Hi!! I saw you do fic recommendations for Avengers fanfic! The post that I saw is a year old, so if you don’t do that anymore, then I completely understand.
HOWEVER, if you do still do fic recs could you be so kind as to lend me a hand? I am looking for Stony fics, but I really despised the Civil War arc that went on in MCU (I grew up with the Avengers Assemble tv show so found family in the Marvel universe is pretty much my lifeblood).
Anyway, I’m looking for works that specifically recognize that Steve is more than kind of traumatized by the fact that he can never go home and hasn’t adjusted to modern living as well as everyone thought. (I think I’m just a sucker for Steve being in emotional pain). I read a few on AO3, but if there’s a wealth to be found, then I’m missing it by a mile. Are there any that you would recommend? (They don’t have to be Stony either).

I think the concept of public persona as a mask/armour always applies to Tony. He is always this other person in some way shape or form and I’m sure it was always taxing for him.
the scene cut after obediah says "the best thing about tony is also the worst thing: he never stops working" and it cuts to tony at a casino... its played for jokes and its very much meant to emphasize how little tony cares for "serious" awards/work, but the camera cuts to a wider shot and theres litterally like 100 people watching him play this game.

I wish we knew more about pre-cave Tony, because I wonder if that tony considered public apperances as a chore the same way later tony did, and if that tony would rather be in his workshop.

I think the fact that they wanted Cas’ devotion to Dean to get buried in the subtext still stands.
I refuse to believe that the line was on the nose, I think the replacement was actually on the nose, and even if the note was “we know Cas is devoted to Dean don’t tell it, show it” I think it still shows that there was an agenda since back then to hide that in the subtext.
I think what Ben said was evidence enough.
The higher ups *did* want to make writers tone down Cas’ love for Dean. (And vice versa)
Talking about why this scene was rewritten/cut. Says he would get notes saying they know what the subtext is, bury it, use language less to the core but he wants to go straight to the core. Says its still clear Castiel is totally ride or die by Dean. He has to show it not tell it.
You were not crazy, folks, and I need to lie down.

After Nick talking to Tony, Tony did go back to the room with a tiny bed, with Steve sitting awkwardly on the edge. He did get undressed, pretending it’s any other night, keeping his face neutral as he climbed under the covers. He did wait for a long, long moment before huffing out loud, before “Cap, are you gonna sit there until the end of the world?” and then curling in on himself “ugh, it’s so cold.”
Steve did take off his pants after turning the lights off. He did climb under the covers. He did reach out, shyly, hesitantly, pulling Tony to himself. “You’re cold like a piece of ice.”
Tony did hide his face in the crook of Steve neck. “You’re warm enough for the both of us.”
It IS canon.
i am so upset that nick showed up and ruined everything at clint's farm. thor had left. nat and bruce had bunked up. clint had a wife. 'if they're sleeping here, some of them are gonna have to double up'. stevetony one bed trope could've been canon >:(
