“Psst. Hey it’s time to get up Teddy.” Soap’s voice spoke gently as you felt a soft shake to your shoulder. With a groan you finally stirred, tired eyes blinking sleep away as you looked around your surroundings.
You’d all finally made it back to your shabby little base in the middle of who-knows-where after another rough mission Captain Price so generously assigned to you all.
The mission was simple enough– take out some Russian special arms dealer, locate where he kept his contraband and call it day– but when a miscalculation on locations, an escaped hostage, and an ambush that nearly left you with a bullet between your eyes was all you got, it was safe to assume you felt like absolute shit.
Normally after a mission you’d race the others to the showers, a playful competition to who can waste Captain Price’s hot water first, but tonight’s failed mission had you in a particularly bad mood.
You’d hopped out of the dust covered car onto sore legs with the help of a chuckling Gaz who muttered something about you looking like a grumpy little hamster as you shuffled your way into the base and made a bee-line towards your bunk.
You were known for being a sweet docile little thing hence your call sign but everyone knew to get out of your way whenever you were feeling off. Your menacing aura rivaled even that of your Lieutenant Ghost who seemed to be the only one to even get near you without the fear of having their head bitten off.
As soon as your knees touched the side of your thin mattress you fell face first into the itchy material, the springs under you creaking loudly but you were too tired to mind it. Even as you lay there with your tactical gear still strapped tightly to your chest and thighs digging into your skin you made no effort to move.
You shoved your face into your pillow hoping the cotton would suffocate you so you wouldn’t have to get up the next morning and continue with your objective. It wasn’t unusual for you to make a mistake or two during a mission but this time everything seemed to be going wrong on your end.
You were sinking deeper and deeper into your self doubts that you hadn’t noticed the sound of heavy boots making their way towards your bunk until the mattress dipped next you, the springs once again startling you.
You shot up, hair falling into your eyes as you looked up to see Soap, Gaz, Price, and Ghost circling you. Soap had plopped down next to you with a wide smile, one that usually meant he was scheming something.
Gaz had the same look, Price looked casual and Ghost hung back closer to the door as he leaned against it with his arms crossed over his chest. His large frame almost completely filling the doorway.
“What did I do now?” You sighed, sitting up and getting ready to rip off your heavy gear. Were they here to ridicule you about the mission? You knew they were nothing but the sweetest teammates but this was dragging on too long, had they gotten tired and finally decided to kick you out?
Tears threatened to fill your eyes as your mind continued to race, your hands fumbling with your vest clumsily to distract yourself.
There was a beat of silence before Price spoke. “You didn’t do anything wrong– on the contrary the boys here wanted to reward you.”
Your head tilted up at his words, the men laughing a bit as they took notice of your confused face. Soap bumped his shoulder into yours playfully before pulling something from his pocket.
He held out a small black package in his palm. “We noticed you’ve been pretty stressed out there so we thought this would cheer you up, even just a little.” Gaz grinned mentioning you to take the mystery item.
Your eyes flicked from Soap’s hand to Ghost who’s dark eyes bore into you from his position, a small nod was all you needed from the man to delicately pick the gift up and unwrap it revealing a cheap looking lipstick.
You felt a warmness seep into the pit of your stomach as you popped open the cap and twisted it until the dark red product showed itself.
The hot tears began to sting your eyes once more, this time in happiness as your shoulders slumped in defeat. “You guys– this is… this is so sweet of you. Thank you, honestly this is just– thank you.” You gave them a wobbly smile as you capped the lipstick and stood to give each man a tight hug that they happily returned, satisfied to finally see your trademark smile gracing them once again.
When you’d first joined the task force they’d noticed your love for makeup. Even if it was subtle you’d told them that it was almost like a form of therapy for yourself, the time it took to apply it was time for you to forget the harsh reality of your work.
However lately with the stresses of the job you’d been more detached, choosing to hide away at the firing range or your bunk. You’d even stopped following Ghost around like a lost puppy, it was worrying. Usually where Ghost was you’d be right behind him.
“How did you guys even get this?” You questioned only to receive a wave off from Soap. “Don’t worry about it lass. Get some rest for now, it’s late.”
With that the trio made their way out of the room leaving you alone with Ghost who made his way over to you when he deemed you had enough privacy.
You smiled up warmly at him, his heart clenching painfully as he saw the bags under your eyes from sleepless nights. His gloved hand came up to cup your cheek wordlessly, thumb stroking the soft skin as you leaned into his touch.
“Were you in on this too?” You hummed, watching his hands move from your face down to the straps of your vest, pulling them away until it fell off your form
Ghost kept quiet until your gear was placed in a neat pile by the foot of your bed and his arms circled around your waist, pulling your much smaller form against his firm chest.
“Stop blaming yourself for things that are out of your control.”
You silently cursed how intuitive your boyfriend was. You could never get away with anything when he was around.
You rested your cheek against his peck and silently nodded, allowing yourself to melt into his warm embrace while his steady heartbeat relaxed you.
But this was one of the beauties of having such an intuitive boyfriend; he could read you like an open book, understanding your feelings with a mere glance making it much easier for you who found it hard to verbalize your feelings. A simple touch was enough to convey any emotion you’d both wanted to communicate with uttering a single word.
“Thank you, truly.” You spoke after a moment, turning your cheek slightly to give his chest a soft kiss before resting your chin on him and looking up with a gentle smile.
Ghost looked down at you and pulled you away just enough so he could pull your hand up, motioning to the lipstick.
“Well, try it on. Let’s have a look.”
You uncapped the lipstick once more, bringing it up to your lips and using muscle memory to apply it as best you could with the lack of a mirror.
“So?” You turned to Ghost with an expectant grin.
His large gloved hand came up cup your cheek as he admired how plush your lips looked, so ready for the taking. “There’s my pretty girl, absolutely stunning.
No matter how much Ghost compliments you, (it’s almost too much) you can never get used to how the low rumble of his voice fills you to your very core, making you feel small and helpless as if he were holding some delicate treasure.
You snuggled into his hand, holding your own to the back of his so he had no choice but to keep it there. Your eyes flicked up to his them slowly down to his masked lips, silently begging with your gaze full of innocence that you knew drove him crazy.
He moved in, one finger pushing up his balaclava just enough for his scared jaw and plush lips to show. You didn’t need another second admiring him as you pushed yourself up on your tip toes and claimed his lips.
Ghost’s arms loosened around your waist, his hands gently sliding up and down your waist and hips forcing your body to press tighter into his until you had backed him up, the back of his knees hitting your bunk.
He swiftly sat, pulling you to straddle his thighs before sliding one hand into your hair and guiding you back to devour you in an increasingly heated kiss.
Your arms wrapped firmly around his neck, your thighs squeezing his own when his other hand teasingly moved under your shirt, his gloved thumb tracing soft circles against your hip bone and up up up until he was able to just barely touch the underside of your breast.
You whimpered against his lips, his tongue gently sliding against your bottom lip asking for silent permission that you were more than happy to give.
You couldn’t help but moan at the taste of coffee and cigarettes as your tongue fought for dominance, a battle you lost every time.
It wasn’t often that Ghost was this bold in his actions, always being cautious by nature and liking his privacy. The risk was high knowing that just in the other room sat all your squad mates, neither of them knowing that you and ghost were even together in the first place.
That thought alone had you desperately rolling your hips down into his quickly hardening length, forcing a needy moan out of you both. It’d been so long since the two of you had any type of intimacy other than a few secret pecks here and there and the stress of your past week was putting you more on edge.
You both pulled away from the kiss, your lipstick smudged across Ghost’s own lips and cheek making him look absolutely delectable.
“Simon…” you whimpered, your hand moving down his chest to try and cup his erection through his pants only to stop when you heard an awkward cough by the door.
You pushed Simon off of you with all your might, sending his large frame tumbling off the side of the bed as you furiously wiped your lips only to make an even bigger mess of bright red.
Captain Price had his arms crossed over his chest with a sly smirk, Soap’s jaw was practically on the floor, and Gaz hid his flushed face behind his hands.
“We weren’t- we just- L-Lieutenant was just helping me take off the lipstick!” You half-yelled in your frantic state.
“Can I help too?” Soap raised his hand in question only to earn a death glare from Ghost who was adjusting his mask and a slap to the back of the head from a very unamused Price.

Childe tapped his foot along to the music playing through his headphones as he sat on at a bench across the street from his little brother’s pre-school.
There wasn’t anything particularly special about today, just finish a lab at school, have at least an hour of studying and homework meanwhile Tonia and Anthon came home from their own school and help Childe prepare lunch before one of the three go pick Teucer up and that’s the day.
Childe felt pretty restless after a pretty boring class so he volunteered to take the walk down the street to get the youngest red-head.
Before long the door to the building cracked open revealing a line of tiny tots with big eyes scanning the group of parents ready to find theirs and go home.
Childe paused his song and jogged to the building looking for a puff of red curls among the little lot.
It wasn’t long before little Teucer stepped out, his blue eyes sparkling in excitement as he saw his big brother wave to him and kneel down to catch the little boy in a tight hug.
“Big brother!” Teucer giggled happily as Childe scooped him up into his strong arms and gave him a twirl.
“What’s up little man? Did you have a good day at school?”
Teucer flashed him a wide smile, his little hand coming up to show his wrist that now adorned a crudely made bead bracelet with bright neon colors that made no sense.
Childe chuckled and tilted his head, “wow that’s beautiful! did you make that today?”
Teucer shook his head and pointed behind him to another little boy with raven black hair and big green eyes that sat by himself on the little bench by the playground. His head down as he watched his worn shoes kick up and down as to entertain himself while he waited for his parent.
“He’s the new kid! We sit together and made bracelets!”
Childe looked around as most of the kids and adults had already left. It seemed like his parent was running late and he of course didn’t want to leave the little boy alone despite there being the workers around so he set Teucer down and took his backpack from him.
“Why don’t you go play with your friend until his mommy or daddy come to get him okay?”
Teucer didn’t need to be asked twice as he sprinted towards his new friend, the green-eyed boy looking up startled before breaking into the cutest smile and shrugging off his own backpack to join Teucer on the swing set.
“Big brother!” The younger red-head waved, “come push me and Beau!”
Childe grinned and slung the small bag over his shoulder before making his way over to the two boys.
His friend, Beau he guessed, shrunk into himself shyly as he looked up at the much taller man.
Childe held back his need to pinch the cherubs cheeks instead kneeling down and extending a hand out with a gentle smile.
“Hello buddy! My name is Childe, I’m Teucer’s big brother, what’s your name?”
The boy hesitated for a moment as he looked at Childe’s hand and back at Teucer who only smiled wide.
His friend wasn’t joking when he said his big brother was a big as a building, or every other praise his classmate sang about the man during their time in class.
Beau was very shy but something about the warm blue eyes told him he was safe with the man. He took his much larger hand in his tiny one and gave him a shake, the laugh that came from Childe instantly calming his worries down.
“So you guys want to go up up high into the sky or what?” Childe grinned as he stood placed one hand behind each boy and gave them a small push to get the swing started.
“Up up and away like an astronaut!” Teucer exclaimed with excitement, his hands gripping the chains of the swing tightly.
Beau began to giggle and nod as he braced himself just as Childe began to push them a little harder sending them into a steady rhythm.
Soon enough the quiet playground was bursting with happily shrieks and laughter as the little boys wiggled their legs and looked up at the sky with the granted height the swings gave them, which wasn’t a lot to begin with because Childe made sure they didn’t actually get hurt, but was more than enough for them.
“Beau!” The boy’s head snapped down at the familiar voice and wiggled excitedly when a woman practically ran into the gated playground, her heels clacking with each step as her worried expression melted into a relieved one.
Childe helped the little boy off the swing as he wasted no time in running over to you, his little arms wrapping around your neck as you kneeled down to the cement, not caring that the dirt was not staining your new pencil skirt.
“Oh my baby!” You sighed out dramatically before placing loud kisses on Beau’s chubby cheeks as he giggled and tried to get away. “Mommy is so sorry my love. Did you wait a long time?”
Your worry came back full force as you held Beau at arms length, inspecting him for any injuries.
Beau shook his head and turned around to point to Teucer and Childe as they made their way over with Beau’s forgotten backpack.
“Teucer and his big brother played with me! I went up into the sky like a rocket!” He jumped up making noises as Teucer joined in.
Childe felt his heart stop when you looked up at him, your smile enough to make his hands clam up and his mouth open and shut like a fish as he tried to find words.
You were probably the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. You couldn’t have been more than 23, it made him wonder how young you were when you had your son or more importantly– if there was a ring on your finger.
“Thank you so much for staying with Beau. We just moved to this city so I got a little lost figuring out the train system. I hope my boy wasn’t too much trouble for you?” You smiled that graceful smile that entranced him.
Childe coughed into his closed palm as he tried to collect and not embarrass himself. “Oh don’t worry about it, I wanted to make sure he wasn’t by himself. He’s a little angel, I should be thankful that he can handle Teucer.”
He watched as you looked back to the playing boy, a soft smile on your lips as your shoulders slowly lost their tension.
“I’m Childe by the way.” He held his hand out to you.
“Oh! I’m (Y/n)! I’m sorry where are my manners, today has just been– busy.” You laughed and took his hand, giving it a grateful squeeze.
Childe tried not to think about how perfectly your hand fit into his. “Don’t apologize, I understand. You said you just moved here? Where did you move from?”
You slowly walked to the bench Beau was previously sitting on and plopped down with a sigh as Childe followed. “We moved in from Sumeru, I wasn’t finding good work there so I decided Liyue would be a better city. I just never expected it to be so big.”
Childe laughed and nodded along. “I hear you, my family moved here from Snezhnaya when Teucer was just a baby. It took some time to adjust but it’s not too much trouble, I’m sure you’ll get a routine going soon.”
“I hope you’re right.” You smiled but it didn’t reach your tired eyes. “I start my new job tomorrow so I need be able to read the train routes properly or I’m dead. Even finding this place was kind of a challenge, I’m glad they let my Beau in.”
A comfortable silence over the two of you for a moment before Childe decided this was his chance.
“I’m more than happy to wait with Beau until you get a hang of things around here.”
You looked back at the man with sparkles in your eyes. “Really? I couldn’t ask you to do something like that– I’m sure you’re very busy. Actually I might be holding you back right now!”
You stood from the bench and picked up your sons backpack, turning to call him.
“Hey hey, no it’s okay honestly.” Childe smiled and put a gentle hand on your elbow to stop you.
“I live down the street anyways and I’m always free around this time so–“ He shrugged trying to play it cool.
You studied him for a moment before throwing yourself into him for a tight hug. “You have no idea how thankful I am. I’ll pay you back I promise!”
Before Childe could put his arms around you, you pulled away and took your cellphone out asking for his number that he couldn’t have given fast enough.
The weeks that followed were complete bliss for the red-head. Being able to see you a few times a week was enough for him to develop a small crush that was growing day by day until he began to associate even the smallest of things to you.
A song on the radio about love? Your smile reminded him of that. A pretty dress in a luxurious window? The material would look perfect against your skin.
Everything about you had him entranced, even the tiniest of actions. Like now– how you pulled a wet wipe out of your purse to wipe chocolate ice cream off Beau and Teucer’s cheeks made his heart flutter.
Your laugh was perfect, he could count the galaxy in your eyes, and when you wrapped your arms around him in thankful hugs he couldn’t keep the feeling out of his head.
His friends Kaeya, Dottore, and Yoimiya would constantly tease him when he’d confined in them even going so far as to steal his phone one night and dial your number as Childe frantically chased Kaeya around his living room until he managed to hang up just before you were able to pick up.
“What’s wrong with you? I swear–“ Childe huffed I’m annoyance as he shot you a quick apology text, trying to explain the call without too many incriminating details.
“Oh come on!” Kaeya laughed as he held his hands up in surrender. “I just wanted to help a friend out, you haven’t made a move and she’s bound to get snatched away if you don’t hurry!”
Dottore laughed loudly as Childe rolled his eyes and plopped back down onto the couch next to Yoimiya giving her his best puppy eyes as a sign of help knowing that the blonde was the only one who could bring order to all this madness.
“Okay guys that’s enough, stop teasing him like you two don’t have your own romantic issues.”
Kaeya looked scandalized as he placed a hand against his chest in mock shock. “When I like people I tell them, I don’t like playing cat and mouse.”
Yoimiya gave him a deadpan look. “So I can just call up Rosaria and talk about how you dream about ‘kissing her under the moonlight’ right?”
The sputter of jambled words was enough to prove the girls point and make another snort leave Dottore’s lips. “Don’t think I won’t tell Scara about you either.” She gave the blue-haired man a side eye that shut him up in record time.
She turned to Childe and placed a friendly hand on his shoulder, giving it a soft squeeze. “Listen, as annoying as the guys are they kind of have a point.”
Childe shot the blonde a look of betrayal only to be kept shut as she held a hand up and continued, “I’m not saying you need to confess right this second but if you’re serious about her you need to start making a move– see if there’s a chance she feels the same. Invite her and her son over for dinner at your place or something.”
Childe wanted to argue, turn down the helpful advice that forced a dust of pink across his cheeks but he bit his bottom lip instead and looked down at the locked screen of his phone in his fiddling hands.
“What did you say her name was again?” Dottore questioned.
“(Y/n) (L/n).” Childe was more than happy to supply.
“Wait a second– (Y/n)? I think I’ve heard about her. Pull up a picture I need to make sure.” He got up from his seat on the floor and forced his way between the blonde and red-head ignoring their protests as he waited for Childe to pull up a picture you’d taken of You and Beau at a petting zoo.
The picture looked liked it’d be taken a year or two ago, Beau was even tinier and you’d looked like even more of teenager than a young woman.
Dottore squinted at the screen before a lightbulb went off in his head. “Ah! I remember now! (Y/n) from Qixing Inc. right?”
Childe looked confused before nodding slowly, trying to reason how Dottore could know about you. Well, Dottore knew a lot of people and he lived in Sumeru for a while so it wasn’t entirely impossible but that didn’t mean that he liked it.
Trying to push the burning jealousy bubbling in the pit of his brain away he instead asked how he knew of you.
Dottore shrugged, “A friend of mine had taken a few classes with her at The Akademiya. Said that they’re surprised (Y/n) even managed to graduate.”
Now this was surprising. Childe remembered you mentioning that you’d graduated from The Akademiya but you’d looked far less than happy bringing up the school’s name so he decided not to press on.
Childe knew he should have respected your wish to not talk about it but curiosity got the best of him and he motioned for his friend to continue.
“She disappeared for like a year and suddenly came back. They said that she barely attended class, and when she did she had to leave right away or sometimes even in the middle of it. Some classmates were worried she’d gotten herself into trouble so they followed her to ask if she was okay–“
Dottore paused for a second as if placing pieces of a puzzle together.
“Turns out the owner of the cafe down the street was babysitting her boy while she went to school. Everyone was shocked, said she never seemed like the type to date much less have a kid so young. Anyways, stuff was said about her character but it’s not very kind. I’ll spare you the details.”
Childe let out a soft exhale. He guessed you’d gotten pregnant, taken a year off to raise Beau, and went back to school even if it was difficult. His heart ached imagining how hard it must have been on you juggling so many things at once– still.
Childe spent the rest of the night in thoughtful silence, feeling slightly guilty for knowing something you’d seemed like you’d wanted to keep from him but it helped him understand you so much better.
It all made sense to him now as to why you’d change the subject whenever Beau’s father came up. He never pushed you about it but it didn’t help tone down his curiosity and jealousy about the man who’d been lucky enough to call you his at one point.
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and Childe was busy buckling Teucer into his booster seat in the back of his very shiny and very expensive car.
Childe placed a bag of takeout in the boy’s lap after the little one had insisted he wanted to help his brother out. “Make sure not to drop it or else Beau and (Y/n) won’t be able to have lunch okay?”
Teucer gave his big brother a look of fiery determination and clutched his little fists around the bag tightly. Childe laughed and ruffled the boys hair before getting in and typing your company’s address into his cars fancy gps.
It was a beautiful Saturday morning perfect for a day out so after much pacing around his living room Childe summoned all his courage to call you and ask if you and Beau would want to go to lunch with him and Teucer, maybe take the boys to the park for a bit after.
What he wasn’t expecting was a jumble of sad apologies as you explained that you were actually at work although it was your day off– something about a trade with another company going south so you were urgently needed, even bringing Beau along who you’d tried to entertain in your office.
Childe could hear the stress in your voice and decided if you couldn’t get lunch he’d bring it to you. At least then you’d have a moment to relax and Beau could play with Teucer.
He’d asked for your work address simply telling you it would be a surprise and with that he was off. Your workplace was surprisingly nearby, Childe wondered how he’d never noticed before. Then again you kept many things about your life hidden away, almost as if you were too scared to mutter anything from the past.
Childe couldn’t help how clammy his palms got when he’d parked in the spacious underground parking lot and help Teucer out of his booster seat.
The cool air of the compound did nothing to help his flushed cheeks while he texted you of his arrival, waiting patiently in the lobby as you and Beau hopped out of the north side elevator and sped walked to the pair. Beau’s eyes were practically shining in excitement as he threw himself against his ginger friend. The two boys immersed almost instantly in their own little world as Beau rambled about his Mommy’s big fancy work building to an equally entranced Teucer.
“Hey boys!” You chirped with glee as you pulled Childe into a friendly hug, then an extra tight one to little Teucer, careful as to not crush the bag in his arms.
“What’s in the bag sweetie?” You questioned Teucer who was trying his best to give you the bag.
“Big brother and I bought yummy food for you and Beau!”
You looked a bit surprised before a heart melting smile graced your features. “Is this what the surprise was? Thank you so much.”
You leaned down and gave a soft kiss to the top of Teucer’s bouncy curls before moving over to Childe, your lips grazing his right cheek for only a second but it was enough to stop the poor man’s heart.
He struggled to say anything as you suggested you all go up to your office, instead following close behind you and the kids like a gaping fish trying to communicate.
Childe couldn’t help but notice that they’d gotten a lot of curious looks as you led them back to your office. Some people even leaning in and blatantly whispering to each other as they watched.
An uneasy feeling flooded him as he realized the weren’t looking at the new comers but at you.
Now wasn’t the time for jealousy but it was beyond that, even Childe wasn’t that immature. He’d caught the eyes of a dark-haired woman dressed to the nines and covered in expensive jewelry eyeing you up and down with a not so friendly glance before her expression melted into a kind one as you stopped to introduce her to Childe and Teucer.
“Ah who do we have here? A little family get together?” The woman wondered as her eyes feasted on Childe so openly, ignoring little Teucer who stood right beside Beau.
“Oh um, hi Lynn. This is my good friend Childe and this is Teucer.” Childe couldn’t help but take notice of how you’d moved the two little boys to stand behind you, your figure shielding them away from the woman. Beau nervously slipped his hand into Teucer’s as his other clutched your skirt.
“So this is the famous Childe? Oh (Y/n) how selfish you’ve been hiding such a handsome man away.” She stepped closer and held out a perfectly manicured hand for him to shake. “I’m Lynn, thanks for taking care of your little sister.”
Childe took the woman’s hand and smiled almost painfully. He knew what game she was playing and he was more than happy to join in.
“I can say the same thing about everyone here, always keeping my (Y/n) away from me. I couldn’t stand being away so here I am. Isn’t that right honey?” Childe released the woman’s grasp and moved to stand beside you, his arm coming to wrap around your shoulder.
He tried to keep his cool and charming composure as best he could but it was hard when you were pressed up against him, the soft smell of your perfume making him dizzy with need.
You’d tensed up in surprise at the sudden contact before relaxing in his hold, even going as far as to lean into his larger body, both of your molding together perfectly. If Childe thought he was a mess he had no idea the storm that was wrecking chaos upon your poor little heart.
“R-Right.” You nodded quickly. Lynn’s smile turned down into a frown as she eyed you again, turned up her nose, then gracefully walked away with a huff.
You wasted no time in escorting all three back into your office, setting the bag down onto your office without a word.
Childe knew he had messed up by how deep in thought you were. He knew he should have controlled himself now he might just have ruined any chance he had at all.
“(Y/n), I’m sorry I-“ he was stopped as you held a hand up, surprising him with a satisfied grin.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited to see Lynn speechless, and you managed to get her to walk away.” You laughed and gave his shoulder a playful slap. “The food is getting cold, let’s feed the boys and I’ll explain everything okay?”
During lunch you’d told him everything with a hushed voice as if someone were listening. Lynn was your bosses secretary, holding no other title than that but she acted as if she were a chairman.
Since day one she’d had it out for you, always making you uncomfortable and giving backhanded compliments in front of others. You usually stood up for yourself but you’d been too scared to cross the line and end up in hot water. This was the best job you were blessed on receiving and you weren’t about to mess it up just cause some weird coworker hated you for no reason.
“I know this sounds insensitive, but why not look for another job? You’re way overqualified for this place anyways. I can help you, I know some really important people.” Childe claimed as he helped you clean up.
You smiled and shook your head softly. “I really appreciate it, but this is a really good company. My boss is a very kind man– well from the few times I’ve seen him– and the pay is good. I get to keep Beau in a good school and our apartment is beautiful. I don’t want to mess all this up over some playground fights. I don’t want to let her or anyone else drive me away. I’m tired of running.”
Your last statement made Childe perk up. He remembered what Dottore had told him, this was his chance to finally ask about your past and hopefully bring you closer together.
Before he could even open mouth the phone on your desk rang loudly making his eye twitch in annoyance. The Archons were out to make sure he didn’t get a single chance to talk to you properly.
You sprang up from your seat and took the call, muttering a few replies before hanging up and giving your friend an apologetic smile.
“I need to take these files down the hall real quick. You’ll be okay here with the boys?”
Childe waved you off with a kind smile, telling you not to worry about a thing.
In your haste to deliver the work you dropped a paper by the door but you were too fast. Childe couldn’t catch you fast enough as he watched you disappear around the corner.
He turned and kneeled by the kids. “I need to step out of the room for two seconds, can you two be the best big boys and stay put?”
The tots were quick to promise their good behavior and Childe was off to find you. He barely made it past the second door from your own when he was stopped by an aggravated looking Lynn.
“I hope I didn’t upset you earlier, I’m just genuinely surprised (Y/n) would have a friend like you.”
Childe’s fists clenched.
“Why wouldn’t she have a friend like me?”
Lynn scoffed a bit as if such a question was even worth answering.
“Judging by your expression I can guess (Y/n) hasn’t told you about her past?” A smug smirk stretched her lipstick clad lips as Childe looked confused.
“Not a very good friend.” She continued, leaning back against an empty desk beside her, “did she tell you how despite being engaged she still got knocked up by a stranger, cut off from her family, and continues her little games with our CEO?”
Lynn gasped as Childe stepped in menacingly, his eyes showing nothing but rage as his words dripped venom.
“You know nothing about (Y/n). Your crazy jealousy over the fact that she has more humanity in one finger drives you up the wall. I know your type. You try your best to land any big wig in your bed just make your way up in the world and use your little games to get what you want, but I’m not the one you should be messing with. Never speak another word about (Y/n) or her child if you know what’s good for you.”
Lynn tried not to tremble as the tall man spat out his threat, her eyes looking around for an escape before she resulted to her only defense.
Crying out bloody murder worked as suddenly some workers came out of their offices looking at the very incriminating position Childe and Lynn were. The frightened woman pinned back against the desk, mascara tears running down he powdered face, and Childe’s chest heaving slightly as he tried his best not to blow up on the conniving leach.
“Childe? What’s going on?” He turned upon hearing your bewildered voice, seeing you standing next to what he assumed was your boss.
“Oh! Ms. Ningguang! This man tried to attack me! Please call security! He’s crazy!” The odds were staking against him as Lynn ran into the arms of the white-haired woman who looked anything but amused.
“What? Wait no! Childe wouldn’t do something like this!” You were quick to defend your friend, rushing over to grip his arm, pulling him behind you. “Tell them Childe!”
“Childe?” A deep voice came from behind Ningguang, three very familiar faces coming in through the door looking every bit as intimidating.
Childe felt his shoulders drop in relief as his most trusted friend gave him a questioning look. “Zhongli! Ganyu! Xiao!”
Zhongli stepped in closer to fully take in the scene before him. “You know Mr. Zhongli?” You questioned aloud.
“He’s a very close friend in fact.” Zhongli answered for him, giving one of his gloves as his golden eyes moved over to eye Lynn down. “So close that I can vouch that he wouldn’t do something so heinous without a very very good reason.”
“He did try to attack me! Why are you all just standing there? You wouldn’t really take his side would you?!” Lynn cried as she tried to find comfort in Ningguang’s arms only to be blocked as Ganyu stepped between them.
“Now now Ms. Lynn. This isn’t how we conduct our investigations. You claim Childe tried to attack you, but you have a history of causing disputes around the office.” Ningguang said calmly as she paced around the room. “A history that I think shouldn’t be used against you so easily but it’s hard to believe you, especially when you’re standing right under a surveillance camera that could easily clear the air.”
She turned to look at Zhongli, motioning with her hand towards her office. “We can check the cameras in my office with no issue. If what Ms. Lynn said is true then we shouldn’t waste anymore time.”
Lynn shook her head in disbelief, anxiously chewing on her thumb’s nail as everyone watched her, calculating her next move.
Trying to continue her victim mentality, she silently followed the two CEO’s, dabbing her tears away with her sleeve.
“We’ll conduct this quickly. (Y/n), why don’t you head back to your office for now while Childe cools off.” Zhongli said, giving Childe a we’ll talk later glance before following the women down the hall, followed by a worried looking Ganyu and an annoyed Xiao.
Without another word you pull Childe back into your office where the two little boys sat huddled together, tears rimming their large eyes.
“We heard a scary scream.” Was all Beau said as you kneeled down and pulled both boys into your arms, cooing to them that everything was okay and that they were so brave.
Childe reached out and placed a hand on your shoulder. “I’m sorry about all this, if I had controlled my emotions better I wouldn’t have caused so much trouble.”
You glanced back at him and smiled sadly. “We should talk later. Not here, not now. The walls have ears and they listen well.”
Childe acknowledged your warning and waited.
It wasn’t until later that night when Teucer was tucked into bed that you finally called Childe, asking him to meet you at the park in front of your apartment building.
Once he arrived he was greeted by your tired figure wrapped up in a brown blanket seated at a lone bench watching the stars that hung brightly above you.
The man cursed himself for the frown that pulled your lips down. He needed to take better control of himself, why did he have to ruin everything when it was going so well?
“(Y/n)?” You looked up and smiled warmly as you patted the space beside you. Once Childe sat down you didn’t hesitate in opening your blanket and allowing him to scoot in, protecting him from the cool breeze. This was a good sign, he thought.
“I want to apologize–“ you cut him off with a single finger pressed to his lips. “It’s alright, Lynn confessed to everything. I knew from the start you didn’t do anything. I should be thanking you for sticking up for me and Beau like that. Not many people would have done what you did. How did I get so lucky?”
Your voice broke a little at the end forcing you to look away as tears began to burn the rims of your eyes.
“(Y/n) look at me.” Childe turned to face you, his hand going to rest on your knee giving it an encouraging squeeze.
His heart broke when you looked at him, you looked so tired and defeated, he wanted nothing more than to put you at ease.
“I care about you and I want to help you but I feel like you’re hiding such a big part of yourself and it hurts to see you suffering through it alone. I understand that you’re being strong for you and Beau but I can see how it’s affecting you and I want to help you. Please, just let me in.”
There was a moment of silence before you spoke, moving your hand to rest over his own only for him to quickly intertwine your fingers together.
You took a shaky breathe and decided to let it all out. “You’ve probably heard some shocking things about me today right? That I was engaged? That he left me after having my baby, my family shunned me? Well it’s true.” Childe tried not to show the surprise on his face. He wasn’t surprised in a bad way, he was surprised that you’d condemn yourself for it.
“Ever since I was young, I was set to be engaged with another family’s son. Our futures were decided before we could even walk. Him and I got along growing up, we were very close in fact but that was the problem. We were more like siblings and we couldn’t have been more different. We agreed that once we were of age we’d stuck up to our parents and break off the engagement. Well, I ended up moving out as a teen desperate for my independence. That’s when I met the person who would give me Beau.”
Childe unconsciously tightened his grip on your hand and you were quick to gently stroke the back of his palm with your thumb.
“Her name was Lily. She was the daughter of a local farmer and we became best friends. She was also very private, until later I found out she was very sick. She’d been born with Eleazar, but that never stopped her. She did so many amazing things despite her illness. She even fell in love and had the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen.”
The red head held his breathe as the impact of your words began to ran down on him like ice shards.
“But the pregnancy took a massive toll on her already weak body that we knew she wouldn’t make it. She begged me to take the baby, her father was already getting on in age and there was no way he could raise an infant on his own. So I took that beautiful little boy and I’d do anything in my power to make sure he has the best life he can. My fiancé found out and we used my sons birth as an excuse to break it off. My parents swore never to speak to me again so I picked up everything and moved around until we got here.”
You paused a released a shaky voice, your hands beginning to tremble as guilt began to rot in your heart.
“How could I use Beau for my own selfish reasons? What kind of mother am I? Every day he acts more and more like Lily that I just feel so terrible for making him a pawn in my selfish game.”
Your shoulder shook as you’d finally let out all your grief that had held you down. Childe wrapped his arms around you tightly, pushing your face into his neck as he gently rubbed your back and allowed you to sob into him.
He’d gently shushed you, whispering sweetly into your ear. “Don’t say that. Not everyone is an expert at being a mother right away. You’ve been through so much in silence but you shouldn’t suffer alone. You deserve to live the life that you want, not the life that other people expect you to live. Beau is a blessing for you, some higher power out there knew that only you could care for him, and he knows it too. Whatever shame and guilt you feel I hope will leave your mind because you’re amazing.”
It felt like hours until your sobs turned to soft sniffles as you snuggled in close to Childe. His steady heartbeat thumping gently against your ear as your arms wrapped around him for dear life.
You finally pulled away and gave an embarrassed laugh. “I probably look like a mess, I’m sorry you had to see all that.”
Your hands moved up to wipe away at your red eyes. “(Y/n)…” you stopped upon feeling Childe’s warm hands cup your tear stained cheeks, tilting your head up so you could look into those cerulean eyes.
He wanted to say a million words and nothing all at the same time. Your heart thumped loudly against your chest you were worried you’d faint right then and there as his gaze flicked down to your lips then back up as if silently asking permission.
You allowed your eyes to slip closed, praying to every Archon above that you hadn’t made a fool of yourself. All worries vanished in an instant as soon as you felt a set of plush lips cover your own.
Sure you kissed a few boys here and there growing up but it never felt like this. Childe held onto you as if you were made of glass, treasuring you so deeply that the very thought sent a shiver down your spine.
After a moment you both pulled away, your foreheads leaning against each other as you kept your eyes shut trying to process what had just happened.
“(Y/n).” The man called again, his voice as smooth as velvet.
You looked at him and almost felt another wave of tears brim your eyes at the sheer amount of love his eyes held alone.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that.” He grinned happily, peppering your cheeks with soft kisses. You couldn’t help but giggle and turn your head to catch his lips once more.
“How long?” You questioned, a bit in shock that someone as perfect as Childe could love someone like you. You weren’t a bad person, you just usually weren’t someone’s first pick.
“Since the day I first laid eyes on you.” He confessed, chuckling at how your cheeks darkened almost instantly. “So have I.” You mumbled shyly, looking down and playing with the blanket still wrapped around you both.
“So does this mean I can call you mine and mine alone?” He leaned his head down and pressed a soft kiss against your neck, sending a shiver down your spine.
You wrapped your arms around his waist and gave a soft hum. “Only if I can do the same.”
Childe pulled away and gave you his signature boy-ish smile making your heart melt. You moved in to kiss you again but you were quick and cupped your hand over his puckered lips. “I asked my neighbor’s sister to watch Beau while we talked, she has school tomorrow I don’t want to keep her up.”
Childe pouted but nodded and slipped his hand into yours as he walked you back up to your apartment. The cozy atmosphere immediately set him at ease upon seeing the toys that were littered here and there and the endless amounts of framed pictures of Beau, showcasing his growth in great detail.
His heart swelled knowing how much you loved Beau, he was positive you were meant to be his mother. You let Childe follow you to Beau’s bedroom where the little boy lay tucked in and peacefully sleeping. Next to him sat a blonde teen, her fingers gently ran through Beau’s hair as she hummed a gentle lullaby.
“I’m back! Thank you so much for watching him last minute. I hope he wasn’t too much trouble?” You whispered as you stepped in, picking up a few stray toys off the floor and placing them into a bin.
The girl, Barbara, stood up gracefully and shook her head. “Not at all. Beau is a little angel as always.” She noticed Childe standing by the doorway and gave him a friendly nod.
“Oh hello.” She said politely as she followed you out into the living room. “You must be Childe, (Y/n) talks about you a lot.”
Childe smirked in your direction as you gave Barbara a pleading look. “Yep that’s me, the boyfriend.” He said with a cocky tone making you roll your eyes and bump your hip into his.
Barbara have you a knowing look before moving to slip on her shoes by the doorway. “Well then I won’t get in your way any longer. Have a good night!” She giggled and slipped out the door leaving you looking like a tomato.
“Do you maybe want to sleep over?”

You barely had any time to recover before you were being swept up in a pair of strong arms and plopped down onto a firm lap, your legs being spread open by thick thighs and gloved hands digging into your flesh.
The room was spinning so you nuzzled into the crook of the neck before you, taking in the scent of crisp ocean water you’d come to adore.
Childe chuckled at how your cute actions rivaled your lewd display in front of his trusted friend.
“Don’t give up now baby, you still need to take care of Mr. Zhongli don’t you?” He cooed into your ear, his soft voice making your cunt clench desperately as his warm release was slowly seeping down your thigh making Zhongli’s jaw clench at the sight.
Childe moved his gloved hand from your thigh to your aching entrance, dipping two fingers in to spread you apart in a vulgar display.
The red-head smirked against the crown of your head as Zhongli’s eyes glowed golden as he watched your body twitch and squirm beneath him.
“Go on,” Childe said mischievously as he kissed the top of your head lovingly, “you don’t want to keep our princess waiting do you? Look at how ready she is, isn’t that right angel?”
You desperately nodded and clutched at Childe’s jacket, your hips rolling back to meet this fingers’ pace.
“Use your words.” He ordered, his tone firm.
With weak arms you placed your open palms against his chest and lifted yourself up, turning your neck enough to see the other large man towering over you, his golden eyes moved their fixed stare to your own teary ones.
“Please Mister.” You whined, arching your back to present yourself so beautifully, “I’ll be good for you, I promise.”
Any resolve Zhongli held onto was now out the window as he cursed under his breath and began to shed his restrictive clothing off much to the delight of your needy eyes.
The little show didn’t last long however as Childe lifted his other gloved hand to grip your chin and turn your face back his way bringing his lips to yours hungrily, his larger tongue played against yours as he explored you carefully, groaning softly as he never grew tired of your sweet taste.
A large warm hand broke you from your trance, Zhongli’s slim fingers gingerly cupped your bottom giving it an appreciative squeeze before pushing down against the middle of your back so you could arch for him.
You looked back only to gasp at the sight of his arms. His exposed torso was littered in scars of all kinds much like Childe’s, but what really caught your eye was the pitch black skin with gold designs running up his muscular arms.
Tattoos? No– where they glowing?
“Surely you’ve caught on by now haven’t you angel?” Childe chuckled as he brought up his gloved hand to his lips and bit the leather material, slowly shedding them off.
The gears in your head tried to turn as fast as they could but all thoughts dried up when the raven haired man began to pull his pants down, his thick cock slapping his defined tummy as he kicked the rest of his clothes away and made his way back to you.
If you thought Childe was huge you were positive Mr. Zhongli would absolutely tear you apart.
“I-I can’t!” You said in a moment of panic, trying to squirm your way out of a Childe’s hold only for said man to wrap his arms around your torso in an iron clad grip. He’d moved your face back into the crook of his neck as he began to stroke your hair tenderly.
“None of that now princess. You promised you’d be a good girl right? Unless you want me to bring in some Agents and let them watch as I punish this cute little hole. Maybe let them have a taste?”
You immediately shook your head in apology, the disappointment laced in Childe’s voice was enough to make your heart sink. You wanted to make him proud of you, even if you were a bit scared but you had to be his good girl.
“I’ll be gentle.” Zhongli leaned down to coo into your ear as you felt the thick head of his cock nudge between your lips, collecting the mix of your and Childe’s release before bullying himself into your sopping heat.
There was slight resistance as he stretched you out just a bit more but you muffled any noises of discomfort as your teeth sank into the juncture of Childe’s neck, making the red head groan at the delicious sting.
Zhongli gripped your trembling thighs, trying to stay grounded as he felt himself slowly lose himself in your heat, and he hasn’t even moved yet.
“Fuck–“ the ex-Archon cursed under his breathe making you shiver, never having heard anything remotely improper from the man before.
Zhongli held still for a moment for you to catch your breathe before he slowly pulled out, the pull of your walls desperate to keep him in enough to throw all rational out the window and slam his hips back into your ass, pushing you up higher Childe’s chest as your fingers held onto his jacket for dear life.
The room filled with sounds of skin on skin, your muffled cries, and a few deep grunts that slipped from Zhongli’s lips that only made more slick drool from your cunt down Zhongli’s hard shaft.
In any other situation you’d be mortified to be seen in such a state by anyone other than Childe but the way the other man’s fingers ran down your body to rub hard circles against your bundle of nerves had you panting out incoherently.
“Don’t hide those pretty sounds from us baby, let Mr. Zhongli know how good he’s making you feel.” Childe chuckled as he took a handful of your hair and tugged your head back, revealing your fucked out expression.
“Look at you, absolutely fucking beautiful.” Childe praised before a second hand tilted your chin up and a pair of soft lips muffled your moans.
You felt your eyes roll back in ecstasy as Childe took advantage of your position to lean down and take your left nipple into his mouth, rolling the hardened nub between his teeth before giving it a hard suck.
“She was made for this wasn’t she? Her greedy hole keeps sucking me in, you gonna milk me dry honey?” Zhongli said almost mockingly into your ear. The deep rumble of his voice forced your toes to curl as you babbled a broken sentence that made the men chuckle.
Childe released your nub with a wet pop before sliding his hands down past Zhongli’s until he was able to trace where you and the ex-Archon were connected.
Your head snapped down, eyes wild and pupils blown out with lust as Childe’s middle finger prodded at your already stuffed hole. “Such a cock-hungry little thing deserves to be spoiled doesn’t she? Think you can continue being my good girl?”
Your heart beating picked up, the muscle beating loudly in your ears as you processed what he had meant. They really were going to tear you into two pieces.
You nodded before your rational and fear could catch up to you making Childe beam with delight. He reached down and slipped his already hardened length from his pants to position towards your hole.
Zhongli slowed his pace until he came to a full stop, looking down and spreading your cheeks before spitting right where you connected forcing a terrible feeling of shame and lust combined.
“She can take it. She’s begging for it.”
Childe would have prepped you better, he honestly would, but the need to feel your wet heat around him was greater than anything else so he didn’t think twice when he bullied his thick length into you, shushing your pained wail with a gentle kiss.
Your body trembled as pain shot up your spine and clouded your eyes with white stars. It felt like minutes, hours, centuries until you were able to focus on Childe’s ocean blue eyes through your own teary ones.
“Shh, it’s okay pretty girl. You can take it, I know you can.” Childe peppered kisses along your cheeks and jaw while Zhongli gently stroked your back until you felt the familiar feeling of the knot in your stomach pull at the stretch.
You muttered something softly, making the men turn their attention down to you. “What was that princess? We can’t hear you.”
You hesitated for a moment before speaking up. “Please move, I can’t take it anymore.”
Something feral exploded within the two men at your words as they suddenly moved into action, their large hands holding whatever part of you they could before pounding into you.
Your body and mind failed to work any further as you lay limp between the two bodies and let them use you for their own greedy pleasure.
“Just one more, come on, give us just one more.” Childe groaned as he played with your clit, forcing the coil in your tummy to tighten, tighten, tighten, until suddenly the pressure was too much and your release washed over you like a cold wave.
You didn’t even know if you cried out or not as a deafening white noise clouded your mind.
Childe was the first to release followed quickly by Zhongli who leaned down and bite into your shoulder much to the annoyance of Childe who was too blissed out to be too upset about it.
Your body looked more like a rag doll than a person as the men gently pulled out of you and laid you next to Childe with your back against the hard couch.
The red head lifted your legs apart and groaned at the sight of globs of cum being pushed out of your cunt as it clenched pitifully around nothing.
“Did I do good?” You managed to mumble through your dry throat. You looked over at Zhongli who was busy getting re-dressed as if nothing had happened before turning to you with a soft smile.
His tall figure leaned down and gave you a sweet kiss to your forehead, one re-gloved hand brushing your sweaty bangs from your eyes. “You were perfect.”
Childe was quickly to push in between you two and place his jacket over your nude form. “Rest now princess, you deserve it.”

Not to alarm you or anything but I was on Wattpad and read another author with almost the same exact plot as your Mafia Childe but their fic was posted only 1 week ago…
Unless their fic was an exact copy of mine word for word, I don’t see it as a problem. Mafia AU’s aren’t original in any sense and I in no way own the characters or AU’s so it’s a free for all. I personally love seeing similar ideas and how other writers use them in their own way. Thank you for your concern, I really appreciate it!

-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- -ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- -ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ-
It was a beautiful sunny day in Mondstat, the streets were full with the energetic beckoning of vendors drawing you in with their various goods, a few bards tinkering with their instruments of choice, and the rowdy laughter of some men well into their third cup of wine despite the early afternoon hours.
Among these bustling sounds and music rang the never ending greeting of “Good Afternoon Master Jean and Miss Lisa!” The two women dipped their heads humbly and returned kind greetings, graceful smiles pulling their lips upward.
It wasn’t uncommon to see the two on an afternoon patrol together, especially with the unnerving presence of The Fatui Delegation occupying The Goth Grand Hotel.
The whole city seemed to be on their guard against the visitors, but none more than Acting Grand Master Jean whose own feet seemed to guide her in the direction of the hotel with a smirking Lisa close to her side as she whispered into her friend’s ear, “So when are you going to invite your cute little petal on a stroll?”
Jean’s cheeks darkened almost at a laughably quick rate at Lisa’s mischievous giggle.
“I’m simply patrolling the area, you know that my duties as Acting Grand Mas-“
“Yes yes your duties and honor and such but come on Jean, you’ve been idling about the Hotel like a hopeless little puppy waiting for your little petal to throw you a bone. Sooner or later they’re going to question why Master Jean is paying them and only them special attention.”
Jean shot Lisa a side glare, knowing that the sneaky librarian spoke the truth but would rather keep her pretty mouth shut than admit she was right.
“Like I said, this just a routine patrol, nothing else.”
Almost on cue, the pair caught a glimpse of your fluffy (h/c) hair thrown together loosely in a ponytail, a few curls framing your delicate features.
Jean allowed her eyes to trail down the expanse of your body, shirt rolled up at the sleeves to expose your toned arms as you tossed dirty water from a bucket into the gutter behind the hotel, no doubt you were just finishing up your daily chores.
The thought alone made Jean’s heart clench in admiration, despite being the renowned grandchild of Ludwig Goth with endless mora and connections to your name you stayed so humble and kind, working tirelessly to upkeep the hotel and care for your Grandfather.
Jean worked hard everyday to be in the same reigns as not her Idol Vanessa, but you as well. Your kindness was known throughout the City of Freedom and even beyond with a few important figures in the neighboring city of Liyue singing your praises.
“Oh! Good Afternoon Master Jean and Miss Lisa!” Your velvety sweet voice greeting the pair as they stood before you.
Jean swore she stopped breathing seeing how your brilliant smile pushed your shining eyes into cute crescents, a little dimple sinking into your left cheek that Jean often daydreamed about kissing forever.
“Good Afternoon little petal~” Lisa greeted with her usual teasing glint.
“Our for an afternoon patrol?” You questioned with a small tilt of your head, eyes focused on Jean who still hasn’t responded, staring at your with a dazed look that had you shyly pushing a curl behind your ear. You knew you should have cleaned up a bit more, how embarrassing for Master Jean to see you so disheveled you mentally cursed yourself.
Lisa looked between you two a soft sigh leaving her as she nudged Jean with her elbow, breaking the blonde from her thoughts as she coughed into her hand shyly, shoulders straightening up.
“Oh um yes hello Goth, we have gotten reports of uh monsters lurking near the gates so I personally came to inspect the areas. Is everything okay here? No obvious signs of danger?”
Lisa pressed a slim finger to her chin, “Monsters? My my I didn’t know about this until now?”
Now it was Jean’s turn to elbow the librarian, giving her another warning side glance.
“That sounds awful!” You gasped, a hand coming up to cup over your mouth before you looked away, suddenly deep in thought.
“Is everything alright?” Jean question with concern.
You looked back at the blonde and sighed as you set the bucket down beside you. “I actually had to go to Dawn Winery tomorrow and pick up a few barrels of wine. Those Fatui sure do love to drink.”
“Why put in a commission for someone to transfer to goods directly to the hotel for you? Maybe a few Knights might be able to help as well.” Lisa question making you shake your head with a chuckle.
“Oh I couldn’t take The Knights away from their work, plus the Winery isn’t far from the city I should be able to make it back before supper.” You tapped your chin in thought as you calculated the hours in your head.
“There’s always the issue of the monsters.” You mumbled.
“Master Jean will be happy to escort you!” Lisa smiled wickedly, grabbing her friend’s shoulders and shoving her in your direction.
The blonde managed to catch her footing before she completely crashed into you and made a fool of herself.
“Huh? When did I-“ before Jean could finish her protest you caught both of her hands in yours, your eyes practically sparkling.
“Really? I don’t want to trouble you if you’re too busy Master Jean!” Jean had to look away, heat quickly spreading across her cheeks as your warm hands fit so perfectly in hers and you looked at her as if she hung the very moon in the sky.
“I-I supposed I could help, there’s not much to do tomorrow…”
You and Lisa cheered before you pulled the woman into a quick hug before picking up your bucket and making your way back inside the Hotel just as you heard one of the guests calling for you.
“Then I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow Master Jean! Thank you so much! I have to go back to work now, have a great rest of your day!” You gave a final wave before disappearing into the building leaving a very flushed Jean and snickering Lisa outside.
Jean made her way to the main gates of the city, her head aching and eyelids feeling heavy from her lack of sleep.
She couldn’t help but toss and turn all night, the nervousness and excitement of being able to spend the whole day with just you was enough to have her heart and head racing a million miles a minute.
‘Keep it together Jean, don’t embarrass yourself!’ She internally scolded herself, pointing a finger towards her nose in a curious display.
“Am I interrupting something?” Came your amused chuckle ahead.
Jean’s arms quickly snapped by her side as she collected herself and greeted you a Good Morning.
You stood leaning against the bridges side, your arms crossed over your chest. You had changed out of your usual formal wear into a more casual outfit consisting of an oversized white puffed sleeved shirt and black slacks that clung to all the right places.
Jean had to fight back a gulp as she noticed you’d worn your hair up again in its messy but very enticing style that made her mind short circuit.
She wasn’t sure if she would be able to make it past five minutes with you looking so stunning.
“Good Morning Master Jean.” You smiled politely, the title never sounding so alluring to her before.
“I hope you got enough sleep, I know I could use a few more winks.” You yawned as you led her past the bridge to where two large white horses stood with a large cart strapped to them.
“I sleep well enough.” She said, only half the truth, “Are you sure you wouldn’t want to go back and rest, I’m more than happy to personally escort your goods to the hotel for you.”
You stopped and looked back at her, another one of your dashing smiles on display. “You’re awfully sweet Master Jean but I can’t possibly ask you to do that. It’s already weighing heavy on me that I’m taking you away from your work to accompany me.”
Jean was quick to shake her head, once again insisting that she was here on her own accord (kinda).
The walk to Dawn Winery was for the most part quiet save for the occasional story you told while animatedly waved your arms about and Jean listened, partially too shy to speak and being so mesmerized by your voice to form any words.
“Ah here we are! That was pretty fast.” You smiled to Jean as you both lead the horses to the water stations where Tunner stood inspecting a bucket of newly picked grapes.
“Good Afternoon Tunner!” You called happily catching his attention, “You’re looking very healthy today, I hope the medicine is doing you good.”
“Good Afternoon to you as well! Greetings Master Jean!” The old man welcomed you both cheerfully as he turned away from his work. “I am feeling much better thanks to you my child, I don’t know how to repay you for the medicine trip you took for me. Once these old bones work again I’ll be able to send for it myself.”
Jean looked a bit puzzled at Tunner’s words. You’d been helping take care of Diluc’s staff as well? Her heart couldn’t take how much more wholesome you were.
“Nonsense, the only payment I could ever receive from you Mr. Tunner is to see you as healthy as a horse.” You chuckled, taking Tunner’s slim hand in your own and giving it a friendly squeeze.
“I’m here for my order of wine barrels, is Ernest available?” Tunner nodded and pointed in the direction of the back cellar.
“He just went into the ground cellar for something, you’ll catch him there if you go now.”
You thanked Tunner before turning to Jean. “I’ll go meet Ernest with the barrels, you can watch the horses in the meantime? I won’t be long!”
Jean agreed and watched as you hurried along up the steps of the winery.
Tunner looked between your fleeting figure and Jean’s dreamy gaze with an amused smile.
“Quite a catch that (Y/n) aren’t they Master Jean?” Tunner smiled innocently as he turned back to his work as if he didn’t send blood rising to Jean’s cheeks and ears.
“Oh um, yes uh they are very intriguing indeed.” She coughed into her fist before leading the horses to the hay stacks so they could munch away.
Tunner shook his head and chuckled. “I’d say it’s good a time as ever to tell them how you feel before it’s too late.”
Jean looked back with wide eyes, an awkward laugh leaving her. “I have no idea what you’re talking about Mr. Tunner, Goth and I are friendly acquaintances, nothing more, nothing less.”
Tunner gave the blushing blonde a quirked brow.
“If I may be frank Master Jean, these may be the eyes of a sickly old man but I know the gaze of adoration when I see one. I had the same look when I first saw Guy’s mother. Believe me when I tell you, you’ll only feel this once in a lifetime, don’t let your fear keep you away from the greatest feeling you could be blessed with.”
Jean’s eyes focused back to where you appeared beside Ernest, you two of you laughing loudly at some silly story you’d said, the gentle ring of your laughter being the only sound Jean wants to hear until the end of time.
“But what if they do not feel the same?” Jean half whispered, her shoulders falling a bit as she continued to observe her. “We come from two completely different worlds. What if see me as nothing more than Grand Acting Master Jean?”
Tunner looked ahead as well, his eyes softening at the girls words.
“Nothing in this life is guaranteed, but I can tell you for a fact there are things your eyes have not yet noticed.”
Before Jean could question what the old man had meant you jogged over to the pair, a bit out of breathe as you had just finished Ernest load the barrels into the cart.
“Okay, everything is checked out, we’re free to go! If we leave now we should be back to the city by sunset.” You placed your open palm above your eyes as you squinted at the sun.
“If that is all then we should head off.” Jean said curtly, bidding Tunner a farewell before going to hook the cart back onto the horses once more.
You blinked in Jean’s direction before looking at Tunner questionably.
Tunner simply laughed and waved his hand out. “Just deep in thought, that one. Do visit soon (Y/n), when Guy comes you should join him.”
“I will Tunner, please take care of yourself! Say hello the everyone else for me!” You waved happily before joining a quiet Jean back on the road.
Jean was uncharacteristically silent as you slowly made your way back to the city, her eyes trained onto the ground and her perfectly sculpted brows furrowed as she thought tirelessly about something, an occasional mutter leaving her lips.
You wondered if her conversation with Tunner had anything to do with this. Unless she had overheard your conversation with Ernest earlier?
You began to panic a bit, praying to every archon that she didn’t overhear you gushing about your unrequited love for the Acting Grand Master that only the Dawn Winery employees knew of.
Ernest had teased you mercilessly when he noticed you’d been joined by Jean, going as far as offering you a swig of some liquid courage so you’d finally confess to the Knight.
The idea was so ridiculous you’d both burst into a fit of laughter, quickly shutting up when you noticed Jean and Tunner looking at you through your peripherals.
What if she found out about you affection for her and was disgusted? What if she thought you weren’t worthy, that you were nothing but a helpless child that couldn’t even do a simple cargo task by yourself?
You’d been so deep in your self wallowing that you’d failed to noticed the thick root sticking up from the dirt place below you, the toe of your boots catching onto it sending you tumbling right onto your face.
Jean gasped and immediately stopped the horses, rushing to your aid and helping you sit up.
“Archons (Y/n) are you alright?” Jean worried, her gloved hands holding your face gently as she inspected you for any visible injuries.
With your luck you’d landed right on your nose, a steady stream of blood running over your lips and chin down to your white shirt staining it with a handful of crimson droplets.
“I’m alright! It’s just a little accident no need to fret!” You tried to laugh off the embarrassment only to wince as the pain from your nose blossomed, bringing a few stray tears to your eyes.
“It’s not nothing, stay still so I can stop the bleeding.” Jean sighed, reaching into her pocket and producing a delicate handkerchief Barbara had gifted her a few years back.
You squirmed and tried to pull away, telling her it was really just fine only to have the blonde grip your chin and call your name in that firm voice she used when she scolded the Knights.
You immediately quit your struggle, letting Jean gently blot the blood from your lips, her eyes trailing their soft appearance before snapping out of it and continuing her work.
You weren’t sure if your eyes were playing tricks on you or if it was the impact of the fall making you delusional but you were almost positive Jean had been checking you out.
Deciding it was now or never you let your hand trail up until you cupped it over her own, your fingers gently intertwined with hers as you searched her eyes for any sign of discomfort.
Jean looked down at your hands, a bit flustered by the look in your eyes as she dropped the handkerchief onto her lap.
Tunner’s words replayed over and over in her head as she looked back you, her heart running a mile a minute at how close you both were slowly leaning into each other.
She may be dense at times but it didn’t take a genius to feel the tension between you, so many unspoken words flowing between your lips as you inched closer and closer.
Tunner was right, it was now or never.
You seemed to have the same thoughts as the blonde when you both surged foreword only to smack both your foreheads and noses together, sending you flying back cursing loudly as your hands cupped over your nose.
“(Y/n)! Oh my Archons I’m so sorry!!” Jean rushed over to your rolling form, knees drawn up as you tried to override the pain.
“Fuck! Shit!” You hissed, finally stopping your flailing before collapsing onto your back, Jean coming to straddle you without a second thought.
“(Y/n) I’m so so sorry, I didn’t meant it!” She sounded close to tears as she went to hold the soiled handkerchief to your nose again.
“It’s fine- fuck, it’s okay Jean I’m okay-“ you breathed, your heart breaking as her ocean eyes began to fill with tears at the thought of hurting you further.
“No really I’m okay, it was my fault for being too eager. You did nothing wrong, I’m alive aren’t I?” You tried to laugh through the throbbing pain, trying so hard not to think too hard at the feeling of her plush thighs caging you to the ground.
“No it was my fault, I thought that we were going to- nevermind, does it still hurt?”
You perked up at her words, the pain suddenly the last thing on your mind as you shot up, your hands quickly holding onto the blonde’s waist to keep her from falling back.
Jean yelped as you arose at the speed of light, her hands quickly grabbing onto your shoulders.
Another wave of heat attacked her cheeks as she took in the fact that she was perched so nicely in your lap.
“So I wasn’t wrong?” You smiled wildly, your hands gripping her waist tighter as you leaned in with excitement. “You feel the same way about me?”
Jean looked down at you in shock, her mind trying to process your words as your eyes practically sparkled with every star in anticipation.
“U-Um? I think s-so?” Jean tried to speak out. “As friends you mean? Or maybe s-something else-“
The word vomit couldn’t stop, Jean continued to ramble in panic as your gaze softened.
One arm tightened around the Knight’s waist while the other cupped her cheek and pulled her down till your lips gently slotting with her soft ones, effectively silencing her rambling.
Jean practically turned into putty as she leaned into the sweet kiss, her taunt muscles relaxing into your hold as you held her so lovingly she thought she’d float away.
You both eventually pulled away, both mirroring soft smiles as you reveled in the comfortable silence.
“I hope that answers any questions you had?” You teased playfully as Jean laughed picking a twig out of your hair.
“Hm, I don’t know. I think you could have been a little more clear?”
“How about we head back to the city so I can be a little more direct?” You wiggled your eyebrows at the flushed girl as she giggled and wiggled to free herself from your grasp.
“We need to get you back so the sisters can treat your wounds, don’t give me that look.” She held her hand out to help you up as you sat like a pouting child denied candy.
“But it was just getting fun, come on Master Jean.”
“Don’t make me repeat myself (Y/n) Goth, you need to get checked up.” Jean firmly stated, using her Master voice.
You quickly got up at attention flinging your arms around her neck with a pout.
“Don’t use that voice with me, I won’t be able to keep still.”
Jean snorted and shook her head at your words not knowing if she could handle any more of your flirting.
“Come on before it gets too dark. Big scary monsters are lurking around remember?”
You gave up and went to guide the horses back to the gates, unsatisfied.
“Promise we can cuddle after this?”
“Knights honor.”

If they handed out money for each time you were oblivious to something, you’d never have to work a day in your life again.
Jungkook didn’t know if you were playing hard to get or that cute little head of yours really was filled with glitter.
He’d done all the textbook steps to try and impress you.
He’d drive you home, walk you to class, hug you extra tight when greeting you, compliment you whenever the chance was given (which was always cause you were gorgeous) even gave you a few of his hoodies so you’d only smell like him.
He was the perfect gentlemen, always knowing not to push your boundaries and make you uncomfortable but it was getting harder each time he’d shoot you a flirty smile only to get your innocent friendly one in return.
His patience was starting to wear thin. You hadn’t noticed it before but you were starting to catch the eye of other Alphas on campus.
Maybe it was the new exposure you’d gotten after he decided to join you at the hip. Not even Jungkook himself could deny that he was popular.
It had its perks sometimes, people were always willing to help him out and be his friend but they never felt genuine.
All his life he’d been chased after, complimented, been put on pedestal and fawned over. He could always see the lust in people eyes when they so much as greeted him, sub-genders of all sorts pushing out their pheromones making him feel disgusted with himself.
He knew it wasn’t his fault. He knew his family were no joke especially as he came from a long line of world famous painters. But he craved that unbiased genuine friendship and love since he was a child.
Jungkook was blessed the day he met Yugeom. He’d never made Jungkook’s status a factor in their friendship, he just honestly liked the Elite Alpha for who he was.
Yugeom was always there for him, helping him through thick and thin. Except for now.
It was a Friday night and the two were busy moving furniture into their new apartment near campus.
After he’d decided to court you, Jungkook became jealous easily. He never wanted to bring you to the Alpha dorms around all those other students eyeing you a little too much and he was weary of being in your little apartment knowing how unmated omegas needed their privacy as to not make them nervous with all sorts of scents in their homes.
So he did the most logical thing. He bought a very impressive apartment with the hopes that you’d hang out with him here often. He’d ignored Yugeom’s eye roll and scoff of ‘rich kids’ when Jungkook happily signed the estate papers.
“Don’t you think–“ Yugeom groaned as he waddled backwards trying to help his friend move in a fancy new couch with extra soft cushions that you would love into their spacious living room, “that maybe you’re going a little hard right now?”
Jungkook huffed a laugh and shook his head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about dude.”
Yugeom stopped walking, making the couch bump into Jungkook’s stomach with a grunt.
“Look, I know I can be too much sometimes but you bought a whole ass apartment just so you could talk to a girl that may I remind you, you haven’t even asked out yet.“
“You seem to have forgotten that you’ll be living here too Yug.”
“Besides the point, what’s next? You gonna buy out a hallway at school just so you and (y/n) can walk alone together?”
Jungkook snorted at Yugeom’s ridiculous accusations.
“Of course not!…
Can I really do that?”
“Oh my god–“
Yugeom set the couch down and threw his hands up in defeat before walking off, saying something about getting them something to drink.
Jungkook laughed and placed his hands on his hips, looking at his new home. He wasn’t down that bad, he thought he was just being a good friend and trying to make you comfortable with a new setting.
He could already imagine you sitting so cutely on the fluffy couch wrapped up in an equally soft blanket as you watched scary movies with him and huddled close.
He didn’t even realize how deep into his little domestic fantasy he was when a ring of his phone made him jump.
He steadied his beating heart and scrolled through his notifications seeing a text from Jackson Wang, one of the schools most popular elite alpha seniors and Yugeom’s soon-to-be pack mate.
He was throwing another of his many frat parties and was expecting Jungkook to tag along, even mentioning that he had personally invited you as well.
The boy’s blood ran cold, if there was anyone Jungkook didn’t want around you it was Jackson.
He wasn’t a bad guy, he was the complete opposite actually. He was kind, funny, smart, but that’s where the problem was.
Jackson could easily swoop you off your feet with how charismatic and practically perfect he was, and Jungkook was taking no chances.
He quickly dialed his friend, clenching his fist in irritation as he took his time answering.
“Hey JK! what’s up?”
Jungkook tried pursed his lips for a moment trying not to convey his irritation through his tone.
“You know (Y/n)?” He curtly asked.
If only he could see the wide smug smile Jackson had on the other side as he made himself comfy on his bed for the teasing he would undoubtedly torture his younger friend with.
“Yeah, seems like she knows me too.”
Jungkook’s jaw tightened and he took a breath. He’s your friend, he’s your friend.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea for (Y/n) to go.”
“Why the sudden opposition my dear boy?”
“Jackson.”
“Ah okay okay, but think about it. Maybe this is the opportunity you need to get things going.”
Jungkook blinked. How the hell did he know?
“How– did Yugeom tell you?”
“Nope, but you just did.”
And this is why he couldn’t stand talking to the older man more than he needed to.
“Whatever, I have to go.”
“Consider it! JK and (Y/n) sittin’ in a tree, K-I-S–“
Jungkook hung up quickly, worried Jackson would be able to somehow hear his heart beat thumping loudly in his ears.
He didn’t have to sit in shame much longer before another text came through, this time from Mark asking him to come to the campus library and escort you home since it was getting dark.
The boy wasted no time in rushing to grab his discarded jacket and keys, shooting Yugeom an apology text telling him he’d be home later.

Gaeun let out a shaky breath as she stared at her reflection in the school’s public bathroom.
Mascara stained tears ran down her cheeks, a few drops falling atop her white blouse ruining her otherwise pristine appearance.
She’d just gotten back from speaking with her Marketing Professor who told her she was lacking in her work, but she swore she was doing her best. She always went above and beyond in all of her assignments so it was a shock when the older man said she needed to do something to keep her grades up.
She would have hung her head and agreed if that’s where it ended. Never in a million years would she expect to be pressed against his wide desk with a hand placed too high upon her thigh, his cloudy eyes gleaming with something sinister that she’d never seen before.
Her body reacted faster than her fumbled thoughts as her hand connected with his cheek in a loud slap that echoed in the empty class room followed by her heels fleeing.
Now she stood trembling scared, alone, and confused in this dingy bathroom looking a mess.
What was she supposed to do? Who was she supposed to call?
With trembling hands she fished her cellphone from her purse and dialed Jangmi, her foot tapping anxiously as she waited for her best friend to pick up.
“Haha! Hey stop it! I’m on the phone stop!”
There was a chorus of laughter from Jangmi and a few other people on the other line indicating that she was in fact not alone.
“Jangmi! Where are you? Can we meet up?” Gaeun tried her very best to keep her trembling voice steady but it was easier said than done when her emotions were battling themselves in her head.
Jangmi paused for a moment, some movement heard on the line before she giggled again.
“Hm? Right now? I can’t! Remember that guy from the gym I was eyeing? Well I invited him to the mixer and he’s actually here! He’s such a dream Gaeun, I’ll call you later okay?”
“Wait Jangmi! I need you please!”
Click
She actually hung up.
Gaeun stared wide eyed at her black phone screen, her stomach threatening to push up the remains of her lunch as the realization that she was truly alone crashed down on her.
With a loud curse she threw her phone across the room, her thin frame sliding down against the wall till she crumbled against the floor, tears starting to fall one by one.
She was always there for her friends, always a call away no matter what. Even if she knew their friendships were artificial, even if they had price tags on them, she refused to let the truth of her situation drive a knife through her heart.
She desperately craved something real, she was tired of being let down so she fought back against the world that struck her back just as hard.
The sound of the door creaking open snapped her out of her anguish, her shoulders tensing up as she saw your curious head peak out, staring confused at the shattered phone by your feet.
She thought she would be alone but luck was always against her, of all the people to see her in this way it just had to be you.
“Gaeun?” You called softly, concern thick in your usually timid tone as you took in her appearance.
“Go away!” She shouted, take her purse and throwing it at you, the bag hitting the wall beside you spilling its contents everywhere.
You were quick to dodge the attack, ducking by the door.
“Gaeun wait!” You called, holding your hands out in surrender.
“I said leave! Are you stupid?! GO. AWAY!” She hiccuped through her sobs, her anger blinding her and she reached for the closest things around her and began to throw them in your direction till she collapsed against the floor, her shoulders shaking with the forces of her cries as her emotions finally won.
You stood shocked, a hand pressed up against your nose to block the aggressive pheromones the alpha was pushing out to drive you away.
You gave her a moment to calm down a bit, heart feeling heavy as her sweet raspberry scent turned sour and rotten.
Her usually confident and cocky demeanor was but a ghost now compared to her broken vulnerable self who sat so defeated against the cold floor.
You carefully moved to pick up her purse, quietly picking her things up and placing them back inside, allowing her to let out her sobs before turning to the door and locking it not wanting to risk someone else seeing Gaeun in this state.
Bully or not it was plain as day that something was wrong and anyone deserved that respect.
You cautiously moved to sit beside the girl not too close as to scare her off and have her possibly hurt you, she was still an elite alpha at the end of the day which meant her strength out matched yours.
The pheromones she was releasing were meant to feel threatening, causing your omega to whine in distress trying to force your body to escape the room but you stubbornly stay put.
After what felt like forever Gaeun finally seemed to calm down a bit, her heavy sobs reduced to weak sniffles.
“You’re probably having a great time aren’t you?” Gaeun spat, wiping her sore eyes with the back of her sleeve. “Go ahead and laugh, tell everyone what you saw, I don’t care.”
You kept your eyes glued to your shoes as you thought of what to say.
“I’m not like you.” You said softly after a moment, eyes still pointed down. “I may not be the smartest person around but I can tell when something bad happened.”
Gaeun gritted her teeth at your words thinking you were trying to make of her. Before she could start to spout insults like she usually did you held out a small handmade handkerchief with a piece of peach candy on top.
She stared dumbly at your offer, eyes flicking from the cloth to your face which still looked away as if giving her privacy.
“You don’t have to talk about it, I know I’m the last person you want to see but I hope you can feel at ease at least with this.”
When she made no move to take it, you gently reached out and placed it into her cold hand, the alpha unknowingly releasing some tension in her shoulders as a sweet calming scent became to overpower her own sour one.
She quickly realized you were pushing out your own pheromones, taking advantage that your omega had the ability to calm even the most rowdy alpha.
Her slim fingers picked up the wrapped candy as you began to stand, cleaning up some more of the mess Gaeun had created when she tried to chase you out.
“Some sweetness to make the bitter go away.” You offered a small smile before picking up a maintenance sign on the wall and making your way to the door.
“I’ll put the cleaning sign outside so no one will come in.” You paused for a moment, worry clear in your gentle features. “Hope you feel better.”
Gaeun watched dumbfounded as you slipped out the door, your sweet scent beginning to fade and replace with the same rotten scent of her anguish.
She slowly opened the candy and pushed it between her lips, the sweetness distracting her for a moment as fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.
Your back pressed back against the door as soon as you were able to slip out, your hands trembling slightly as you willed yourself to calm down and take in deep breathes of fresh air.
You were surprised that you’d managed to stay in that small room with Gaeun for as long as you did, her pheromone’s were no joke, you felt like a rabbit trapped in a cage with a lion.
Thankfully you accidentally wore one of Jungkook’s comically large black hoodies to class today, his faint scent bringing you a sense of comfort only he seemed to give you.
You pressed the fabric that swallowed your hand to your nose and let your eyes slip as delicate rain and lilacs soothed the storm of nerves in your head.
You kept true to your promise and flipped the maintenance sign outside the door for the distressed girl before making your way to the library to print out a ten page paper you’d lost sleep over the previous week, but now it was done and you could sleep till graduation.
Try as you might you couldn’t shake off the nasty feeling of what could have made Gaeun so upset.
You’d seen that look too many times in the mirror, the fear and disbelief that something or someone hurt you. If only you could investigate the problem and make her feel better but she very clearly made it known that there was no chance you’d be friends given your very vague history as classmates.
Your omega whined as her protective instincts tried to get you to turn around and comfort the distressed Alpha but you hushed her and scurried your way into the half empty library until you finally reached the printers.
Now you weren’t the best with technology but the fact that you couldn’t work a printer most of the time was something you’d take to the grave.
“Come on you stupid little–“
You cursed the machine as an error symbol continued to mock you despite your best attempts at pressing every button, even going as far as to google the model and a tutorial but it was fruitless.
“Need some help?”
You whipped around at the gentle voice that belonged to none other than Mark Tuan, a very popular senior and Yugeom’s soon to be pack mate.
You’d heard stories about Mark, mainly hushed whispers from girls in your class exchanging dreamy sighs of how handsome and gentle he is, a picture perfect omega. Despite how popular and close he was to Yugeom you’d never gotten the chance to meet him in person but it was your lucky day.
“Uhh, y-yeah this thing is giving me a hard time.” You huffed out an embarrassed laugh as you stepped out of the way to make room for Mark to set his books aside and examine the machine.
“Oh I see the problem.” He hummed, lifting some flap you didn’t see before. “It’s low on paper.”
You felt your cheeks flush hot in shame at the obvious answer, another awkward laugh leaving your frame.
“Oh really? Of course it is, wow it’s- it’s been a long week.” You winced as Mark gave you a soft smile, his eyes creasing making him look like a child.
“It happens to the best of us.” He chuckled before reaching under the machine to pull out a pack of paper and refill it. After a few beats of silence the printer began to smoothly print out your assignment with ease making you roll your eyes.
“It was messing with me on purpose.” You sighed before turning back to Mark with a shy smile. “Thank you so much, I wouldn’t have been able to figure it out. I didn’t grow up around technology that much.” You confessed, the shameful feeling making a pit in your stomach.
You’d half expected Mark to laugh at you, ask if you were an idiot but he just nodded and kept that same kind smile on even going as far as releasing comforting pheromones. The calming scent of fresh pears and rosemary surrounded you, putting your insecurities to ease even for a moment.
“I totally understand, it took me a whole year to learn how to work those fancy calculators, shouldn’t pressing buttons be straight to the point?”
You were quick to nod and return your own smile. “Oh! I’m (y/n) by the way!” You held your hand out which Mark was quick to shake in his delicate one.
“Ah so you’re the famous (Y/n) I’ve heard so much about?” The tilt of your head and wide curious eyes made another chuckle escape his lips. “I’m Mark Tuan, Jungkook talks about you a lot. But don’t tell him I said that.” He put a finger up to his lips in a Shh manner and shot you a playful wink.
Your faced flushed again as Mark’s words sunk in. “Jungkook talks about me?”
Before the older Omega could respond the strong scent of spiced apples and cinnamon filled the small space almost suffocating your poor omega.
“There you are babe, I tried calling you.”
A man with perfectly styled raven hair and a face that looked as if it had been sculpted by God herself stood tall in a long designer coat and gold rimmed glasses perched upon his flawless nose.
One tiny sniff of his intense scent was enough to tell you this man was an Elite Alpha, and a very intimidating one as he slipped his arm around Mark’s slim waist and turned his gaze on you, making you unconsciously fiddle with your fingers.
“Oh I’m sorry Jinyoung, I left it on silent.” Mark apologized as he snuggled into his Alpha. “I was helping out Geomie and Kookie’s friend out, you know (Y/n)? (Y/n) this is Jinyoung, one of my mates.”
The stranger, Jinyoung, gave you a once over before a soft smile broke his otherwise stone expression.
“It’s a pleasure,” Jinyoung politely shook your hand before leaning in a bit and sniffing the air around you making you look up at him with wide eyes. Did you smell bad?
“I thought I smelled JK around here. The kid works fast I see.” He smirked pointing out your black hoodie.
A hot flash of embarrassment shook your body once again as you looked like a gaping fish, trying to form words as you flapped your arms around.
“I-I just borrowed this! We aren’t together or anything like that!” You said a little too loudly earning an annoyed Shh from somewhere in the room.
Jinyoung turned and gave an apology before turning back to you with a smile. “I see I apologize, just having a little fun.”
Mark playfully rolled his eyes as he pulled out his phone to shoot a quick text. “He’s always joking around, sorry that his humor is so bad.”
Although embarrassed you managed a smile and shook your head, still feeling intimidated that two such popular people were giving you the time of day.
“The library is closing soon, have your papers finished printing?” Mark questioned looking over at the machine.
You quickly moved to check, a sigh of relief leaving you as each page was perfectly in order.
You filed them neatly and placed them away just as Jinyoung went to take Mark’s books for him. “Are you headed home after this? We’ll walk you out.” The omega smiled down at you as you three made your way out of the stone building.
“You didn’t have to help me out, thanks again.” You smiled politely as you three stood out in the chilly courtyard.
Before Mark could reply, Jinyoung pointed behind you making you turn with a confused hum. “Damn, he really does work fast.”
Your eyes widened as a very determined Jungkook half sprinted his way to the three of you, his chest raising up and down quickly just further proving how fast he made his way over. “Cherry!” He called as he finally reached you and squished you against his hard chest.
“What happened? Some guy tried was annoying you?” He growled, the noise rumbling through his chest making you weak at the knees as you tried to process what was happening, why Jungkook was even here.
“A guy? What?” You mumbled weakly pushing yourself away from the boys addictive heat.
“Mark said some asshole was hitting on you and making you uncomfortable, are you okay? What did he look like?” Jungkook cupped your cheeks as his brows furrowed angrily.
You stood in shock, your poor little brain trying to catch up to what was happening while your omega was having a field trip with all the attention from the concerned alpha.
A chorus of laughter rang out behind you, Jungkook’s eyes snapping up before he let out a frustrated sigh.
“You guys are jerks.” He mumbled, hands still cupping your squishy cheeks.
“Sorry kid, I just wanted you to show up faster and what better than a little lie. You understand right?” Mark giggled as he held his stomach in pain.
You shyly cupped your hands over Jungkook’s as he bickered with an amused Mark and Jinyoung who took every chance to tease him.
“You can let me go now.” You muttered fearing that the Alpha could feel the heat spreading across your cheeks.
Jungkook quickly released you but made no effort to move out of your personal bubble, even as you turned back to face the other two men.
“You called Jungkook?”
Mark softened at your question, “Yeah it’s getting dark and I definitely don’t want you to go home by yourself, especially with that.” He pointed to his own neck but kept his eyes trained on your wellness collar.
You didn’t detect any malice from the other omega, only genuine concern and understanding.
“You’re right, thank you again for everything.”
The air was soft and light with your mixed scents of happiness making the two Alphas hearts melt at the sweet interaction between omegas.
“I’ll drive you home cherry, let’s go before it gets darker. Thanks again Mark, Jinyoung. Even though it was kinda cruel.” He huffed his cheeks making you fight the urge to squish them.
“Get home safe you two! Don’t flirt too long!” Jinyoung sang as he wrapped his arm around Mark’s shoulder and led him away before Jungkook could bark insults at him.
You couldn’t help but laugh at Jungkook’s pouty face that made him look entirely like a big bunny. “Aw come on Kookie, it’s just a silly little prank. But they’re right you did get here pretty quickly. I hope you weren’t busy?”
Jungkook shook his head quickly, his scent going from annoyed to calming in the blink of an eye.
“No I wasn’t busy at all! I’m more than happy to help you out, trust me.” He reassured you as he led you to the parking lot where his sleek black Mercedes-Maybach was parked in a noticeably crooked fashion. “Plus I’ve been meaning to ask you something so this is perfect timing.”
The boy ran ahead quick to open the passenger side door and help you inside like a true gentleman, even taking your bag and placing it in the back seat for you to sit comfortably.
You willed your heart to stop skipping beats as the delicious smelling Alpha got in and pulled out of the lot with ease, the sleeves of his hoodie pushed up his toned arms allowing you the honor of seeing the veins in his hand flex as he gripped the steering wheel.
“Thank you Jungkook.” You mumbled, for whatever reason falling into the safe head space that only Jungkook seemed to offer you.
“For what?” He hummed, eyes trained on the road but his free hand gravitated to rest on your knee making you unconsciously clench your thighs trying to keep your arousal at bay.
“For everything. For taking me home, talking to me all the time. Introducing me to your friends, you know just- just for everything you do. You don’t have any reason for being so nice to me and yet you’ve been the greatest friend I’ve had since I’ve moved here.”
You’d been so deep in your little monologue that you’d failed to notice you both had already arrived in front of your dingy apartment building.
Jungkook took off his seatbelt and turned in his seat to face you, a frown pulled on his lips making you worry you’d said something to make him uncomfortable.
Before you could apologize the Alpha took the hand that was on your knee and slipped it into your smaller one, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “You shouldn’t be thanking me, if anything I should apologize to you for not speaking to you sooner.”
“But I’m just me and you’re well you know- you.”
Jungkook couldn’t help but chuckle at your words. “Care to elaborate?”
You opened your mouth to reply only to shut it just as quickly, your mind running too quickly for you to form any words that wouldn’t embarrass you in front of your crush.
“You… crinkle your nose when you’re thinking hard about something, you love eating ice cream even on the coldest days, you’re super smart and like to analyze even the smallest of things but you pretend like you don’t in front of our classmates. You help old people carry their groceries to their cars and fix broken toys for kids, you’re a saint.”
Jungkook blinked at you with wide eyes as you spoke about him so gently, a soft smile gracing your lips almost forgetting he was even there.
His heart thumped loudly in his chest the more you praised him. He felt bad for even thinking for a moment that you’d only compliment his looks or his status like many others did but that just showed how different you truly were.
You always saw him for the person he is, not for his vanity. If only you could see just how perfect you were in his eyes as well. He wouldn’t say he was in love but his heart had grown to adore all your little quirks since the day he’d met you.
You’d stopped talking, taking in a sharp breathe as you remembered what you were even doing. The car was slowly filling with your and Jungkook’s combined scents, rain and old books making a perfect harmony as you sat staring into each others eyes as if searching for the answer to all the questions that hung heavy and unspoken between you.
If you tried to remember who moved in first you’d be lost as those dark chocolate brown eyes pulled you in further and further until you needed to come up for air.
Jungkook seemed almost entranced as his hot breath fanned across your cheeks, his lips just a whisper away from your own, eyes darting to look at your delicious looking lips for a split second as if daring you to make the first move.
It was the same look he’d given you that night he slept over, a look of hunger dulled down with a mix of tenderness that had your heart pounding so loud in your ears you wondered if he could hear it as well.
Every sign was pointing in the same direction, if he wanted you just as bad then you’d take it, let yourself be selfish have something so beautifully up for the taking, you just prayed this wasn’t a cruel prank like the many others you’ve endured.
As soon as you moved in, Jungkook moved back much to your horror.
You both stared at each other, the color draining from his face as he realized what he’d done. Your heart dropped into your stomach forming a nasty pit as shame riddled you.
“I- oh my god- I’m so sorry-“ you stammered, you felt hot tears prick in your eyes as you rushed to pick up your bag and jump out of the car as quickly as possible, the voice in your head laughing at how stupid you were. You’d ruined something so great because you thought you were worthy enough and now you looked like a complete fool.
“Shit, (Y/n) wait!” Jungkook cursed as he jumped out as well as chased you into the building, managing to catch your wrist before you got into the elevator.
“(Y/n) please look at me, you didn’t do anything wrong I promise you. Baby please.” He begged once he got you to turn, his hands gently cupping your tear stained cheeks.
Jungkook felt his heart shatter into a million pieces when you finally looked up, your eyes red and glossy and your shoulders shaking slightly as you tried so hard to conceal your sobs.
Your usual calming scent was no replaced with bitter coffee further sending his already distressed Alpha into overdrive trying hard to push out calming pheromones to sooth your Omega.
“I messed up, I’m sorry. I thought you wanted to- never mind please let me go.” You hiccuped, pushing his hands away as turned to leave again but the boy wasn’t going to give up so easily.
Jungkook moved fast, turning you around as one of his arms slipped around your waist holding you flush against his chest as the other cupped your right cheek bringing you up until you felt his soft lips press against your own trembling ones.
Although his arms were holding you so possessively, almost as if too scared you’d slip through his fingers, his kiss was the most gentle you’d ever experienced.
Jungkook tried to portray all the affection he had for you without overwhelming you as he slowly moved his lips against your still stunned ones. Your mind was trying to keep up, your muscles were pulled taunt until finally you allowed your eyes to slip shut and your arms to reach up and wrap around the raven haired boys neck.
You felt Jungkook’s shoulders relax and a smile press against your own as you began to kiss him back, the feeling making you dizzy.
After what felt like forever you both pulled away, your foreheads touching as you let out a shaky sigh, too scared to open your eyes as if everything was an illusion.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.” Jungkook repeated, his arms tightening around your waist. “I’ve been wanting to kiss you for the longest time. I just wasn’t sure you wanted it too.”
You looked up, clearly confused but he cut you off with a quick peck before continuing.
“I don’t want to hear you say you’re not good enough for me because that’s bullshit. You’re one of the only people to ever treat me like a human. I feel like I can be myself around you, everything about you is so addictive. No matter what I do, how hard I try to, I can’t get you out of my mind. You fill my thoughts, you’re all I talk about. Everyone teases me and says I’m in deep, well I am. You’re worth everything in the world, I can’t let anyone else take you.”
His words caused fresh tears to spill down your cheeks as you looked deep into his eyes trying to find any sign to deception but all you saw was intense passion, so rare it made your knees weak.
“I didn’t want to ask you like this, but I can’t let his moment go.” He pressed, stepping back so he could hold both your hands in his own.
“(L/n) (Y/n), will you give me the greatest honor of taking you out? I promise I will be the greatest gentleman, I won’t do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Unless you don’t want to, I don’t want to pressure you at all but-“
You couldn’t help but laugh through your tears as you rushed in, this time cupping his cheeks and pressing another kiss to shut his rambling up, his hands falling to rest on your hips.
“It would make me the happiest girl in the world to go out with you Jeon Jungkook.” You gave him a dashing smile, setting his cheeks aflame before he quickly wrapped his arms around you in a bone crushing hug and spun you around as your laughs echoed in the empty hallway.
“I swear you won’t regret it! Holy shit I can’t believe it!” He cheered loudly as you squirmed against him with a strained giggle.
“You’re going to crush me before we can even go on our first date!” You huffed making the boy release you quickly.
“Oh I’m sorry baby-“ he paused as he realized what he’d called you before a dopey smile pulled his lips up, making him suddenly feel bashful.
“Don’t look at me like that, it’s already hard to look at your handsome face.” You playfully jabbed at him, looking away as you began to play with your hands.
“Aw, but now this handsome face is all yours! Come here!” He pounced on you once again, showering your tear stained face with loud kisses throwing you into another fit of giggles as you pretended to fight against him.
“Do you want to come upstairs?”
“Yeah, we have a lot to talk about.”
