Ren’s not a clumsy person, not by any means-quite the opposite in fact. So when he slips on ice that he’s pretty sure hadn’t been there before, he’s more than a little confused and wary. He looks at the woman who spoke, brows furrowing in confusion. “I believe so, thank you for asking. Did you do that?”

“It was an accident.” Elsa flushes with embarrassment.  “It happens when I get startled. I’m working on it.”

her sisters words echo inside of her mind. good enough.  she certainly didn’t feel good enough, nor did she truly think that she was even enough. she tried to do the right thing, and the next one after, yes but what happens when that wasn’t enough? when that couldn’t help anyone?

“ thanks, Elsa … i just worry. worry about protecting them… “ she wasn’t anything special. she was just some clumsy princess who only had the job because she was the other heir. she could handle a sword with… some grip, but other than that? she had nothing and could do nothing, not even to protect her family, let enough for a whole kingdom. “ i have to work on that but… i really appreciate it. and i’m glad… to have you to remind and listen. “

Elsa shakes her head. “You don’t have to worry,” she tells her. “Anna,  you’re special. You’re fearless. You’re the only one that was never afraid of my powers, and if you can deal with that....” She smiles. “I’m pretty sure you can deal with anything.”  She  puts her hands on Anna’s  shoulders.  “Hey, I’m here for you.  I’m only a letter away if you need me.  I know you  can do this.”

“Well, it’s easier than it looks.” Anna admitted with a slight smiler after hearing her sister’s words of pride. The ceremony felt much longer than her sister’s, but that may just have been because she was now the center of attention. It felt weird.

Pulling away from their tight embrace and said. “I am kinda mad at my dresser for making heels be the shoe of the day. I was sure in the middle of holding the scepter and orb that I would break a heel.” Laughing it off herself lightly as she made the mental note to change out of these painful heels and slide into much comfortable flats.

“I have no idea how you managed to walk around everywhere in heels—especially on ice!”

“I’ve been there,” Elsa says, chuckling softly. “You did great. Most of it’s just standing there, but not dropping the scepter or tripping are the biggest things to avoid. I was so panicked about freezing things during my coronation.”

She looks down at  her feet, now bare. She can’t say she misses wearing shoes all the time, especially heels. She looks up at Anna again. “The real  secret is to walk on your tiptoes,” she  tells Anna,  voice  dropping to  a  low, conspiratorial whisper. “I only ever let the heel touch the  floor if I was standing still.  It’s a lot easier.”

Anna: Wait, what? Where are you going?

Elsa: Someplace Elsa.

The cold’s never bothered Elsa. She’s lived her whole life immune to the cold, which makes weathering the harsh winters a little bit easier.  But she can see others suffering,  and even if  she’s not the most eloquent or capable of people,  she still wants to help. So when she sees Eurydice, struggling in the cold, she decides to take a chance.

“Hey, uhm....” The girl looks like she’s freezing. She hesitates and gestures behind her. “I’ve got a fire going. You’re welcome to warm yourself if you want to. You look like you could use it.”

“Anna, I need your help.” Oh, this is bad. This is very, very bad. She wrings her hands nervously in front of herself, trying to keep herself from panicking. “You know Kristoff’s sleigh? It’s.... ice. I turned it into ice.”

Don’t mess up, don’t go crazy with her powers. Elsa’s done her best to keep her abilities to an absolute minimum. But sometimes, she slips up. And sometimes, she makes other people slip.  “I’m so sorry,” she says quickly, flicking her hand to make the ice recede and vanish. “Are you okay?”

Elsa’s not an especially confident person. She wishes she was, and she tries to be, but when it comes down to it? Not great. She’s not sure how she feels about the  gates being open, but Anna’s so excited about it, she can’t deny her sister the temporary thrill of it all. 

Elsa herself hasn’t been outside the gates in a long time, probably not since she was a child. Her adventure beyond the gates after her coronation had been her first, and she wanted to make herself more familiar with her kingdom now that she was settled as queen.

Everyone’s supposed to be celebrating, but Elsa can’t bring herself to participate in the festivities. She looks at the flowers adorning the maypole, lips pursed, and tries to look like she’s not having a miserable time. She only looks up when she  hears someone speaking next to her. She flushes, clearly embarrassed, and discreetly crushes the ice forming beneath her foot with her shoe. “Sorry, I couldn’t hear you-- the music.” She gestures around awkwardly. “Sorry,  what?”

“Excuse me, I’m coming.”
