I know I’m not in the six fandom here so much anymore but the UK tour just announced that the next Seymour will be a black woman (Carly Mercedes Dyer), the first POC principal Seymour (to my knowledge at least)
I couldn’t be happier

I JUST REALISED SOMETHING ABOUT “EX WIVES” AND “SIX”
the lines “Welcome to the show, To the historemix, Switching up the flow, As we add the prefix”
And
“It's the end of the show, Of the historemix, We switched up the flow, And we changed the prefix”
I always thought it was odd to repeat this phrase. Especially the thing about prefixes.
Now, we all know about the word play of this show. And it’s well known it’s “history” and “his story” (Henry’s version of events)
The prefix they changed is “his.” They told their own stories. They made “his story” “her story.”
And I think that’s fucking brilliant.

Okay but like:
Imagine an AU where the queens aren’t brought back at random ages, they’re the ages they were when they got married to Henry (kind of like fate is giving them a redo). Like, mentally their ages wouldn’t change but how young someone looks and how their body functions can change relationships.
Aragon is 23. She revels in being back in her prime, spine unbent and heart beating healthily in her chest. She lets herself have fun in a way that she didn’t get to do in her first youth. There’s no pressure to adapt to being queen, no royal parents to disappoint, no Henry VII to keep her there to marry his son. She goes out and dances and parties with a freedom she has never felt before. She and Kitty get much closer this time, sisters almost. If it were not for how new this world was and how quickly she begins to love the other queens, Aragon would have run as far as she could from England and never looked back. She goes to uni for business and management, makes friends, and ends up starting a not-for-profit that helps the homeless in urban areas.
Anne is 30. She lords over Aragon that she’s older than her now. It is surprising how different she looks. She had forgotten how much the stress of being married to Henry for those three years had aged her. It affects her behavior too. This was an Anne who had already spent years as a lady in waiting, an Anne who was bending under pressure to marry the king, and Anne who was breaking to the will of everyone around her. She is ashamed of this Anne, so she vows not to be her, finding rebellions small and large in everything she does. She still becomes an actor, free to sing and dance, but she also writes and directs musicals.
Jane is 28, not very different from how she died age-wise, a mark of her short tenure as queen. She has an easier time arguing with Anne in this universe when both of them are around the same age, Anne is even maybe a little older. It doesn’t hurt as much to spit vitriol and it takes longer to warm up to her. She’s still Jane, not much has changed. She does, however, feel a sense of protection towards all the queens who are younger than her, which does not include Anne and Parr in this universe, but does include Aragon. She does commissions of needlepoint work and restoration of tapestries and finds a new passion for a skill that she was known for.
Cleves is 25. It is starting for her how much she knows this time. When she was this age in her old life, she was shipped off to a foreign country where she did not know the language, tricked and mocked for things out of her control. Coming back at the exact same age this happened gives her an even more fiery determination to be smarter this time. To be stronger this time. She takes martial arts classes and spends time improving her English skills, something she doesn’t care about as much in the universe where she comes back at a random age. She ends up working at an animal shelter, it’s not a lot of money, but she’s damn good at it.
Kitty is 15/16. She needs a legal guardian this time around, you can’t just ship children anywhere in the 21st century like you could in the 16th. Naturally, she picks Jane. She has to go to school, she’s a child after all, and she throws herself into it. Learning was an opportunity that was lost to her when she became a lady in waiting, She’s behind, obviously, so much of her time outside of school is spent locked up in her room studying or staying after school with a tutor, who later becomes her girlfriend. She ends up going to uni for music education and is damn good at it. Kitty is more confident this time, more focused on learning, more willing to find support outside of the queens. She gets to live an adolescence more normal than any she could have gotten if she came back a legal adult.
Parr is 31, the oldest of them but only by a little bit. Aragon doesn’t become a maternal figure for her in this universe, it’s a bit odd to try and mother a woman 8 years your senior. It takes longer for her to open up, longer to learn that its okay to take a break sometimes. Anne is the first person who can get through to her, arguably the only person who can get through to her. She’s less frantic, more razor-sharp focused. She makes the most money of any of them, her books getting published and well respected. She falls into a natural leadership role among the queens, a guiding force in their lives.
The show never gets written, Kitty is too young and by the time she’s an adult all of them have already fallen into their own life paths and careers. They all live together for a time, but in a couple years, Cathy and Anne get married and live together, Kitty goes off to uni and moves in with some friends there, Aragon finds freedom in having her own flat, and Jane and Anna find a smaller flat together. They are still family, but from not spending every day together they never get the symbiotic relationship that they so depend on in the universe where they come back at random ages.

Just thought I’d chart the slight differences between the various alt costumes
Identical ensembles:
Collete’s open-skirt costume – Cassy’s main costume
Mallory’s Seymour/Howard costume – Grace’s second costume
Nicole’s Cleves costume – Vicki’s Cleves costume
Cherelle’s main costume – Jennifer’s main costume
Collette’s Parr pants - Natalie’s Parr pants

the breakaway cast is down three wueens. They only have two alts. They sadly look into the sunset.... then they see it. A helicopter, coming towards them. It hovers direcrly overhead, and a figure repels down on a rope. Its collette. She saw the Queen Bat Sign and was Called To Her Duty. She saves the day

SAY IT LOUDER
for the last time, people are upset about aywd being used for tiktok audios not because of some superiority/hipster complex about knowing the musical first, but because it’s a song about the abuse and grooming of a child leading to her untimely death that people are using as some kind of glo-up meme without knowing the context
