A little curious about how Diego managed to form what I believe is 'friendship' with the two lovely girls (aka Beth and Mahalia) considering that the adults are sorta protective

I'm a little surprised two people are wondering this when I thought it was obvious. You are correct, the adults are protective, some moreso than others. Ian and Arthur are very protective of Beth, although it's important to note that Ian trusts Beth's ability to take care of herself while Arthur is full on mom wanting to shelter her from everything.

However, no one is majorly protective of Mahalia. Oh of course Isagani, Demi, and Lailani (and Efren too) worry about her and want her safe, but they know her, and they know she can take care of herself. Mahalia is a kickass young woman who takes absolutely no shit from anyone, don't let her cute appearance fool you.

Both Bethany and Mahalia are strong women who have been trained in both hand to hand and weaponized combat, they're intelligent beyond reason and are probably stronger than some men in the rebellion.

They became friends with Diego because they liked Diego, and frankly no one could have stopped them even if they wanted to.

Diego was a father before he was anything else, and fatherhood has stayed with him even through his torture and abuse. He loves those two girls like they were his own and would do anything for them, and if I'm being entirely honest with you, it's pretty likely Diego is more protective of them than their brothers are!

I saw you mention that there would be more books after "Broken Doll" (I'm excited ffffff). Is it okay if I ask what other books you're going to write for the series and the couple(s) that they're centered around?
