Oracle of Ages was the first top down Zelda title I played. I never tried seasons, but I knew of the bonus content that gets revealed if you play both. Maybe now it's time to revisit it? Going to have to acquire the proper hardware.

I'm a strong believer the power of nature can have on mental health recovery.

Sunrise over the mountains. Waking up next to the sound of lapping water, rustling trees, and birds calling overhead. I love the forest.

PREACH
I really would prefer just being able to buy classic games individually on my switch, but I hope a lot of people who dont normally play retro games try out the classic games for Nintendo Switch Online.
It always makes me sad when I hear people write off retro games completely just for being old or lacking a few QOL improvements from modern games.
Maybe folks will be more open minded if they're getting all the games as a bonus instead of buying them individually. Worst case scenario folks play joe and mac 2 or Brawl Bros and quit after 5 minutes if they dont immediately feel engaged. Best case scenario, some young blood falls in love with several generations of games from the past.
Retro game are serious life savers in those long stretches of time where there aren't any new games I'm interested in on the near horizon.

IT IS MY HONEST OPINION THAT PLAYING VIDEO GAMES RECREATIONALLY IS GOOD FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH, IF IT IS SOMETHING YOU ENJOY.
Do you agree?

What was the most revolutionary console for you?
I'm looking back at which console had the biggest impact on my gaming experience. For me there were two:
1. Nintendo Gamecube
2. Xbox 360
I remember the day my siblings and I picked up the Gamecube. We had saved up over the summer and were ready to make that purchase. I remember the struggle to get my siblings on board to go along with this. I was the oldest (I believe I was 10 or 11 at the time) and was trying to explain to my younger siblings that yes we should spend the money on the Gamecube instead of pumping more money into our N64 as the games coming out would only be released for the Gamecube. After many arguments and graphs showing my point, they were on board and we made the purchase. A couple things really stood out for us with this console. There were the graphics, mostly bright and colourful (Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine) and the release of the 'Wavebird' controller. Wireless. I remember thinking that was the absolute bees knees. We played hours of fantastic adventure titles (again, Wind Waker, which is to this day an absolute gem) and co-op/multiplayer games like Smash Bros Melee and 007: Goldeneye, which had very enjoyable multiplayer mechanics like the different things you could do with your eye (I remember, I think x-ray vision?). And finally, the standard controllers. They felt so right, their design so elegant, fitting like a good glove.
The Xbox 360 was a game changer that I wasn't expecting. I was a little late to the game and the online gaming seemed a little foreign to me as my family was way behind on high speed internet due to where we lived. I remember being like "I probably won't even get xbox live." Boy was I wrong. I decided to give it a go despite our "high speed" connection and my god, the stars must've been aligned just right because it worked. There were many times of lag and outright dropouts but they didn't phase me at all. This was a whole new way to game (I'd like to point out that yes, I know PC had this already but I was a console guy) and my friends and I were hooked. I remember staying up late playing games like Borderlands, Call of Duty, GTA 4, and skate with my best mates.
That was fun to look back on. I can honestly say no systems have had the same impact that these two have. Damn, I want to get my hands on a gamecube!
So what was your defining console?

The gamecube was, in my opinion, such a revolutionary console. I miss it, might try and pick one up to add to the collection. Would love to play the gems like Mario Sunshine again.

Get outdoors!
This may be a personal opinion, it may be proven science. All I can say is that when my mental health is making noise (Anxiety, depression) the best thing to do is get up and go for a walk. Fresh air, exercise, some music, it can really turn the mood around, and it takes no effort! So that's my advice; don't sulk indoors, get out and get some sunshine and fresh air!

This is something I struggled with. I often said to myself that if I wasn't studying then whatever else I'm doing is just wasting time. But no. You need to relax at times and take a break. Overloading your mind is not good for studying or for your mental health.
