Trinetra! Three Eyes Of Shiva!! Representing the trinity in all creation, the sun, moon and earth, and the three paths of liberation. The third eye also signifies cosmic wisdom and his ability to see beyond what is visible, i.e. to be able to distinguish the higher truth from illusion or Maya. It is described as Shiva's power of reasoning and discrimination between bad and good. His third eye symbolizes fire, his right eye represents the sun and his left eye represents the moon. While his left and right eyes symbolize Shiva's activity in the physical world, his third eye symbolizes his activity in the metaphysical, spiritual world and represents the power of knowledge. It is with the fire which emanates from this third eye that Shiva destroys the evil of ignorance. The universe emerges into a new cycle of creation when Shiva opens his eyes while it dissolves into a void when he shuts his eyes. Often Shiva is shown with half open eyes, signifying the never ending, ongoing nature of the birth and destruction of the universe. Once when Shiva was in deep meditation, Uma, Shiva's consort playfully came up from behind him and placed her hands on his eyes. The universe plunged into darkness with both his eyes closed. Shiva's brow opened up and a sharp ray of light shot out from there, relieving the universe of darkness. However the ray had set the Himalayas aflame, at which Uma begged Shiva's pardon. It was Lord Shiva’s third eye (element of ether or akasha) that brought forth divine sparks, that delivered the world a Lord Muruga. The sparks from Shiva’s third eye was carried by the God, Agni, (element of fire) and the wind God Vayu (element of wind or air) carried them and dropped them into the sacred River the Ganges, who is no other than the Divine Mother in the form of flowing water (element of water). Mother Ganga carried these divine rays to Lake Saravana, where lotus flowers sprang from the mud and thus the lake represents the element of earth. The rays were then transformed into six baby boys lying on lotus flowers. When the five elements governed by Lord Shiva (Pancha Bhootham which means five natural elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether) united with Shakti (Pure Consciousness), Lord Murugan was born. The spark then took the form of six babies which Goddess Parvati embraced them fusing them into one divine Being with six heads.. Shiva is called Panchanana – Lord with five heads. These five heads represent the five elements in nature. When these five elements united with the sixth: Chaitanya Shakti (Pure Consciousness), they gave birth to the Shadaanana (the six-headed), also called Lord Murugan. You can understand this in terms of the Kundalini Shakti (the primordial, dormant yet potent energy said to be present in a coiled form at the base of the spine). Muruga’s many names Because Muruga was carried by Ganga to Saravana Poigai, Muruga is called Gangeya. Because the spark from which Muruga emerged was deposited in Saravana Poigai, Muruga is also called Saravana. Because he was raised by the Krittikas, he is Kartikeya. Because he has six faces, he is Shanmukha. In Saint Arunagirinatha’s ‘Kandar Alankaram’, he praises the six faces and twelve arms of Lord Muruga which come to the rescue of the world. Because his star is Vishaka, Muruga is also called Vishaka. He is eternally young, and so he is Kumara. 🌻 प्रत्येक व्यक्ति की सुंदरता🌻 एक राजा था जिसकी केवल एक टाँग और एक आँख थी। उस राज्य में सभी लोग खुशहाल थे क्योंकि राजा बहुत बुद्धिमान और प्रतापी था। एक बार राजा को विचार आया कि क्यों न स्वयं की एक तस्वीर बनवायी जाये। फिर क्या था, देश विदेशों से चित्रकारों को बुलवाया गया और एक से एक बड़े चित्रकार राजा के दरबार में आये।राजा ने उन सभी से हाथ जोड़ कर आग्रह किया कि वो उसकी एक बहुत सुन्दर तस्वीर बनायें जो राजमहल में लगायी जाएगी। सारे चित्रकार सोचने लगे कि राजा तो पहले से ही विकलांग है, फिर उसकी तस्वीर को बहुत सुन्दर कैसे बनाया जा सकता है? ये तो संभव ही नहीं है और अगर तस्वीर सुन्दर नहीं बनी तो राजा गुस्सा होकर दंड देगा। यही सोचकर सारे चित्रकारों ने राजा की तस्वीर बनाने से मना कर दिया। तभी पीछे से एक चित्रकार ने अपना हाथ खड़ा किया और बोला कि मैं आपकी बहुत सुन्दर तस्वीर बनाऊँगा जो आपको जरूर पसंद आएगी। फिर चित्रकार जल्दी से राजा की आज्ञा लेकर तस्वीर बनाने में जुट गया। काफी देर बाद उसने एक तस्वीर तैयार की जिसे देखकर राजा बहुत प्रसन्न हुआ और सारे चित्रकारों ने अपने दातों तले उंगली दबा ली। उस चित्रकार ने एक ऐसी तस्वीर बनायीं जिसमें राजा एक टाँग पूरी तरह से दिखाई दे ऐसे घोड़े पर बैठा है और एक आँख रानी साहिबा के लटक रही ज़ुल्फो से ढकी हुई है। राजा ये देखकर बहुत प्रसन्न हुआ कि उस चित्रकार ने राजा की कमजोरियों को छिपाकर कितनी चतुराई से एक सुन्दर तस्वीर बनाई है। राजा ने उसे खूब ईनाम एवं धन-दौलत दी। तो क्यों ना हम भी दूसरों की कमियों को छुपाएँ। उन्हें नजरअंदाज करें और अच्छाइयों पर ध्यान दें।* आजकल देखा जाता है कि लोग एक-दूसरे की कमियाँ बहुत जल्दी ढूंढ लेते हैं। चाहे हम में स्वयं में कितनी भी बुराइयाँ हों लेकिन हम हमेशा दूसरों की बुराइयों पर ही ध्यान देते हैं कि अमुक आदमी ऐसा है, वो वैसा है। हमें नकारात्मक परिस्थि��ियों में भी सकारात्मक सोचना चाहिए और हमारी सकारात्मक सोच हमारी प्रत्येक समस्याओं को हल करती है। 🌈🌷👁📿🔆🐍🐚🕉🔔🍃💟🌈 #_the_shiv_ 🌈🌷👁📿🔆🐍🐚🕉🔔🍃💟🌈#HarHarMahadev ‌ (at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAr8oZehJ4-/?igshid=pe3ova1dczqt

Mrikandu, one of the strong devotees of Lord Shiva was very upset as he was childless. He knew that Lord Shiva can change his destiny and he decided to pray devotedly to Lord Shiva to make him happy and get his blessings. Mrikandu and his wife took a long penance in hope of getting boon of child from Lord Shiva. Impressed with their devotion, Lord Shiva blessed them with a child but also warned him that the child will be shortlived. With the blessing of Lord Shiva, Mrikandu had a son soon who was named Markanday but on his birth, the priest told the couple that Markanday had only 12 years to live. Rishi’s happiness turned into sadness but he also assured his wife that Lord Shiva who has given birth to their child will take care of him also as he has the power to change destinies. When Markandey started growing up, the father gave him the initiation of Shiva Mantra. Markandey’s mom who was always worried told Markandey about his short life when he insisted to know the reason of their sadness. Markandey who wanted to keep his parents happy decided that he will take blessings of long life from Lord Shiva and for the same he decided to penance himself in front of Shivling. He created and chanted the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra continuously. “ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्। उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात्॥” Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti-Vardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityormukshiya Mamritat॥ On his 12th birthday, when Lord Yamraj’s messenger came to Earth to take Markandey with them, they found him too absorbed in the prayer. They waited for him for a while but then returned back without him. Then Lord Yamraj came himself to Earth to take Markandey with him but seeing him, Markandey wrapped himself to Shivling and surrendered himself to the mercy of Lord Shiva. When Yamraj tried to snatch Markandey away from Shivling, Lord Shiva visited them angrily and decided to punish Yamraj. But on request of the Lord, he calmed down and blessed Markandey with a long life. Also Yamraj promised that going forward he will never disturb anyone chanting the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.
