it pains me to log into this god forsaken hellsite again, but i noticed i’ve been getting followers that seem to be regular people and not advanced porn bots (i’m not reporting those, fuck staff for thinking i’ll be doing this job for them), so before this blog gets some of cat pics flagged and deleted, i wanted to make it clear i’m not here anymore
if for some incomprehensible reason you still want to see me wiggling on social media, you can find me on twitter:
mimimivirus is my main twitter account where i extensively complain about videogames
stupidjellies is side twitter account for being horny off main and complaining about my writing
bigstupidjellyfish is my only ao3 account
under no circumstances follow me or interact with my fics if you’re under 18
that’s all

WELCOME BACK! For those who logged off, this is what you missed.
1. @staff made a post pretty much saying “Your stuff isn’t getting deleted, just hidden from everyone but you” and “Yeah we know you hate the term “female presenting nipples” but we ain’t gonna stop saying it” 2. If a blog has a pixelated icon that means they got hit by the ban, you cannot view that blog outside the sidebar. You cannot even view their archive. Allegedly if you follow the advice in this post it’ll be fixed but only if it was an accidental flag (aka a real sfw blog) 3. The post Staff made including examples of what was ok to post. It got flagged. 4. Yes, the bots are still here. Yes they are still stealing posts and putting porn links on them. Yes there are still ads with stuff more sexual than they allow in posts. Yes innocent things are still getting flagged. 5. So yes, the site is still here and staff are still morons.

This Vagabond Fandom Life
The first thing you have to understand is that no one wants us. No one has ever wanted us. And by us I don’t mean fans in general, but creative Fandom, if you will. Transformative fandom–writers and artists and gif makers and vidders and podcasters and podficcers and the community that supports them.
Don’t be fooled by the occasional mainstream media article that uses mostly respectful language or the academic study that talks about transgressive fannish behavior like it’s admirable.  People reading those news articles laugh at us and you don’t exactly see universities creating Fandom Studies departments.
Nor do we have the buying power we like to think we do. Think about it. We wouldn’t have to transform media to suit ourselves if that media already existed. If Marvel gave a damn about Fandom money vs fandom money, they’d be the ones posting the explicit Cap/Iron Man pics. They’ll take our money, but it’s not as important as small-f fandom money because there’s nowhere near as much of it.
So that leaves ue as exactly what we are: extreme niche hobbyists. And you know what? We’re not even nice, easy, safe, niche hobbyists like knitters or…idk, curling fans. We like trangressive sex a whole lot, we tread a very fine legal line in a time when intellectual property laws are a big fucking deal, we’re hard to advertise to, and, to make things worse, we have a nasty habit of dragging our platform admins into our petty, internecine Fandom Drama.
(seriously it’s like if the dude who runs the Giants SB Nation site went running to the SB Nation admins saying that the dude who runs the Dodgers site is a pedophile just because he implied Madison Bumgarner might be a little racist.)
But Telesilla, you say. Are we really bound to your fate? Destined to spend our fannish lives like you have, migrating from one site after another, always losing people and history along the way? This is so depressing! There has to be an answer!
Well, once upon a time I thought the answer was “by fans for fans” and wow, have I been burned by that one. Our greatest triumph is routinely attacked by its own users and our best functioning social media platform doesn’t have the bells and whistles corporate sites can offer. And AO3 and Dreamwidth are the success stories. Ask me about JournalFen. (on second thought, don’t. I don’t have the energy to explain without overusing the word “robust” and talking about ice weasels.)
I’m enough of a Old Time Internet Person to still think doing it ourselves is the best answer we have, but it takes a special kind of person to dedicate themselves to  serving a notoriously fractious internet community that has no money and wants you to cater to their every whim. It takes an even more special kind of person to do it long term. Fandom history shows us that those people don’t come along often. (personal history shows me that I am, alas, not one of them.)
Until they do, we’ll just lurch from corporate platform that doesn’t really want us to corporate platform that doesn’t really want us. Because that’s the bottom line–we’re an extreme niche hobby and there’s no real money to be made off us. Under late capitalism…well, I don’t want to be that Fandom Old, but really, what did we expect?

I wonder where the break happened that such wide swaths of younger fans don’t grasp fandom things that used to be unspoken understandings. That fic readers are expected to know fiction from reality,  that views expressed in fic are not necessarily those of the author, that the labels, tags and warnings on various kinkfics are also the indication that they were created for titillation and not much more, please use responsibly as per all pornography. The ‘problem’ isn’t that so-called ‘problematic’ fic exists but that some of the audience is being stupid, irresponsible, at worst criminal, at best not old enough to be in the audience to begin with. And that’s on the consumer, not the author who told you via labels, tags, ratings, warnings and venues what their fic was about and what it was for.

Canaries in the Coal Mine: If you cheered on censorship of weird art, you’re part of this problem
Unpopular fact that needs to be said now: if you ignored or worse cheered on the constant encroaching censorship of artists and didn’t speak up because it wasn’t the ‘right’ kind of art (your ~pure eroti ca~ art) that was under fire, you’re 100% part of the problem.
The weird ero artists, the hardcore ero artists, the distasteful ero artists, those gross artists have been your canary in the coal mine and y'all decided it was canary season and now… well we may all be in the grave YOU dug but guess what, you’re here too!
Maybe y'all will learn a lesson. Maybe y'all will stop flinging around false accusations for peak woke points and stop censoring art you find icky and artists that don’t peddle only the purest and unproblematicest of smut. Probably not. But a boy can dream can’t he?
The solution always is to speak out against censorship. “But I’m afraid to speak out–” The rest of us who put our necks out and got burned, how do you think we feel? But we speak out against censorship. We defend ‘icky’ art. Because we know the price otherwise.
And if you won’t listen to me because I’m just some queermo who makes weird comics, then maybe you’ll listen to a professional.

Dragon age is coming back so you know what that means. Logging into your dash each day and seeing callouts because someone sided with the magical wizard rumpus club over the warlock circlejerk in their playthrough. Getting messages calling you problematic for following someone who has mixed feelings about the gnome independence movement. Seeing paragraphs upon paragraphs about how slorpity porpity the esteemed magical elf was actually justified in signing the pixie exclusion act. Get ready.

TIME for a little lady love!!! I think this is my favorite f/f ship in the series so far! (Again tho, I’m a huge multi shipper so most of the ships are adorable in my opinion.) ADDITIONALLY I ADORE Momo, I think she’s the character, personality wise (tied with Tamaki), I feel like I can relate to the most.

People who make callout posts about people whos only crimes are liking hentai/anime that doesn’t even involve underage characters are actually shitting on children currently undergoing CSA and survivors of it.
There is a serious problem with people’s mentality on this site when it’s uncovered that massive amounts of actual CP (actual photographs of real children being abused) were being hosted on tumblr and that’s why it got removed from the App Store. Not only that, some of these blogs were apparently run by parents who talked about sexually abusing their own children.
And you know what the anti-kink/anti-shippers response immediately was, and why it makes me so sick to my fucking stomach as a survivor of CSA?
They completely ignore that there was actual CSA and trafficking happening and immediately start whining about voltron shippers and “the hentai freaks” getting tumblr almost deleted. Like, did they even read the fucking news? Are they even capable of reading? Or do they actually not give a shit about actual real life victims? Honestly I’m leaning towards both at this point. They don’t care about victims unless they can be used as pawns by the “leaders” of this movement on tumblr.
You have callout posts on this site that are like “this person is a pedophile here’s proof” and the “proof” is anime drawings they’ve reblogged of characters who aren’t even canonically underaged. Or people calling a drawing of Mina Ashido in a cheerleading outfit child pornography.
You know what this is doing? It’s literally watering down the meaning of important and useful terms such as “pedophilia” and “child pornography” which are supposed to have clear definitions so that people know that someone is a danger to children/children are being harmed.
This isn’t actually something that’s too far off from what I’ve seen actual pedophiles do. I’ve read MAP tumblrs out of morbid curiosity and something I often noticed is whenever MAPs talked about legalizing child pornography they wouldn’t specify that “actually we only mean fictional stuff such as lolicon :)” until other people rightfully jumped down their fucking throats. (Note: I don’t trust that they only mean fictional content.)
Antis are also like this however in the vagueness of how they use terms such as “pedophilia” and “child pornography” but in the opposite direction. To them, almost anything can be defined as “actual child pornography” at this point and that is dangerous.
I got shat on by people saying that I was defending child pornography for this post despite the picture in question that was called out being a non-sexualized completely sfw drawing of Mina from BNHA.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When someone uses a sentence such as “jack off to child porn” most people will assume they are literally jacking off to images of real life children being abused, not a fucking sfw anime drawing.
This is dangerous because it creates a “boy who cried wolf” scenario and literally gives ammunition to actual fucking pedophiles to abuse children.
Whenever people hear about someone who “jacks off to cp” or is a “pedophile” their immediate first response shouldn’t be conditioned to be “okay is this person actually a pedo or do they just fap to fictional anime characters?” Eventually, people will become fatigued and will just stop even checking.
Pedophiles love this. They clearly love the fact that these terms are getting watered down because it creates “reasonable doubt” that when they talk about “legalizing child pornography”. They’re clearly capitalizing on it by using the same vague broad definition that antis use that encompasses even sfw anime drawings. It also draws the attention away from them so they can continue abusing children.
This is so fucking horrifying.
