Given the release of X Men 97 and the fact X Men Evolution is easily my favorite version of the team, I've actually been kicking around the idea of doing a crossover fic where Ben joins the X Men after being stranded in a Marvel world and researching the various superhero teams he can join.
Like obviously he'd be the most powerful Avenger/X Men since he can literally go to cosmic scales at the drop of a hat and do shit like casually hand Thanos or Apocalypse their ass with zero effort but seeing as he'd likewise know that I honestly think he'd make the conscious decision to join the X Men out of any given superhero group because there's no way in hell he'd allow all that genocide and lynching and shit that happens to mutants all the time slide.
Hell he'd probably even agree with Magneto and absolutely sympathize with his already being a Holocaust survivor once already and not wanting his people to do it again. Though obviously Ben would disagree with his methods.
Oh and since mind scapes are big things in Marvel I figured the Omnitrix would basically make him immune to psychic tampering because it'd be his mind scape and thus have all of the esoteric defenses in place the Omnitrix already has as well as the various fail-safes.
Like that isn't to say he'd cooldown his heroic drive in Marvel of course, he'd absolutely get involved with stopping Galactus or whatever and not really abide by the whole "people being too busy or otherwise occupied and thus not able to help with the given crisis of the day" thing that's so common in Marvel stories even if it's nominally a shared universe.
Just look at everything that happened in Genosha and shit.
Given how often he'd interfere plenty of heroes really wouldn't like him lol since Ben would absolutely be ok with killing a motherfucker. Like the Maximum Carnage storyline? Ben wouldn't hesitate to kill Carnage and probably end up fucking hating Spider-Man for stopping other people from killing him in the first place.
It'd actually be pretty interesting to see how his presence would affect the canon of Marvel.
Like he could pretty easily make Galactus a non problem by using his super smart aliens/Galactus's own help to make a machine that can just fucking make planets for him to devour. The Galvan entirely remade their planet in less than 6 months after it was blown up by the Highbreed. Working with Galactus it'd be fucking trivial to give him a endless buffet of planets to feed on so he doesn't have to target planets with populations on them, something Galactus himself doesn't even like doing.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Galactus straight up made Ben his herald or something assuming the watch couldn't just scan him since he has DNA and shit.
If anyone would be down to co write this or something hmu in the comments or pm lol it's incredibly fun to think about the realistic consequences of a twist of fate like this.

This is kinda what the main character of Exponential Power has to deal with but significantly less worrying considering his mind control became memetic basically immediately lol.
If you're curious about Exponential Power here's the link and summary. It delves into lots of philosophy that's pretty interesting and is flat out my favorite setting ever. It starts off with everyone literally being the best at everything due to knowledge/skill sharing that's ubiquitous in setting and goes crazier after impossible powers start manifesting. It's an incredibly realistic setting.
My Earth was just like yours prior to 2007. After? After that 80% of the population on every planet in the universe suddenly got a 4 way split between 4 superpowers. Super speed, strength, flight, and intelligence.
The universe didn't know what was happening or why. Until the first batch of people "leveled up" and saw for a brief infinitesimal point in time their skill tree. Infinitely branching and big, with their base super power made from a few of those branches spelling it out.
With the level up grew more power and versatility, growing exponentially at a liner rate.
Fast-forward 10 years and you had large parts of each planet able to obliterate mountain ranges in a single punch or circle the planet in seconds.
The changes brought on by the first showing of powers was massive. After 10 years of getting used to the new normal, everything changed again. The 20% of the population sans any of the Big Four started getting esoteric powers. Like my best friend Caleb, he turned into a 3D living shadow.
Me? I have mind control.
Yeah. Definitely not something you want to advertise, especially when you've always wanted to form a superhero team.

Has Ben's habit of casual flirting caused any problems for him or the team?
Probably not as much as his casual flexing with Omnitrix tbh xD Which is basically flirting for this guy!
Though admittingly HoM Ben is not as flirty as it might seem at first. As he grew up, it became, as you said, a habit - more of a part of his heroic/public persona that he developed after becoming a hero celebrity across the (alien part of) universe.
It tends to make people (especially those who know him by his reputation first) feel easier around him and/or underestimate him if he is just some silly guy who flirts. (I mean he is silly guy who casually flirts, but he is also just a dude and so much more, as we all know.)
There were a few instances when it brought trouble, but also sometimes it helped them out too. But, let's just say that HoMies tend to look out for Ben not to say something unfortunate whenever he tends to be too friendly.
Actually there is another casual flirter in their friend group that brings almost as much trouble as Ben - it's Jake! Some of his casually flirty/overly friendly behaviour can be attributed to him becoming an American Dragon in his early teens (he really enjoyed his newfound cool dragon powers and popularity amongst magical folk), and some of it is just his personality (his behaviour was incredibly cringy at times when he was younger, but as he matured, it changed into something a little bit more charming).
When those two are on a mission together, others have to work overtime to keep an eye on them.
Which is ironic, because I 100% headcanon almost all of the HoMies masters of accidental rizz: they make people like them just by being themselves lol.

After a chance encounter with Ben during a crisis Elena Vallidus is determined to right the wrongs of her past actions and get a hold of her power once and for all instead of allowing them to dictate her actions. Watch as the Queen gets used to her new found purpose and perhaps gets what she always wanted but never went about the right way once and for all.

I want to punt anyone who agrees with this into the sun.
I swear Ben 10 is one of the only superheroes where people seem to get their rocks off showing how shit of a media literacy ability they have.
The show is BLATANT about showing why he acts the way he does.
Like even if the first few minutes of the FIRST FUCKING EPISODE he shows stupidly good moral judgement, especially for a 10 year old. The fact he immediately thought to use the Omnitrix to "actually help people instead of making things worse" is fucking insane.
People give Ben unnecessary amounts of shit for supposedly acting like a 10 year old when even as a 10 year old he shows more maturity and moral fiber than most adults.
Ben being the future Hero of Heroes is well deserved. He's easily one of the most effective superheroes in fiction and easily one of the most dedicated.
Literally the only superhero I know of that is even more insane about their dedication (and actually has Ben as a role model, the series was fictional in his reality before the embodiment of the Multiverse made every possible fiction real, it makes sense in context) is Blake Morgan from Exponential Power and he has so much of a workaholic tendency that the various ultra powerful gods and stuff in setting have literally mandated to have him have mandatory vacations since he's literally (and continues to do so) done an infinite amount of work in a finite amount of time to help people in need all across the Omniverse.
Literally all of this post holy fuck. Ben never had an open relationship. Literally the only person to ACTUALLY cheat on their relationship is Julie because Ben thought they were still together when Julie got Harvey behind his back and started to date him.

I keep seeing people say Ben's character constantly regresses or that he acts like his 10 year old self post season 2 of Alien Force and that's objectively wrong lmao. The series goes over this explicitly multiple times. It explains why he acts arrogant and treats things like a joke.
I fucking hate this take lmao. He never reverted. There's a whole fucking Omniverse episode of 11 year old Gwen being freaked out about 11 year old Ben being mature because his 16 year old mind was in that body at the time.
People who say this and believe it have frankly little to no media literacy or know how teenagers work.
Ben's characterization makes perfect sense in the context of the series.
He was only that mature because he literally had no other choice and saw his grandpa die right in front of him. By the 3rd season he not only knows Max is alive and thus able to help, but he's stopped universal omnicide by the Highbreed.
So obviously once he has more of a support network he can finally relax and be less hyper vigilant. This continues into Omniverse were there's a whole fully staffed Plumber base to help out on Earth now and he's seen so much shit that basically nothing fazes him.
Like Ben LITERALLY SAYS in the Forge of Creation episode that the reason he acts arrogant and jokes is to distract himself from what if scenarios on what could happen if he fails and make sure he doesn't freeze when the going gets tough.

The reason Ben learns the same lessons again is because it's a long running kids cartoon. Obviously they're going to go over stuff like what makes a hero multiple times.
All superhero media, most media in fact, are just different flavors of morality tales in different settings.

I HATE THIS CLAIM SO MUCH lmao.
Like not only does it make sense that Ben isn't entirely consistent between episodes (teenagers are notorious for being flighty personality wise) but the changes and shit he goes through make perfect sense in context.
Context fucking matters lol. People are acting like Ben's character flat out does 180° turns every episode. It doesn't.
It's as perfectly consistent as anyone else's personality and mannerisms irl.
To expect anyone, let alone a fucking teenager, to remain stagnant personality and mannerisms wise is insane.
That's literally not how people function.
This isn't even just basic psychology or sociology (I mean it IS but that's besides the point) it's just a general being alive thing.
Ben's character is neither inconsistent or constantly back sliding.
Why do people act like it's impossible to pay attention to shit? It's a fucking kid's cartoon not rocket science. It's literally made to be understood by children, a large part of why (for example) Ben has multiple episodes per series where he states what a Hero is, does, and why they do what they do.
Superhero media by and large are all basically morality tales set in different settings.
This is literally the most basic of basic media literacy.

Look. Listen. Ben 10 is a franchise that spans four series, four movies, a dozen games on various platforms, several comic series, and it has several dozen writers across its lifespan.
Is Ben inconsistently written sometimes? I'm sure! It would be literally impossible for him to not be.
Overall, Ben is not. If you have a specific grievance with a scene or behavior between episodes, that would be more helpful! Because this nebulous "Ben is inconsistent" claim is as vague as it gets and entirely unconstructive.
In-universe, Ben is a teenager. He has trauma. He has flaws. He has growing to do. He changes. God forbid.
But if you really think Ben is inconsistently written, you can always try a shorter show by a more solid writing team... or try rewatching the show with your eyes open this time.

So I recently stumbled upon King from now on, and Yuri Lowenthal (aka voice of Teen Ben Tennyson, Insomniac Peter Parker, Sasuke Uchiha, etc) voices the main character Yuri. Apparently in it the MC goes from straight to down bad gay. It's amazing so far though I'm reading the manga and not watching the anime much since I don't want to get spoiled.

Say what you will about the Alien Swarm movie but the live action casting of the main trio is like if they were ripped STRAIGHT out of the show.
Like it's fucking INSANE lol. If CN had wanted to they could have easily run with all three of them in a live action series.

I've been watching the Percy Jackson TV series and oh boy Ben would absolutely join Percy in beating up the gods lmao
He'd not let any of their shit slide. Ben would 1000% back Percy up whenever he fights a god. Like hands on sight.
It'd be even funnier because in a fusion setting Ben would absolutely accidentally become a god himself since all the awards he'd get from stopping the High Breed would absolutely ascend him to godhood even before his identity was revealed in ultimate alien.
Combine that with him having held the Big Bang in the palm of his hands before Time was even a thing and he'd easily be the God of Gods along with being the Hero of Heroes.

sometimes you just have to let yourself be a bit neurodivergent.
i hate going out, it gives me a lot of anxiety and sensory input that i dont like, and i am often forced to talk to people.
so i do this thing on more difficult days, or sometimes just for fun, where i "bring a fictional character with me". i walk and imagine Fictional Character walking next to me. they talk to me, reassure me, hype me up, whatever i need them to do.
today dean winchester came christmas shopping with me. he went over the list with me of stuff i needed to get, told me i was doing a good job every time i finished in a certain shop, reminded me to take a deep breath when i got a little overwhelmed.
and yea. its kinda silly. and i know its just me talking to myself in a different voice, but it Works! especially since all of my special interests/hyperfixations tend to be tv/movie related.
so do what you gotta do to Get Shit Done. stop holding yourself to neurotypical standards. if you need Fictional Character to tell you you're doing a good job, do it! if you need Favourite Singer to walk you to school, do it! yea it might feel silly but you're literally fighting against your own brain to get stuff done every single day. you can have a little self indulgent daydream, as a treat.
