I don’t think I’ve heard that one, but I’ve heard the one where he remarks about “the total and complete lack of freedom” souring the experience of getting carried around all day. :/

Ugh it really is so damn tragic….I hope that the time he spends with Frey can eventually convince him he can have some kind of destiny outside of destruction and ruin. She’s the only one who treats him like a person (most of the time, anyway), and actually asks his thoughts and opinions on things, something likely no one has ever been done before and he is probably wholly unaccustomed to. I think he’s probably still baffled that she even decided to spare him instead of killing or re-imprisoning him down in the labyrinths all alone.

Maybe someday she could even free him from their soul-bond….though a lot of water would have to pass under that bridge first.

I wish we had confirmation for how long Tantas actually live on average bc like. I got the idea it was like centuries or millennia even, but now that I’m thinking about it, wasn’t The First Tanta only like a thousand years ago?? We don’t know how many Tantas have existed since then, but it seems to be treated as Ancient History. The game says they live “far longer” than humans or whatever but considering the average lifespan of an Athian is probably like, 40, that could mean anything lmao

I’m 99% sure there’s an archive that says Tantas live “much longer” than the average human…but I’ve been sloshing in lore from other franchises LOL so that’s where I’m getting the “lives for centuries or millennia” thing from. I could be completely off the mark there. But that was the vibe I got, including from how the world seems to be built around the current (at the start of the game, anyway) Tantas. You get the feeling they’ve been in power for a long, long time
