2023 was a great year of Skam for me, visiting Scandinavia, meeting up with Skam friends and modding the bang! Skam continues to be the gift that keeps on giving! I’m so blessed for the people I’ve met in fandom. I’m grateful for you everyday!

What is your Skam Story?

Late one night in 21, searching for another RWRB fic to read, I stumbled on Evak. A google search and four hours later, I’m sobbing at my phone as Isak clutched Even to him while O Helga Natt played. That was the first of many long nights reading Evak fanfic because I couldn’t let them go. Almost three years later, I still can’t. I was a beta in 21, a first time writer in 22, a mod in 23. Isak’s story hit hard. Like him, I grew up with a parent who struggled with mental illness. Like him, I ran at the first chance. And like him, I’ve struggled with those decisions. It’s no coincidence, my fics center Isak’s journey and his relationship with his mom as much as Even. Angst is my jam, but I’m always looking for my own HEA when I’m writing about his.

Why are excited to participate in the Skam Big Bang?

I’m not exaggerating when I say SKAM changed my life. I’ve traveled to distant places and made lifelong friends. This online group of creatives became my tribe and I’d do anything to see this community continue and thrive. I had so much fun with graphics last year I’m back for more alongside a wonderful team working hard to make it happen again.

What would you say to someone nervous about joining?

What is your Skamverse Story?

I found Skam in the winter of 2020, when the world was a bit strange and scary. After binging the series, dragging two friends from a previous fandom with me, and then signing up to the 2021 Big Bang (despite promising myself I was just having a look on AO3, I wasn’t going to write anything…) I have volunteered to mod for a second time. The fandom and community have been so wonderful and welcoming, and I’m so happy to be a part of it.

Why are you excited to participate in the Skam Big Bang?

The Skam Big Bang is such a wonderful event, showcasing incredible work from so many talented people. This will be my fourth bang, and I’m so grateful for its existence and would love to see it continue and thrive.

What would you say to someone nervous about joining?

Welcome! The community I have found through the Big Bang has been so lovely and welcoming, and especially friendly to new faces. We mods will also be around to help and guide you if you have any questions, but each year I have had so much fun and hope you will too.

What is your Skamverse Story?

I first discovered Skam through comments on TikTok Heartstopper and Young Royals edits. That led me to the amazing alllofskam resource and from there I started watching Sam France. I didn’t realise how the show worked until I then moved onto Skam Norway and started looking at the transmedia aspect that the incredible fandom has archived. I joined the Bang in 2023 as a beta through seeing promotion for the event on the instagram of the Skam recap podcast Alt Er Love and thought it would be a great way to get more connected to the fandom.

Why are you excited to participate in the Skam Big Bang?

I am excited to participate in the 2024 Bang as a mod because I am keen to give back to the community that has given me so much. I am not exaggerating when I say I have made lifelong friends through this fandom.

What would you say to someone nervous about joining?

We’re Skam Writers, Artists & Betas, from Europe, Australia & the U.S, spread across five time zones. We’ve created content for multiple Skam verses and participated in numerous past Bangs. Two of us are even returning to mod again. Because of how much this event and fandom has given us. we’re all excited to give back to the Skam community and continue this annual event!
