I want to regard my last post in which was referencing this meme with characters from Turning Red. I had no intentions for it to be weird, i am a minor myself and i dont believe in any proship ideologies or support any sexualization of children. Being of their age group its horrifying and uncomfortable for people to not only assume this of me but to also call me a p*dophile. The reason why i had chosen Miriam was because of a rumor on Twitter saying that her character is trans; people had made posts with screenshots regarding a casting position for a character called Jess which people had presumed was an early name idea and concept for Miriam. This casting post was from Pixar and stated “Pixar is casting a youth voice-over role for an upcoming animated project.

The character, Jess, is a 14-year-old transgender girl.

She's compassionate, funny, and always has your back.

We're looking for actresses 12 - 17 years old who:

- Are enthusiastic, outgoing, funny, and energetic

- Feel comfortable acting in front of a microphone

- Can authentically portray a 14-year-old transgender girl”

Given the description people assumed it was about Miriam which was later debunked but I had made this drawing with that in mind at the time those posts were relevant. I chose Tyler because he was the only male character in their group. I thought people knew the meme well enough and could tell it was satire, so i did not cross my mind that the context was needed. I apologize for the way it came off without the context.

Another thing id like to address is that I feel like this post also garnered the attention of a lot of transphobes. As a trans person myself it was uncomfortable and strange to see people view something thats a medical procedure for transitioning as something that is sexual in a post about kids. this isn't to take away from my apology, and i wasn't trying to make an argument with this drawing that kids should be able to undertake bottom/top surgery, though i feel that seeing people's takeaway from this was a form of “surgery taken by trans people = sexual” is a very horrible ideology and i don't agree with that.

Having said all that i do want to apologize for something i ignorantly portrayed. Being so focused on replacing the character from the original meme with another character that was also an animal, i thought it would be a good idea to use Mei. Carelessly i didnt think of the words she was using. Of course my ignorance does not excuse my actions and i will be much more conscious of these matters moving forward. I want to thank anyone who corrected me on this as well.

Overall, i apologize for this drawing and any harm that i have caused with it. Like i said i will be more conscious of the content i put out in the future and ill be sure to include context when applicable.
