When they’re sixteen and lazing about in Chapa's bedroom is when Miles brings it up. “I think I’m going to quit Danger Force,” he says it casually but Bose has known him long enough to know the tensing around his mouth means he’s preparing for a fight.
No one reacts for a minute before Chapa speaks up, “Okay,” she says hollowly. Miles frowns at her and then at Bose for their nonreactions. “Is that it? Do you even care I’m leaving?” he snaps.
Bose blinks at him incredulously while Chapa snaps back, “Of course, we care! But we knew it was coming,” Bose doesn’t chime in but Chapa is right, a year or two ago when they started making plans for the future of Danger Force Miles stopped joining in.
When Bose would propose moving to a new city to fight together or Mika would enthusiastically talk about them all going to college together while Chapa told them both to stop being so idealistic and that Ray would never let them leave Swellview Miles wouldn’t say anything.
He’d decided to quit long before he told them. Miles lets his jaw hang open for a moment before snapping it closed with a nod of his head, “Okay, good.”
Chapa snorts at him while moving her ice pack from her bruised ribs to her sprained ankle, Bose knows it’s only a matter of time before she quits too. Suddenly he sits up, jostling Mika from where she’d been using him as a pillow.
“We should do something before you leave Danger Force, something permanent,” his friends eye him a bit skeptically but let him gather his thoughts and speak his mind in a way no one else really does, “I think we should get matching tattoos.”
He waits, sure one of his friends will protest, whether it be from most of their fear of needles or how a tattoo could make it easier for people to identify them but no one does. Slowly Miles nods, “Yeah, yeah I think that’s a good idea.” Chapa shrugs but nods but Mika frowns for a moment.
Bose lets her decide on her own time even though he wants to beg her to do it with them, he’s not going to pressure her.
After a few minutes pass she sighs, “Yeah okay,” she says, “But Ray and our parents can not find out, they’d kill us!” Everyone shudders a bit while imagining it and agrees.
It takes concerningly little time to find someone willing to tattoo them without checking for IDs but their town has always been a bit overridden with crime. Chapa goes first, willingly going alone so her friends don’t back out at the site of the needle.
When she leaves to the back Miles, Mika, and Bose lounge on the couches up front. No one says anything for a moment so Bose decides to bite the bullet and ask, “Why quit now?” he feels like it’s a fair question, he’d always assumed they’d fight together at least until the end of high school but Miles face twists in displeasure all the same.
“I don’t really know to describe it,” he eventually confesses, “It’s like every time I put on that suit more of me chips away, I don’t know how much longer I can go before I’m more AWOL than Miles.” Bose nods while Mika frowns in concern, “That’s really unhealthy,” she states making Miles roll his eyes.
“Yeah duh, hence the quitting.” Bose laughs as his friends develop into their usual bickering even though he can't shake the feeling of this truly being the beginning of the end.
Chapa comes out and grins sharply as she narrows in on Bose, despite it being his idea for the tattoos he gulps as he feels his palms start to sweat. Chapa grabs him by the hand and drags him to the back, ignoring his pleas for one of the twins to go first.
He frowns anxiously as he’s led into the room and Chapa finally takes pity on him and gives his hand a reassuring squeeze, “It doesn't hurt that bad, I promise.” Bose chuckles weakly and asks her, “Where did you get yours anyways? I’m going to get mine above my ankle,” Chapa nods at his answer before slightly lifting up her shirt, on her ribs is a simple but elegant design with just the letters DF.
Bose nods when he sees it before gripping her hand tightly as he sits in the chair. The artist walks over to him and smiles holding out their hand for a handshake. They can’t be much older than Bose with dyed green hair and five or six facial piercings.
“Hey kid, your friend here tells me the rest of you are scared of needles so I promise I’ll try to be quick. Is there anything I could do to make you less nervous?”
Bose’s hand is trembling lightly when he grabs their’s but he plasters on a warm smile anyways, “Can you just like, walk me through what you’re doing I guess?” he feels stupid as the words leave his mouth but the artist nods reassuringly, “Yeah, of course, I’m Dae by the way. You’re Bose right?” Bose nods and tries to get more comfortable in the chair.
“Okay to start with I’m just going to shave some of the hair off your ankle where you want the tattoo okay?” Bose nods and looks away as they do their thing. “Alright now you’re going to hear a buzzing as I start my machine,” the buzzing is louder than Bose was expecting causing him to jump a little, Chapa laughs at him but keeps holding his hand.
“Now I’m going to get some ink and start on outlining the D okay? You should feel a stinging sensation, if it gets to be too much just let me know and I’ll stop okay?”
Bose nods from where he's still staring at Chapa, firmly away from the needle he’s about to let enter his skin. He flinches a bit as he feels it come into contact but settles after a minute when he realizes the tattoo artist was right, it’s a light stinging but nothing too bad.
After a few moments they speak again, “Okay I’m going to get some more ink and add the F and then go back and touch up some lines,” Bose nods at them and focuses on keeping his breathing even.
“Alright I’m about to start again so please hold still for me.” Bose does as he’s told keeping completely still, barely breathing.
Dae laughs lightly, “You don't have to be that still kid, you can relax,” Bose laughs in embarrassment and deliberately relaxes some, next to him Chapa rolls her eyes again.
In no time at all Dae click the tattoo gun off, “Alright you’re all done.” “What really?”Bose questions incredulously. Dae nods and turns to Chapa, “Wanna go get another one of your little friends for me? I need to get a drink and a snack real quick.”
Chapa nods before turning to Bose with a glare, “Stay right here.” Bose squeaks out a, “Yes ma’am.” and Chapa leaves.
Dae walks back in about five minutes later with water and a half-empty bag of chips, “Chapa still not back yet?” Bose shakes his head, “No, I’ll go check on her.” Dae nods and waves him on so Bose walks to the front room where he has to pause to blink in shock.
Chapa has Miles in a headlock while Mika watches on in horror, when Chapa catches sight of Bose she snaps at him, “Help me carry him!” Stuttering Bose does as he’s told before asking, “What is going on ?”
Miles huffs before answering, “I really want this stupid tattoo but I keep chickening out before I can get it so I asked Chapa to help me get there.” Bose nods at this as though having to wrestle your friend into getting a tattoo is a common occurrence. They start pushing him down the hall while Mika follows in disbelief.
Dae blinks when they take notice of all of them but says nothing. “Okay, this is going to sound weird but will you be able to tattoo while we hold Miles’ arms down?” Chapa questions.
Dae blinks at them incredulously again before responding, “Uh it’s going to depend on where he wants the tattoo.” They all turn to Miles snickering as he squirms. “I want it on my shoulder,” he admits.
Dae hums, “Could you just hold his hands instead?” Chapa and Bose look at each other before nodding. “Alright, Miles, is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?” Miles takes a quick glance at the tattoo gun before swallowing, “Don’t tell me anything. Just surprise me.” Dae nods and pats their chair, “Alright get on up here.”
Miles gets settled while Dae moves around behind him. Gently Bose takes one hand while Chapa takes the other and Mika goes to hide in the corner where she can’t see the tattooing happening.
Bose flinches a little as he sees Dae pick up the tattoo gun and cringes as he notices the withering glare Chapa sends his way, Miles whimpers in fear. “It’ll be okay! I barely even felt it!” Miles flinches and Chapa sends Bose a whithering look, promising him he’ll probably get shocked later. “Alright got the memo, shutting up now,” Bose confirms.
Dae starts tattooing in the dead silence as Mika hesitantly peaks over her shoulder, when she sees the blood start welling up she squeaks and hides again in fear.
“Mika!” Chapa complains when Miles flinches in response. “I’m sorry, you know I’m scared of needles,” she cries. Chapa considers this before shrugging slightly and readjusting her hold on Miles’ hand.
“Alright man, you’re almost done, give me a minute to finish up the line work,” Dae declares after about ten minutes of painfully awkward silence. “Oh thank God,” Miles breathes out while Mika squeaks in fear from her hiding corner.
“Alright you’re all done,” Dae declares, putting their gun down and stretching their wrists out. “Wow! That was a lot easier than expected,” Miles declares, Chapa glares at him from where she’s started rotating her wrist he twisted in his escape attempts earlier.
“Okay I’m going to go get some more water, feel free to take a bit of a breather, it’ll be a bit because I have to go next door,” Dae commands, they all nod and Dae disappears farther into the studio.
“How was it, Miles?” Mika questions the boy. “It hurt less than I was expecting but it didn’t feel great,” he confesses.
Mika hums even as her face starts looking distressed, “What about you Chapa?” Chapa pauses to think about it, “Well I got it on my ribs so I knew it was going to hurt pretty badly, but it’s not like I was getting them broken by a criminal again or anything so it was fine.”
Surprisingly that seems to calm Mika down a bit causing her to take some steadying breaths, “What if I can’t do it?” She questions in fear. “Then you don’t,” Bose answers like it’s just that simple because to him it is, matching tattoos or not they’ll always be Danger Force.
Even as they move on and away Danger Force will always be the four of them and nothing will change that.
“Yeah girl,” Chapa starts, “it’d be cool for us all to have the same tattoo but you’ll still be part of Danger Force without it.” Suddenly Mika’s lower lip starts wobbling dangerously, “This is really it huh? This is the end of Danger Force?”
It’s a bit startling to realize she’s right, as kids it had always seemed like Danger Force would go out in a blaze of glory, fighting someone like Drex or Dr. Minyak, Bose can’t imagine explaining to their younger selves Danger Force doesn’t end anything like that, that Danger Force ends in a run down tattoo shop when they’re sixteen and so tired of the world. Unbidden his lip starts trembling too.
“Hey!” Chapa snaps, “We got through three of these stupid tattoos with no tears, we’re going to get through the rest of them too okay? We can cry when we get back to Bose’s house.” Slowly everyone nods. “Okay,” Mika sighs, “Okay, I’m ready to get this tattoo.” “You sure?” Miles double-checks, not wanting her to do something she doesn’t truly want to. “Yeah, yeah I’m sure.”
They all wait around a few minutes for Dae to appear, subtly drying their eyes when they do. “Alright, last tattoo time?” “Last tattoo time,” they echo. “Alright, where do you want this placed?” Dae questions. Mika hums in lieu of a response for a minute before saying, “My hip.”
“Sure thing, go ahead and get on the table. Is there anything I could do that would help you be more comfortable during this?” Mika shakes her head and Dae nods, “Alright cool, you good and comfortable?” When Mika nods Dae smiles and grabs their gun, “Alright this shouldn’t be too long.”
Mika squeaks a bit when Dae actually starts tattooing but settles soon enough. “So I’m guessing Danger Force is important to all of you?” Bose watches as Dae’s eyes sweep over all of them, taking in their heights and skin tones, their face shapes and hair color, and chooses not to say anything, he’s silently grateful.
“Yeah,” Chapa confirms, “Danger Force saved us y'know? It felt important to remember.”
Dae nods from where they’re bent over Mika’s leg still tattooing, “Yeah those are some really brave kids. The town wouldn’t be the same without them, but I can’t wait to see what they do with their lives later. You’re all done Mika.” Mika smiles as she sits up and gets a good look at her tattoo, laughing wetly as they all pile into a messy hug.
“To Danger Force,” the girl Bose would follow into the sun says, “To Danger Force,” the friends he’s followed to the moon echo.
couldn't win, fighting, bleeding, losing, and now I'm sick of it
TW: Major character injury and gunshot wound
Objectively Bose probably enjoys fighting crime a little too much, he can never get over the adrenaline rushing through his veins and the thrill he feels finally catching someone who’s been terrorizing his town. He punches like he can’t feel the throbbing in his knuckles or the bruises along his sides. He’s thirteen and he feels on top of the world.
As he gets a bit older the bruises start hurting a bit more, old wounds he’s gained never heal quite right, and he gets a bit more careless with his own life. So when he’s fourteen and a villain fires a gun at him all he can think is, “Thank God, it’s me,” because it would tear Miles apart if it was Mika and it would ruin Mika if it was Miles, and Chapa is their heaviest hitter and the most protective person he knows while most of the time he feels like he’s just there to lighten the mood. He doesn’t hear his teammates horrified screams as he blacks out.
Bose is unconscious for five days with the others constantly vigilante by his bedside. Ray comes up to Chapa on the third day, “You’ve got to go home kid, your parents are probably worried,” Chapa doesn’t look up at him, “They’re not. I told ‘em there was a field trip.”
Ray sighs as he takes in his haggard sidekick, “Still kid, you’ve got to go home.” Chapa finally turns to look at him but she’s glaring hatefully with her jaw set stubbornly, “I’m not going anywhere so stop asking.” Ray glares back at her, “I wasn’t asking. I’m telling you as your boss and the adult here to go home.”
Chapa laughs incredulously at that before exploding, “Oh so now you’re the adult? Where were you when Bose was putting his life on the line for this town? Where were you when Bose was getting shot? Where were you when Bose was dying on that field as I held his gunshot wound closed with my bare hands?”
Ray sighs as Chapa yells at him before snapping, “You’re right! I should’ve been there! I’m the adult and you are the children! Which is why I’m telling you, you need to go home. You’re exhausted from fighting and watching Bose. I promise if anything happens to him while you’re gone I’ll call you.”
Chapa glares at him for another few minutes before sighing, “Okay, I’ll go home, but you have to tell me the second anything changes.” Ray smiles at her and brings her in for a hug, “Be safe, okay kid?” Chapa rolls her eyes but promises she will.
Ray sighs as he sits back down next to Bose, “I’m really sorry kid. I just-” Ray stops himself before he says anything else, “I’m so sorry I even got you into all this.” Bose doesn’t make any indication he can hear him. He gets up to greet Mika and leads her towards Bose when he hears her walk in.
Mika understands that Bose will heal from his injuries and trusts Shwoz when he assures her Bose being unconscious is for the best right now. But that doesn’t quell her fear when she sees him laid up in bed with a breathing tube through his nose and all the bandages on him.
Apparently, he’d been fighting with a broken arm so that had had to be bandaged as well as his chest being wrapped from where the bullet had hit. It’s unsettling watching her lively friend be so still.
A bit selfishly watching Bose in the hospital bed makes her wonder about her own safety. Somehow fighting in space and being kidnapped pales in comparison to her best friend dying in a hospital bed. It makes her wonder if this time wasn’t a fluke, if this is the rest of their lives, constantly toeing the line with death. She sighs as she curls tighter in her ball beside Bose’s bedside hoping he’ll wake up soon.
Miles will be the first to admit it, he’s been avoiding the Man Cave. He can’t stand the thought of seeing his best friend so hurt. He gets away with this for about three days before Mika barrels into his room ignoring his outraged protests about her breaching his privacy and encroaching on his personal space.
“Why haven’t you gone to see Bose?” she demands. Miles stammers for a minute before caving, “I’m scared okay? I’m afraid of how I’ll react when I see him! I was so scared when I heard that gunshot go off! I felt so useless! Bose was lying there and there was so much blood. I thought he was dead!” “Oh Miles,” Mika sighs as she hugs him, “we all felt like that. But imagine how upset Bose will be when he gets told you didn’t visit him once?” Miles' shoulders sag at his sister’s words but he nods, “You’re right, I’ll go see him, cover for me with Mom and Dad!” “Wait Miles I didn’t mean right now-” Mika doesn’t get to finish as Miles disappears in a flash of yellow light.
Miles takes a moment to prepare himself before he enters the makeshift hospital room they’ve made for Bose in the Man’s Nest. It doesn’t do anything to help the heart-stopping moment when he sees his best friend, pale and sickly looking.
He takes a deep breath to steel himself before walking to sit down next to his friend, “Hey Bose, sorry I didn’t come by sooner. I feel a bit dumb talking to you when I’m not even sure you can hear me, but hopefully, you can. I’m really scared dude. I want you to be okay so badly. Just…please wake up soon.” Miles sighs as Bose doesn’t react.
Chapa comes back from her temporary ban from the Man’s Nest two days after it occurs, five days after Bose was shot. She greets Mika and Miles before asking about Bose’s condition. “He’s fine,” Schwoz assures her, “He should wake up soon.” Chapa doesn’t know how much she believes him, unable to shake the terror she’s felt since she watched that bullet tear through flesh and blood.
“Should we…turn the TV on?” Ray questions hesitantly. “Uh, I have my laptop we can watch old seasons of Geniuene Moments from there while we stay by Bose,” Mika volunteers. No one volunteers any other ideas so they settle around her laptop. They’re forty minutes into the third Geniuene Moments episode when Bose groans. No one hears him at first but Chapa shushes everyone aggressively when he groans again, “I think Bose is waking up!” They all hold their breaths for a few minutes before his eyes flutter open.
Fuck it lab rats elite force headcanons because it’s 2022, cringe is dead, and I’m extremely mentally ill
Some times the mighty med three spend entire days together or have to sleep in the same room because they get so worried about the others being out of site
Their whole world ended and they weren’t there, they can’t imagine losing the only people in the world that understand
To this day their grief is one of the most terrifying things Chase and Bree have ever seen
None of them say it but everyone knows if Kaz could he’d kill everyone responsible for the fall of mighty med with his bare hands
Oliver calls Horace’s voicemail just to hear his voice and “talk” to him
When Skylar first processed that her first real parental figure was gone she screamed so loudly Kaz and Oliver could hear it from mission command in the basement
Sometimes Bree and Chase camp out in a spare room together and video call Adam all night long
It’s not like it was before but it has to be enough
It reminds them of living together in the basement
Leo often joins in
Chase and Bree call Tasha as much as possible
That’s their mom and it hurts so much to not be with her
When Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo first saw and held Naomi they swore they’d never let her get hurt
It also made them wonder how Davenport could justify sending them on missions
The five of them have a lot of late night talks about what their motivations for being heroes are and how burnt out they are
Oliver and Chase bond over how terrified they are of turning out like their parents
Chase and Bree still feel guilty about what happened to Marcus
Bree has nightmares of her brother’s dead body on the table in Giselle’s lab
Oliver worries constantly about how willing Kaz was to sacrifice himself to stop from turning evil and how he must feel now
Chase and Bree slightly resent Davenport for sending them out into the world without truly preparing them for it
When they finally arrested Roman and Riker Chase and Bree had to bring them in because the others didn’t trust themselves to
Oliver and Kaz stopped talking with Gus and Jordan causing Skylar to follow suit
It was so hard interacting with them after they’d lost so much
When the destruction of mighty med was first discovered Kaz, Oliver, and Skylar spent hours digging though the rubble with their bare hands
They were desperate to find anyone alive, not caring when their hands started bleeding or when they started crying
There was no one alive there but them
Skylar tends to be the only team member to remember Kaz and Oliver are doctors so Chase and Bree are often surprised by how much medical knowledge the two have
There were a lot of screaming matches when everyone first moved into the tower
Bree and Chase kept waiting for their annoying brothers to drag them into some dumb prank or to the movies only to be shocked or disappointed when they realized it was only the two of them
Kaz was used to living with his siblings in his space all the time but also used to always having the escape to Oliver’s house, the sudden restriction made him chafe
Oliver was also fairly used to large people in his space due to growing up staying over at Kaz’s house but everything about the tower being different from his home with his mom rubbed salt in an open wound
All the people in the tower constantly reminded Skylar of how they weren’t any of the people from Mighty Med
Chase once did something annoying so Kaz snapped “Quit it Alan” on accident and then locked himself in his bedroom for the rest of the day
Asking about people the team have lost is always like a land mind; tons of emotional triggers to step on
Reverse robins is so funny to me because you have Bruce taking in a fucking feral child as the first child he’s ever raised this kid is RABID and then the next kid is slightly better but also has no fucking sense of self-preservation at all and then the kid has SUPERPOWERS and Bruce is just like wtf why me and then this tiny little kid that figures out their identities and still has parents and is naturally smart but hates school comes barreling into their lives full speed and leaves it like a bomb and next there’s a kid with scraped knees who steals the batmobiles tires and is bright and young and ALIVE and Bruce feels his heart break and heal all at once and he takes this kid home and tries so hard not to let him fight crime, pushing him towards school and books like the kid loves, but he can never keep his kids out of the line of fire for long and after awhile along comes a little girl who doesn’t speak and whose first language is violence and Bruce opens up his home again but then his son who he loved and never got to say goodbye to is back and he’s cold in a way he wasn’t before and Bruce aches and when things finally start to settle between everyone the world thrusts a little boy whose tragedy mirrors Bruce’s own right into his lap
Amity tries not to think about her family left at home in the monthsdaysyears she’s been stuck in this strange unfamiliar realm. She throws everything she has into finding a portal home because she knows if she stops she’ll break. She brushes off when the others ask if she’s okay, smiles and lies through her teeth. They always look sad when she does that, but she’s pretty sure if she starts crying she’ll never stop. At night she lays awake worrying for her family. Amity thinks of her annoying older siblings who even at their worst never made her doubt if they loved her or not. She misses their stupid pranks and annoying grins. She misses Emira healing her whenever she needed it. She misses Edric doing whatever he could to make her smile when she was upset. She misses her dad’s hugs and him letting her help in his workshop when she was younger. Despite herself, she also misses her mom’s cold presence. She just. She just misses her family.
Willow knows she’s their rock. So she does all she can to be a reliable presence in the other’s lives. She swallows down her own fears and worries and puts on a brave face for the others. She holds Gus when he sobs so hard he can’t breathe, listens to Amity talk wistfully about the twin’s dumb shenanigans, and reassures Luz when she spirals about Eda and King. The only person it’s different with is Hunter. He looks her dead in the eyes and calls her out on her bullshit, encourages her to cry and scream about the unfairness of it all. She leans on him and begs him to lean back but he never does.
Hunter’s the oldest and has objectively lost the least. Hell, he’s part of the reason any of them lost anything at all so he swallows his fears and the tears that constantly burn at the back of his throat throwing his whole being into being the reliable older brother. He misses Darius so much it startles him. More than anything he misses the comforting familiarity of the Boiling Isles. He comforts the others and provides as much support as he can. Occasionally he admits his fears to the others but the one thing he’ll take to the grave is how much he misses Belos. He misses how routine everything was, he misses feeling sure of his place in the world, and most shamefully sometimes he even misses Belos hurting him because at least he was being acknowledged.
Gus feels like he can never stop crying. That as soon as he thinks his tears have dried up an entirely new set starts trickling down his cheeks. The others always reassure him, promising they don’t mind and that they understand. Most of all they remind him he’s a kid whose gone through something most adults can’t handle. He bites back his retorts that they’ve experienced the same things he has. That they're kids too, and most of all that he sees them force down their sobs and screams to not worry the others. He longs to ask his dad what he should do, a newly familiar grief welling up inside him. Sometimes he wants to go back in time and shake himself for wanting to go to the human realm so bad. He struggles to find joy in it when the circumstance that brought him here are so painful. He feels especially bad when Luz shows him every human trinket she can think of, desperate to cheer him up. He forces a smile on his face when that happens but she can always tell when he’s faking.
Luz constantly feels conflicted. She loves her mom so much and is so glad to be home, but her worry for Eda and King often overshadows it. She knows King is a titan and might be able to hold his own against the collector, but he’s also just a kid. She dwells on the last thing he said to her often, how final it had sounded. The words haunt her, constantly bouncing around her head. “Luz, I’m so happy I had you as a big sister.” She wants to scream she’s still his big sister, that she’ll do anything to be with him, to know he’s safe. She wishes she knew if Eda was okay, if her and King are together. She just doesn’t know. She does her best to pour those emotions into taking care of the others, but more often than not has to take a break because it reminds her so much of taking care of King. She wipes Gus’ tears and then hides in the bathroom while trying to stop her own, she lets Amity worry about Edric and Emira and swallows her own fears, and she does her best o be a shoulder to lean on for Hunter and WIllow even as she feels herself breaking apart.
Camila feels as if she’s worried all the time. She was often worried Vee would be found out when she first learned of the basilisk's true nature and she was constantly worried about Luz left alone in the demon realm, but this is an entirely different type of worry. She’s constantly walking on eggshells trying to avoid emotional landmines that might set the kids off. She asks Hunter about his family and has all four other kids clamoring to get her attention as he carefully avoids her eyes. She watches Willow look longingly at plants when they go shopping and offers to buy her some. Willow turns to her with a wavering smile and says, “Thanks Ms. Noceda, but the plants don’t talk to me here, it’d just feel wrong.” Camila nods and says, “I understand,” softly even when she’s never been more confused. She tries to comfort Amity when she’s upset and just gets a mournfully uttered, “I have no idea if all my family is dead. The twins are only sixteen,” and she swallows the tears that well up at that, tries to imagine being in a similar situation and can’t so she just pulls the girl closer and hugs her tight. Gus is the hardest for her to connect to, consciously or not the others tend to shield him from her, constantly hovering around him and wiping his tears, acting as his parental figure in this strange new world where nothing is certain. She reassures him he can come to her with anything and he smiles and nods then never does. She hovers over her daughters, terrified she’ll lose either of them. Constantly hugging and kissing them, reassuring them she loves them equally. Most of all she feels sad. She feels sad for these kids whose world literally fell apart around them. She feels sad as they huddle together and flinch at loud sounds. She feels sad watching these kids constantly glance over their shoulders, worrying about a threat in an entirely different world. She just feels sad.
Bakugou has hearing loss due to his explosions. (this is a widely-accepted headcanon lbr)
He starts losing it when he’s about 5
Doctors say he’ll probably be completely deaf by the age of 16
He wears hearing aids but when he’s annoyed with people (read the Bakusquad) he makes direct eye contact with someone and takes them out before closing his eyes so he can’t see jsl (Japanese sign language)
Him and Mic sometimes sign so rapidly at each other the other students don’t even try to understand it.
Aizawa tries to make sure he’s always signing his classes
Todoroki is blind in his burned eye.
Most people can’t tell until he explains it
As long as someone pays enough attention to what side they’re walking on everything is good
Once Bakugou walked on his left side and was signing to him but thought Todoroki was ignoring him so Bakugou yelled at him. Now Bakugou makes sure to walk on his right side.
He has quirk related epilepsy because of the short circuiting his brain goes through when he over uses his quirk.
He had his first seizure when he was about four
Now he takes medicine to regulate it but once a while he will have another seizure
The others have gotten really good at helping with them though so that’s good
Sometimes after really bad ones Aizawa has him wear quirk suppressing cuffs for a week or so
His short circuiting is a focal impaired awareness seizure, it goes on longer than usual due to the unusually high electricity he produces
The class was suitably horrified when they found out
