Saw the funeral ritualistic cannibalism post and had to think of all the diseases that can be transmitted by cannibalism. Is that a concern for the Birrin as well? Do they have methods to stop the spread of diseases? (Btw love your art and worldbuilding!)
The birrin dont have prion diseases. However there were disease risks which is why many rituals developed, including cooking and other treatments.

How do birrin hear (and could/would they use headphones)?
They have reptile like ears but can also hear infrasound through their feet. Headphones are worn similar to how humans do.

What would the cultural majority of industrial city dwelling birrin think of human fiction
[Is that specific enough for you?]
I think they would find it focuses on individuals a lot, rather than groups or large families.

Hey! Hello!
Im sure its been asked before and i dont want to burden you if youre busy, but do you have any worldbuilding tips? Especially on how to make a variety of species that could believably be in the same environment or planet?
Ive run into a problem where even if i set boundaries or some basic threshold of common universal traits for them to be based off of or possess, they just dont fit together quite right.
To be honest? Just start drawing/writing. Don't overthink it, or seek perfection or you will never get started.

do birrin have undead/zombies or some sort of equivalent in their pop culture mythos
Some of their cultures would, yes. Though they are less supernaturally predisposed than humans are.

recently i have come up with a speculative biology idea, about a researcher and a team of explorers going through a swamp like environment where all water is highly acidic and so is all of the rain, discovering the unique flora and fauna like gigantic mangrove trees that are adapted to form large puddles of acidic water at their roots which they then neutralize with a base forming salt and water and making it usable, it would be told through notes sent back to the capital in the researcher's point of view,
you've been a great inspiration on rekindling my love of speculative biology in a fantasy esque setting, and i would appreciate getting some feedback from who i would consider as a professional, and its okay if you don't respond too.
thank you!
It sounds like a good idea to me, the notes could be accompanied by sketches?

Baby birrin and the anatomy of their eggs.
Their eggs have protein caps which are exchanged several times during development.
Color changes let attending birrin know the status of the embryo and when a new cap is needed.
