I adjusted the time frame, only by a couple of hours, any other day it wouldn’t make any difference, but this is Christmas 1914, and a human miracle is about to happen. The Christmas Armistice. It never happened again. Any war, anywhere. But for one day, one Christmas, a very long time ago… everyone just put down their weapons, and started to sing. Everybody just stopped. Everyone was just kind.

foxynelson and I have been hard at work imagineering Fiskley + dinosaurs
Confederated Global is invited by an eccentric trillionaire to Isla Nublar
Fisk certainly isn’t going to any dinosaur park, just look at him
Wesley doesn’t want to go to any dinosaur park either, but someone has to go represent them
Wesley gets VIP treatment around the park, and he looks like he’s having SO MUCH FUN in his dark suit and tie while the other people in the group are wearing like golf slacks and polo shirts
they insist he sit down in the front row for the SeaWorld water monster mosasaurus show, VIP that he is
Wesley disagrees.
“This suit is Prada.”
but they won’t be argued with
he gets soaked head to toe and he sits there with a BALEFUL EXPRESSION before he finally, slowly, takes off his glasses and tries to wipe them off
once things start going tits up, he manages to make one call to Wilson Fisk and it’s calm, collected, but slightly garbled by signal chaos and everyone else on the island also getting on their phones
Fisk stares out of his massive penthouse windows in concern
nobody on the island is that impressed with Wesley at first; he’s a prissy, tense jerk in a damp suit
“When my employer hears about this…” yeah nobody cares who you work for, least of all a t-rex
but it turns out Wesley is immensely capable and resourceful and ends up leading a group of survivors
THE VELOCIRAPTORS, at one point they get surrounded
Wesley cocks his head at them
they all cock their head in unison at Wesley
and then the raptors all run off, because he’s one of them
game recognize game
meanwhile Wilson Fisk is organizing the might of their Confederated Global PMC types and is sending, like, a whole armada to Isla Nublar because his gorgeous husband isn’t answering his phone
a dozen black helicopters land on the beach and Wilson Fisk jumps out of one, onto the white sand, many men with assault rifles follow suit
“Find him,” Fisk orders
Wesley and other survivors are in the maintenance tunnels after many adventures
Wesley has lost his TIE (makeshift tourniquet for someone bleeding out)
and his BELT (makeshift CLIMBING RIG)
and the laces from one shoe
one sleeve of his suit jacket is half torn off at the shoulder, you can see his white shirt through the tear
he keeps glaring at the bloodstains and grime, this is NOT OKAY
one lens of his glasses are broken, but he’s WEARING THEM
The maintenance hatch opens, Confederated Global PMCs shine their flashlights down, they’ve FOUND WESLEY they RADIO IT IN
and they found other people too, who are like “Thank God someone came for us!” and Fisk is like “… yeah sure you’re welcome.”
Fisk is PROUD of his resourceful hench-husband and tells him it’s a good look, that ‘hunted through the jungle for 2 days’ look
Wesley laughs self-consciously, and takes off his torn jacket
The black helicopters fly into the sunset over the gleaming wildfire ocean, close shot of WESLEY seated next to FISK in the lead chopper, WESLEY is asleep on FISK’S shoulder, Fisk gently reaches over and covers WESLEY’S HAND WITH HIS as the Jurassic Park theme reaches its apex

You know what I love most about the LOTR movies? They  way they grow with you, change as you watch them and still stay relevant.
- When I first saw them in the cinaema/on VHS at the age of 12 (and subesequently read the books), they gave me a world to lose myself in, a world far away from bullying and grades and expectations. A world where I could believe that good deeds still meant something, that not all is sad and grey. It gave me the inspiration to write and create, expand a world I had only glimpsed with my own thoughts. It gave me a way to survive.
- When I was 16 they showed me that it is okay to doubt, to be weak at times and that you don’t have to be a big person to change the world around you. They showed me that even as a woman you can do your own thing, go your own path, make your own decisions. “I am no man.” And that is okay to doubt.
- When I was 20 they made me realise that although many things change in life, some things stay the same no matter where you are, how old you are. No matter how much of a deficient human I felt I was, they were the one thing still able to make me feel something. It was also the time I realised that Sam was the real hero of a story and the comfort I took from someone so ‘ordinary’ ending up being so imporant was so comforting.
- Now I am 25 and I watch them and I think about Theoden, about his bravery to fight even when it seems like all is lost, about his sadness and the enormous sacrifice he made when all he wanted to do was to do good by his people. I hear ‘no parent should bury their child’ and think of my sister; I llisten to ‘where is the horse and rider’ and it resonates with me as it could not have done ten years ago because back then I did not know how fleeting life truly is.
- And I know I will still be watching these movies and read the books a decade or two from now and every time it will be like coming home and I will find new things about them to love, to identify with, to take me away from where I am. It means more than words could say.
