i still think that the funniest part of the royal vault party was joe falling off the side and hiding while ren chewed out bdubs, but a close second is grian’s “you didn’t cleAR THIS WITH THE KING?!??” as everyone panicked and scattered because despite his repeated insistence that he is NOT gonna rebel against the king, he can’t even attend a royal event without accidentally taking part in a form of resistance (ie. the last vault diamonds being given away as party favors). his plan was clearly to get someone else (impulse) to rebel via grumbot, not to get directly implicated in this mess, but life has other plans…

this week on hermitcraft: ren is trying to get himself overthrown as king on purpose so he can get back to his giga corp plotline

the scene where cleo and martyn try to rob bdubs like a couple of highway men is infinitely funnier when you’ve watched bdubs’ episode before cleo’s, because from bdubs’ pov it looked like a fully realized bit, like they’d been prowling the roads for the express purpose of robbing people, which honestly wouldn’t be off-brand for either of them.

but from cleo’s pov you realize it was a completely unplanned and spontaneous silent agreement to rob him. martyn goes “stand and deliver!” and cleo almost immediately follows up with “your money or your life!” they’re quite in sync for an ex-soulmate pair and then martyn gets them killed mere minutes after.

LOVING the new episodes but as someone who was around to witness the S7 turf war i just wanna remind people to like. remember that everything in hermitcraft is purely for entertainment and fun? and that the hermits are all mature adults just playing a game and good friends who would never intentionally upset each other?

like by all means, make angst out of this! make drama and conflict!! i’m all FOR it! but please don’t let that become directed at the content creators themselves. i repeat: no hate towards the content creators for fictional conflicts! last time, grian and scar had to ask their audiences multiple times to stop leaving hateful comments and i know most of it was on youtube but i saw some stuff here, too. so let’s do better y’all! and then we can have some real fun with this plotline as it (almost certainly) escalates in the future without the cc’s feeling bad about it <3

i haven’t been able to watch any of impulse’s streams since double life started so idk if he’s talked more about it since then but like.

impulse has said before that one thing he’s regretted about last life is that he felt like his ‘story arc’ didn’t have a lot of meaning to it. he had the whole southlands thing going, yeah, but it wasn’t anything that massively impacted the course of the series, and in the end his death was unremarkable, and quickly moved on from.

with all that in mind, it makes me love the direction he’s taking in double life even more.

the universe gave impulse a soulmate and he basically said, “okay, i’m gonna make my life mean something this time.” he’s wholly committed to his dynamic with bdubs as soulmates, probably the most out of anyone in the series at this time. he’s ensuring that no matter what happens, no matter how his series ends, his presence will have meant something to someone, even if that’s just bdubs and bdubs alone. and i think that’s beautiful.

Everyone saying Hermitgang lyrics don't make sense is WRONG like not only are some of you missing context of things that happened in Season 6 (oh my god guys "bananas" was the WARNING CODE WORD PLEASE) but also for the most part you just aren't picking up the WORDPLAY. Doc called them firemen because they're dousing the flames of G-Team's attacks. Xisuma's "It's flexing season and I got flavour" is a great PUN because seasoning gives food flavour and he's just literally saying he's got things to flex. G-Team needs sunscreen because they're getting BURNT by words. "Ay" is just a common exclamation to give rhythm to your verse and Ren was just referencing rapping meta. These lyrics MAKE SENSE. You just don't understand them like I do.
