I feel like we don’t really acknowledge the absolutely unhinged levels of moral superiority people hold over fans of ofmd. Like I’m not gonna get into specifics but it’s so completely bonkers to me that people will see enjoyment of MUCH more problematic media and skip along their merry way… But then when a show with a diversity of skin tones, sexuality, gender, ability, AND writers gets popular, suddenly you’ll have people practically telling you to get a red hot poker up the ass if you dare to still like it when it’s not the most virtuous bastion of media to every exist.

there is never too much art. there is never "everyone depicts this scene/character so if I depict it, it won't add anything" yes it will. no two people will do the exact same piece of art even with the same prompt. so paint or draw or sketch or write your favorite character or scene from your favorite movie or TV show. there will always be someone who wants more of your art and more of what you have made and there is never too much art

Hey 284 I am Actually Disabled and I think Izzy sucks. He’s not monstrous because he lost a leg he’s a nasty possessive controlling jerk. He could have just left at any time instead of call the navy on his boss’s boyfriend. I’m glad he chilled out and apologized but come on. An amputation doesn’t retcon the villainous behavior in season one. If you’re an amputee and you like Izzy because of that, I get it. But I refuse to settle for such an asshole as representation, and you have to understand people dislike him because of how he behaved and how he treats everyone around him like shit.

Does anyone else find this “Izzy has A Disability now and therefore disliking him or holding him accountable for his shit is Bad” narrative creepy and gross? Just me? It has real Model Minority vibes to me, like the alleged Representation a disabled Izzy provides is more important than everything else and should be the main focus of the whole show from the moment he loses the leg. It gives me the ick if I’m honest.

People should stop complaining about izzy-anti-archive. They're doing us all a HUGE service by documenting exactly where the harassment is coming from in this fandom. More than once I've had a friend outside OFMD fandom ask me about all the drama over the canyon and what I always tell them is "You shouldn't take my word for it. There's an Izzy fan blog that exists specifically to document harassment against Izzy fans, so you should take a look and see the sort of harassment they're talking about." And then they look and get back to me and they're like "It seemed like that blog was actually just harassing people who post completely normal meta that's not in love with Izzy? And I didn't see ANY examples there of anyone actually harassing Izzy fans?" and then I tell them, well, if there was any real harassment against Izzy fans, you'd think this blog run by an Izzy fan specifically for the purpose of documenting that harassment would have found it by now, so they now know all they need to know about the state of OFMD fandom. I don't know what I'd do without the archive.
