IMPORTANT WARNING
This is about a scammer. They’re name is thequeen-8 , stay away from them and report them if you can please. They contacted me over private messaging on Tumblr. Thing is, this has happened to me before. Same set up, same website, same ‘insentive’ to come. I don’t have screenshots of the first, because I didn’t realize it was a scam back then. Luckily, neither time did I click on the link, make an account, or any of that. In fact, once I realized it was a scam, I just started lying. I just kind of want to break it down, and show the similarities between the two I had to deal with.
So random person contacts me out of the blue. I’m bored so I reply, though I’m a little confused on how they found me.
Ok, this is the first similarity I noticed. Friend search. I’m not entirely sure what they mean, but the first scammer I delt with said the same thing. They found me randomly because of a search of some kind. Also, that last text their is them telling me they’re a 22 year old female, which I sincerely doubt, and it has nothing to do with the rest of my comments to them.
Ok, suggesting something to do if you’re up for it, this was something else the other did as well. As well as telling me they were getting back to college from a break. Both said roughly the same thing. This is when I started to realize this was probably a scam….but I played along.
Ok, more similarities, both scammers said they work online on a webcam show, both said they’re friends introduced them to it. Both used the term 'warm up’, and both had private passes to these 'shows’, also, they both had terrible grammar. I’m not sure if you noticed, but…this is strangely suggestive. Keep that in mind will ya?
Ok, this is where I knew it was a scam. I’ve seen that website before, or one like it. The first scammer gave me a link just like it. I know this is obvious safety rules, but if someone gives you a link, DON’T follow it unless it’s one of your close friends. Now with the first scammer, this is where I politely shut them down…but I was curious here so I continued talking to them.
Ok, yup, a scam. Anything that involves a card is probably a scam. Also, I’m a minor where I live, so under 18. This age limit is also strangely suggestive. And telling me I should feel special, that is manipulation. I debated on telling them this, but didn’t as ultimately I was just messing with them and wasting their time.
Once again, very suggestive. This was the point where I just started outright lying to them, and that was the last message they sent.
So yeah, this seems to be the same person as the first scam I had to deal with, or someone with similar format. Just be aware of this type of scam, because while I haven’t clicked on the links, it could’ve been false advertising, or worse a sexual predator.
This is just an FYI for all y'all, and I think it’s v important for as many people to be aware as possible.
