Cassandra Goth Makeover

Poor Cassandra Goth, she's had a bit of a rough time in the last few Sims games.

This playthrough I've decided to incorporate some of the storyline from the Sims 2 and have aged Cassie up to a young adult. After being left at the alter by Don Lothario and alone in their new home, Cassie made it her mission to meet other like minded and creative sims.

She met Sinead at the Willow Creek Retro Music Night and there was an instant attraction and shared interests between the two. As a newcomer to Willow Creek, Sinead had been looking for a place to stay and Cassie offered her spare room. What better to distract her from the pain of her break-up than a friend to listen to music with and talk about her dreams?

Then, yeah, that happened. I don't think Sinead will be needing a spare bed.

Both ladies share the Creative trait, both like Retro and Blues music and dislike pink.

BFF Household Makeover

So, I've been playing TS4 for over a year on my PS4, but in the last month it's started to sound like a fax machine when loading the game and it's been so slow and buggy it's been pretty unplayable.

I've finally caved in and bought myself a gaming laptop, so I will be able to game and work from my bed if my mobility is particularly bad.

I've not played The Sims on a PC since the Sims 2 was out so thought I would get used to it with a small project and I decided to update the BFF household and build them a new home in Willow Creek.

Summer has been given a lift with pink hair and a more fashionable wardrobe, my three favourite outfits are below.

I tried to make Liberty feel a little more edgy, rather than the mismatched abominations Maxis had dressed her in.

Travis is my favourite sim in the makeover, I think dressing male sims is easier when you have limited packs. I only have the Base Game and Seasons installed on my PC but I think his style is pretty cohesive.

Now that I only have the base game and one expansion pack I wanted to see if I could create a home for the BFFs that could pass for an authentic Late Victorian detached house. I collected a few reference images for London properties built at the end of the era and happily, found that there were a few assets in my game that worked well for the style.

I wanted the house to feel like a shared rental for young professionals, so gave it pretty neutral decorations that you would expect a landlord to chose to appeal to everyone. The house isn't too cluttered so it should run o.k on a console or a lower spec machine.

The house is kitted out with the skill building items the sims need, Liberty has a chess table, Travis a computer and there's a bar for Summer in the dining room. But the communal area furnishings should work pretty well for any group of three housemates.

I'm really happy with the sims and the build, but it's going to take me some time to get used to the controls on a PC, hopefully it will be easier than the eternal pain that is attempting to build decent lots on console!
