"Yeah, that's me!" Burhalla said, pointing to himself. "Been something I wanted to do for a while, ever since Team Sunset helped me! Rescuing Saltriv and Gen convinced me to actually do it!"

Linn, what happened to the frism that carried the voices of your friends as Hydreigon took you back to the human world? Were you able to take it with you?

Well it... Huh, I guess I hadn't really thought about it, but it never did make it back with me, even though my bandana made the trip. That would make it the only object that wasn't successfully taken between the human world and the pokemon one. Wonder why that is...

As mysterious as that is though... I don't think I'll linger on that for too long unless it happens again; I don't really want to have to listen back on... such a sad time; they really wanted to leave me with a happy last message, but it'll always be bittersweet.

(@asking-paradise) Linn@Wil & Cath: "You two seem to have an interesting dynamic; how'd you meet?"

While Wil and Cath are touring in the studios, they see a Pikachu.

“Hi! You wanna know how we met? Alright.

We met 10 or so years ago, when we were in school. Wil was a Sneasel back then.”

“We sat together at the desk. We had a chit chat after the class. We also exchanged our phone numbers in the end.

And our friendship has begun. Right, Wily?”

Wil looks gloomy. Cath curiously looks at him.

“Yea, honestly, I kinda don’t want to talk about my past when I was a Sneasel…”

“Why?”

“I'll tell you later, when the timing is right.”

Cath starts to get gloomy too.

Wil is not very comfortable with his past as Sneasel.

(@asking-paradise) Meeko@Catherine: "That nidoking was really mean! You don't deserve that; I've met a lot of angry 'mons who just say bad stuff cause they think it'll make themselves feel better, it's not your fault. Do you know what his deal was?"

[Catherine looks down to the ground.]

[Catherine, worried] "Alex. He..."

[She takes a deep breath, and then glances at the Oshawott, slightly turning her head, but not enough to look at him in the eyes.]

[Catherine, worried] "We used to be friends..."

[She grabs her bow and holds onto it.]

[Catherine, worried] "But, he was also really against me evolving..."

[She takes another deep breath before speaking again.]

[Catherine, worried] "He said... I would 'become a monster' if I did..."

[She is reminded of a past event, and she flinches a bit. Afterwards, she grabs her arms, like she's hugging herself.]

[Catherine, worried] "I'm sorry. What happened back then is something I don't like to think about."

[She looks down at the ground again.]

[Catherine, thoughts] "(I wish it didn't happen.)"

Now that's really mean of him! He shouldn't have a say on whether you evolve or not; that's your choice!

You have good friends now though, right? You don't need Alex, or to listen to what he says anymore! You have people looking out for you that you can lean on!

Been a while since I’ve posted anything, but here’s my first piece in the art program I’ve started using: a drawing of my friend Nelvana’s characters from @asking-paradise.

[Thank you for making these for Linn and Meeko!! Your description of the move Miniature Paradise made me think of Meeko changing the terrain to a mini oasis, so I just had to sketch it out!]

@asking-paradise Sorry I haven’t gotten to your drabble yet. I haven’t forgotten about it! Just still brainstorming ideas for it. In the meantime, though:

Linn: Infinite Hope - Ability - The user receives 50% reduced damage from typeless entites and typeless moves.

Meeko: Miniature Paradise - Status - Water type - The user creates the Paradise field terrain, which causes healing moves and items to heal 100% of a Pokemon’s HP.

[Been playing around with the Automatic Composition site, i.e AC-chan, that has been circulating around tumblr recently, and tried seeing what it would come up with for Team Impulse and asking-paradise! I found them to be neat and surprisingly fitting for the characters and setting, so I am sharing them with you! Tumblr only accepts mp3 files from what I could see, and idk how to turn wav files into mp3 files, so I’ll just link them here!

Have you ever considered an earring or tail accessory?

...I don’t think earrings would really be my thing. Maybe a tail accessory, but it might get in the way when I’m swimming; I use my tail a lot for that.

Why doesn't Meeko have a svarf?

Tried an actual scarf too, but I don’t think it really suited me. My neck fur is too fluffy to try wrapping a bunch of fabric around it too, and it would get heavy when wet, which happens a lot since I’m a water-type.

Hats were considered too, but we couldn’t really find one that would really stay on in battle. It was fun to try on a bunch of hats though!

I think the closest we got was with some sort of arm band, but... I don’t really like how that feels... I’m fine without wearing anything! Maybe I’ll give wearing a bandana myself a try sometime, maybe even turn it around opposite to the way Linn wears hers!!

What is your process for coming up with ocs, whether it be for the blog or in general?

[Admittedly, there isn’t much of a process? Or at least it’s hard to explain, haha.

Well, I say that, but then this got really long, so my explanation will be under the cut! But tldr; there isn’t much of a process my brain just comes up with things and I follow through those base ideas.]

[For this blog and other ocs I make that are based on a pre-existing media, I have the fun of having to interpret characters that are already there, but may not have been written with all the details fully put together. GtI is especially good at having characters that feel like fully fleshed out characters, but also leave a lot to interpretation. Or, a lot to interpret from memory, because sometimes, admittedly, I forget something about a character (like Munna helping you at the end of the game) but then it turns into something more interesting for me anyway (just because Munna helps you doesn’t mean it changes everything for you and her). For example, GtI!Partner is generally optimistic and friendly, has big dreams, but is also missing a bio family. Meeko thus gets all those traits, but I get to add more to flesh him out some more. He love giving hugs, he doesn’t really know his exact birthday, he’s a little bit claustrophobic (there’s your fun Meeko fact of the day), he loves the world and people in it so much despite how little he had to base that love off of for so long. Of course, I have some ocs that exist in this blog but do not have any explicit in-game counterparts, namely the five other humans I mentioned. Rather than expanding on pre-existing characters in this case, I’ve expanded on pre-existing concepts. We know there were other humans. We don’t know how many there were (even within the lore of this blog, the five mentioned ones, six including Linn, are not the only ones), nor do we really know what they were like. As Hydreigon goes over in this ask, each of the human characters I came up with were sort of selected for some core traits that I, and therefor Hydreigon, would think to be possibly good heroic traits. For their pokemon species, Jason, Steven, and Audrey defaulted to tepig, snivy, and axew as a nod to the other GtI hero and partner options. As for Becca and York, Becca got machop because it’s an old pmd hero option that I feel like everyone forgets about, and York got poochyena because I wanted to pick a pokemon that was not in gen 1 or 5, to shake things up a bit, and poochyena came to mind. It’s a pokemon I am fond of, and makes sense to be a pmd hero despite never having been one. The five of them have more to their characters that might get time to address in-universe, but we’ll have to see when we get there.

In general for making ocs through, I don’t have a better way to phrase it than just the vibes sometimes? If they’re for a story, I often think of the role I want them to play, or the concept, and expand from there, which is often where the vibe checking comes in. Answering questions like what are their goals? How do they interact with other characters? Are good to figure out early, in my experience, and then you start answering the “why’s?” and after that, the “then what’s?” For example, why does character A treat character B poorly? Depending on that answer, it could lead to what would make character A treat character B better? Does character B treat everyone poorly, or just character A? It’s a lot of asking yourself questions and figuring out the questions, whether that’s something your brain comes up with on your own, or whether you have to crack down and do some research.

It may just be another me being weird thing, since I know the way I do a lot of creative works is often an odd, roundabout way, so it’s hard to know what makes sense to others and what doesn’t, but I tend to let my passion for whatever my project is fuel me and just listen to what my instinctual ideas are for ocs. There are some things that will never get addressed in-universe in some of my stories, but just having them in mind helps me to figure out how those ocs may act in other situations (fun fact! Junior, i.e Kangaskhan’s kid in Galaxies Above, his father was an awful person and him and Kangaskhan are like the closest to divorced you can get in that setting, but it never comes up in the actual story!). To avoid making this post too much longer, I suppose, if you were looking for advice, just remember what role the characters serve in the story or in relation to other characters, but never just stop there, always have other ideas in the back of your pocket for them.]

Favorite thing about this blog?

[That's actually pretty difficult for me to decide! I probably have a few favorite things.

Like I said in my anniversary announcement post, this blog is kinda comforting to me, and I like being able to come back to it when I can.

I also am fond of the sense of progress I get. Any long-term art project like this is really easy to see the signs of development in my style, and I've always enjoyed getting to see that progress.

And the content itself! I love writing and drawing Linn, Meeko, and the other characters. We haven't gotten too far into the plot yet but I'm so excited for those next steps in the story.]

[New Team Impulse references! No major changes (the only real one is that Linn no longer has black in her color palette, it got swapped out for more brown), I was just feeling like they deserved an update.]
