If you feel frustrated about making wrong choices during painting, maybe you are just missing the point of those mistakes? Each wrong fork in the road is like closing doors to options that will eventually show you the right way ahead.
I forget this all the time myself but it’s always better to focus on the phase of the painting your piece is currently in rather than what you would ideally like it to be in.
The process itself can guide you to find those right solutions and seeing the wrong colour combinations and wrong shapes is always like putting money in your own skill bank. Those are all detours you won’t have to make in the future anymore and you’re that much closer to getting to your destination sooner.
