Hello!
I apologize again for the lack of activity. Truth to be told, there's a lot of changes coming about for me recently (good changes!), thus I haven't been able to be online as much. I don't want to say anything about it yet until things are done and dusted, which will only be possible in a few months time. It's a very exciting time which I did not see coming so soon, but it did! Which means writing will unfortunately take a backseat in priorities for quite a while.
I will not abandon this, however! It will be a long while before I can get back to this :(
Side note: I'm not sure why my reply disappeared when I answered your ask, but unfortunately I have not posted my music anywhere else! I may try to record better versions when I get a new piano (also only possible in a few months) before I put it on maybe youtube? We shall see!

A little update
Well, the short of it is: they found two retina holes with a bit of fluid in my left eye. Had to get them lasered up to prevent a retinal detachment. My follow up appointment is in 2 weeks so crossing my fingers that all will be well.

Hi everyone! I'm finally back home, after a lovely trip, but alas I won't be back to writing yet. I've yet another onset of new floaters - this time a few clusters of about 20 little bubbles - so I won't be in the mind space to write till my appointment with my ophthalmologist next week is over, to rule out any retinal tears or atrophy. Hopefully, things will turn out all fine and I can try to squeeze out those juices again after that 🤞

I've got just a little over a thousand words this week! Apologies for the delay as I wanted to finish one part first before updating here.
In other news, I'll be on vacation soon! It's my first in....a long few years, since health hasn't allowed me thar luxury in a while. So I'm very excited for it! I won't be writing during this period of time, but I'll be back in about 2 weeks, hopefully refreshed and re-energized to up my weekly word count.

I managed just under 1.5k words this week!
The investigative branches are slowly taking shape. I'm just starting to realize how much variation there may possibly be, in this chapter, and...well. I'm just trying not to think about that lest the prospect be too intimidating. One word at a time, I suppose! And slowly the end will be within reach.
On another note, I hope you managed to get a lovely sight of the blue moon yesterday!
Just thinking of Lifeline, sitting on the roof with Awan, thinking of how many more full moons they may be able to see...

I don't really have a word count this week, but I did manage to add a nice scene to the prologue which I am very excited for you to read. For chapter 2, the seeds are laid down for future branches to be written. This chapter will have a fair bit of branching so I hope I will be able to maintain a coherent grasp of what will happen.
Next week , I will try to add at least a thousand words to chapter two. Hopefully that's a small enough goal that I can meet!

First of all wanna start off saying that I read the demo recently and the snippet right now. Your writing is really amazing.
So just wanted to ask if you have any advices for people who are just starting writing fiction. Like personally I suffer from so much self doubt and just not being able to write emotion inducing scenes like you do. Thanks. Really looking forward to what you have in store.
Hello anon! First of all, thank you for your very kind words. I am honestly really not the best person to speak about writing advice, because if you have been following this blog, you must know that I am not the most consistent writer. At all. I'm also full of self doubt on the quality of writing I can produce, and on the appeal of the ideas I want to write.
But, as for how I write emotional scenes - I can share what have helped me. I hope this will also be of some assistance to you!
Here's what I like to do:
1. Listen to a variety of songs
This can include instrumental and otherwise; whichever helps to set the mood for it.
2. Try to be "in the moment"
Sometimes, I close my eyes and letting myself try to "feel" the moment. Put myself into the same that Lifeline is in, also helps me be more keenly aware of how that emotion feels, which better equips me to write it too.
3. Have fun with metaphors!
I absolutely love injecting literary devices into my writing. They can be fun to explore, to find a way to link the emotional experience to a physical description. It also builds on (2), in that...I try to find relatable words that can help someone feel what I am feeling.
I'm sorry this is probably not that helpful 😞 all in all, please don't feel demoralized about where you may currently be at writing. I've been there as well. I have a lot of self doubt over dialogue and romance, but what I have learned to try to accept is that everyone has a different writing style. There will be something you enjoy writing more, and that will likely be something you will be good at doing! Writing is a very personal journey, and circumstances or exposure will influence what kind of writing genre you're better at and what you're not so good at, so take comfort in that too.
