Okay I do agree with the other folks that say that live action Katara isn’t really as angry and stubborn as she is in the original she does feel a lot more passive.
However
That last scene with her and Jet though???
Jet: Look at you…look at the power you have because of me!
Katara: That wasn’t you. That was me.
First of all…YES queen you shut him DOWN!! Shut him up!! And second, god that adds a whole new flavor to their dynamic that so many girls and women in any position of power at all can relate to. Cause how many men try to pull that stunt after helping a woman? As if a woman’s success is owed to that man somehow? As if Katara owes Jet her success? No, she absolutely does not. Even if he helps her any she power she has and gains was achieved by her. Nobody else.

Actually, it has a name in the earlier seasons: Sarah O’Brian.
Tries to butter him up to Lady Grantham. Assaults Bates to make Thomas look better. Gets him his job back—and more—after the war.
And if Thomas had actually told her that he’d made advances on a guest, who then blackmailed him into showing him the way to his boss’ daughter’s bedroom, she’d have pointed him to a solution that didn’t involve assault. As sure as heck she wasn’t pleased when he declared Mary “no better than she ought to be” to a friend in the context of said night, thus effectively costing Mary and Edith the chance of wedded happiness for over five years. And when she asked him to return the favour for her nephew, he could only think of himself and tried to get her sacked, causing retribution that involved him assaulting another man and nearly led to him getting sacked. And instead promoted.
Definitely not my favourite. If the intervention isn’t divine, it’s definitely demonic.
Thomas Barrow is such a funny character, it’s like, man wants job security, proceeds to go about attempting to secure his job and land promotions in ways that will ensure his prompt termination. Somehow against all odds he continues to be rehired/accidentally promoted to everyone’s disbelief, including his own. Some suspect divine intervention is involved.
