Hi there! If it isn't rude of me to ask, how long does it usually take you to make one click and drag game?

Hi! I don't find it rude at all! I think it'll be a fun thing to answer actually

I'm gonna go long with this one, do bear with me!

So it usually depends! Anything I make from scratch will definitely take longer than anything I've already created gifs/banners for. If there are a lot of characters (~20-50), it'll take a WHILE (like ~2-4 hours) but if there are only a handful, it can take just about 45min to 1.5 hrs)

If you want me to go into specifics, I'll go through my step process! first, I'll have to look for pictures to use and crop them all which would generally take me 5-7 minutes for each character. Then I'll have to compile those images into multiple gifs which would take me roughly about 3-5 minutes for each different gif. Then, the last step would be to finally add the labels and "@" for each gif (taking ~2 minutes each)

After explaining this process, you can imagine how long it'd take to create gif sets that include 20+ characters 🥴

For this blog, it's much more of a straightforward process that I stick to more consistently in comparison to how I do things in @deescade. In @deescade I basically follow the same process, but now, I'll be including the time it takes to brainstorm new ideas/themes/scenarios. Things will take a LOT longer because I try my best to be creative with 'em. (Especially for games that include text/worded outcomes such as Date! Scenario or 7MiH). Whereas, on @anime-clickanddrag-geemu , I simply use the standard outcomes (bff, rival, lover, cockblock, etc.) that you'd often see in the original click and drag games back in 2014-2015, so there's no extra level of creativity that's required of me

I'm not sure if you've seen my games from when I first started out this blog @anime-clickanddrag-geemu (back in 2018), but if you look back at them, you'll notice how a lot of them were not mobile friendly and were quite plain in terms of format. Back then, I would use only one base gif to use for the rest of the options so if you screenshotted it, your results would mostly end up being the one single character (or sometimes 2 of the same characters) you screenshotted. So in order to get a wider variety of characters/results, I would take the extra step of creating multiple, differently ordered gifs, specifically 9 gifs in total.

My process required less time before, but as my click and drag games began to grow more popular and have been getting more feedback on it over the years, I'm spending more time in order to fix those kinks and inconveniences to the best of my ability. I feel like I've accomplished that with @deescade the most, which is why I'm much more active there than on here. The ideas that I come up with on deescade are more fun and interesting too, albeit it takes longer to create.

It's a really tedious process that I'd rather not spend that much time on, but if it makes my games easier to enjoy for myself and others, then I don't mind it too much.

(Genshin Impact) OC Generator event: @gr1malkin's OC

I got an interesting result, so I decided to share it!

The idea I have is that Amber had a brother who was kidnapped at a young age by a Fatui agent for their experiments. Part of why Amber is so adventurous and ambitious is because she hopes that someday she can find him and bring him home safely.

Meanwhile, her brother escaped the facility he was contained in and stowed away on a ship that Beidou's pirates seized. Beidou took him under her wing and taught him swordplay, though he took to normal broadswords more than claymores like her. He earned the same Vision as her when defending the ship against a sea monster despite other crew members abandoning the ship. However, he has always been more interested in healing than fighting, so he develops a way to use his Electro magic to heal others.

Eventually, he remembers that he actually has a sister! He was so young when he got taken he'd nearly forgotten about her, but he starts finally remembering bits and pieces of his young childhood in Mondstadt. Beidou and her crew are gonna miss him dearly, but they know the right thing to do is to drop him off at Mondstadt so he can find his family.

Eventually, he is reunited with Amber and takes up a job at the church as a healer! Every so often he travels down to the beach where Beidou often docks her ship to get supplies to meet with them, as they're like, his second family. He had a rough start with all the Fatui stuff, but I imagine this dude's got a good life now.

Appearance-wise, I think he looks a lot like Amber (same hair/eye color, just his hair is short and v fluffy) but he's got a lot of stitch-like scars on his body from the experiments. He was technically in Liyue waters when he got his vision, so he'd probably have a Liyue-style vision. Just like Beidou's! :D

Not sure on a name yet, but I think I like the name Emil, as it's both a German (Mondstadt) and a Russian (Sneznhaya) name. At least, that's the case according to behindthename lol.

But yeah, I really liked the idea I had with the result, so I figured I might as well share it. Hope you find it interesting as well

Hi there! Thank you SO MUCH for your patience! Here is Emil! I enjoyed reading his lore so much that I decided to make a character card edit for him instead of a sketch! Hope ya don't mind! It was really fun to make 😃 (I still have the really rough initial sketch for him though, dm me if you'd still like to see it!)

Since he's a healer and at the church, I was going for a priest/monk kind of design for him. I did keep in mind how similar he looks to Amber, but hopefully he doesn't simply look like a genderbent Amber. I tried making him look a little older than her for that reason!

How to Create a Click and Drag game!

There are two ways I know how to make these, but I prefer the first method since it's more efficient!

Also, just an FYI, these methods are all on mobile

Method 1:

Collect images of your desired characters

Crop all those images using the same ratios (I personally crop them at 1:1 because it's easier to fit them neatly in one square shape)

Use a gif maker app to put these collective images together into a gif

Use a gif editing app to add text on the top or bottom of the gif and save it

Go back (to either the same gif or a different one) and edit the text to create different labels/results

Organize the gifs together in one post and you're done!

Extra Tips/Notes

The following tips mainly apply to mobile users--

To keep things mobile friendly, mix up the order of the images in each gif so that those who screenshot/screensave their results get varied results rather than all the same character at once.

When setting the speed of the gifs, try to set it somewhere between 10-17 fps (I feel that any rate below 10 fps is too slow and any above 17 fps is too fast. That's just my preference though, it's always up to you!)

Generally, if you have many characters to include (20 or more), I'd set the speed at a higher fps rate, probably 17 fps or even 18. If you have very few characters (3-6 characters), I'd set it at a lower fps rate (at around 10-12 fps) so that the gifs aren't flashing like crazy

Method 2:

Collect images of your characters

Crop them at desired ratio

Edit each image to add text at the top or bottom. Do so for each image.

To set different labels/results, you will have to repeat step 3.

Use a gif maker app to turn those images into a gif

Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been gone for a month or so. Sometimes I get kinda overwhelmed with my personal life and creating content here that I often take breaks without letting you all know.

I will post a simple tutorial soon so you guys can make your own games. I often feel bad for making people wait for me to do their request, so this way, you can make your own when I'm not around!

This account and my main click and drag game one has grown A LOT more than I've imagined, so much to the point that I feel like I've reached my goal with it. Thank you for bearing with me and thank you for your support! I'm happy to be a source of fun for y'all and thank you all for being so appreciative about it too. Literally always makes my day 🥺💕

Ngl this almost sounds as if I'm retiring from creating click and drag games here, but don't worry! I'm still in the game, I still love making them :)
