“You French girls!” Roger waved Celine off and took a drink of his whiskey. “So dramatic!”
Celine took her wine and tossed it on Roger’s beige jacket. “I am not French!” She snapped back, her handkerchief-like emerald dress fluttering as she crossed the hotel room and seized the door handle in a manicured grip. “I’m Bengali, and that blazer washes you out!”
“Oh, would you calm down?” Roger hissed, slamming his glass down and grabbing her wrist; Celine pulled back, stunned. “Did you just shush me?”
“-I’m not shushing you.”
“Yes. You. Did!”
“-I said you need to calm down!”
“-I AM CALM!”
Fists clenched and each breathing heavily, Celine and Roger stared at each other’s mouths, sighing and giving in as Celine grabbed the lapels of that awful blazer and crushed her immaculately lined lips against Roger’s. “You’re awful, but I hope it’s not on purpose.” She held Roger against her, giving him a little snarl.
“You’re so fucking fit.” Roger groaned, gripping Celine’s waist and slinging her long leg over his hip.
