I chew lightly on my straw while waiting patiently; Seungkwan sent me text messages this morning about wanting to talk about something important. A small sigh escapes my lips as I look down at my phone; where is he? Fifteen minutes passed already.
I look out the window, hoping to glimpse his Honda Civic; I open the chat and start typing three questions. Where are you? Are you on your way? What's so important that you have to speak in person? I let another sigh pass my lips and lean back into the chair; crossing my arms, I exhale softly and sit up straight. If he doesn't show up in ten minutes, I'll leave.
The cafe was getting a bit busier the minute lunch hour hit; my knee bounced out of anxiety. I fiddle with the sleeves of my cardigan; I can't sit still when I feel uncomfortable in crowded places. I bite my lip and look at the time; I groan quietly as I rest my head on the table. Maybe Mingyu has him held hostage with his undeceive mind? Perhaps he's stuck in traffic, or maybe he was caught up with something or someone else. I turn my head to stare out the window as the snow covers the sidewalks and benches, my first time seeing snow...it feels peaceful watching it snow.
A light knock on the table had me lift my head, "Ooh, I thought it was Seungkwan." I said with a small smile. "Ah, so you're the one he was supposed to meet up with...aish Mingyu has him working double today," Chan says with a smile as he sits. Lee Chan, everyone knows him. He's the face of Kim's Winery and Ero's Fantasies, the most prominent company run by Seungcheol. I'm pretty surprised Chan is the face of Ero's Fantasies, "That explains why he hasn't answered my texts or calls." I said with a smile and let a sigh escape. Chan takes the empty before me, "You know you seem different today." He says with a smile.
I look at him, confused. "Different? How?" I asked. Chan crosses his arms and bites his lip. "You seem chatty...if that makes sense." He says I let out a small giggle, "Chatty? Me? That's new." I said. Chan smiles and chuckles, "It is, and it's a good thing. Most of the time, you avoid conversations with me." He says, tilting his head lightly. "Why?" He asks. I bite my lip and look at my half-empty cup. "Well, I don't like talking about the past; most people tend to jump on that topic when meeting new people," I said. Chan nodded and looked at the table. "I suppose it's a valid reason. I understand," He says I smile.
"Well, I should get going since Seungkwan is stuck with Mingyu in the office. It was nice chatting with you," I said, looking at Chan as I got up, "Oh, let me drive you home. It's snowing and freezing for you to walk." Chan says with a smile as he gets up. I bite my lip and look out the window; the snow looks soft and fluffy. I want to enjoy the snow before the new year; I look at Chan. "I appreciate your offer, Chan, but it's my first time seeing snow, and I want to take this opportunity to enjoy it by myself," I said, grabbing my bag off the chair. Chan had a surprised look. "Really? Of course, I understand," he says; I smile.
"Wait..." He says before I could take my leave, Chan removes the navy blue wool scarf from his neck. "Oh no, it's fine, you need it," I said; Chan chuckles and shakes his head. "Ani, gwenchana. Besides, I have hand warmers," He says as he wraps it gently and neatly around my neck. I look at him with curiosity. "T...thank you," I said; Chan smiled and patted my head. "See you around." He says before leaving the cafe. With curiosity running through me, I watch him go.
He's strange...in a good way, he's reserved yet caring for those around him. I bite my lip and leave the cafe; a soft sigh leaves my lips.
The snow crunches softly under my feet as I walk through the park; it's a bit crowded today. I suppose many people come to the park during the winter to play in the snow; I tuck my hands into my coat pocket, feeling cold. Maybe wearing shorts during the winter wasn't the best idea; I looked up from the snow to see kids running and rolling around in the snow. I smile faintly as I watch them as they scream and laugh.
I grip my coat tightly as I continue to stroll around. I didn't expect it to be this cold during winter, "Eomma, can I have a puppy for Christmas?" a little girl asked her mother as she pointed at a golden retriever walking by with its owner. "Let me talk to your appa," the mother says as they get up from the bench. I bite my lip and tuck my coat under as I sit on the bench. I see the black see-through stocking getting soaked with the snowflakes falling, shivers running down my spine. I fix the rolled-up ends of the black denim shorts, tucking the shirt into the shorts.
A sigh escapes my lips as I watch people walk past me. Christmas is next week, and I haven't done Eunseo's or Hansol's gift shopping. And then there's Seungkwan and Soonyoung; why is it difficult to shop for gifts? I begin to shiver from the cold; I hug myself. I'm not wearing proper clothing for snow; I forgot to wear a long sleeve under my top. I get up from the bench, feeling myself shiver non-stop.
I turn right to continue my walk, and I halt. My breath hitched as we made eye contact; Wonwoo stood ten feet away. I chew on the inside of my cheek; he's wearing a black tux under a dark grey coat. His hair was slightly pushed back, revealing his full features; he wasn't wearing his glasses. I tilt my head lightly; he looks like he has walked out of a fancy dinner.
My heart beats faster as he walks over; I watch him taking cautious steps. I stopped fidgeting and stood in place, our eyes never breaking eye contact. I hiccup softly as I realize he's closing the distance between us; six feet turned into four. And then it became one foot; I looked up at him. His breathing was ragged and unsteady; his brown orbs were filled with anger and anguish.
I froze as he wrapped his arms around me; I could feel his heartbeat against my chest. It was beating like crazy, adrenaline? His breathing becomes steady and calm; his tensed-up muscles relax, going limp. I could hear small sniffles escape from him; I felt my heart ache upon hearing him. I wrap my arms around his torso, comfort...he's seeking comfort.
His warmth kept me from the cold, and my grip on him became slightly tight. "I'm sorry...I just—I saw you and needed your comfort." He whispers; I bite my lip. "It's okay..." I whisper; I open my eyes, feeling him pulling away. "Are you okay though?" I asked; he smiled faintly and nodded. "Yeah," He says, but looking into his eyes, he says otherwise. I drop the subject and nod, "I didn't mean to take your time by surprise; I just didn't know what to do with these overwhelming emotions." He says. I shake my head, "It's okay; it benefited the both of us anyway." I said.
Wonwoo tilts his head, "Really?" he asked. I smiled and nodded, "I was freezing from the cold," I said. He chuckles and smiles. I bite my lip and look at the laces of my boots, "Well, you aren't wearing warm clothes," He says. I chuckle, "Yeah, I underestimated the weather today." I said. Wonwoo laughs lightly, "Here," He says, pulling a pocket hand warmer from his coat. His touch was soft against my hand; it felt like specks of electricity flowing as we touched.
"Thank you," I said with a smile as I held it with both hands trying to keep warm. "You look nice," I said; looking at the black tie and neat hair, he shied away. "Yeah, it was an important breakfast meeting sort of thing." He says, I nodded. "I'm heading to the bookstore...you're welcome to join me if you want," I said, knowing he still needed comfort. Wonwoo smirks, "Buying me ramen?" He asked. I laugh lightly, "I can," I say. He smiles and nods, "Well then, I'll be honored to join you." He says. I smile at his playfulness.
What has you feeling overwhelmed? Why do you close the distances between us when you'll end up stepping back again?

I let a yawn slip past my lips as I finished getting ready for today's busy day; I scrunch my curls in moose. Letting them fall lightly, I wash my hands. I walk out of the bathroom and into the hallway; I hum softly to a song stuck in my head all week.
I stop humming, realizing Wonwoo and Soonyoung were fast asleep in the living room; how could I forget they were still here? I bite my lip and walk into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for them. I open the fridge, getting the ingredients for egg omelets and French toast. I grabbed the empty pitcher from the cupboard and walked to the fridge's ice and water dispenser. Getting ice in the pitcher before filling it with half of water, I let out a small sigh as I set it on the counter.
I pull two mixing bowls from the bottom cupboard, along with two frying pans and silverware for breakfast. I crack eight eggs into one of the bowls, grab the cutting board from the sink, and start cutting up thin slices of carrots, green onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers, setting the stove on medium heat for both pans, adding the right amount of oil for the omelet pan. I pull the diced-up watermelon from the freezer; I bite my lip.
I start with the French toast and the homemade watermelon and cucumber iced tea. I looked at the two men sleeping peacefully even though I had the blender on; I make the first six of French toast before moving on to one of the omelets. I grab one of the plates, add one of the French toast, and sprinkle some powdered sugar; I make the omelet for the first plate.
I turn the blender off and add the sweet tea infusion into the pitcher along with the watermelon and sliced cucumbers. Stirring the tea for a minute, I walk back to the stove, remove the cooked omelet from the pan, and onto the plate. I start with the second omelet; I hear Soonyoung letting out a loud groan and weird grumbling noises. I add the French toast to the other two empty plates, "You're up at six in the morning?" Soonyoung asked with a groggy voice. I let out a small laugh and turned the stove off once the last omelet was cooked, "Yes, and I made breakfast." I said, setting the two plates on the counter.
I grab three tall glasses, setting them on the counter, "Wonwoo is still asleep..." Soonyoung says with a smirk. I look at him as he pulls a Sharpie from the drawer, "Don't even think about it, Soonyoung." Wonwoo's raspy, hoarse voice sent chills down my spine. "Aww man, I thought you were still sleeping," Soonyoung says, dropping the Sharpie back into the drawer. I smile and stick my tongue at Soonyoung, "I made breakfast for us, you should eat before taking the painkillers." I said looking at Wonwoo as I poured the watermelon tea into the cups.
Soonyoung sits on the kitchen stools, "It smells tasty," Soonyoung says with a taunting voice as he looks over at Wonwoo. He was folding the blankets and placing them on the couch, "You didn't have to clean up, I would've done it." I said handing Soonyoung a fork. "It's okay, it's the least I could do for crashing here," Wonwoo says with a small smile, he still looks handsome without glasses. I smile and held out a fork for him as he stood by Soonyoung, Wonwoo smiles faintly and took the fork from my grasp.
I sit on the opposite side of the counter, "Mmm, Y/N, this is so good. Where did you learn how to cook?" Soonyoung asked. I smile and let my fork sit on the plate as I watch him eat, "Self-taught, I learned how to cook when I was ten." I said. Wonwoo's gaze was soft as my eyes met his, "Ten? You learned how to cook when you were ten years old?" Wonwoo asked. I nodded with a sad smile, "Yeah, my mom thought it was an easy way to learn to be independent at a young age." I lie. I learned how to cook and bake at the age of ten. Due to my mom not being around, she spent most days and nights working, avoiding coming home.
My dad was too busy out with his friends drinking and doing, god knows what he was doing, so it was up to ten-year-old me to feed myself by learning on my own. My resources were YouTube, cooking shows, and recipe books; overall, my cooking skills are at a medium level.
I noticed that Wonwoo has a habit of taking small bites when it comes to food; I looked at my plate. I usually skip breakfast, and I have no tendency to eat at all.  "Are you not hungry?" Soonyoung's voice drowns the thoughts away; I look up at him. "Oh yeah, I ate a fruit bowl before cooking, so I'm probably just going to save this plate for Eunseo since she'll be coming home," I said with a small smile as I grabbed a plate lid placing it on top. I sip the tea, the watermelon's sweetness melting my worries away.
Wonwoo and Soonyoung finished eating as Eunseo and Hansol walked through the front door. "You're all awake early..." Hansol says, confused as he looks at Wonwoo and Soonyoung, "Yeah, Y/N made us breakfast. I couldn't pass on her amazing cooking." Soonyoung says with a grin. I feel flustered by his words and pick up the empty plates, "Y/N cooks?" Hansol asked as he turned to Eunseo, who seemed lost as well. "She made you guys a plate," Soonyoung says. I finish washing the dishes and turn to face them. "Y/N...are you okay?" Eunseo asked. I looked at her and nodded. "I have to get going; class starts in an hour," I said.
Soonyoung and Wonwoo looked confused, "Class? Don't you mean work?" Wonwoo asked. I mentally slap myself across the face; I feel my face go hot from embarrassment. "Yeah, that's what I meant; I'm sorry," I said with a small smile. I walk out of the kitchen to get my coat and bookbag; a small sigh leaves my lips as I close the door of my room. "Well, see you guys around or later," I said, opening the door as I slipped into my tennis shoes; I pulled my phone from my back pocket. "See ya, be safe," Hansol says as I close the door; I let out a huff of breath.
Well, that was an exhilarating morning; I walked to the elevators. I slip into my coat as the elevator arrives; stepping inside, I press the first floor. I fix the scarf around my neck; I look at the elevator doors, wondering why it hasn't moved. As they closed and then opened, Wonwoo's tall figure appeared.
I step to the side, making room for him, "Heading home now?" I asked. Breaking the strange atmosphere, the elevator doors close. Wonwoo steals a glance, "Yeah...look, I'm sorry for intruding last night. I didn't mean to." He says. I look at him, "It's okay, I didn't mind. Honestly, I was worried when I noticed you seemed...out of it." I said, feeling my cheeks burn. Wonwoo smiles faintly, "I'm sorry, I don't drink. I guess last night was something," He says. A small chuckle escapes my lips as I look at him again; this time, his gaze is different. "It's okay, Wonwoo; I'm just glad I was the one who cared for you and not someone random and strange who could possibly have been a psychopath," I said.
Wonwoo laughs lightly, "You need to stop reading so many crime thrillers." He jokes. I smile, "Nah, they keep me aware of my surroundings." I said. We both laugh, and the elevator comes to a stop. "Well, I suppose I'll see you around. I hope breakfast and the painkillers helped with the headache." I said with a small smile and walked out of the lobby. "Be safe," He calls out; I smile and glance at him.
Am I slowly developing a crush on Wonwoo? No, it's probably just a normal thing between mutual friends. The strange atmosphere and feelings are just me trying to get used to stepping out of my shell...right?

A sigh escapes My lips. As I walk into my office, Seungcheol gets up from the desk. "Hey what happened?" His tone made me question his weird mood swings, "It's nothing; the patient was scared. Why are you still here?" I asked. Seungcheol sighs and places his hands on his hips, "I need to apologize," He says, letting his game meet mine.
I furrowed my brows in confusion, "For what?" I asked, walking to the coat hanger. I take my coat off, "For that night at my grandfather's party," He says. I let out a scoff and turned to look at him, "Are you being serious?" I asked, crossing my arms. The tone of my voice made him tick off; his gaze was dark. "Yes, I'm serious. Look, I apologize for how I acted that night." He says, stepping closer to me; I roll my eyes.
"No need to; you made it very clear to me," I said, looking at him. Seungcheol let out a scoff.  "I was under the influence. Clearly, I wasn't thinking. I was mad, mad at my aunt for inviting Adeline to the party." He raised his voice; I bite my lip and let out a sigh. "You are so full of yourself; you're arrogant. You take out your anger on others, and you act like the world is out to get you. You are the last man on this planet that I would entwined myself with." I raise my voice back at him, Seungcheol's eyes searching into mine.
My eyes fall on his plush lips, "Is that what you desire?" He asked, closing the distance between us. I look at his brown eyes, "Yes." I said. He bites his lip; I swallow hard. "I see..." His voice was low and husky; I exhaled softly. Pressing my lips against his made me feel dizzy; his hands gripped my hips. I must be out of my mind, but oh god, does his mouth feel good against mine.
My hands grip his collar tightly; it was rough yet sloppy. The kiss was filled with anger and frustration, but it felt so good. I pull away, pushing him off me; I catch my breath. I run my hand over my hair, and I walk over to the door. I open it, "Leave..." I said. I couldn't look at him; I couldn't face the fact that I kissed him out of anger. I couldn't face the fact that I had found myself getting attached.
Seungcheol sighs, "You are so unpredictable," He says, leaving the office. I slammed the door shut; I let out a sigh of frustration. How could I be so stupid to kiss him like that? What was I thinking? There was a knock on the door before it was opened; I turned around, getting ready to yell, only to see Wonwoo entering, "Are you okay? I heard you shouting," He says. I sighed and nodded, "Yeah, I had a small argument with Seungcheol, that's all." I said, leaning back on the desk. Wonwoo closes the door behind him, "But you're okay?" He asked. I nodded with a small smile.
He sighs and nods, "What was he doing here anyways?" He asked, sitting behind the desk. I sigh and face him, "He wanted to apologize for how he acted." I said. Wonwoo looks confused, "Out of the blue," He says. I nodded, "Yeah, that's what I said, but it escalated to an argument." I said, biting my lip. Gosh, I still can't believe I did that. I shake my head lightly, "What did you do?" Wonwoo asked. I give him a perplexed gaze, "What?" I asked. Wonwoo leans back into the chair, "You said you did something, so what was it?" He asked. I bite my lip and close my eyes, "I...I, um, I kissed him." I murmured and opened my eyes.
Wonwoo stared at me with a dazed expression, "Oh..." He says. I sighed, "I know it was stupid. I honestly have no idea what I was thinking." I said. Wonwoo smiles faintly, "It's okay, you just have feelings for him." He says. I scoffed, "As if I honestly have no idea why I kissed him." I said. Wonwoo chuckles and nods, "Perhaps not yet; you'll know why eventually." He says, getting up from the chair. "Well, I have to get back to work before Dr. Park sees me," Wonwoo smiles and walks out of the office.
I can't believe I kissed Choi Seungcheol!?

A sigh escapes my lips as I step out of my room into the quiet hallway; Eunseo left four hours ago with Hansol for the Christmas party. A party that happens a week before Christmas, I walk into the kitchen, turning the lights on.
I open the fridge and grab the bar of pepper jack cheese. I don't mind being alone; honestly, it's for the best. I pull a knife from the stand, cut thin slices of cheese, ten slices, and place them on a plate. Closing the Ziploc bag, I grabbed the ham and cut it into squares. Putting everything back in the fridge, I grabbed a water bottle before entering the living room and placing the plate and bottle on the coffee table. I turn the lights off in the kitchen after grabbing the sliced pomegranate and spoon.
I bite my lip as I turn the TV on. This is my chance to watch the Hannibal Lecter movies. The book was outstandingly good, and perhaps the film does justice to it. I press play on the movie, setting the volume at thirty-five. I clean my glasses and put them on; I sit on the carpet floor. I grab the spoon to start scraping gently at the pomegranate seeds, letting them fall into the bowl.
My eyes glanced back and forward at the movie and snacks as I hugged the brown sea lion plush, the blanket feeling softer and warm against my skin. I place a spoonful of pomegranate seeds in my mouth; the sweet bitterness fills me with ecstasy. This night feels peaceful, my phone sitting in my room away from distracting me.
Half into the movie, the doorbell rang, and I paused the movie in confusion. Eunseo said she was staying over at Hansol for the night, and I furrowed my brows as the bell rang again. I stand up, setting the plush and blanket on the sofa; I walk over to the door quietly. I carefully clicked on the screen to see who it was through the security camera. My heart jumped out of my chest. I could feel the heat in my cheeks rush through my face; I bite my lip as he rang the bell again.
Wonwoo...why is he here? I thought he would be out enjoying the party. Wonwoo rings the bell for the fourth time and my hand hovers over the lock. I am hesitant about this; he sighs briefly before turning on his heels. I unlock the door, opening it before he leaves, "Wonwoo?". He turned to look at me, "What are you doing here?" I asked. His cheeks were flushed red, and his nose, too. I look out the window; it's snowing. I looked at Wonwoo, but he remained silent, almost as if trying to process what was before him. I tilt my head in confusion, seeing him nearly lose his balance, "Wonwoo? What's wrong? Are...are you drunk?" I asked.
Wonwoo blinked slowly; his eyes were empty like. I grab his arms before he can fall backward, "Woah, okay," I said, pulling him close. I walk inside the apartment, "Wonwoo, if you're drunk, can you tell me how much you had?" I asked. But he was mute. His gaze was strange. He seemed lost, "Sit here," I said, pushing him gently on the couch. I let go of his arm, "Where's Soonyoung?" I asked. Wonwoo kept his gaze on me but didn't respond. I let out a small sigh; I walked into the kitchen, grabbing him a cold water bottle. I rush over to him as he tries to remain still, "Here, drink this." I said, opening the water bottle.
Wonwoo stares at the bottle with no thought in his mind; I place the bottle in his hands. "Wonwoo...drink the water, please," I said, hoping he was slowly sobering up; I waited for him to drink the water. Wonwoo brings the cup to his lips; I get up and walk down the hall into my room. I grab my phone off the nightstand; I dial Soonyoung.
I walk into the living room and see Wonwoo placing the cup on the coffee table; Soonyoung answers on the third ring. "Y/N!?" His voice was filled with panic and worried, "Soonyoung, please don't tell me you're drunk." I said. Soonyoung sighs, "No, I'm not surprisingly. Listen, Y/N, I lost Wonwoo in the crowd, and I can't find him." He says. I look at Wonwoo; he's probably confused. "Soonyoung, was Wonwoo drinking?" I asked; Soonyoung murmured, 'Excuse me.'
"Yes, which is why I'm worried. Wonwoo never drinks, and when he does, he's quiet, confused, and tends to wander off." Soonyoung says, he pants. I bite my lip and gaze at Wonwoo, "Um, Soonyoung, Wonwoo is with me." I said. Soonyoung stops. I assume he's running, "What? How?" He asked. I sighed, " I don't know, but he's here. He showed up out of the blue Soonyoung, and he's quiet. It's beginning to worry me; I've given him water and tried to get him to answer the obvious questions." I said. Soonyoung groans, "He's not going to say anything, god why did I let him drink." He says. I gasped and ran over to Wonwoo, seeing how he almost fell onto the coffee table, "What is it, Y/N!?" Soonyoung's voice was faint.
I set my phone on the coffee table, "Yah, are you okay? Wonwoo...you almost face-plant into the coffee table." I said with worry. I could hear Soonyoung shouting, "I'll be there soon, Y/N. Keep an eye on him!". I have Wonwoo sit back on the couch; his eyes begin to rolled back into his head. "Wonwoo," I said, holding his face in my hands, "Hey, what's wrong? I need you to tell me what's wrong," I said, scared. His eyes closed, and I let out a gasp-like breath. I blink away the tears; I begin to shake him lightly. "Wonwoo," I said, he didn't move. I could feel my heart pounding so loud against my chest.
"Wonwoo," I shook him lightly, and he fell to his side. His chest rising made me sigh in relief; I looked at the time. Eleven-forty, I exhale softly and lift his legs so they're on the couch.  I remove his glasses and set them on the coffee table; I pick up the mess I had made before Wonwoo showed up. I walk into the hall and open the closet containing extra blankets, and I grab a dark plush blanket and a pillow from my bedroom.
I walk over to him, lift his head gently, and place the pillow under; the doorbell rings. Wonwoo stirs softly. I cover him with the blanket and walk over to the door. "Where is he?" Soonyoung asked; I hush him. "I think he fell asleep," I said, letting him in. Soonyoung rushed over to Wonwoo. "Gosh, I shouldn't have let him drink. He hasn't drunk alcohol in years, and tonight, I should've kept an eye on him," Soonyoung says as he rubs his face. I lock the door and walk over to him.
"It's not your fault; maybe he's had a long day of work and wanted to let loose," I said, looking at Wonwoo, fixing the blanket. Soonyoung smirks. "I bet you're enjoying taking care of him." He whispers, and I side-eye him. "Are you kidding me? I panicked the moment he passed out, and he almost faceplanted on the coffee table. He was stressing me..." I whisper yell at him, and Soonyoung giggles. "In a good though." He whispers; I roll my eyes.
I placed the back of my hand against Wonwoo's forehead, "He's hot," I said. Soonyoung smirks even more. "Soonie, I'm serious. He's getting a fever," I said, walking over to the kitchen and grabbing a clean cloth. Running the cloth lightly under cold water, I see Soonyoung removing his coat. "He gets like this after drinking so much," He says, rolling the sleeves of his shirt. I grab the trash bin and place it next to the couch. I set the cloth on Wonwoo's forehead, "Do you have any fever medication?" Soonyoung asked, walking into the kitchen.
"Just Tynthenol," I said, pointing to the cabinet above the faucet. Soonyoung opens the cabinet, and Wonwoo sits up. I bring the bin up; Soonyoung sighs as Wonwoo pukes the alcohol he has consumed. "We can't give him any medication until the alcohol is fully out of his system," I said, looking at Soonyoung, "Bring those paper towels," I said. Wonwoo was still puking, and Soonyoung handed me the paper towels.
I rip two of them and use them to wipe Wonwoo's mouth, "You're practically babying him," Soonyoung says, crossing his arms. I give Wonwoo the glass of water, "Shut up," I said. Putting the bin down, Wonwoo finishes the water. I hand Soonyoung the empty glass, "Wonwoo...how do you feel?" I asked. He squints his eyes, "W...what's going on?" He asks. Soonyoung walks over to us, "You got drunk, dude; how did you stumble here?" Soonyoung asks. Wonwoo holds his head, "God...why does my head hurt?" He asked. I bite my lip, "Drinking alcohol does that, but you did almost fall on the coffee table." I said. Wonwoo looks at me; he seemed embarrassed.
"I'm so sorry," He says; Soonyoung laughs and smirks. "Oooh, don't be. Y/N did an outstanding job taking care of you while I was on my way here," Soonyoung says. I look at Wonwoo with a smile. "I feel bad," He says; I shake my head. "Don't it's okay, it's a good thing I was awake when you came knocking. Otherwise, you would've gone off somewhere, and we wouldn't know where." I said. Wonwoo sighs and shakes his head; he tries to get up but only loses his balance. "No, you need to lie down and rest," I said, pushing him lightly onto the couch. Soonyoung chuckles. "You two can stay the night here," I said, walking into the hall again to grab more blankets.
Soonyoung sighed and looked at Wonwoo, "I don't mind at all." He says. Wonwoo rests his head on the pillow. "You two need to sleep. It's past midnight," I said, setting the mattress-like blanket on the floor; I pushed the coffee table toward the TV. I hand Soonyoung a pillow and blanket, "The trash bin is next to you," I said, walking into the kitchen. I pour two glasses of water and grab painkillers for headaches. "And here's the cups of water if you wake up feeling your mouth dry. Take these in the morning since there's still alcohol in your system." I said setting everything on the coffee table.
Soonyoung and Wonwoo exchange looks, "Now I'm off to bed," I said, picking my blanket and sea lion plush off the chair. "Sleep well," I said, turning the TV and the kitchen lights off; the only light source is the moon and Christmas lights outside the balcony.  "Night," Soonyoung says, I wave at them.
What a night in.

╚» Now playing —» Over my head by The Fray
Tumblr media
My knee was shaking with anxiety as Mingyu looked over at the new scripts for this month's new wine. Minghao was pouring whiskey into three glasses that sat in front of us, "Relax Y/N, we both know Mingyu takes his sweet ass time with this stuff." He says, placing one of the glasses on Mingyu's desk. Minghao offers me a cup, but I shake my head, "I'm not much of a drinker." I said. He smiles and nods, and a small sigh leaves my lips.
Minghao fixes his coat before sitting on the leather couch; I bite my lip and look at the bandaged knee. A light knock was heard before the door was opened; Seungkwan walked in with Mr. Choi and Wonwoo. I stood up abruptly, earning a look from Minghao and Seungkwan. I looked at Mr. Choi. "Mr. Choi, I wasn't aware of your arrival," I said, covering up my strange action by speaking formally, earning a light-hearted laugh from him. "Y/N, please just call me Seungcheol. It makes me feel old when you call me Mr. Choi." He says; I give him a faint smile and nod.
"Sorry, a force of habit," I said, sitting back on the couch; Minghao chuckled. "Don't worry, you'll grow out of it...eventually." He says with a wink; Seungkwan scoffs. "Yah. Don't be getting too comfortable with Y/N, Hao," Seungkwan says, scowling at Minghao; I let out a small laugh. The five had dazed expressions; I looked at Seungkwan and Minghao. "It's okay, Seungkwan, his flirting is harmless. Not to mention Minghao, I apologize, but your tactics don't work on me that well." I said with an apologetic smile. Seungcheol and Wonwoo were laughing as Minghao pouted playfully.
Seungkwan smiles and ruffles my hair lightly; Minghao places his hand on his chest. "Wow, Y/N, your words, gosh." He says with a smile; I let out a small giggle. "Y/N fits right in Seungkwan; there's no need to worry so much," Mingyu says, getting up from his desk. "I've made up my mind." He says, letting the script he picked on the coffee table. I gulp softly, and Seungkwan pats my shoulder.
Mingyu sits on the empty seat beside me; I look at the script on the table. Minghao sighed in relief, "New record, Mingyu, it took you three minutes." He says with a smirk. Mingyu pouts, "Yah, try deciding which tea set you like the most. Then you'll know how I feel when it comes to Y/N’s writing." Mingyu says, letting out a huff of breath. I smile faintly and nudge his side lightly, "I'm serious, Y/N," I look at him. I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Y/N was drinking with Soonyoung?" Seungkwan asked with a laugh; Mingyu, Seungcheol, and Minghao seemed perplexed. "You went out drinking with Soonyoung? Oh, you poor thing, I can't imagine how it was." Mingyu says, pulling me into his arms; I give them a confused look. "Why? It wasn't a bad experience, and I had fun, honestly." I said; Mingyu gasped and pulled away. "Really?!" He lets out, and Minghao raises his brow. "Fun? Soonyoung? Alcohol? Those words are never used together in a sentence," Minghao says, crossing his leg over the other, "Drinking with Soonyoung was fun; I don't see why you all seemed concerned about it." I said.
Seungcheol smiles and chuckles, "Wonwoo you gave them a ride home. How was Soonyoung?" Seungkwan asked. Wonwoo sat with crossed arms, "Soonyoung wasn't drunk...like how he usually gets." Wonwoo says. Our eyes glanced for a second; I looked down at my lap. "Y/N?" I look up at Seungcheol, "What about you?" He asked. I gaze at him, confused, "Do you have plans tonight?" He asked. I let out a small sigh and left my lips, "No I don't; I probably will just spend my evening at the bookstore or cafe." I said.
Seungkwan shakes his head, and Seungcheol smiles. "Then why not join us tonight for the Christmas party." He says I look at him. I let out a small sharp exhale, "I don't..do well with parties." I said making eye contact with Seungkwan. He nods, and mouths 'It's okay', "Aww, you have to join us. We'll all be there; Soonyoung will also be there." Mingyu says with a pout. I chuckle, "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to decline. I appreciate you guys inviting me, but I can't," I said, getting up from the couch and grabbed my phone off the coffee table.
"Well then, since the script has been selected, I'll email it to the editors to start working on the campaigns and ads," I said, looking at Mingu. He nods, "That's great. Well then, have a safe night, Y/N."  He says with a small smile. "Good night Y/N," they all said, except Wonwoo, who was quiet as usual. I waved at them before walking out the door, closing it behind me. A long sigh leaves my lips as I walk down the hall; I bite my lip and reach my desk to gather my things.
I type in the email that Mingyu...Mr. Kim had selected the final script for the monthly wine's promotion. Turning off the screen monitor, I grab my bookbag. My heart leaps in fear hearing Mingyu's office door opening and closing. I slip on my coat quickly; I need to leave. I grab my phone and rush to the elevators; I press the down button rapidly. I heard footsteps approaching, the doors open, and I stepped in quickly.
A small gasp escaped my lips, seeing Wonwoo holding the elevator door open; his eyes were on me like they were searching for something.  "Are you okay? You seem anxious," He says, stepping inside the elevator; I fix my posture. "Yeah, just tired," I said; I pushed the first-floor button. "You seem quiet.." He says, turning his body towards me. I look at him. "Me quiet? I would say you're the one that's been quiet lately..." I said, looking back at the elevator doors as it passed the fourth floor. Wonwoo lets out a chuckle. "I'm usually quiet due to not being interested in certain topics, like business-related topics." He says my eyes watch him from the door reflection, and I nod. "I see. Well, I'm sorry for not being interested; work is busy, so I tend to stick to business topics," I said.
I look at him; Wonwoo's gaze has not left me since he had stepped foot in the elevator. "Work is work," He says; I smile faintly. "It is...which is why I decline the invitation to the party," I said as the elevator dings. I turn to walk out of the elevator; his footsteps are so close. Walking out of the building, I face Wonwoo, "You say that, but I think...I think there's a different reason why you're declining." He says. I cross my arms. Why is he curious? I bite my lip, "Okay, Mr. Surgeon what do you think the reason is?" I asked with an amused smile. Wonwoo sighs and looks around for a second, "You had bad experiences, or you have a bad habit of isolating yourself." He says.
I exhale sharply and look at him, "Bad experiences sure, isolating myself that too." I said turning to walk away. "Why isolate yourself? I mean, Soonyoung thinks you're putting yourself out there and expects you to be this bubbly person." Wonwoo says, matching my pace, "I don't isolate myself; I'm just cautious regarding people. As for Soonyoung, he knows that I probably won't make that much progress but believes that I can. I don't blame him for having exceptions." I said.
Wonwoo sighs, "Cautious...well then, I'm guessing you'll be spending this night alone since Eunseo will be joining Hansol at the party." He says. I look at him with a smile, "Why do you ask? Are you suggesting me to do something else rather than being home and sleep?" I asked. Wonwoo laughs and shakes his head, "Not necessary..." He says. I chuckle, "I'm perfectly fine being home by myself. besides, I won't be alone." I said. Wonwoo halts, "You won't?" He asked. I shake my head, "Nope, I have my books to keep me company." I said, letting a laugh slip my lips. Wonwoo smiles and chuckles, "Well then, here we are." He says, looking at the apartment complex.
I sigh softly, "I hope you have a fun night with everyone else and stay sober." I said. Wonwoo smiles and nods, "Have a good night," He says as I make my way to the doors. I wave at him before entering the complex; I guess he did walk me home. Seungkwan probably asked him, too, knowing him and how quick he is when realizing a connection. But it was sweet of Wonwoo to obey Seungkwan's request.

Soonyoung wouldn't let me push the cart; he wanted me to be away from him. A sigh escapes me as I grab the bag of chips, tossing it into the cart. I glance at Wonwoo; he's been quiet since we got here.
Soonyoung looks at Wonwoo as I reach for the package of already-cooked white rice, "Y/N maybe you should talk to him," Soonyoung whispers. I look at him and frown, "He's a surgeon. What kind of conversations would I have with him, how to operate on a heart?" I whisper. Soonyoung smirks and shakes his head, "You being sassy with me," He says, crossing his arms. I sigh and glance at Wonwoo; he seems to be bored. I huff out a breath and continue to walk down the aisle, looking for Eunseo's favorite ramen.
Soonyoung stops the cart, lets out a small sigh, and looks at Wonwoo. I glance at him, and Wonwoo looks at us confused. "What?" He asked; Soonyoung shook his head. "Just wondering why you're so quiet." He says. I bite my lip; I check ramen off the list. "I'm always quiet, Soonyoung," Wonwoo says, walking past him and out of the aisle. I glance at Wonwoo leaving; I look at the list and Soonyoung. "I have one more thing, and we're good to go," I said faintly. Soonyoung smiles and nods, and we walk out of the aisle.
We walk to the fruits and vegetables area, "Pomegranates?" Soonyoung asked. I grab a box of ten pomegranates, "Yes, Hansol ate my last pomegranate last night," I said, placing the box in the cart. Soonyoung chuckles, "And we're done; let's go check out." I said. Soonyoung pushes the cart to the checkout aisle. I looked out the sliding doors, seeing it was raining heavily; Wonwoo didn't seem to be bothered by it at all. I tilt my head, watching how he looks at the gray sky.
Soonyoung nudges my arm softly, "Everything's scanned," he says. I pull my wallet out of my bag, "What were you looking at?" He asked. I slide my card into the card reader, "It's raining, and Wonwoo is standing outside." I said, grabbing the receipt. Soonyoung turns the cart towards the exit, "Well, Wonwoo enjoys the rain." He says. I nodded in acknowledgment; and we walked out of the store. Wonwoo turned to look at us, "The car should be unlocked." Soonyoung says, holding the car keys.
Wonwoo takes the cart from Soonyoung; it was somewhat comforting walking in the rain. Soonyoung was the only one rushing to the car; I looked at the back of Wonwoo's head, feeling strange. "You're getting soaked; you should hurry inside," Wonwoo says as he opens the trunk. I look at him. "I'm fine, besides I like the rain. It's comforting." I said, grabbing the last grocery bags and putting them inside the trunk. Wonwoo chuckles and closes the trunk, I look at him. His glasses were covered in raindrops. "Strangely comforting." He says, I smile and nodded. Wonwoo takes the cart.
I get inside the back seat, "So was it nice?" Soonyoung asked with a smirk. I rolled my eyes, "Hush it Soonie," I said. He laughs and smiles, and the passenger door opens. "Alright let's drop you off," Soonyoung says as Wonwoo fastens his seatbelt, I nod. Well, it was somewhat fun shopping with them, although Wonwoo was quiet and reserved but I don't blame him.

A small sigh escapes as I finish packing Soonyoung's meal for his hangover, which is probably unbearable, given how much he had of Soju. I place the paper bag next to my phone, "Oh, you're awake, good. How was last night?" Eunseo asked with a smile as she walked to the refrigerator. I return her a warm smile, "Mhm, it was fun. Soonyoung probably had more fun, though. I mean, he got so drunk that Seungkwan had Wonwoo drive him home." I said with a light chuckle.
Eunseo smiles and nods, "Really? So I'm guessing Wonwoo dropped you off last night as well?" She asked. I nodded, "Yeah, he did. I'm actually heading to Soonyoung's, and I'll have to do this month's grocery shopping, too." I said. Eunseo lets out a small groan, "That's right, groceries. Let me give you my half for this month." She says, rushing back into her room. I look at the time, seven-thirty. Soonyoung's probably still asleep, but he needs to cure that terrible hangover. Eunseo rushes back out with a sticky note and money, "Here's my list and this month's grocery money." She says.
I place her list and the money into my bag, "Be careful; it's going to rain soon." Eunseo says as she hands the purple umbrella. I look at it briefly and accept it, "Thank you...see you in a bit." I said. She smiled and nodded; I grabbed my bag and paper bag. "Bye," Eunseo says, waving. I walk out of the apartment, hearing the door automatically lock; I make my way to the elevators. I hope Soonyoung is okay.
This breakup has taken a big toll on him; I opened his contact on my phone. Maybe he's still sleeping...he's very emotional when it comes to hurting. I've seen him cry, but these days, he's been holding back his emotions. Stepping out of the lobby, I spot the taxi arriving by the main entrance; I sigh before walking to the cab. "Good morning, miss." The driver greeted me, and I gave him a faint smile.
The drive was past twenty-five minutes; last night's drive didn't seem far when Wonwoo dropped me off. I begin to feel bad for him, knowing he must've been busy and had to drive Soonyoung and me home; I shake my head, realizing my thoughts were beginning to consume my mind. The car came to a slow stop, "Here we are, miss...daebak, you sure know Mr. Kwon very well if he gave you his home address." The driver says with a small smile. I furrow my brows, "Thank you for the ride." I said, paying the fee, and got out of the car. The driver waves off before driving away.
I watched the taxi leave before inputting the gate's code; Soonyoung was so drunk that he spilled the code to Wonwoo and me. I look at the gate opening; a sigh leaves my lips as I walk through. I feel my phone buzz in the pocket of my jeans, and the gate lets out a loud sound, causing me to jump a bit. I look at the gate before answering, "Hello?". "Y/N," Dr. Cooper...I thought I had her blocked.
"Why are you calling? How are you calling?" I asked, annoyed, "Y/N, don't hang up, it's about Dylan." Hearing his name made my chest ache. "What about him?" I asked, strolling up the steps, "Dylan ran away from home, and your mother came to the office claiming that you kidnapped him. Y/N, this is a serious situation." Dr. Cooper's voice was filled with worry. I bite my lip and look at the big black wooden door, "Look, Dr. Cooper, you need to focus on Dylan and stop trying to find me. You won't, and I won't let you find me." I hung up before she could say anything else.
I looked at the number and blocked it; a sigh left my lips, and rang the doorbell. I bite my lip, waiting for Soonyoung to answer the door. He's probably still asleep. I let out a long sigh and rang the bell again, "SOONYOUNG!" I tried my best to be loud enough for him to hear. I knock on the door, "SOONYOUNG, it's Y/N!" I step back and look at the window with the open curtain. The sound of glass breaking and a thud made my blood run cold, and my fists collided with the door. "SOONYOUNG".
I open my bag and pull out the pocket knife, "Woah woah! Put that down!" Soonyoung's voice made me sigh in relief. I looked up, but the door was still closed, "Soonyoung?". I hear the door being unlocked, "Yah, why did you pull that out?" Soonyoung asked. His eyes were squinting due to the brightness, "I was going to pick the lock with it," I said. Soonyoung shakes his head with a smirk, "Why?" He asked. I look at him, confused, as he lets me inside the house, "Because I heard glass breaking and a loud thud. I was worried, Soonyoung." I said, putting away the pocket knife.
He closes the door behind us, "You were willing to break in if I hadn't answered the door in time? Aww Y/N. You softie." Soonyoung says with a smile and wraps his big arms around me. I sighed, "Anyways, I brought you food to help with the hangover." I said, pulling away from his embrace. Soonyoung furrowed his brow in confusion, "You cook? How come you never mentioned you know how to cook?" He asked. I smile faintly, "Because you never asked, and yes, I also bake." I said, walking over to the kitchen and sitting on the paper bag on the counter. "Ooh let's see what you made," Soonyoung says excitedly.
I take the food containers out of the bag, "I made you beef gimbap along with a porridge stew and a sweet raspberry tea, and since you have a sweet tooth in the morning, I made you strawberry brownies." I said with a smile. Opening each container, Soonyoung groans softly, "Y/N, you are so sweet; it all smells so good." He whines. I hear footsteps from the stairwell; I look up to see Wonwoo. I averted my eyes, realizing he was only in black shorts, "Oh, I thought you left." Soonyoung said as he grabbed a pair of chopsticks and a spoon. I look at Soonyoung and only at him. Wonwoo is shirtless, and I do not want to be caught staring at his big biceps. "I could leave knowing how you get in the morning after drinking all night," Wonwoo says.
I bite my lip, feeling overwhelmed, "Well, I came by to make sure Soonyoung was okay and to drop off some food. I have some errands to run, so have a good morning, you two." I said, grabbing my bag. I hear Soonyoung snicker, "Oh, come on, Y/N, it's okay. I don't mind you staying for a little while," He says. I look at him; Soonyoung takes a gimbap into his mouth and smirks before chewing. "I appreciate the offer, Soonyoung, but I have groceries to buy," I said, wanting to leave the house feeling highly overwhelmed from seeing Wonwoo shirtless.
"Then let Wonwoo and I accompany you; you don't have a car, and how are you going to carry the groceries all by yourself," Soonyoung says, crossing his arms. Wonwoo stood by the counter with curiosity as he looked at the food, "It's fine, Soonyoung. I've always managed the grocery shopping on my own very well." I said, forcing a smile. "Let us go with you, Y/N. Soonyoung seems very worried about you going alone, especially when it will rain in twenty-five minutes." Wonwoo's deep, raspy voice interrupted Soonyoung's upcoming protest.
Soonyoung smiles cheeky and crosses his arms proudly, "I..you guys don't have to help." I said. Wonwoo makes eye contact; I froze, feeling my body go cold. "Soonyoung wants to help; him helping doesn't affect your strong independence, Y/N." He says with a small smile. Oh boy there's that strange feeling again.

Soonyoung laughs as he places the meat on the grill, "Seriously? He asked you out in front of everyone. Yah, daebak." He says with a smile. I let out a small laugh as I sipped on the water, "I was confused, so I left," I said. I spoon the kimchi stew with rice, "It's not your fault; besides, isn't Yuno the one-night stand type? What a prick for thinking that way." Soonyoung says with a grimace look. I sighed and nodded, "Mhm, but don't worry, I hope me leaving him was a good hint." I said with a sad tone.
"Although I feel bad, you know," I add. Soonyoung shakes his head. "Nope, don't, it's normal for you. I mean, you never dated anyone or anything, so it's natural that you find it uncomfortable." He says with a soft and cautious tone.
I smile and bite the juicy grilled meat, "Are you still having nightmares?" He asked. I look at him as he stuffs his mouth with rice; I chuckle as his cheeks are puffed.  "Sometimes, but Seungkwan has been staying over on the weekends, which has been helping," I said. Soonyoung smiled and nodded. "That's great Y/N. You're getting out of your shell slowly. It's great progress," he says with a smile. I chuckle softly, "Yeah...um, Soonyoung, do you know Wonwoo? He's friends with Minghao and Mingyu," I said, feeling my cheeks flush with heat.
Soonyoung has a smirk on his lips, "Why? Do you like him?" He asked. His questions made my face feel hot, "No, I just...I met him recently and have bumped into him a couple of times," I stuttered. Soonyoung laughs lightly, "Wonwoo, yeah, I know him. He is a busy man and spends restless nights in the surgical room." He says. I bite my lip and take another spoonful of the stew and rice, "But Wonwoo, it's difficult to get him to think about getting into the dating life." He adds. I look at him, confused yet curious, "To put it simple, Wonwoo has been through...a lot." Soonyoung explains. I nod in acknowledgment.
I help Soonyoung out of the bar, "Y/N, I love that you invited me out," He slurs drunkenly. I let a small laugh escape my lips as I helped him sit on the bench, "It means so much that you're getting out of your shell...I'm proud of you, Y/N." He cries and wraps his arms around my waist. I shake my head and pat his shoulder, "Seungkwan should be here soon; you're too drunk to drive yourself home." I said. I look at my phone screen to see a text from Seungkwan saying he's stuck at work with Mingyu, so he's sending a friend over instead, "Y/N—-Oh Wonwoo!!" Soonyoung's loud, cheerful voice made me drop my phone.
"Yah, Soonie," I scolded and picked up the phone, "Soonyoung, wow, okay, you're drunk." Wonwoo's deep voice made goosebumps form on my arms. I look at Wonwoo, feeling flustered. I bite my lip. Hiccups were now trying to escape my lips. "Y/N? Did you drink as well?" He asked; I nodded. "Just two glasses," I said. Soonyoung stood up with a smirk but almost lost his balance. I grabbed his forearm, "Woah yeah, Soonyoung, we need to get you home." Wonwoo says as he helps Soonyoung stand. "I love you guys," Soonyoung sobs, and Wonwoo chuckles. "Okay, let's go." He says as we help Soonyoung walk.
Wonwoo opens the backseat door to Soonyoung's car; I make sure Soonyoung doesn't hit his head. "Where's your car?" I asked, Wonwoo fastened Soonyoung's seatbelt. "I didn't bring my car, I had a cab drop me off when Seungkwan called and mentioned Soonyoung drinking." He says with a small smile as he closes the car door, I nod in acknowledgment. "Makes sense," I said crossing my arms and covering myself from the cold.
"I'll take the two of you home," Wonwoo says breaking the silence ; I smile faintly and walk to the passenger door. Flustered, why does he always make me flustered? I pull my hand away from the door handle, letting him take over, "I'm sorry, it's a habit," He says with a light chuckle as he opens the door. I flashed him a small smile, "It's okay," I said, getting inside the car. I fastened my seatbelt as he shut the door; I let out a small huff of breath. "Did he make your heart race?" Soonyoung asked, laughing; I turned to look at him. "Not a word, Soonyoung, please," I begged. He put his hands up, and Soonyoung smiled as he 'zips' his mouth.
I sighed and fixed myself as Wonwoo got inside; gosh, this car ride is going to be awkward.
Soonyoung kept complaining about the car being too quiet; of course, he knew I was not one to converse unless someone started the conversation. Wonwoo gave up after Soonyoung attempted trying to create a converse. I found it strange that Soonyoung even likes soft tunes. Usually, he likes to listen to pop and RnB when drunk. I found myself bouncing my left knee out of anxiety; it kicks whenever. But it's never a bad case of anxiety. Wonwoo stops at a red light. Soonyoung was dozing off, "Are you okay?" Wonwoo asked.
I looked at him perplexed, "Yes," I said, unsure what he meant. Wonwoo smiles faintly and shakes his head, "Are you sure? You seem uneasy. Did that guy make you that uncomfortable?" He asked. Oh, he was talking about Yuno; a small sigh escapes my lips. I force a smile, "I'm okay, just not used to people confessing or asking me out on dates." I said, feeling shy and embarrassed. "Right, no, it's okay. Well, I say try to get used to it; it will happen some other time eventually." Wonwoo says with a small smile, "Tsk, I doubt that...Yuno only wanted me to go out with him for one thing, and that's not a regular date night basis." I said. I feel sick just thinking about it.
Wonwoo comes to a stop as he waits for the gates to open, "Well then, it's a good thing you ditched him on the spot." Wonwoo says, entering the driveway of a two-story house. I look at Soonyoung, "Soonie, you live in this house alone?" I asked. But he was fast asleep; Wonwoo chuckles as he parks the car. I remove the seatbelt and get out to help Soonyoung; I shake him lightly. "Home already?" He asked; I smile. "Yep," I said; he took off the seatbelt and slowly exited the car. Soonyoung almost trips, and I grab hold of his waist.
Wonwoo lurches forward to catch him, "God, Soonyoung how clumsy can you be while drunk." Wonwoo says. He seemed worried, and I don't blame him; Wonwoo closed the car door and grabbed Soonyoung's arm. We walk up the pebbled steps and reach the front door; Wonwoo fumbles with the keys. "No Soonyoung, don't fall asleep yet," I said, holding him forward and stopping him from falling backward. Wonwoo unlocks the front door; I push it open as Wonwoo grabs Soonyoung's arm and wraps it over his shoulder.
I made sure they didn't trip over the step, and I closed the door on my way in. I follow behind them. Soonyoung begins to kick his shoes off, and I pick them up. "Y/N, you are welcome to stay the night and come whenever you want." Soonyoung blurs out as we walk up the stairs; I open my mouth to thank him. "Don't worry, Soonyoung I'll be making sure Y/N gets home safe," Wonwoo says with a smile. Soonyoung laughs, but his laughing only causes him to miss a step. I grabbed his arm, hoping it would prevent him from falling, but he only made me and Wonwoo with him.
My knee must've scraped against the corner of the step; I wince lightly. "Soonyoung," Wonwo and I said in unison, he was laughing. I looked at Wonwoo; I felt flustered seeing him smiling. Eventually, we laughed with Soonyoung, "Okay, Soonyoung maybe drinking isn't for you." I said, helping him sit up. Wonwoo gets up, "Ow my ass," Soonyoung whines. I laugh lightly, "It'll only be bruised in the morning." Wonwoo says, getting him up to his feet.
I stand feeling a bit light-headed; I grab onto the railing. "Yeah Soonyoung, you'll be fine," I said. I looked at my knee; it was scraped indeed. It's bleeding a bit; I followed behind Wonwoo and Soonyoung. "Okay now you can sleep," Wonwoo says, making Soonyoung lie on the bed. I walked to one of the drawers and pulled out a black t-shirt and sweatpants.  "Soonyoung maybe you should change into comfortable clothes; I don't think sleeping in a tux is ideal," I said, handing him the clothes.
Soonyoung grabbed the clothes but didn't move another muscle; a sigh escaped my lips as I rolled the sleeves of my cardigan up. "Sit up," I said grabbing his hands; Wonwoo placed Soonyoung's phone on the charge. "What are you doing?" Wonwoo asked as I helped Soonyoung remove the black blazer, "Helping get into comfortable clothes," I said. I glanced at him; Wonwoo had a stern gaze as he crossed his arms and leaned against the drawer.  Soonyoung smirks, "Yah, in front of Wonwoo." Soonyoung laughs.
I smack his head lightly; I begin to unbutton his shirt. "Stop with the jokes Soonyoung; I'm not attracted to you that way," I said, removing the shirt and tossing him the black T-shirt. I leave the room; I let out a small sigh, feeling tired. I walk down the stairs, "Goodnight, Y/N," Soonyoung calls out. I smile faintly as I sit on the couch and look at the wound on my knee; it doesn't look that bad.
I look at the time on the clock sitting on the wall, past midnight. I furrowed my brows and tilted my head lightly, my eyes gazing at the photograph on the shelf where the flat screen sits. Soonyoung seems to have a good group of friends; I'm glad he's not alone. He's been through a rough breakup and needs all the support he can get. I bite my lip as I remember the day he came crying to the apartment; I let out a small sigh of frustration.
I hear the stairs creak softly, "Goodnight Wonwoo," Soonyoung calls out. "Night," Wonwoo calls back; I get up from the couch, "Did he get into the clothes?" I asked. Wonwoo nods, "Yeah, I forced him too." He says with a slight chuckle. I smile as we walk to the front door; I look at Soonyoung's bedroom door. "Don't worry, I'll be coming back once I drop you off to check on him," Wonwoo says. As he opened the door, I let out a small sigh. "Okay," I said, stepping out of the house.
"How close are you and Soonyoung?" Wonwoo asked as he opened the passenger door, "Soonyoung and I met through my roommate; he kept coming every day, even when my roommate wasn't home. And I guess I enjoyed his company; he's the only person aside from Seungkwan to know me very well. And I know him very well," I said. Wonwoo smiles faintly, "That sounds like Soonyoung, alright," He says. I laugh lightly.
I get inside the car, feeling more comfortable speaking to Wonwoo; he starts the car. "Yeah, I hate leaving him alone, especially after his breakup with Sol,” I said, looking at the only light in the house. Wonwoo backs out of the driveway and waits for the gate to close before driving off, “Yeah, Soonyoung told me about his breakup. I’m not one to be good advice, but I’m glad it’s helped him somehow.” He says. I smiled and nodded; I typed in the address to the apartment on the GPS.
“You’re fifteen minutes away from the Winery office,” He says, surprised; I grab my bag off the floor. “Yeah, Eunseo wanted to move to an apartment close to Hansol’s place,” I said. Wonwoo chuckled. “I’m surprised those two aren't married yet.” He says; I laugh. “Mhm, Eunseo talks about marriage with Hansol, but I don't think they're ready yet,” I said. Wonwoo stopped at a red light. “And how does all that talk make you feel?” He asked. I looked at him, dazed. “Sometimes it makes me feel lonely, but I'm okay being single for now; it gives me time to become financially independent,” I said with a chuckle.
“Thinking financially is very impressive and a smart thing. What exactly do you look for in a relationship?” Wonwoo asks as he continues to drive, I look at my lap. “Mhm, I don't know. I know that most relationships aren't exactly like the books I’ve read, but I do have standards and hope someone matches them.” I said with a smile. Wonwoo chuckles. Gosh, he’s adorable when he smiles and laughs. Maybe it's the alcohol in my system but he’s a genuinely charming handsome man.

I bite my lip as I rush inside the hospital and spot Suzy and Wonwoo; they have distressed looks on their faces. I look at Seungcheol, "Thank you for for the ride. You may leave now." I said. Seungcheol raised his brow in confusion; I let a small sigh leave my lips. "You don't need to accompany me to work," I said. Suzy called out my name.
I look at her as she rushes over, "Dr. Park wants you to do this lab; he won't let me or Jihoon do it." Suzy says with worry in her voice. A sigh escapes my lips as I look at Seungcheol; Dr. Park's panicked voice forces me to rush to him. "Y/N! We need you now! It's urgent!" Dr. Park blurs out; he looks freaked out. I look at Wonwoo and Suzy, unsure of what is happening, "Give me five seconds to get into scrubs; Seungcheol, you should go." I said, walking past Wonwoo and heading straight to my office.
I closed the door only for it to be opened and shut again; I turned around to see Seungcheol had followed me into the office. "What are you doing? I have work to do," I stated as I tossed my bag and cell phone on the desk. I walked to the closet and removed my shirt, "What are you doing?" Seungcheol asked. I glanced at him. His back was faced towards me, "Getting into scrubs," I said, stating the obvious.
I let a sigh leave my lips as I tied my tennis shoes, "Look, Seungcheol, there is no reason for you to be here when I finished doing my part of the deal. Now, please go back to Adeline and stop bugging me." I said, grabbing my lab coat and leaving the office. I didn't want to hear him say anything; I bite my lip and hurried down the hallway.
I walk to the room where Suzy and Jihoon stand; I look at them. Screams and shouting could be heard, "Y/N...be careful, please...this patient isn't-" I smiled at Jihoon. "It's okay, I'll be okay," I said, opening the door. Suzy let out a sigh. I see Dr. Park assembling the needle, Yeonjun and San are trying to control the patient. A middle-aged woman was crying hopelessly; I looked at the three police officers who stood by the window watching. I slip on blue gloves and walk to the patient, "Suki, Suki Chwe. I understand that this is a lot, but we were hoping you could cooperate with us. Please, I only want to take a small sample of blood from you to make sure there's nothing wrong." I said.
The patient was enraged and continued to fight off Yeonjun and San; Dr. Park handed me the tourniquet and needle. I gently tie the tourniquet around the patient's arm; Yeonjun is holding an IV in hand. I look at him, "Suki, you will feel a little sting, okay, but I promise it will only last for a second." I said. San removes the cap off the needle before handing it to me; I look at the patient kicking Dr. Park. "Get away! I don't want it! Eomma! I don't want it!" She cried, "Honey you need it; it will help us find out what's wrong," The middle-aged woman said with tears.
"On three, there will a be a sting," I said as I punctured the vein slowly. A pitched scream filled the room. San handed me the test tubes, and I began to collect the specimen; San removed the tourniquet. I hover the gauze over the needle before removing the needle, "We're done, no more." I said. Yeonjun was preparing the IV; I handed Dr. Park the tubes and used the needle. I remove the gloves, and Yeonjun lets out a gasp. It was all too fast. I lifted my hand in defense, and a sharp pain went through my hand. "SUKI!!" The middle-aged woman sobbed, and the police officers intervened, holding the patient down and restraining her to the bed. San pulls me away from the patient, “Oh god are you okay?” San asked as he looked at my bloody hands.
I look at them with a small smile, "I'll be fine just help the patient." I said. Dr. Park rushes over to the patient with a needle, San opens the door for me. I stepped out only to hear gasps, Jihoon and Suzy were shocked. "Come on let's get you wrapped up," Jihoon says as he pulls me to follow him. Suzy was panicking, "This is bad,  Dr. Park should've let me or Jihoon do it." She says. The pain was tolerable, the patient did open the old wound from the birthday night.
"I'm okay, it just needs disinfectant and a wrap," I said. Jihoon scoffs and drags me into the laboratory, and Wonwoo turns around in his seat. “What happened?” He asked, his voice stern, and Jihoon grabbed my hands and placed them under the faucet. A wince escapes my lips as Jihoon pours alcohol to disinfect the wound; Wonwoo was grabbing who knows what he is doing. I looked at the wound; the patient jabbed the IV needle right where I had accidentally cut my palm with glass.
“Wonwoo, she’ll need stitches,” Jihoon says as he grabs a cloth and applies pressure to stop the bleeding. Jihoon pulls me towards Wonwoo as he sets up the table with a cloth. Wonwoo grabs my wrist gently, “You’ll only need three stitches. Good thing the patient didn't drag the sharp object down your palm.” He says, pouring some strange yellow liquid. “How do you know all this?” I asked; Jihoon sighed as he sat with Suzy. “I was a surgeon before diagnostics,” Wonwoo says as he begins to stitch the wound; whatever he poured made the wounded area numb to the pain.
I watch him stitch the wound gently with no struggle, “I don't know what Dr. Park was thinking,” Jihoon says, I look at him. “It wouldn't make a difference, you or Suzy could’ve gotten hurt as well,” I said with a frown. Suzy sighed as she rolled her eyes and rubbed her arms, “Seungcheol is in your office by the way.” Suzy says. I adverted my eyes from them, I wondered what he wants now.

im not one to usually meddle with fanwars and such but i dont fuck around with svt n cheol , and this situation is not even between fandoms its about someones injury thats way more serious than all yall make it out to be, this is about someones health not some music bank voting so stop using ass logic on this, stop dragging other idols into this saying " but he was injured too " " he had surgery too " yes okay he did and i hope nothing but the best for ur idol but learn to understand that the grading is given by skr government and is not displayed on ur regular voting poll,
seungcheol being given a grade 5 has nothing to do with ur idols being given another grade that didnt exempt them from enlisting, and im sure that since he is injured ur idol got some exceptions in the military while serving too, like grade 4 which is civil service, they have exceptions that the higher grades dont have, and it is there to ensure the person doesnt burden themselves,
seungcheol obtained this injury 6 months ago and if u educated urself on a thing or two abt an ACL injury you would realise its a permenant injury, he is still undergoing recovery , his participation in the comeback doesnt state that he wud be bouncing off the fucking walls and if u r going to fight that just know other idols too have been on stage while undergoing recovery with restrictions here and there so they dont overwork themselves so dont bring ur "thats not fair" bullshit here,
and the whole " HYBE is favouring svt " firstly the exemption was only for seungcheol, and the reason is his medical condition which btw, since ur so familiar w the korean government , is stated among the reasons for military exemption , they have u go through a testing and they r the ones grading u, not the damn entertainment company u work for, im rlly sorry if that didnt click for u,
jeonghan is also due enlistment this year and he recently obtained an injury too which had him undergo surgery but there has been no news abt him being exempted from the military so pls know ur facts before u speak, all idols have obtained injuries, they r just on different levels of extreme and they r graded based on alot of factors, like time duration since the injury, that some measly rat on the internet shouldnt be shitting on
if ur wishing that ur idol got graded a military exemption just know that ur basically wishing ur idol got injured so badly that they get exempted from mandatory service... thats disrespectful and so disgusting i hope u realise that..
n yeah thats abt all i had to say here,
wishing a speedy recovery to choi seungcheol and any other idol that has had to go through this / is going through this
no one deserves to be wished on a serious injury that will potentially affect ur career like this

The sound of metal scratching against the carpet filled the silent workroom; I saw Seungkwan getting up and walking to Mingyu’s office. A small sigh leaves my lips as I finish selecting the photos for the billboard and Kim’s Winery feature in SEOUL COMPOSITION magazine; I click submit, making sure it’s mailed to the correct manufacturer.
“Annyeonghaseo? Are you looking for someone?” Camila asked. I lifted my gaze from the computer only to regret it. My first time making eye contact with him, my breath hitched. Deep spheres of brown made my heart pound against my ribcage. His eyes may be brown, but they seemed filled with a strange sadness. My eyes wandered to his features, adsorbing every little detail; his lips are a slightly dark pink. His cupid bow made his lips look full, “Yes, I'm looking for Mr. Kim Mingyu,” His voice was deep. Deep and a tad bit hoarse, it made goosebumps appear on my skin. Wonwoo follows Camila down the hallway that head to Mingyu’s office; Seungkwan steps out, greeting Wonwoo.
I let out a breath of relief; hiccups escaped my lips. I look down at the files. Did Wonwoo cause the hiccups? I bite my lip, preventing them from coming out, “Y/N, are you okay?” Seungkwan asked as he leaned against the desk. I looked at him and nodded, but the hiccups were still here. Seungkwan chuckles, “I’ll go get you some water for the hiccups,” He says with a smile and leaves. My heart was still pounding against my chest as I glanced over at Mingyu’s office; strange…he didn't utter a hello.
Seungkwan returned with a water bottle and a granola bar, “Thank you,” I said with a smile, opening the bottle and taking a sip of the water. “Hey Y/N,” Yuno, one of the members of the Sales Team, walks over to my desk. I look at him and then back at Seungkwan, who seemed surprised. I look at Yuno, “What is it?” I asked. Yuno looks at Seungkwan, “Mr. Boo can you give us a moment?” He asked. Seungkwan gave him a side eye and crossed his arms, “It's okay, it will only be a moment.” I said, looking at him with a small smile. Seungkwan eyed Yuno from head to toe before getting up from his seat and leaving.
I look at Yuno as I set my water bottle next to the pen holder, “What is it?” I asked again. Yuno got awfully closer, and I made sure to keep a distance. “I wanted to know if you want to go on a date with me?” He asked with a smirk; I looked at him perplexed. “A...a date? Why—-me?” I asked, looking confused. Yuno sighs and stands up, “Yeah,” He said, crossing his arms. Mingyu’s office door opens, revealing Wonwoo and Mingyu walking down the hall, talking amongst themselves. I look at Yuno, “So yes or no?” He asked. I still felt confused about what made an employee from the Sales Team come and ask me out.
“What?” I asked; Yuno lets out an annoyed sigh. “Do you want to go on a date, Y/N?” He asked. I felt hopeless in this situation. I look around for Seungkwan only to see him walking over to Wonwoo and Mingyu, who now witness Yuno’s strange little confession. “Y/N, I need a yes or no; I don't have all day,” Yuno says with an irritated tone. I look down at my desk. “I…I—I’m sorry, I'm just confused,” I said. Yuno stepped closer, causing me to get up from the chair. “I’m sorry,” I said, leaving him with pairs of eyes watching.
Some employees were quietly giggling; I walked out of the workroom. I rush up the stairs, wanting to get a breath of fresh air, reaching the rooftop garden. I let out a sigh of annoyance; I pace back and forth, letting my mind erupt with tons of questions. Why did he have to ask that? In front of Wonwoo, Seungkwan, and Mingyu. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and speed-dialed Soonyoung, “Annyeong Y/N,” His cheerful voice made me stop pacing. “Soonie…Do you want to hang out tonight?” I asked. Soonyoung was silent for a minute. “Mhm yeah, but Y/N… you don't need to rush on breaking out of your shell.” He says; I let out a sigh. Shaking my head, knowing he doesn't see me, I said, “It's fine, I want to do this.” I said.
Soonyoung lets out a cheerful laugh, “Okay! Let's hang out,” He says. I smile faintly, “Mhm you can meet me at Kim’s Winery around six-thirty,” I said. Soonyoung seemed to be more excited than I was, “Okay! I’ll see you later.” He said, ending the call before I could say anything else. I let out a small sigh and put my phone away, “Are you okay?” I turned around to see Wonwoo. I forced a smile and nodded, “Mhm,” I said. Although he seemed unconvinced, “I didn't take you as the ‘break hearts’ type of person.” He says with a small smile.
I shake my head, “I'm not,” I said. “I'm confused…why Yuno asked me that,” I said, looking at the tulips; I bite my lip and crouched down. “Confused? I didn't find any of what happened confusing,” Wonwoo chuckles. I removed some of the wilting petals. “It is to me…I never dated anyone.” I said, feeling bashful, “No guy has ever asked me out, and Yuno isn't the kind of guy to ask a girl out just because.” I said. Wonwoo gets to my level, “I see…I’m sorry.” He says. I look at him and shake my head, “It's okay. Besides, Yuno isn't just the guy for me.” I whisper.
Wonwoo laughs, “Mhm, right? He doesn't seem fit to be your first boyfriend.” He whispers. I let a small giggle escape my lips and nodded, “Yeah, I feel bad for leaving him like that. He must feel embarrassed.” I said. Wonwoo sighs and looks at the tulips, “Don't be; you have every right to feel uncomfortable and confused.” He says. I ensured the tulips were okay, “You know Mingyu lets me keep the garden looking fresh and pretty.” I said. I look at Wonwoo; we make eye contact. “I planted the tulips, and he planted the pink roses. Seungkwan planted the orchids, and eventually, we began to plant our favorite flowers.” I said.
Wonwoo smiles, “Tulips are your favorite?” He asked. I bite my lip and nod, “Yeah, along with orchids and roses, but Tulips are my absolute favorite.” I said. Wonwoo nods and looks at the tulips; being up close with him made me realize. He is absolutely breathtaking; he’s gorgeous as if Aphrodite herself created him. Wonwoo has completely made me feel…alive.

A million ways to apologize ran through my mind as I led Y/N up the patio steps, "Your eomma has a lovely garden," Her voice is sweet. I look at her with a small smile as I knock on the red wooden door before opening it. I let Y/N enter first, "Your eomma has a unique taste in decore," She says with a small smile. I nodded and let a small sigh leave my lips as I closed the door. I led her into the living room, where chatter could be heard.
My hand grasped Y/N’a soft hand as Aunt Sekyung sat with elegance radiating off her; Y/N tensed beside me. "Seungcheol, what a surprise to see you here?" Ain't Sekyung spoke, faking a smile; I returned a tight smile. Y/N smiles faintly, "Good morning, Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Choi, how are you?" Her voice made the ball of nerves relax. Eomma smiled brightly as she stood up from the couch, pulling Y/N into a small hug, "Oh, it's so great to see you again Y/N; I'm doing fine as always." Eomma says with a smile as she brushes Y/N’s nose softly. Y/N lets a small giggle leave her soft, pink-tinted lips, "That's good to hear," She says.
I smile as they have their small interaction before Aunt Sekyung clears her throat, "Everyone should be arriving soon," Aunt Sekyung speaks sternly as she gets up from the couch. I look at Eomma and Y/N, who look uncomfortable with Aunt Sekyung's sudden change of heart; I squeeze Y/N’s hand softly. Aunt Sekyung seems to dislikes Y/N; Aunt Sekyung never had a problem with Adeline. Why is it suddenly a problem with Y/N?
I smile sadly at her before following Eomma to the backyard, "Oh wow, this is a very big backyard." Y/N seemed speechless. Eomma's backyard garden was bigger than the front yard; it was like the Choi villa except with more florist scenery. I let go of Y/N’s hand as Eomma gives her a small tour of the garden, "I spend every morning and every afternoon caring for my garden," Eomma says with a smile as she shows Y/N her rose bushes. "Mrs. Choi, it's gorgeous; I see you have sunflowers," Y/N says excitedly. I smile softly as I watch them stroll through the garden; Eomma is smiling more.
Eomma has shown her adoration for Y/N since Chan bragged about her to Eomma; I have never seen her this talkative with someone who isn't Stella. Maybe Eomma should have the opportunity to remain close to Y/N, "Seungcheol you didn't tell me your Eomma loves flowers. I feel terrible for not bringing her a small gift at least," Y/N says with a pout. I chuckle and shake my head, "My Eomma would find your company more of a gift than a vase of flowers." I said, tucking my hands in the pockets of my jeans.
Y/N crosses her arms and tsks, "That's a cheesy thing to say, Mr. Choi." She says with a smirk. I shake my head and laugh; I lean against the doorframe. "A little heads up that it was going to be a garden breakfast could've been nice; I would've worn something else." She says, fiddling with the strings of her hoodie. Y/N wore a dark brown turtle neck with a red checkered plaid skirt with black thigh highs. Her black Doc Martins adding more height than usual made her cute, "You look lovely; there's nothing wrong with your outfit." I said with a smile. Y/N was perplexed, "Okay...where's Choi Seungcheol?" She asked. I furrowed my brows in confusion; Y/N expressed disbelief and dazed.
"What do you mean?" I asked with a chuckle. Y/N gulps softly. "You're being...awfully nice today." Her voice worried, and I stood up straight. "It's weird..." Her voice was soft; I bite my lip and let out a sigh. "Weird? In a good way or bad?" I asked. Y/N shrugged. "It's difficult to tell if you're being genuine or not," She says with a sad smile; I nod in acknowledgment. "I see..." I let out, "Seungcheol, what a surprise. Oh, Y/N great to see you again." Appa says with a smile as he walks past us, greeting Eomma and Aunt Sekyung, "We should join your Eomma and Appa while the other guests arrive," Y/N speaks before I can say anything about last night.
I watch her join Eomma in setting the table while Aunt Sekyung is on an important phone call. My mind begins to recite the apology I've prepared; Uncle Eunho and Aunt Sekyung took spare looks at Y/N. What are those two whispering about?
Eomma sets down the salad bowl, "Daebak, Yah Mirae the food looks nice." Uncle Eunho says. His grin was as fake as Aunt Sekyung's sincerity towards us; Y/N smiled in endearment as Eomma placed small slices of radishes on her plate. "Thank you," Her voice...god it's the sweetest tone; it's filled with so much sincerity and pure kindness. "So Y/N, what is it that you do for a living?" Aunt Sekyung begins her endless questions; Y/N takes a small sip of the fresh strawberry lemonade Eomma always makes during these meals.
"I'm a Phlebotomist technician. I've been doing it for three years already," Y/N says with a grin, her tone proving that she loves her job. Aunt Sekyung didn't utter a word as she sipped her wine, "A medical profession, how lovely. What about your hobbies?" She asked, looking at Y/N with clasped hands. Uncle Eunho seemed impressed by Y/N, "Oh my hobbies? Well, I'm currently working all my time, but I'm in a book club, and I like to learn new recipes to cook in my free time.” Y/N says with a smile. Aunt Sekyung had a blank stare as she waited for something else, “That's all? Well, your life sounds…normal.” Aunt Sekyung was disappointed.
Eomma holds Y/N’s hand and smiles, “Well, I think her normal life is perfect for Seungcheol’s busy lifestyle, don't you think, yeobo?” Eomma asked Appa with a big grin. “If Seungcheol is happy, then it's perfect. If Y/N is happy, there's no need to worry about it being a normal life. Right Eunho?” Appa asked with a smile, looking at Uncle Eunho with a slight smirk. Aunt Sekyung looked irritated by my Eomma and Appa’s encouraging words, Y/N let out a small sigh and smiled. I bite my lip and look at Aunt Sekyung, “Auntie, don't you think it's important that I'm settling down rather than being a problem.” I said.
Y/N’s brown eyes met mine, “You’re right, it is a good thing. I'd rather see news of a wedding from my nephew than scandals about you sleeping with Adeline.” Aunt Sekyung smirks as she sips her wine. Y/N looks down at her plate, “Sekyung…Don’t worry Y/N; Seungcheol seems to have calmed down since you two began dating.” Eomma says with a small laugh. Y/N giggles as she sips on her lemonade; I smile. “Well, I think Y/N is living a great life. Honestly, I find her normal life peaceful.” I said with a smile; Y/N had a small smile.
Aunt Sekyung gets up, excusing herself to answer a phone call. Uncle Eunho follows behind her, “Don't mind Sekyung Y/N; she’s just a bit uptight. Seungcheol, I hope you let her come over whenever she likes.” Eomma says with a smile. Y/N nods and chuckles, “Thank you, Mrs. Choi. I appreciate all the encouragement.” She says. I look at my phone seeing a text from my assistant about Mingyu wanting to have a meet-up with Lee.
“Seungcheol…” Eomma says. I look at her, and Y/N frowns as I put my phone down. “I'm sorry, Eomma,” I say. She nods in acknowledgment, and Y/N begins to thank Eomma and Appa for breakfast. “I really enjoyed the food, Mrs. Choi; it was lovely to see you and Mr. Choi again.” Y/N says with a sad smile. Eomma pulls her into a hug. “I'm so glad to see you again Y/N,” Eomma says. I look at Appa, “Don't apologize for being busy son; business is business and important.” He says with a small smile.
"Mirae I hope you don't mind, but Adeline was in the neighborhood and wanted to stop by." Aunt Sekyung says; Y/N freezes and looks at me. "Seungcheol..." Eomma says with worry as she walks over to Y/N. I look at Aunt Sekyung and Adeline. My jaw clenched at the sight of red hair and green eyes, “Hello, Seungcheol,” Her voice sent shivers down my spine. The ones that made your skin crawl. I looked at Aunt Sekyung, who had a smirk on her red lipstick-stained lips.
“Mrs. Choi, thank you for having me over, but I should get going. I have a shift at the clinic this afternoon,” Y/N smiled as she hugged Eomma one last time before excusing herself. Eomma turns her gaze to me. I nodded and smiled softly. “Thank you, Eomma; I have to go now,” I say, hugging her before walking past Aunt Sekyung and Adeline. I see Y/N walking out the front door. “Seungcheol, we have to talk.” Adeline says as her hand grabs my arm, I look at her. “See you around, Aunt Sekyung,” I said, pulling my arm out of Adeline’s grip. I rushed out the front door.
“Y/N,” I called out as she walked down the steps, “What?” Her voice was filled with annoyance. I look at her; she looks tired and annoyed. “I'm sorry..” I said; judging from the look on her face, she didn't expect to hear that. Y/N uncrossed her arms, “What?” She asked. Her phone goes off before I could repeat what I said. Y/N answers the phone call; I bite my lip and run my hand over my hair. “Seungcheol, I need to get to the clinic. Can you take me there?” She asked. I looked at her for a minute, trying to silence my mind. I nodded, “Yeah, let's go.” I said. Y/N forced a smile as I opened the car door for her, “Thank you.” She says.
I close the door and let a sigh escape my lips, every opportunity I have ends up interrupted.

A sigh of frustration escapes my lips as I cross my arms, watching Joshua pace back and forth, "I'm serious, Y/N. You can just cut off tides with Seungcheol." He says, halting and turning to face me. I look at him, "Stop hurting yourself. Minghao explained what had happened. Be glad I wasn't the one you called..." Joshua says with an angered expression. "Why are you even doing this?" He asked; I bite my lip and rolled my eyes.
"I made a promise to his eomma that I would join them for breakfast, and I'm not going to break that promise," I said, "That's hard to believe Y/N," He says. A knock on the door made Joshua run to it; I grabbed my bag and coat before joining him at the door. "Yeah, Choi Seungcheol," I nudged Joshua in the side. Seungcheol stood there confused; he wore denim jeans, a white tee, and a denim jacket. His black Vans made the unusual outfit stand out more; I looked at him. "Joshua, please make sure to lock up before you leave. I'll see you later." I said, patting him on the shoulder.
I walk out of the apartment, rushing Seungcheol to follow, "Don't do anything stupid, Seungcheol!" Joshua called out. I rolled my eyes as we entered the elevator; I let go of Seungcheol's arm. A sigh escapes my lips as I lean against the wall. Seungcheol was quiet,  surprisingly, since he's usually making remarks. I bite my lip as the elevator stops at the lobby; I step out of the elevator. Seungcheol's strange silence was making my skin crawl and causing uneasiness inside my guts. I glanced at him; he seemed confused and lost in thought.
I spot the familiar black Porsche Cayenne, "Why are you so quiet?" I asked. Seungcheol snaps back to reality; his gaze is soft. "I...did you sleep well?" He asked; I tilted my head lightly. "Mhm," I said as he opened the passenger door. Something about him seemed off, like he was hiding something. I get inside the car, and Seungcheol closes the door. I feel myself become anxious about what his mind is thinking about. I look at the time as Seungcheol starts the car; he doesn't spare another glance or a word. He falls back in silence, in thoughts.
The car ride is quiet. Music can be heard faintly. Seungcheol was quiet and would only make small talk, usually about my work and Joshua’s feud with him. I bite my lip as silence consumes us both, I find it annoying and weird. What’s going through his mind?

I bite my lip as I pace in my room; my mind runs in darkness. With trembling hands, I try to rearrange the bookshelf, hoping it will ease my mind. I had texted Mingyu about feeling unwell and unable to go in today, but the new material will be in his email by lunchtime. Although he assured me to rest, I insisted on working on the new material.
I looked at the new arrangement I made; I felt a sudden loneliness as I continued to arrange and clean the room. I need to keep at ease; my mind shouldn't be going further into the dark side. I bite my lip as I turn the TV on as a distraction, "Eomma! Congratulations!" I noticed the dialogue was familiar. "Oh, honey, wine? You shouldn't have," the scene and the setting is familiar, a mother and daughter sitting on a porch swing watching two little kids playing with a dog. "Eomma, thank you for everything...you did a great job." The script was processed and made it to the commercial for the new wine Kim's Winery will launch.
I wrote the script based on how I think most mothers and daughters would be when having a drink together, a heart-to-heart moment. I guess Mingyu and Minghao liked it that much if it made its debut on TV. I finish fixing the bed and lay on it as the TV plays some movie before my mind can think thunder fills the quiet apartment. The sound of heavy rain pouring outside made me sit up in relief; I grabbed my cardigan and stepped out of my room. Eunseo and Hansol aren't here; they must've left already.
I walked into the living room opening the curtains a little; the rain was always comforting and soothing in ways that made me feel less afraid. I hug myself as I lean against the frame of the balcony door. I’ve grown to find the rain as a comfort. Growing up in a household where I spent days filled with anxiety and fear was a rough patch to get past. Those troubled memories stay in your memory. Tainted in the mind to the point your body has grown to find ways to feel defensive against anything. I look out the window, spotting Eunseo and Hansol running to shelter from the rain.
They look happy; everyone seem satisfied with their lives. The familiar white noise in my ears indicates an episode will start to happen; I bite my lip and close the blinds. My phone was ringing, but I didn't want to answer it; I could feel my heart being squeezed by the emotions. It was getting difficult to breathe steadily, and now hyperventilating was causing my head to feel light. The loudness from outside was getting to me; I rushed into the bedroom, hearing the doorbell ring. I need to be alone; I press my back against the wall by the drawer, feeling hopeless.
My hands were trembling; my body felt static. This episode wasn't the first nor the second. It was now the fifty-episode. I have had these since the age of ten, but I haven't had one recently till today. The lump in my throat was sizing up; the doorbell was getting annoying, along with my phone ringing. It was becoming too much for me that I did what anyone would do when overwhelmed; I buried my face in the palms of my head and scream for two minutes straight. Screaming always helped the episode shorten.
I lift my head, the doorbell ringing had stopped. I let my heart rate fall steady and try to breathe normally. It was warm in the room; I slipped out of my cardigan and removed the long sleeve. I sit on the carpet floor, slipping on a band tee. I crawl to the middle of the room and lay there using my cardigan as a pillow ; I stare at the empty wall. I never took the chance to decorate this room the way Eunseo has her room, fitting the likes and standards of her own. I flinch at the door opening; I sit up quickly fear washing over me. “Y/N??” I furrowed my brows in confusion as Seungkwan was panting and trying to catch his breath.
I look at him, confused, "Seungkwan? How did you get in the apartment?" I asked. Eunseo and Hansol call from the kitchen, "Is she okay?". Realization hits, and I let out a small sigh, "I'm okay," I said. Seungkwan shakes his head, "I heard you screaming, Y/N," He says, stepping inside my room. I forced a smile and nodded; I sit cross-legged. "I know; I was only letting out some pent-up frustration, that's all," I said. Seungkwan kneels in front of me. "You weren't answering your phone," he says; I look at him. "I'm sorry," I said; he sighs and rubs a hand over his face. "Yeah, I was worried something happened," Seungkwan says, his eyes being sincere.
"I'm okay; there's no need to worry," I said. Seungkwan opened his mouth, but no words came out. His eyes were on my arms; I slipped on my cardigan, hiding my arms. “Y/N…” The way my name came out of his lips meant one thing: pity. “Don't—” I felt taken aback as Seungkwan hugged me; I could hear sniffles from him, “I'm sorry…I didn't know…” He whispers. I feel him rub soothing circles on my back, “I never meant to question your past. I just wanted to know more about you, but now I know why you always give short answers.” Seungkwan says. He pulls away from the hug, and I find myself wanting to feel warmth again.
“I… it's okay,” I said. Seungkwan shook his head as he wiped away his tears. “It's not Y/N. I should’ve taken the hint, but I was too oblivious. I sighed and lay back on the floor, “It's not your fault, Seungkwan. I never had people question my life before Seoul or before college.” I said. Seungkwan lies next to me, “You find it strange? Is that why you never got into detail?” He asked. I sigh, “Yes, most people never ask unless they truly care.” I said. “Eunseo and Hansol have asked before, but I always gave them short answers as well,” I said.
Seungkwan turned his head to look at me. “And Soonyoung…he only knows half of it,” I whisper. I look at him, “It's understandable; you have trouble trusting people.” he says. I sighed and shrugged, “My past isn't really important to me; I would rather forget about it than be reminded.” I said. Seungkwan nods, “I understand; I won't question it anymore now that you've given me a reason.” He says. I smile faintly, “I could tell you and hope it could help me forget.” I say. Seungkwan shakes his head, “It's okay, you don't need to.” He says. I sighed.
“It's okay…” I whisper. Seungkwan sighs softly and looks at the ceiling with me. “My parents were never the kind to express their emotions very well. My mom was obsessed with perfection and suffered from bipolar disorder, but she didn't know that. My dad was an alcoholic man who enjoyed gambling; my parents were always at each other’s throats. Not a day went by when they weren't fighting. I was the oldest yet the youngest with so much responsibility, and I have a brother, Dylan. He was four then, and I was eight; it was a family gathering…” I paused and looked at Seungkwan; his eyes were glossy.
“I was eight when my eighteen-year-old cousin told me to play with him,” I said, feeling gross and hopeless; Seungkwan was in tears. “My mom knew, but she did nothing; my dad was too drunk to remember. When I turned ten, I accidentally told the school counselor, who had me go to a therapist, that I thought things would get better, but they got worse .” I said, my gaze never left Seungkwan as he sobbed quietly.
“My mom spent her afternoons teaching me a lesson for consulting ‘our’ problems with a stranger; I had read about self-harm in an online article and thought to myself that maybe numbing myself could prevent me from feeling more pain. Eventually, I began to. My therapist only caught up with what I was doing…Seungkwan I have never once heard someone be diagnosed with so many disorders that day.” I said. Seungkwan turned to look at me; his eyes were watery. “After high school graduation, I decided to run away because I couldn't take it anymore. I don't regret doing it, but I do regret leaving my brother behind.” I whisper.
I kept it short and simple for Seungkwan; I didn't want to get more into detail. “My diagnosis depression disorder, PTSD, bulimia, and anxiety disorder. My life was never easy, but I managed.” I whispered. Seungkwan sits up; I look at him and sit up. “Y/N…” He whispers; I was welcomed by the warmth again. This time, I wrap my arms softy around his torso and sob quietly, “Today was supposed to be my day to relax my mind, but this is better.” I whisper. Seungkwan cries but lets out a small chuckle. .

Scanning each row made my eyes hurt as I adjusted my glasses and looked at the notepad; this book will be difficult to find. I let out a defeated sigh and bite my bottom lip; I look around for an employee as I walk out of the aisle. My nerves were rising as I walked into the thriller section; maybe it's in this aisle.
I scan the first row starting in H, "Having trouble?" I suppress a smile and turn to see the familiar tall figure walking into the aisle. "Something like that," I said with a small smile; Wonwoo chuckled and returned a shy smile. "I only have thirty minutes before the shop closes, so what brings you here at this hour?" I asked, avoiding eye contact out of nervousness.
Wonwoo looks at the books curiously, "Well, it is my day off, and I need a new book." He says, pulling out one of the books off the shelf. I cross my arms and spot an employee but frown upon seeing them busy with a customer; I look at Wonwoo, who is reading the back of the book. "You seem like you're having trouble with something." He says, lifting his gaze from the book; I almost made eye contact with him. "Well, I was trying to look for this book, but I guess the shop doesn't have it in," I said, looking at the notepad.
"It's a Hannibal Lecter novel, and I thought they would have it in this section, but I don't see it," I said with a shy smile. Wonwoo must've decided on the book, seeing he didn't put it back. "What's the title of the book? Maybe it's sorted with the title," He says. I let out a small sigh and felt myself become more shy and nervous. "The Silence of The Lamb by Thomas Harris, and I already tried looking for it by title, but it's no use," I said. Wonwoo smiles and chuckles. "Maybe they have it sorted by author." He says and walks to the next aisle.
I bite my lip, and I go back to looking for it in the thriller section; a tired sigh escapes my lips. I'm tired and sleepy, but I need this book. I look at the next aisle, only to be filled with frustration. I see an employee walk by, but they seemed irritated, "Excuse—" "Found it." Wonwoo's voice interrupted my call for help. I turned to see him walking out of the aisle involving true crime.
I felt a sudden relief wash over me seeing the book cover, and I smiled. "Oh, thank god, I was going to give up a minute ago." I said as Wonwoo walks over, handing me the book, "I'm assuming it's a very interesting book if it had you stressing." He says with a smile. I nod and let a small laugh leave my lips, "It is. I've heard about the movies, but I want to read the book before jumping into the films, you know." I said. Wonwoo nods. "Smart move. Now, what do I get in return for helping you?" He asked with a slight smirk. I felt flustered and hid half of my face behind the book. "Hmm, well, I was planning to go the convenience store that's a block from here. Maybe I'll give you a bowl of ramen and kimbap in return." I said.
Wonwoo fixes his glasses, pushing him up, and smiles faintly. "I was only teasing, but ramen sounds good, especially in this rainy weather." He says as we walk to the front, I nod. "Wait, it's raining." I blurted out and looked out the window that it was pouring hard, "I didn't bring my umbrella," I muttered to myself. I place the book on the counter, "Together?" The cashier asked. "Yes." "No," I look at Wonwoo, "it's okay; I'll pay for the book since you're paying for the ramen." Wonwoo says with a smile. "Uh, I don't know, it's fine. I can—and you're already paying," I said, looking at him and seeing him putting his wallet away.
"It's fine, Y/N; I don't mind paying an extra twelve dollars. Besides, books are essential, and honestly, I don't like the idea of you paying for ramen either, but I respect your boundaries." He says with a smile as he grabs the bag. I give him a genuine smile and let a small laugh leave my lips as we head to the door while thanking the cashier. I bite my lip as I lift the hood of my sweater to shield me from the rain, "Well, walking in the rain isn't that bad," I said with a smile. Wonwoo had opened an umbrella, "What makes you think I'll let you walk in the rain?" He asked.
I look at him, confused, "Come on, Y/N, it's in the middle of December. I'm not a monster that will let you suffer for not being prepared. Besides, the weather is strange nowadays. They say it's supposed to snow tomorrow." Wonwoo says with a smile as he towered over me with the umbrella. How did I not realize that he is taller when up close? I have to tilt my head just slightly to look at him; my height makes me meet Wonwoo at chest level. "Is it? I haven't watched the weather news this morning." I say, feeling flustered at the close proximity.
Wonwoo chuckles, "Lead the way," He says. I let out a small sigh, and we started to walk to the convenience store. Why do I feel so nervous? My cheeks feel hot, "What book did you get?" I asked. "I believe it's called Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six; it's a thriller. I've heard people talk about it." Wonwoo says with a smile. "Have you always liked books? Or did you recently get into them?" I asked; Wonwoo spared a glance. I looked away, "I've spent my life between pages," He says. I smiled and nodded, "I, as Seungkwan says, always have my nose buried in a book." I said. Wonwoo giggles; I smile but notice he is covering his mouth. His ears were slightly red; maybe he felt embarrassed.
I halted as we reached the store, "I apologize if it's not up to your expectations, but ramen is ramen." I said with a small smile. Wonwoo nods as we enter the store, "Oh, Y/N, welcome back," Mrs. Kim says with a warm smile as she places the broom against the wall. I smile and wave at her; Wonwoo closes the umbrella. I walk to the freezers, looking for something sweet to hit the cravings.  I grabbed a bomb pop ice cream tub; I spotted Wonwoo over at the ramen section. I smiled softly as Mrs. Kim began suggesting the best ramen combinations. "I think I'll try the Kimbap ramen,"  Wonwoo says with a small smile. I look at the coffee section in the freezer; I let out a small gasp as my favorite song plays in the back.
I bite my lip and suppress a grin as I continue looking for snacks to eat. "Kiss me once, then kiss me twice..." I whisper as the music continues to play softly. "I decided on the ramen," Wonwoo's voice sends shivers down my spine. I look at him. "Okay, well, I already got what I need," I said with a smile and walked to Mrs. Kim; Wonwoo was waiting for the ramen bowls to finish cooking. "Mmh, Y/N, who's your friend, finally getting out of your bubble, love?" She asks, scanning the items. I smile faintly, "Yeah, I'm trying my best." I say, handing her my card. "Well, you're doing a fine job, hun; he seems like a sweet, handsome young man." Mrs. Kim says with a smirk and hands me my card back. I chuckle lightly.
I sit by the window, watching the rain fall harder than before; I sip on my peach-iced tea, waiting patiently for the ramen. "They're done," Wonwoo says with a small smile; I help him set the bowls down. I feel hungry just by smelling the ramen, "It tastes good; the kimbap will add a kick to it." I said with a smile and stir the noodles with the chopsticks. This felt nice, having someone to talk to about books, eating ramen and just sitting in a comfortable silence.
"So what books do you like the most? The book you got isn't a romance novel rather than a true crime." Wonwoo says with a smile. I look at the kimbap and place a piece on my ramen, “Well, I love anything involving romance, supernatural, horror, and true crime. You can say I like any kind of book except for sci-fi.” I said with a small smile. Wonwoo nods in acknowledgment, “Horror? Nice, what's your favorite movie?” He asked. I smile and take a sip of the iced tea, “Mm, there are many good ones, but I have to say A Nightmare on Elm Street,” I said.
I take a bite of the kimbap, “Do you have a favorite scary movie?” I asked. Wonwoo shakes his head, “Not really, I enjoy any scary movie.” He says, taking a sip of his lemonade.
I look at the time; I'm usually at the apartment by this hour. It feels kinda strange yet nice, "We should hang out again; maybe you could recommend a book." Wonwoo says as he helps clean the table. I tossed the empty bowls in the trash. I smiled shyly and nodded. "Yeah, that sounds nice," I said; the sound of a horn caught our attention. “Here, you’ll need the umbrella more than I do,” Wonwoo says, handing me his umbrella and the paper bag. “It's your umbrella. I'll return it to you; thank you for buying the book even though you didn't have to.” I said.
Wonwoo chuckles as he picked his phone and book, “It's nothing, well I gotta go. Mingyu is waiting, and well, we know how that goes.” He says with a smile. I nodded and waved at him as he left the store. I see Mingyu with a smirk and waves a bye before driving off with Wonwoo. I let a sigh escape my lips as I grabbed my bag, “Goodnight, Mrs. Kim.” I said before leaving the store. I opened the umbrella and began my walk to the apartment; it felt nice talking to Wonwoo.
I had no idea I would have some things in common with him; now that I was able to distract my mind from spiraling into darkness, I'm not sure if I want to let him get close.

I exhaled softly as more guests arrived, filling the villa; Seungcheol still hadn't returned. I bite my lip as Mirae and Don greet guests; I grab another glass of champagne. “Hello, is Seungcheol here?” A shiver ran down my spine as I turned to see a woman straight from the cover of a Vogue magazine, her red hair in a high ponytail. “Who's asking?” I question her, sipping the champagne as we eye each other head to toe. Her red lips turn into a tight smile, “Adeline Kim, and you are?” Her voice was irritating. Adeline tilts her head lightly as she crosses her arms, waiting for me to answer her curiosity.
I chuckle and smile, “Y/N Hong, Seungcheol’s girlfriend. I apologize if I came off rude; as a woman, I'm sure you understand.” I said, extending my hand out to her. Adeline’s upper lip twitches lightly, “Hmm, if your insecurity bothers you, then maybe I’ll understand.” She says with a cocky smirk. I let a laugh escape my lips; her expression switched sour. “Oh no, I'm not insecure; I'm just trying to ensure Seungcheol doesn't get intertwined with troubled people,” I said with a smirk. Adeline lets a stiff laugh leave her lips.
“Y/N, Grandma Geum-joo wants to you, honey.” Mirae says as she hurries over, “Adeline? What are you doing here?” Mirae asked, displeased. I bite my lip and smile at Mirae, “Eomma, Y/N, and I should get going.” Seungcheol said as he walked over to us. “Aww, Seungcheol, but I was getting used to her company already,” Mirae smiles; Seungcheol’s soft eyes darken upon seeing Adeline.
“Hi, Seungcheol,” Her voice was flirtatious; I scoffed and glanced at her. “I completely understand, honey; you want some alone time,” Mirae says with a wink. I smile; Seungcheol looks at his mother with a sharp gaze. “Eomma…please,” He says; I bite my lip and look at him. “Why? Are you not eager to have some alone time?” I ask, letting my tone turn seductive. Seungcheol’s dark eyes meet mine, “Y/N, don't start.” He says, his tone sounding incredibly sexy all of a sudden. Adeline seemed furious as I stood closer to Seungcheol; I sipped the remaining champagne in the glass.
Mirae smiles and nods. “Okay, well, Y/N, I hope to see you for breakfast tomorrow,” Mirae smiles and kisses my cheek before walking over to Don. “You’re tipsy…” Seungcheol mutters as he grabs my arm, “Let's go…now.” His voice sends waves of shock through me. Seungcheol drags me into the villa and out of the hallway; he takes the glass out of my grip, placing it on the table before we walk out the door. I try to free myself from his grip, “Let go of me,” I said, yanking my arm out of his tight grip. Seungcheol halts and exhales sharply, “We were only at the event for an hour; you said that you needed the whole night. Why are you eager to leave already?” I asked, feeling anger rushing through my veins.
“Exactly; I usually stay at these events for an hour.” He says, turning to face me. I bite my lip and shake my head. “No, if you truly want your family to know about your relationship, we would be overstepping our stay,” I argue; Seungcheol scoffs. “Well, you already did your part of the deal,” He said, my hands curling into fists. “You know, maybe your whole underpressure situation isn't your family,” I implied.
Seungcheol had an amused look. “Oh, it's not? Then tell me, tell me what has me so eager and stressed to leave this place.” He says, stepping closer; I close the gap between us. I look him in the eyes, “Adeline Kim,” I let that woman’s name fall out of my lips like knives. The corner of his lip twitches, “You don't know what you're talking about,” He says. I bite my lip and try to suppress my tipsy thoughts, “Of course, I know; your eomma was telling me how that woman damaged you pretty damn good.” I said. Seungcheol scoffs and turns to walk away.
I follow behind him, “Adeline Kim, a lawyer who seems to be the type to leech onto men for her good. Let's see what could possibly be the reason she damaged you, uh, she cheated on you? No, that's not it; she broke off the engagement? No? You cheated? No, that’s not it too? Maybe Adeline—” I let a gasp escape my lips as Seungcheol grabbed me by my shoulders.
My back hitting the door of his car, “Shut up, you know nothing about Adeline. You are so judgmental about everything and everyone. Did you really think I would find you attractive? I only did Chan a favor by meeting his friend and trying to go at least on one stupid date to keep him from pestering me. You are the last woman I would ever find attractive.” His words are so malice and sting like salt being poured into wounds.
His grip was so tight that surely it would bruise the next day, “You know, for a second, I thought that maybe you weren't that arrogant. But I was stupid to believe that; I was so stupid even to do this favor. God, you know, maybe you are right. I am judgemental for good goddamn reasons.” I said pushing him off me. My chest was falling heavily, being under the influence while angry never had the best outcome. I take the heels off, "Since the deal has been done, the other heels and dresses will return to you. I do not want anything," I said. I tossed the heels at his feet, "As for the nails and Jane’s beauty skills, I’ll be sure to pay that back.” I uttered and picked up my purse from the ground.
“Where are you going?” Seungcheol asked, annoyance filling his tone, “Back to my apartment, where else,” I said as I walked out of the gates of the Choi Villa. I sighed and looked through my contacts, “Are you really going to walk under this weather?” Seungcheol called out. I dialed Minghao's number; I picked my pace, wanting to escape Seungcheol. “Hello gorgeous, how’s the event—” I let out a shaky breath, “I need a ride, can you come get me…please,” I let out. “What happened? Where are you? Text me where you are, and I’ll pick you up in less than five minutes.” Minghao says I could hear the background noise fading. I remove the phone from my ear and rapidly text him my current location.
“Y/N! Get in the car! Look, I'm sorry for lashing at you; we’re both under the influence.” Seungcheol says as he slows the speed of his car to match my pace. “Fucking Seungcheol. What did he do?” Minghao says through the phone, “You're not far from where I'm at; you're a minute away.” Minghao said. “No, thank Choi, I'm fine walking,” I said, “Yah! Y/N, can you please get in the car!?” Seungcheol asked. I stop in my tracks, seeing the familiar red Chevy Camaro speeding. My breath hitches as Seungcheol puts the car in park.
“Look, I'm sorry, okay, I was furious…” Seungcheol explains; I look at him, confused. The sound of tires screeching caused us to look at the car that came to a stop, “Yah! Seungcheol! Húndàn!” Minghao cursed. I put my phone in my bag; Seungcheol scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Seungcheol, I did my part of the deal, so now we don't have to worry about anything. You do you, and I do me,” I said, walking over to an angry Minghao. I grabbed his arm before he could get to Seungcheol.
“It's not over, Y/N!” Seungcheol calls out; I look at him. “Don't forget my eomma invited you for breakfast tomorrow morning,” He says. Minghao scoffs. “Húndàn,” Minghao says; I look at him. “Hao,” I said, “Of course I remember, and I plan to complete the promise I made to your eomma,” I said. Seungcheol sighs and nods, “Alright then, I guess it's done.” He says I nodded. Seungcheol gets inside his car as I let go of Minghao’s arm; they glare at each other before Seungcheol drives off.
I sighed in relief and rested my head on Minghao’s shoulder, “Are you okay?” He asks. “I guess so; ugh, why did I agree to do him a favor, Hao? Why am I so stupid?” I cry; Minghao wraps his arms around me.
“What did he do? Did her hurt you?” He asked; I nodded my head. “But come on, he was drinking, and I saw, too, we got into a heated argument.” I whisper, “Honestly, I provoked him,” I said. Minghao looked furious, “He dared to lay a hand on you?! Yah Húndàn” Minghao says as he holds me closer. “No, he didn't hurt me physically, Hao. His words were so harsh, and ugh, I wanted to slap him.” I cry.
Minghao sighs and rubs my back, “Come on, let's get you home,” He says as he opens the passenger door for me. “You look exhausted, and not to mention you reek of alcohol,” Minghao says with a smile; I giggle. “I know, I kinda got carried away with the champagne,” I said, getting inside the car. I let out a sigh as I fastened the seatbelt; Minghao is the one friend I can truly trust with things like this eventful night. He’s always been there for nights like these, and I hope tonight is the last.
