Smithereens | L. Williamson
âAre you sure about this?â You asked for what felt the thousandth time today.
Leah just smiled as she let out a small huff.
âYes, Iâve told you a dozen times.â
The pair of you were sat in your London apartment, sitting on the sofa watching whatever was on the TV when you fell into conversation out of sheer boredom. The topics began with you asking your girlfriend about how her training went, and she told you all about the antics the Arsenal women got up to that day. You chuckled at Leahâs retelling of events, often knowing she wasnât exaggerating when it came to some of the stuff that actually happened.
But then the conversation flowed to you, the defender asking about your day. Sighing, you told her you were nervous for your upcoming tour. After having just released your third album a while ago, it had already been a hit and of course with that, meant a tour was bound to happen. Now the time was finally here where you would be playing a sold-out O2 in London to an insane number of people. This was easily the biggest night of your life so far, and the most anxiety inducing. Fame for the pair of you just seemed to grow and grow over the past couple of years, which meant the microscope was placed awfully close on your relationship. People donât realise, but that kind of pressure has a tendency to cause cracks in a relationship.
âSeriously? Because I can totally pull out-â Continuing your rambling, Leah shifted her body on the furniture to fully face you and slap her hand over your mouth.
âYou done?â She quirked a brow and you nodded, signalling for her to remove her hand before you undoubtedly did something gross and licked it. âI mean it, Y/N. You wonât back out because it isnât a big deal. Itâs a bunch of songs you wrote during a bad time and people love them! You canât disappoint them and not go out there to give them their moneyâs worth.â
Sinking into the sofa a little more, you shifted your gaze to look out of the window. Of course, Leah had told you she didnât mind you singing songs you wrote during your breakup, but it was tough to believe it. The last thing you wanted to do was upset her, and you had already done that enough before.
âI know, but sometimes thereâs more to this than just what other people think.â You began. âI promised you that I would never prioritise anything over our relationship again, and I donât want me bringing up the past to ruin things.â
You finally turned to look at the blonde who had obviously been watching you the whole time. Her eyes scanned over your face before finally catching your gaze.
âThis isnât bringing up the past. You got your feelings out, and turned it into something amazing.â Leah told you, her hand reaching out and grabbing your own. Which was a nice change from slapping you over the mouth to shut you up. âIâm not gonna change the way I feel for you because youâre out performing songs you wrote during our breakup. Hell, Iâve heard them a dozen times before!â
âBut you cried when you did!â You answered back, a playful lilt to your tone, which caused Leah to crack a smile. She closed her eyes and shook her head slightly.
âYeah because you wrote a fucking album about me, Y/N. An incredibly beautiful one at that.â
âBut it was about our breakup.â
âItâs not like you called me a bitch or slagged me off. Did you forget what you wrote?â Leah quizzed, her tone now a lot more quiet and serious as she asked you that last question.
You fell silent for a brief moment, remembering the months you spent alone, without the love of your life. It was one of the hardest things youâve ever been through, knowing that she wasnât here anymore and there was a good chance she never would be. So you did what you do best, and wrote it all down straight from the heart. Initially you had no intentions of ever doing anything with those songs, since there was only a few and it was so personal, but the more you thought about it, and the more you realised the likelihood was that Leah had moved on; that maybe you should release the songs as an album. This is what songwriters were supposed to do, write something real people could relate to, and nothing is more relatable than heartbreak. Sure, it makes up 90% of the songs on the radio, but this was way more personal than that.
There had always been speculation about your relationship with Leah. About how you guys met, whether it was strictly platonic or not, but neither of you ever confirmed it because you never felt like you needed to. You werenât exactly hiding, but you werenât broadcasting it either. But with Leahâs win at the Euroâs and your success as a music artist, people were starting to get too involved with your relationship.
You and Leah had been together for two years until the breakup, which happened weeks after Englandâs European win, and it tore you up inside. Still in contact with a few of your mutual friends, like Katie McCabe, who had informed you completely by accident that Leah had moved on. The news blew your heart to smithereens, but you couldnât find it in yourself to be angry. You gave up on that relationship because you were afraid it would be too difficult to maintain, since both of your jobs took you to opposite sides of the world. Leah didnât exactly fight for you either, but it was safe to say you were the one to put the final nail in the coffin of your romance.
Months and months with nothing from you, fans began to speculate on the breakup, but nothing could be confirmed. Truth was you had basically shut yourself off from the outside world and moved to Spain. You spent your time writing, and the outcome was âSmithereensâ. The rather vague yet on the nose title felt right, and upon reflection and some self-healing, you had presented it to your record label and it was ready to release.
Until one night you got a text from a number you deleted.
I miss you.
Read 11:34PM
The phone practically fell from your hands. All of the feelings you thought you had overcome and healed from came flooding back like a tsunami. It changed everything. But you and Leah talked things out, with the English defender revealing that she had entered a relationship not long after the two of you had broken up, but it never felt right. So, Leah took a stab in the dark, and texted you and she still claims to this day it was the best decision she ever made. You both promised eachother it would be different this time around, that there wouldnât be anything above your relationship, and you would work harder to maintain it. However, there was one small cog in the works that threatened to rip the rug out from underneath your feet.
The album.
In a frenzy in your Spanish home one night, you revealed what you had written and that the label planned to release it next week. You were on the verge of tears, thinking Leah would hate you. Thinking that you were trying to profit off the misfortune that befell your relationship. But instead, she calmly asked to listen to it, and with some convincing, you let her. Â
In your home studio, you let the songs play out. Anxiously sitting in the corner, studying her every movement and facial expression as she listened to the melodies, your leg bounced restlessly, praying to whatever higher power that she wouldnât storm out.
But she didnât. In fact, she listened to the whole thing without a single word. As the last beats of the final song played out, you got up and turned the system off as Leah finally looked at you. Her eyes glistened as tears began to pool in her eyes. Your instincts kicked in and you rushed over to hold her, letting her emotions out on your shoulder as you held her tightly. Finally pulling away, she wiped her eyes with the sleeve of her hoodie and spoke:
âIâm so sorry I made you feel this way.â Her voice cracked, and you frowned, shaking your head.
âNo, no. You have nothing to apologise for. At all.â You told her sternly, chasing eye contact with her before you got it, finally locking her gaze. âThis was my fault. I didnât fight hard enough for us. This album, these songsâŠtheyâre the punishments for my own bad choices. I- I just need you to know that, okay?â
Leah nodded and slipped her cool hands up to your warm cheeks before pulling you into a kiss.
It had been a good few months since that moment, nearly a year. Leah could finally listen to the album now without crying, but still, you were worried that singing these sentimental songs to a live audience would reopen old wounds.
The night was finally here, and you were doing a soundcheck on stage in the O2 before the opening night of your show. The venue was empty, some security getting ready to put up safety rails knowing how crazy some fans could be, some sound techs tampering with lights.
You were instructed to play through the set as a warmup for the actual thing, and that wouldnât have been a problem if the girl you had written the damn songs about wasnât right in front of you, sitting at the end of the stage.
âYâokay?â The blonde asked as you walked over to her, microphone in hand, sitting down beside her as your legs dangled from the edge of the stage.
âNervous, a little more than usual.â You admitted with a huff, toying with the mic in your hands. You were only dressed in shorts and an oversized hoodie right now, whereas Leah was fully dressed in tight fitting trousers, complimenting black boots, a beige top and leather jacket.
âYouâll be fine.â Leah nudged your arm with her elbow.
âOh, I know that.â You teased back, cockily, which earned you an eye roll. âItâs just weird singing about a breakup with a girl when sheâs watching you from the side of the stage.â Leah let out a laugh at that, but before she could launch into a rant about how it was all in the past, you pressed your lips against her own, savouring the moment of having the love of your life sat on the stage you would sing your heart out on.
âY/N! Do you wanna do a test run of one of the songs?â One of the event technicians called to you, ruining the sweet kiss you shared with Leah. You both pulled apart, now sporting a rather irritated grin at being interrupted, to which Leah smirked, her eyes wandering elsewhere to avoid bursting out laughing.
âSure.â You shrugged. Pushing yourself up, you walked over to the tech and picked one of the songs. Before you made your decision, you looked at Leah, who was still gazing out into the empty arena, before selecting one you think would be best.
The speakers made some strange noises, like they were being turned on, and Leah turned around.
âHang on, dickhead! I need to move.â Leah shouted, but you shook your head.
âStay right there or youâll ruin it.â You instructed, and the song began to play.
Leah swore she was about to get up anyway, swivelling around to stand up on the stage, but the song you had chosen left her stuck in her spot. You smirked devilishly, knowing that it was a good choice, her favourite. Clearing your throat, the first verse began.
Swear I couldn't sleep a wink last night
No point in turning off the lights
Not the same without your head on my shoulders
Growing pains, but I don't wanna get older
Almost like we left it all on read
As you sang, you took several steps closer to where she was sat, not daring to take your eyes off the girl you were practically serenading in this empty arena. Â
Couple feelings never laid to rest
Didn't know that the party was over
And it's true that I need you, get closer
Leah had heard this song plenty of times, but hearing you sing it in person, in front of her was totally different. This was about her, for her. Your steps had finally taken you close enough to her, where you basically towering over her.
Burning photos, had to learn to let go, whoa
I used to weep
Somebody in another skin (another skin)
I heard that you're happy without me
And I hope it's true (I hope, I hope it's true)
You took the small break in the song as opportunity to sit down in front of her. A deep breath was let out before the next lines, knowing they were the most crushing to write.
It kills me a little, that's okay
'Cause I'd die for you
You know I'd still die for you
It was a strange feeling, singing a song about watching the love of your life move on with someone else, knowing there was nothing you could do about it.
I hope you're getting everything you needed (needed)
Find the puzzle piece and feel completed (completed)
Just wanted you to know every reason
Hope you really know that I mean that
Couldn't see the forest from the trees
The only time we speak is in my dreams
You never had any ill-will toward Leah and her at the time partner, since you had no right to be. Despite how much it hurt, you would love her even if she wasnât yours, and do anything for her to be happy, even if it meant letting you go.
Burning photos, had to learn to let go
I used to weep
Somebody in another skin (another skin)
I heard that you're happy without me
And I hope it's true (I hope, I hope it's true)
Your free hand reached out and shifted to tuck a stray piece of Leahâs hair that had fallen out from behind her ear, studying her eyes as the once again welled with tears.
It kills me a little, that's okay
You sang the last few lines to her, like there was no one else in the room but you two. You needed her to know that no matter what had happened, you still loved her. You always would. She had left an irremovable mark on your heart that would follow you forever.
'Cause I'd die for you
You know I'd still die for you
The song trailed off, and once again, like the first time she had heard it, tears began to flow.
âYou promised you wouldnât cry!â You complained, falling back dramatically as you switched off the mic and dropped it to the side. Lying on your back, you heard Leah laugh and sniffle, before a familiar warm body collapsed on top of you, wrapping arms around your side.
âI canât believe you wrote that for me.â She whispered in your ear, allowing you to put your hands on her back and hold her close on the stage.
âI wrote several for you, in case you forgot.â You chimed in, getting a slap on the head for your comment. âIâm kidding.â
You both sat up, but this time with Leah basically sat on your lap. Her arms around your neck, yours placed on her waist.
âI love you. Always have, always will.â
âI love you too. Always have, always will.â
A/N: sorry for being gone, and also not my usual marvel post. they are currently in the works, but i wanted to branch out a little.

Monster | W. Maximoff

Wanda Maximoff x Fem!Symbiote!Reader

âWanda! Come on, please!â
Yelling was pointless, and you looked like a total crazy person shouting at a house in the dark, but here you were.
There came no reply to your pleads to talk, and eventually you were going to have to give in and let Wanda have the space she had requested. But you wanted to show her you werenât going to give up that easily, that she meant more to you than some stupid fear.
âLet me out! I will get us back inside.â Khaos spoke in your ear, and you shook your head, frowning.
âThereâs no point. Sheâs pissed and wants space.â You sighed, letting your gaze fall to the floor. âWeâll try again tomorrow.â
Your symbiote chuntered in your ear, some expletives thrown around, but you had learned to ignore the mumblings and berating that often came from the alien whenever she disagreed with you. Beginning to move away from what was your home, but not for tonight, your feet carried you wherever they ended up. Hopefully at a bar, but you knew that wasnât going to help you get back into your wifeâs good books.
It was a stupid disagreement. Something you wished you had never even argued about, but it was bound to happen eventually.
Feeling cold and a little bit sorry for yourself, you had no idea where to go, especially not this time of night. Until Khaos had an idea.
âLet us go to the Russianâs apartment. She will know what to do.â She told you, and to be honest, it seemed like a solid idea. You knew what awaited you, which made you cringe a little bit. A lot of shouting, calling you an idiot which you already knew you were. But Natasha was smart, life smart. She would know how to approach this best. At least you hoped she had something more for you than a Russian rant.
Natashaâs apartment remained in a fancy part of Manhattan, so walking from the suburbs would take you a long time. Khaos offered to take you there faster, to which you initially denied, not wanting to draw more attention to yourself. But you conceded, letting the symbiote overtake your body, and clamber to the rooftops and take you to Natashaâs place.
It was far quicker letting Khaos clamber around and throw herself from rooftop to rooftop. You ended up outside Natâs apartment, Khaos clinging to the fire escape outside her large window.
Before Khaos could give back over control, a body walked past the window, one neither of you recognised. The woman noticed the large tar like figure snarling outside the window, and screamed in fear.
Panic overtook you, and you demanded Khaos retreat, which she did. But before you were stood as yourself on fire escape, the woman was gone, possibly rushing off to warn Natasha about the alien outside her window. You rolled your eyes, huffing before pushing the window up and letting yourself in.
âI swear to God, Yelena! Right outside that window!â The same voice you heard scream began retelling as three women came into the living room of the large apartment, a smirk displayed on both Natasha and her sister, Yelenaâs face.
âKate, thatâs just Y/N and Khaos, relax.â Yelena soothed in her thick Russian accent, clearly finding the whole thing quite amusing. The âKateâ girl was clearly still shaken up from seeing a gigantic monster on the balcony and now a woman stood in front of them.
âUh, hi?â You tried to offer somewhat of a greeting in an attempt to calm her down, but she straight up looked ready to pass out.
âA phone call wouldâve been nice, L/N.â Natasha surmised as she folded her arms. âProbably wouldâve saved Kate here a heart attack.â
You looked back at Kate again, who was still trying to regain control of her breathing as she stared at you in a total state of confusion.
âI- but you were- and now youâre-â Kate tried to speak, but it was all rambling.
You felt bad, which wasnât great on top of what you were already feeling.
âI have a symbiote. That was Khaos.â You explained, gesturing back to the window lazily with your thumb. âAnd Iâm Y/N. We sorta share a body.â You gestured back to yourself with a nervous chuckle, hoping to lighten the mood.
Kate was still in shock, so Yelena wrapped an arm around the girl before guiding her to the couch. âCâmon, Kate. Letâs sit down and breathe like a normal person.â
You and Natasha watched as the two sat down on the couch, already lost in your own discussion which Khaos could hear was about the two of you.
âScaring people is fun. Halloween will be great this year.â Khaos chuckled deeply, but the thought of Halloween made you think of Wanda, then kids, then the argument. Your mood quickly fell again, which didnât go unnoticed by the redhead across the room from you.
âSo, asshole. Other than scaring my sisterâs girlfriend to death and breaking into my place, to what do I owe the pleasure?â Natasha cocked her head the same way your wife did.
You sighed.
âI kinda need a place to stay.â
âOh my God.â
âWhat did you do now?â
A chorus of complaints came from both of the Romanoff sisters, and Khaos laughed internally, making you wince at the volume.
âI- I just⊠we had a disagreement.â You told her, ignoring Yelena and her unhelpful commentary that was most likely going to occur.
Natasha shook her head, before taking you into the kitchen where she made you both a hot drink, gesturing for you to sit down on the stool by the island.
âTalk to me. What did you guys argue about?â Natashaâs immediate first reaction was to joke about the situation since you had a history of being somewhat of an idiot. But you and Wanda rarely argued, and when you did, it was usually serious. So, she approached this one with care, saving the teasing for later. Â
You rested your elbows on the counter, putting your head in your hands as you rubbed your eyes.
âWe were talking, just about likeâŠlife. And, well, Wanda mentioned about having kids.â You began slowly, and Natasha nodded, already sensing where this was going. âI told her I didnât want to have kids.â
âY/N!â Natasha yelled, surprised but not at all surprised.
âI know! I know.â
Natasha placed her palms on the counter, leaning forward slightly, trying to regain your eye contact.
âYou know Wandaâs always wanted kids. You knew that when you married her. Whatâs going on?â Natasha asked you softly. It was an unusual tone to come from her, but when it involved her best friends, she would do anything to help. But first she needed to understand.
"I lied. To her. I want kids, I want that with her, but.â You trailed off again. âI mean, I canât. I canât be a parent.â
Before Natasha could interject, you exploded. Your emotions bubbled to the top, and Khaos was being unusually quiet.
âI canât be a parent! I share this fucking body with an oversized alien with a mouth big enough to swallow a tank! Iâm not fit to be a parent anymore, least of all for the family that Wanda wants. Khaos is a monster, and so am I."
âI am not a monster. I am a symbiote.â
âA parasite.â You snapped back to the voice in your head. It was misdirected anger, but you were feeling a lot right now.
Natasha took a deep breath, looking around the room briefly before speaking up again. Part of you hoped that Yelena wasnât listening in, despite your little outburst. She was not as socially trained as her sister, and would absolutely find a way to take the piss out of you, especially since you nearly stopped her girlfriendâs heart with that little window jumpscare.
âY/N, look at me.â Nat demanded, and you were not one to disobey a scary Russian ex-spy. âJust because you have a symbiote does not mean your any less able to be a parent. I mean, look at Bruce for fucks sake! He has a kid! But the bonus you have is that you get to be a parent with Wanda. If there was anyone to do something as incredible as having kids with, it would be with her.â
âAre you hitting on my wife?â You tried to joke, but your voice broke and betrayed you.
âShut it.â She snapped, and your half smile dropped. âDonât throw away a dream you both have because of your own insecurities. I mean, I know Khaos would never do anything to endanger anyone. Sheâs a protector. Sheâs protected you, me, Wanda, the whole team! Why would that change if you started a family? You just get to be the cool parents with superpowers and an extra helping alien-hand.â
Natasha made a good point, unsurprisingly so. She was always good with words one on one.
âSpare room is free. Donât complain if you hear Yelena and Kate going at it. I put up with living next to you and Wanda in the compound for years.â Natasha told you all at once. Moving around the counter, she took her drink and patted your shoulder as she went to re-join the other girls in the living room.
âWhy did you not talk to me?â Khaos asked you, and you let out a sigh.
âBecause! I- was parenting ever on your to do list? Probably not!â You yelled exasperatedly. But the symbiote growled in your ear.
âOf course it was not! But, that was life before we met Wanda. She is our everything, and I would do anything to make her happy, including eating that girl in the other room-â The symbiote began to ramble, but you whacked the side of your head in an attempt to shut her up.
âDude!â
âI was kidding! MyâŠmission has changed. I protect you and Wanda, including any demon spawn you may have.â
âThat was a weirdly nice sentiment, K.â You smirked, the alien humming in approval. âFuck, I really messed up.
âYouâd be surprised what you can achieve from talking.â The symbiote mocked.
âYou literally eat people. Shut up.â You grumbled, before pushing yourself up from the island and treading down the hallway to Natashaâs spare room. You pulled your phone from your back pocket as you reached the room, opening your messages to the thread with Wanda. Hesitating slightly, beginning to wonder if texting her was even a good idea and what you would even say to her began to run through your head.
âWeâre married, you knew I wanted this! We wanted this!â Wanda yelled at you from across the bedroom.
âI know! But- I didnât consider the whole, yâknow, me and Khaos thing! I married you because I loved you, Wanda.â You tried, but the witch just rolled her eyes, growling.
âYou also married us for a future together, Y/N. Last time we spoke, that included having a family and Khaos was very much around for that conversation.â Wanda told you, and you saw the anger growing in her eyes with the flicker of red in her irises.
âShe wasnât exactly talkative during that conversation, back then she was only focused on eating HYDRA agents!â You screamed back. Clearly, the two of you were clearly getting nowhere, and Wanda was losing her patience.
âThe lack of communication between you and your symbiote is not my fault!â
âI never said it was!â
âBut here I am, suffering the fallout for it because youâre too afraid! You and I both know that Khaos would never hurt anyone, not anymore. Retirement was something I wanted for both of us, and I supported your decision to stay on call for the Avengers-â
â-so this is about me working?â You asked, partially to take the heat of off you.
âYouâre being a dick, Y/N.â Khaos chimed in. She was a lot more chilled out now, having begun to settle into a non-violent lifestyle.
âNo, itâs not! This is about us! I want this with you, but you donât want this with me.â Wandaâs tone went calm, but still held venom. âJust, get out. I donât want to talk to you right now.â
âI have to suffer for this oneâs idiocy as well?!â
âWanda-â
âGet out!â
Yeah, things did not end well.
Writing a big, long paragraph about how sorry you were would mean nothing to Wanda. Actions spoke louder than words, and some half-assed texted apology was not the way to go about making amends with your wife.
So you settled for something straight from the heart.
[Wands <3]
I love you
Delivered 11:49PM
You were surprised when Khaos quickly took control of your hands, her tar-like hands beginning to type on the phone screen.
We love you.
Delivered 11:50PM
âNice touch, Khaos.â
You placed your phone face down on the nightstand, shredding your shirt and kicking off your shoes and socks, slightly thankful you were wearing sweatpants. Getting sleep tonight would not be easy, but with every minute that passed would be a minute closer to seeing Wanda again.
Staring at the dark ceiling, you felt stupider than ever for what you said. You did marry Wanda because you loved her, but you married her for everything else that came with loving her, including having a family. You wanted it, but your fear had held you back. But here it was, the fear itself telling you there was nothing to worry about. Khaos was right, she was here to protect you and your family, not harm it.
You just wanted Wanda back. Sleeping in a bed without her was wrong, it felt wrong.
âKhaos! Put me down!â Wanda squealed with laughter as Khaos tossed her over her shoulder, leaving the witch at least ten feet off the ground.
âThe louder you scream, the higher you go, Wanda!â Khaos roared back playfully, grabbing her figure, and swinging her around the living room of the compound. It was empty, and Khaos had taken advantage to play around with Wanda.
âKhaos, dude youâre gonna make her sick!â You warned from the inside.
âShe is an all powerful witch! Wanda can handle some horseplay!â Khaos ignored your warning, and you smirked internally at their bond. Wanda loved Khaos, her more playful side and less eating-brains side.
Eventually Khaos put Wanda down, who stumbled slightly as the blood rushed from her head. Khaos retreated back into your body, leaving you stood in front of your girlfriend with a goofy smile on your face.
âKhaos will be plenty of fun when we have kids.â Wanda commented half-heartedly, still catching her breath.
âKids?â Khaos spluttered.
âWe arenât even married yet.â You smirked, slipping your hands around Wandaâs waist.
âYet. Weâve got all of that to come.â Wanda smiled up at you, pressing a kiss to the side of your mouth.
âMhm. I canât wait.â You agreed, sealing it with a kiss.
Those were better days, but it only reinforced that Wanda was right. You did want all of that, and it was your fault for not talking to Khaos sooner.
You had only hoped that Wanda would give you a second chance.
The sound of yelling in Russian awoke you. The sweet symphony of two sisters arguing was your alarm clock that morning, and it made you want to get out of there even faster. Pulling on your shirt and shoes, you dashed into kitchen to kiss Natasha on the cheek, slap Yelena on the back of the head and mumble a sorry to Kate before dashing out of the window like a crazy person.
âThanks guys!â You yelled back as Khaos took over your body and began dashing through the city, building to building.
âShe is such an ass.â Yelena grumbled, rubbing her head as the three women stared in the direction of the now open window.
âYeah, she is.â Natasha mused.
It didnât take you long to arrive back to your shared home, Khaos retreating and allowing you control back. You straightened yourself out, brushing off some dust on your shirt before sheepishly knocking the door. Well, you were about to when the door opened as you raised your hand to knock.
âOh, um, hi.â You were greeted with a red-eyed Wanda.
âHey.â She almost whispered back, your heart breaking slightly as you heard the strain in her voice.
âLook, I just-â You tried to talk, but instead Wanda just grabbed your arm, yanking you inside the house and slamming the door behind you. Leaving you well and truly trapped between her and the door.
âTalk in here. Instead of, yâknow, screaming in the street like a crazy person.â Wanda scolded, despite her initial intent to be playful. You felt shame wash over you, and Wanda mustâve noticed because her gazed softened.
âWanda. Look, Iâm sorry. I know, I know thatâs a lame fucking starting point, but itâs true. Iâm sorry. Iâm a coward for hiding behind my own fear because, now that weâre married itâs real! Having kids is an actuality, and Iâm scared. Partially because of Khaos, but because of myself, too. I have no idea what Iâm doing, and Iâm afraid that somewhere down the line one of us is gonna lose control and either of us could put our child in danger.â You began rambling, but Wanda let you continue. âI would never forgive myself if something happened. I know you wouldnât either, so⊠it was easier to run from the problem. Wanda, I love you. More than anything, and I know that Khaos does too. Thatâs enough for me- us. As scary as having kids is, I donât care, because I get to do it with you. I get to do all of that with you! The most intelligent, beautiful, loving woman in the world! We fought fucking aliens together; we can raise a baby. I donât care what we do, I just want to do it with you.â
Wanda didnât say anything, but the trembling of her bottom lip and the pooling of tears in her eyes was enough of a tell that you either did a really good or bad job.
âWands?â You asked after another beat of silence, before she grabbed either side of your shirt, balling it between her fists and pulling you in for a kiss. She slammed her lips against yours, feeling her hots tears fall upon your own cheeks. It was seamless, like nothing had ever happened with the way you deepened the kiss and slipped your hands on her waist.
Wanda sniffled slightly pulling back from the kiss, but still leaning her forehead against yours.
âYou stupid, stupid idiot.â Wanda huffed against you, making you both chuckle. âI really love you. And I canât wait to do all of this with you, too.â
A growl left your body that certainly wasnât yours.
âSorry, both of you.â Wanda corrected herself, which appeased the alien within you. âI love you.â
âWe love you too.â You whispered back.
âDonât do that again, you fucking ass.â The witch pushed you away, letting go of your shirt.
âYeah, fucking ass.â
âKhaos, lay off, man!â

Thank you????!!! So glad you enjoyed, youâll definitely be seeing more of Khaos!!
Total Khaos | W. Maximoff
YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO REPOST MY WORK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
Summary: You and Wanda had been dating for a little while, but the witch was becoming a little impatient about meeting a certain friend of yours.
Wanda Maximoff x Fem!Symbiote!Reader
Main Masterlist
WC: 2710 - Based on request 'I'm sorry you had to see me like that'.
TW: None really, mentions of violence and eating people, slight ass grab.
You and Wanda had been dating for a few months now, and you were still relatively new to the team. So, Wanda and the rest of the Avengers were still getting to know you a bit, but it felt easier with the Sokovian.
She had similar life experiences to you; the pain and suffering you had both endured had allowed you to both connect emotionally and develop a relationship. In reality, you knew from the moment you laid eyes on her she was bound to find a way into your heart eventually, her deep green eyes and luxuriously silky brown hair in contrast to her light milky skin, you were completely enamoured.
Unfortunately, so was Khaos.
See, you were a two for one deal. What appeared to most was just you, but you also happened to co-habit your body with a symbiote named Khaos. A relative of Venom, you were helping to clean up the mess that was caused in San Francisco when you and the symbiote youâve come to love/hate met.
Since then, you had both been on the run from the laboratory that had once housed the alien, until the Avengers found you and offered you sanctuary and a job. But because you were new, you had yet to go out on your first mission, and only some of the team actually knew of your âconditionâ.
Wanda did not.
She had heard, but had never met your slimy companion, as you had warned Khaos to stay away until you felt ready for the two to meet. You were afraid that your overly enthusiastic and violent friend would scare your new girlfriend away, and after everything you had been through in your life, that was the last thing you wanted to happen.
However, you were quite unaware of just how keen Wanda was to see your powers. It seemed as though everyone but her had seen your abilities, and she was feeling somewhat left out and untrusted. She had even brought it up to you, but you had assured her that it was nothing to do with her and that it was entirely Khaos you were concerned with, to which the symbiote growled in your ear.
You and Khaos had quite the odd relationship, but you had come to respect each other. Therefore, Khaos was understanding of your want to keep her away from Wanda, but she too was growing tiresome. It seemed that it was only you wanting to keep the pair from meeting.
âWhy is it even important?â You asked playfully, only for Wanda to groan.
The pair of you were sparring in the gym, having been assigned partners for the day. The room itself was empty and relatively quiet, aside from the echoes of your conversation and the punches Wanda landed on the punching bag that you were holding for her.
âBecause! Itâs a part of you and I feel like youâre hiding it from me!â Wanda told you, somewhat breathlessly as she halted her assault on the bag. You couldnât tell, but Wanda was getting pretty frustrated, as was your roommate.
âYes! She is right! Stop hiding me from her. I promise, she will love me!â The symbiote yelled in your head, and you squinted at the volume of her voice.
âIâm not hiding her from you, Wanda! Iâm just-â You trailed off, loosening your grip on the bag and letting your gaze fall to the ground from your girlfriend.
â-Youâre what?â Wanda asked, desperate to get some sort of real answer from you.
âI donât know!â You said exasperatedly, throwing your arms up in the air. You did feel guilty for hiding Khaos from Wanda. âIâm worried you might see the real us and it mightâŠscare you off?â
Wandaâs face softened at your confession, hearing you trail off and a sense of vulnerability in your tone. She dropped her stance and stepped close to you.
âY/N, baby. Nothing could ever scare me away from you.â Wanda told you tenderly. Despite only being together for a few months, it was clear you two were meant for each other. You had yet to drop the big âLâ bomb, but it was looming. But this whole âKhaos meeting Wandaâ thing had put a little dampener on your relationship as of late. âI know youâre afraid, but please, I meant what I said when we started dating; I want all of you.â
You couldnât help but smile at her confession, getting somewhat shy under the womanâs gaze and feeling your cheeks flush. You reached down and grabbed at Wandaâs wrapped hands, taking them into your own and squeezing gently. Maybe it is time for Wanda to see all of you, and Khaos wasnât that bad, right?
âI am very polite!â Khaos tried to help sway you over. âI promise I will behave.â
âMaybe Iâll let Khaos meet you, but Iâm making sure she behaves.â You told Wanda, and she smiled at the admission. âShe canât be that bad-â
As you were finally thinking it would be a good idea, the gym doors burst open revealing a dishevelled looking Clint.
"Sorry to break up whatever romantic moment you guys are having, but we have an emergency in DC. Cap wants us all ready and at the Quinjet in ten minutes.â The archer told you, nodding briefly before rushing off.
âShit, duty calls.â Wanda deflated slightly, letting go of your hands.
âThis is my first mission.â You realised in a quiet tone, staring off blankly. Wanda looked at you and she felt a sense of pride swell in her chest.
âYouâll do great.â She told you sincerely, but Wanda also had a moment of realisation. A mission would mean sheâd get to meet your other half. Sheâd finally get to see Khaos. Part of Wanda felt bad at wanting to meet the symbiote so badly, but out of pure curiosity and a little bit of jealousy that everyone else had met her. But Wanda had been vulnerable with you, about her powers and everything, so why werenât you?
The mission was supposed to go one way, in and out, minimal fuss and casualties. But of course, things never went to plan for the Avengers.
You were told to hang back, observe a little and help if needed, as the team were still cautious about you letting loose an alien on the battleground. Khaos was getting antsy, and you could tell containing her was going to be particularly difficult.
Hydra agents were opening fire on a highway in D.C, and had taken hostages. The situation had escalated in the time it had taken you all to get there, and it wasnât exactly going to be an easy first mission. Natasha was initially instructed to stay with you, as she had experiences with dealing with people that had very angry and violent alter egos. However, Bruce was back at the compound, so you would be filling in for him.
But as things got worse, Nat had to dash off, and couldnât âbabysitâ you, so you were told to hang back. They couldnât risk you rushing around unsupervised, they had no idea how Khaos would react.
Wanda was also preoccupied, trying to shield civilians and get them to safety off the bridge. You were still in the back of her mind though, but she could only hope you were safe, and that Khaos would protect you.
But even you were getting a little annoyed, hanging back and watching your friends rush off to save the day. You felt useless.
âWe should be helping them! Not standing here like a fucking idiot!â Khaos roared in your ear, and you smacked the side of your head in hopes of getting her to shut up. You were still sat on the Quinjet that was around the block, wearing your tactical gear but not using it.
âI know! I know! But- we were told to stay here.â You argued back, standing up abruptly and beginning to pace around the aircraft.
âFuck it, just let me take control! I can handle these tiny mortals!â The symbiote tried, and you were beginning to give into the urge. It was like a scratch beneath your skin that you couldnât itch until you gave up your body to the alien.
You remained silent for a moment, before groaning.
âFine! Letâs go.â You gave in, and Khaos exclaimed in excitement as her slimy navy skin began to take over your body and engulf it. It wasnât long before you stood at a terrifying size and height, large white eyes and a snarling mouth.
âFinally! Time to feast!â Khaos screamed, before pounding out of the jet on all fours to rush to the action.
In fact, you got there in seconds, the alien leaping in the air and pouncing on top of a car with an almighty crash, letting out a roar that would strike fear in any soldier. It caused your teammates to turn around and look at you with wide eyes, expecting to see a much smaller looking Y/N.
âY/N?!â Steve yelled out in shock, as Khaos snapped her head to look at the tiny man. Her tongue hung out of her mouth as she snarled into a wicked smile.
âCaptain Rogers, Iâll take it from here.â The symbiote instructed, bouncing over the captain, Natasha and Clint, and bounding toward the group of Hydra agents taking cover behind cars across the freeway.
âKhaos, donât!â Natasha tried, but it was no use. The symbiote pounced on an unsuspecting Hydra soldier, and swiped a large fist at him, sending him flying off the side of the bridge. The rest of the soldiers began to fire as their teammate screamed, but their bullets did nothing. Khaos began rampaging, using her skin to form tentacles to rip the weapons from the agents, and keep them suspended in the air as she attacked.
âKhaos, no eating!â You warned her as she threatened to dangle one into her large jaw, which snapped shut at your chastising, tossing the man aside.
âNo fun.â She grumbled, continuing her assault on the small army.
The rest of the team were taking out stragglers, and Steve had called on everyone to regroup. Wanda was quick to come flying round, using her powers to lower herself down onto the tarmac.
âWhatâs going on?â She asked out of confusion, looking around. This wasnât part of the plan.
âYouâre girlfriendâs gone crazy!â Clint yelled in frustration, pointing to the current carnage Khaos was unleashing.
Wandaâs eyes followed his finger, and went wide at the sight of a now nearly ten foot slimy alien slicing through Hydra agents.
âTh-Thatâs Khaos?!â She asked in shock.
âWhat were you expecting?!â Natasha yelled back, everyone worried that they wouldnât be able to get Khaos back under control.
There werenât many agents left, the symbiote having made quick work of them, so the team knew it was time to step in to calm the beast. A lullaby, as Natasha called it. But this wasnât Bruce, or the Hulk. This was a much bigger, angrier, and stronger alien that hadnât really seen much of before.
âKhaos, come on, thatâs enough!â You tried to rope her in, but she had been in storage for a long time, and she was letting out all her frustration on these assholes.
âIs this not cathartic?! They deserve this!â Khaos defended. âRemember what they did to Wanda!
It was a low blow, but that ignited something in you, an anger. Hydra were cruel, and you werenât going to let them hurt Wanda again. Feeling the change in your tone, Khaos laughed wickedly and continued the onslaught. Unrelenting, the symbiote took no mercy on the soldiers, no matter how many grenades and bullets they fired.
âY/N!â A voice called out from behind you, one you both recognised. One you loved. Khaos snapped her head around, after taking out the final standing Hydra goon.
âWanda?â The alien questioned, watching the witch step cautiously around the wreckage to get closer to you. She was walking with a hand held out slightly in front of her, almost defensively.
Despite her name, and her violent nature, Khaos cared for Wanda as much as you did, and seeing her almost look in fear at you made her feel bad. Khaos didnât feel bad very often, if at all. The beast seemingly calmed at the sight and sound of your girlfriend, and the rage inside you subsided at her tone.
You wanted to call out to her, but she wouldnât hear you. You really just wanted to hold her.
âKhaos? Whoever! Look,â Wanda was finally a few feet away from you, lowering her arm. âItâs over. Theyâre gone. You did it.â
Wanda was broaching you as calmly as possible, and the team knew that she would have the best chance at talking Khaos down.
âGone.â Khaos mumbled, looking around briefly at the bloodshed she had caused.
âYeah, all gone. You did a good job.â Wanda smiled at you, and despite the clear worry in her eyes, you knew she was being sincere.
âItâs nice to meet you, Wanda.â Khaos changed the subject, turning her attention back to the Sokovian and kneeling slightly.
Wanda titled her head slightly and smirked.
âItâs good to meet you too, Khaos.â She greeted, taking a tentative step closer to the alien that towered over her, even kneeling.
âFinally, Y/N does nothing but think and talk about you,â Khaos informed her, and Wanda tried not to blush at the admission. âI can see why she does. You are a beautiful creature, Wanda.â
âThank you, Khaos. But I think itâs time for me to see Y/N, now.â Wanda told the creature, and she grumbled again.
âBut we have just met!â
âI know, but we can talk properly back at the compound, but I need to make sure Y/N is okay.â Wanda smiled sweetly, and Khaos snarled, mumbling that âsheâs fine, but okayâ, before relinquishing control back over to you. Her skin began to disappear, before a completely fine looking you stood in front of Wanda.
The exchange of control was always quite weird, nauseating at first. You stumbled a little at the height adjustment, looking around briefly to see just how much damage your friend had caused before your eyes settled on your girlfriend in front of you.
âHi Wanda.â You greeted sheepishly, but the witch didnât respond. Her face was emotionless for a moment, before she stepped forward and pulled you into a tight embrace, immediately burying her head in your neck. You reciprocated quickly, pulling your arms around her waist and holding her tightly.
âIâm glad youâre okay.â Wanda mumbled into your neck, making you chuckle.
âMe and Khaos are always okay.â You admitted, and Wanda pulled away from you, but still remained in arms reach. Your gaze dropped for a moment, realising that you had let Khaos have too much control. A sense of shame and embarrassment washed over you. âIâm sorry you had to see me like that.â
Wanda furrowed her brows, confused at your emotion.
âWhy? Y/N, I told you. No matter what, I will never leave you.â Wanda admitted, grabbing your hand like you had earlier that day. âYou let me see all of you, and Khaos is a part of you. Donât be ashamed of it.â
âI canât help it, I- I just donât want to scare you away,â You looked at her with glossy eyes. âI canât lose you Wanda.â
Wandaâs smile wobbled slightly, seeing you get upset always did that to her.
âI will never, ever leave you. I love you.â Wanda told you seriously, and your face softened into a smile at her.
âI love you too.â You closed the gap and pulled Wanda into a sweet kiss, a short peck on the lips, but you both got lost in the moment. The kiss deepened as you swiped your tongue across Wandaâs lips, which parted and granted you entry. Sure, kissing here was probably weird, but you needed this. The kiss was sweet until Wanda grumbled, parting from you quickly and pulled away.
âY/N, did you just grab my ass?â Wanda smacked your chest, and you looked shocked at the accusation until you realised, rolling your eyes.
âKhaos!â
