Have you ever suffered from bullying at uni for having accomodations? If so, can you please share your story and how you dealt with it?
Love you xx

To other autistic people:
Have you ever thought something like ''I'm starting to like this a little bit later than usual''? But with things that you're supposed to have liked years ago, for example:
-at 10ish y.o. girls start liking makeup and beauty, but at that age you were not interested in those things, you were focused on your hobbies and special interests. However, now that you're 23 or more you're slightly finding makeup and beauty a bit interesting (even though you don't even know how to wear lipstick).
-or maybe all of your classmates liked football and $ex when you were a teen, but you thought those things were silly/boring, and again, you were focused on your hobbies and didn't try the things that people your age tried back then. So now that you're older and spent ''enough'' time focusing on your usual hobbies/interests, you're starting to get curious about the old stuff you didn't try.

My brain is constantly trying to make me doubt myself by saying: "well if your sister is diagnosed with autism then surely they should have caught it with their next child" to try and like,,, make me doubt myself???
Me and my sister are also very different (although both show different signs of autism, and share many other signs) and sometimes I doubt myself based on that.
Do you have any tips for dealing with something like this?
If you feel/think that you might be autistic, maybe the best thing to do is to find a therapist that can help you get diagnosed. But before doing that, try to read about autism as much as you can, that way you'll see if you can actually relate to some autistic traits.

Quick question, can stims be voluntarily?? Are involuntary stims the same as tics? Sorry, late diagnosed and trying to figure out the terminology
Don't worry! Welcome to the club, haha
Yes, stims can be both voluntarily and involuntarily. We can stim because it's fun, it feels good, we want to calm ourselves down, we're bored/happy/angry/anxious/stressed out, etc. But I don't think it's the same as tics. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want :)

Hello. I am autistic with ADHD and maladaptive daydreaming. I have had sleep problems since childhood. I can't sleep because I have a lot of thoughts, dreams and music in my head. At night I constantly laugh, stim and sometimes even make strange throat sounds (on purpose). Even when I'm about ready to fall asleep, my brain says "let's play this song?" and here I am again activated and again I can not fall asleep. Chaos in my thoughts worries me not only at night, but at night it is most pronounced. Help.
Oh gosh! I can relate. I know how annoying it is. Have you tried with meditation? Or just listening to some calming music to fall asleep? Also, you can try having a tea before going to bed. I drink Sleepytime Tea at least 30 mins before bed, and it reaaaally helps A LOT. Here's a pic:

In your opinion, how often do ADHD and autism overlap?
I'm medically diagnosed with ADHD, but a lot of my friends (in good faith) ask if I have autism
What do you think? Is it common for people to have both?
-@the-new-ginger-switch
Well, you might be autistic as well. Most autistic people I know (not all of them, but most of them) also get an ADHD diagnosis. Autistic people have a higher rate of being ADHD, and vice versa. I am autistic and ADHDer.
You can try to get a proper diagnosis, but make sure to find a therapist that knows a lot/keeps learning about autism 😊

Is it an autistic thing to hold your hand like this???

Hmm... I don't think it has to do with autism, but to be honest I don't know. It might be an autistic trait of yours if you do it because it feels good, just like stimming 😊
