I completed this comm about a week ago for two DnD original characters! Here, a boisterous aunt is pridefully showing off her nephew to patrons in a tavern. Even without a proper background, I wanted them to appear to be in a warm and cozy setting using only lighting. Tell me whether or not I was successful 🫡

Oh I have now, and I'm not really feeling it. I think it's the least favorite of the Jam cards, but I'll still get it either way 😅

Part of "Endure" a zine centered around two original characters traveling through different video game-inspired worlds. As far as I know, it was structured so that the zine would follow a loose structure. Mine would be near the last third of the zine since it's the characters entering the final dungeon, which I based on Horizon Forbidden West.

I wanted to incorporate more west coast elements in my version, so instead of the typical cauldron doors, I had the entrance be under a building resembling the Aquarium of the Pacific! I also had to research local flora to add and the ones that stayed in the composition were the California poppies.

Seeing this is a Horizon-inspired background, the post-apocalyptic scenario is that there are now half robot half animal creatures roaming the earth, all from a disease that robotifies organic organisms. I took that part from Sonic the Hedgehog comic lore and incorporated that early badniks look into this eagle creature!

So here, Juno is making shock arrows for Sylvie, referencing the crafting system in these types of games, while Sylvie is using an old-fashioned recurve bow. This whole concept I was what I had in mind from the beginning.

The execution part of it was a mess tho 😅

It was definitely a learning process, but I think it gave me a better understanding of how I should tackle backgrounds from now on. They've always been a struggle for me, but I'd love to try this piece again and fix some things.

Hopefully you guys like it for what it was because this did take me a lot of time and a lot of trial and error. The actual zine never got published though and I still think this piece is worth sharing.

Hair-swapped TWST Part 41

I'm sorry, I had to know how Rook looked with this hairstyle. I can't quite make out is Epel pulls off the bob, but it's not the worst thing in the world. Rook though looks pretty nice!

This is a sneak peek of a piece I have never released. Completed last summer for a video game based zine, I've been waiting to post this on my socials. However, the zine never came to fruition so I'm free to show this as a please.

I wanted to force myself doing backgrounds so I based my piece on environments from Horizon Forbidden West while adding my own flair to it, so I hope you'll like the full piece when I show it next week!

More love for Tanaka! This page had a lot of warm colors especially with that bright orange jersey, so I made the blues a lot more bold to offset that imbalance. The ball is definitely the brightest thing here as I made it both more saturated and cool to contrast the warm palate of the gym and the players.

The majority of this page was just focusing on complimentary colors and making them pop

Merch update

Hey y'all! Some of you may have seen my Chibi Rook sample I post quite some time ago that was meant to be a keychain design. I also designed 2 others, all of which were based off of previous works I did on those respective characters.

Well the samples either got stolen or just never came. I was so excited to sell them and took time off my regular comm work to finish the designs. However, this setback has discouraged me from making my own TWST merch outside of Redbubble so I will NOT be selling these keychains. Sorry about all that y'all.

Here's what the designs were.

Coloring Hinata is easily the best part of doing this project. Because he has orange hair, there's a breadth of color you can utilize to make his hair look more vibrant. White, yellow, and orange for the lights, red and brown for the shadows!

I also liked experimenting with his eyes in both the bottom and center panel. The eyes in the original page had the same off-print motion blur style, only in screen tones and I liked that effect. I tried to mimic that effect in color and I think it looks decent.

I did a lot of manga colorings for Haikyuu-In-Color a few years back and I never got around to actually posting the full versions anywhere, but now that the project is pretty much over I can do what I please with this pages. Hopefully you like them!

I have so many more I did before this one, but I won't post them unless there's a demand (like there's too many to find and organize here in one post). For now I'll post the ones after this particular page.

So for this one I had to look up screenshots of the anime to see how they did speed lines. I found one with Hoshiumi funny enough and used that for reference. And because the blue and the pink stood out to me, I decided to have the onomatopoeia and last panel be yellow-green to complete that triadic color scheme.

Hair-swapped TWST Part 40

I like this one. It's too cursed not to like. Like, can you imagine you first running into Leona in the botanical gardens and the game does its dramatic camera pan from the legs to the chest and finally the head only to see this lion beastman with this haircut? Yana Toboso could never. She would never have the guts so make a character this cursed. But I do, and for free.

Rollo... I mean it's an obvious step up for him, but he would never have hair this unkempt. I guess it's cursed in the way that we know with a normal haircut we can see that he's alright looking. Do with this knowledge what you please.

if my oc has never been drawn before but I have a lot of references for what she should look like, would you be able to draw her as a commission?

Yes! I have done plenty of commissions like this! And I always check in to make sure I got all the details right. I've gotten comms where the references were other comms and others where they send me lots of images and ask me to piece them together, so I have no problem with whatever approach you guys go with 👍

New 100 Azul sticker out now!

I didn't forget about the Princely series, but in case you did it's where I do my own versions of the scuffed Disney 100 merch artwork of our lovely twst boys. Azul was much harder to find reference for but I mostly based it off of Hans, Rapunzel, and Prince Eric. Azul certainly does have that sharp and sleek vibe to his character, but I like the idea of keeping at least one feature more associated with portly characters, so I gave him a pronounced button nose!

This one was a long time coming so I hope you guys like it as much as I do! It is now available on my Redbubble shop here as a sticker, pin, and magnet.
